Very good food without flavor enhancers. Portions large enough to fill you up Authentic cuisine with the chef's attempt to bring real Vietnamese cuisine to Germany. Duck very juicy and not dry, also very good Pho soup.

I love eating here. The lunch menu is really nice. Large, freshly prepared dishes are available for 10-12 euros. It's also great that you can decide whether you want tofu or chicken, for example. I just had the rice noodle bowl with vegetarian spring rolls. Clear recommendation! You can eat inside or in the town square

We were here at lunchtime and sat outside. The food was very tasty and the service was also very friendly! Price-performance was definitely right. The lunch offer consisted of a main course + starter/dessert = free drink. We had the Bún (rice noodle bowl) and Sa Ót (fried vegetables) as well as Báhn Bao each. Everything was very tasty for €29 including a drink.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to the Golden Star as part of the Traunstein cultural summer and had a table on the town square. My wok dish with chicken was super tasty, the vegetables were fresh, beautifully presented and well seasoned. The spring and summer rolls that my wife chose were just as good. The service was very friendly and attentive and always concerned about the well-being of all guests. We'd love to come back. Dad Restaurant is an enrichment for Traunstein's gastronomy.

This restaurant is a gem! I ordered the chicken and shrimp summer rolls, vit hoisin, and com rang, and we had a feast. This meal fed my husband and me, our three young children, and my parents. Every dish was delicious!! My favorite was the hoisin dish (we had it with chicken instead of duck)—the vegetables, sauce, rice, meat…all of it was so tasty! I wish we lived closer, so we could eat here more often!

My husband and I spontaneously went for dinner here today as many restaurants were unfortunately closed on Sunday. By chance we came across the Golden Star. The menu is very extensive and varied. What is particularly striking is that there are not the standard dishes here as usual. We had dim sum and chicken wings with garlic sesame marinade. My husband had wok duck with peanut sauce and I chose prawns with mango chilli salad. Everything was very tasty and well prepared, fresh and absolutely fair in price. The service was very good. We were often asked if everything was OK or if there was anything else we would like. We will definitely eat here more often. We always enjoy coming here as a family, whether for a cheap lunch, dinner or take-away. The dishes on the small, fine and seasonal menu are always freshly prepared and cooked with love. Not fancy or over-the-top, just honestly delicious! If you haven't done it yet: definitely try the bao buns as an appetizer! The service is extremely attentive and available for special requests. What is definitely worth emphasizing is the large, excellent selection of wines, which you wouldn't necessarily expect to find in an Asian restaurant. I have never had a better Pinot Gris in Traunstein. Great recommendation! Just let us advise you… If authentic, delicious cuisine is more important to you than a stylish interior, Golden Star is definitely the right place for you! And of course the sun-drenched window front on the 1st floor with a view of the town square also has its charm! :)

Quite simply the best Asian restaurant in the Traunstein district. Still an insider tip at the moment, if you don't go you're definitely missing out!

Unfortunately I can't give more than three stars. In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is simply not right here. Upscale price but not upscale food. Update 04/21/24 1 out of 5 stars. Whether you go to the restaurant or not is a matter of taste. But to every review written here that is negative, simply answering, sorry for the language, stupidly doesn't have much to do with being professional.

Today I had dinner with my husband for the first time (definitely not the last time). We are more than thrilled, your food is amazing. Such lovingly prepared plates. The taste of the different dishes was an explosion in the mouth. We have never tasted such excellent Vietnamese cuisine in our lives. Everything is prepared fresh and very well seasoned. The portions are a nice size. We tried a variety of dishes and every single dish was a culinary delight. Hoanth thanh chien Dim sum mix Pho chicken Tom Chien Xu Sommerroll's chicken & shrimps Sommerroll's Bo la lot Bun crispy chicken And every single one of them is excellent. The Hugo was super tasty, as was the beer. The prices are more than fair for the fresh ingredients. We were greeted and served very friendly. It is very clean and nicely decorated. There was pleasant music playing in the background that wasn't too loud. All in all, it was a very nice meal with you. Please keep it up. We will definitely recommend you!!!

The food is really great, the duck had the perfect sweet touch and the vegetables were also very good. The portions are just as praiseworthy, and you can always ask for a new, full bowl of rice if you run out, and it's free. For me it is one of the best shops when it comes to Asian cuisine. Service is a very nice, young man who I'm happy to leave tips to. He accepted everything, seemed very positive and was very friendly to all of us. I wish the company all the best and hope they are recognized for your food.

The wonton starters were delicious, as was the duck with mango sauce. The bowl wasn't my thing, but it's probably a matter of taste. Unfortunately, absolutely no recommendation!! There were two of us and there wasn't much going on in the restaurant. We waited over an hour for our food and suddenly there was cheese in the dish, which was labeled as vegan because of its ingredients. There were two people sitting at the next table, one of whom had ordered Halal. She got the same dish as her companion, soup also with pork. That's absolutely not possible. The food wasn't so good that I could say that the visit was somehow worth it. We were both quite upset and will definitely not be coming back. The service didn't make up for the long waiting times; the waitress even started a discussion at the next table.

Super delicious food. Authentic cuisine. Service very attentive and on point. The dumplings as a starter were a poem. The main courses (Golden Noodles and Golden Curry) were also wonderful. I really like the glasses and the plates. Very stylish. The food generally looks very tasty - and not only to the eye, but also to the palate. I haven't had such fresh and crunchy vegetables in a restaurant for a long time. In my opinion the restaurant deserves more customers. We will definitely come back. 1A and 5 stars from me! Mega good Vietnamese food! Very tasty curry with rice and chicken! Pasta dishes were also great! The vegetables in the dishes were extremely fresh and very tasty! The food is very lovingly prepared. Cola Zero is available in a glass bottle - great! Top service, a waiter who can remember everything... where else can you find something like that? Happy to come back :)

Summer rolls and beef - fresh and delicious

Great Vietnamese! We especially liked the starters. As a vegan, it's great to have choices! The fried tofu and the bao bun were really awesome! The main courses were also very, very good!

We "only" had the Vietnamese noodle soup (Pho Bo) with beef, sprouts and fresh herbs, which tasted very authentic. The portion was huge and more than filled us up. Extremely attentive and friendly service and a nice conversation about Vietnamese cuisine rounded off the visit. Highly recommended, we will come back next time we are in Traunstein.

Sehr komische Speisekarte. Unübersichtlich und zu wenig verständlich. Keine Tischdecke, keine Tischdeko. Besteck nur auf Nachfrage (Stäbchen sind Standard). Essen war ok. Schön angerichtet und frisch.

Ich habe gute gegessen meine Frau leider nicht. Was mich gestört hat, ist die Speisekarte. Für die meisten Gäste ist die Speisekarte nicht gut verständlich. Hier bedarf es meiner Meinung nach Handlungsbedarf. Insbesondere für ältere Personen. Horst aus Schleching.

Das Essen war super lecker und die Portionen sind meiner Meinung nach sehr großzügig 😊 Außerdem möchte ich besonders den tollen Service hervorheben, der sehr aufmerksam war. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Ich bin mit meiner Freundin eher zufällig im Golden Star gelandet. Ich kannte vorher die vietnamesische Küche nicht, aber ich muss sagen, dass ich selten so gut gegessen habe. Nach unserer Vorspeise (vegetarische Frühlingsrollen mit einer sehr leckeren Fischsauce) haben wir uns richtig auf jeden nächsten Gang gefreut. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Mein Gemüsereis mit Hähnchen schmeckte köstlich. Alles sah farblich ansprechend aus und schmeckte ganz frisch. Das Fleisch war von sehr guter Qualität. Innen zart und saftig und außen knusprig gebraten. Ich bekam eine sehr leckere Soße (schmeckte nach Mango, wahrscheinlich war Mango drin 😆) dazu. Obwohl ich nicht der größte Kokosfan bin, hätte ich mich in die Nachspeise (Kokosbällchen) reinlegen können! Wenn wir nicht schon so satt gewesen wären, hätten wir uns am liebsten noch eine weitere Portion geteilt. Die Einrichtung ist sauber und nicht ungemütlich. Wir wurden überdurchschnittlich freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Da wir angekündigt haben, dass wir uns die Vor- und Nachspeise teilen wollen, wurden uns die Frühlingsrollen aufmerksamerweise gleich auf 2 Tellern serviert. Auch als meine Freundin noch etwas mehr Soße zum Hauptgang haben wollte, wurde ihrem Wunsch gerne entsprochen. Wir waren mehr als begeistert von dem Essen und freuen uns schon darauf, bei unserem nächsten Besuch die anderen Gerichte auf der Karte auszuprobieren. Eine ganz klare Empfehlung für die vietnamesische Küche! Ich bin der Meinung dieses Lokal muss Traunstein unbedingt erhalten bleiben! Und falls jemand eine kleine Wohnung für den netten Juniorchef und seinen braven Hund in der Nähe des Lokals zu vermieten hat, wäre er bestimmt sehr froh, wenn man sich bei ihm meldet. Dann müsste er nicht mehr jeden Tag von München nach Traunstein und wieder zurück fahren.

Das beste vietnamesische Restaurant, in dem ich bisher war. Als wir das erste mal dort waren, hatten sie das Restaurant erst übernommen und wir hatten ein sehr nettes Gespräch mit dem Inhaber. Service: Der Service war jedes mal top - zurückhaltend aber aufmerksam und freundlich. Zum Essen: Hier verzichtet man bewusst auf billige Zutaten zum "Strecken". Bei jedem Gericht schmeckt man die gekonnte, authentisch vietnamesische Kochkunst (so weit ich das beurteilen kann... ;-)) - vielseitig, einzigartig und super lecker! Für mich war es beide Male, die ich bisher dort war, ein neues Geschmackserlebnis. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass man tatsächlich die einzelnen Zutaten und teilweise auch die einzelnen Gewürze herausschmecken kann und dennoch hat bisher immer alles wunderbar harmoniert. Fazit: Die selbstauferlegte Mission, authentisch vietnamesische Küche nach Traunstrein zu bringen, schmeckt man nach wie vor mit jedem Bissen! Wer hier mit der Erwartung eines "klassischen Asiaten" hingeht, bei dem alles irgendwie leicht exotisch, aber vor allem nach Glutamat und Fett schmeckt, der wird natürlich enttäuscht sein. Wer aber Neues entdecken und seinen kulinarischen Horizont erweitern oder aber einfach "mal richtig gut Essengehen" möchte, für den ist das Golden Star eine absolute Top-Empfehlung. Ich wünsche dem Team alles Gute und dass ihr euch etablieren könnt. Wenn es jemand verdient hat, dann ihr! Ein kleiner Hinweis von mir, den ihr vielleicht auch nicht zum ersten Mal hört: Macht euch sichtbarer (vom Stadtplatz aus)! :-)

Waren begeistert von unseren Gerichten; Bun Bo mit Rind und Mi Xao mit Crevetten. Sehr reichlich und toll abgestimmt. Auch der Salat super frisch und aussergewöhnlich gewürzt. Kann ich mit guten Gewissen weiter empfehlen und wir kommen auch gerne wieder.

Waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Golden Star und sind von der authentischen Küche und dem Essen positiv überrascht worden. Wir konnten die laue Sommernacht draußen, unten am Stadtplatz, sitzend genießen. Das Hähnchen in Erdnusssauce war ein Gedicht. ❤️ Auch innen macht das Lokal einen sehr gepflegten Eindruck - wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und probieren uns durch die restliche Karte! 🌼

Leider waren wir vom Essen enttäuscht. Sowohl von den gebratenen Nudeln, als auch vom Erdnusscurry und von den Dumplings.

Wir sind sehr enttäuscht! Wir haben über 1h auf unser Essen gewartet.. welches übrigens sehr teuer ist! Der Laden war nicht super sauber, überall hat mal dreck gesehen. Auch auf der Toilette! Generell war es sehr komisch dort. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste und trotzdem hat es sehr lange gedauert. Der Kellner wirkte als hätte er seinen ersten Arbeitstag gehabt. Immerhin war das Essen gut aber so richtig umgehauen hat uns auch das nicht! Da find ich alle anderen Asiaten in Traunstein um Welten besser! Also wir werden nicht mehr kommen!

Wir waren schon mehrmals zum Mittagessen im Golden Star - drinnen und draußen am Stadtplatz. Das Essen ist super lecker und man wird sehr freundlich bedient. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne ☺️

Wir waren zum entspannten Abendessen im Golden Star und sind begeistert von den beiden Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten die wir uns ausgesucht haben. Die WanTans und Mixed Dumplings sind den Preis allemal wert - wer die kleinen Biester schon einmal selbst gemacht hat, weiß wie schwer es ist, sie stimmig zu würzen und so zu falten, dass sie nicht auseinandergehen ;) und die Exemplare auf unseren Tellern waren stimmig gewürzt, lecker und schön! Hauptspeisen waren: Crispy Duck mit Erdnusssauce - die Änderung von Crispy Chicken auf Duck war absolut kein Problem. Cremige, leicht süße Erdnusssauce mit frischem Gemüse - kulinarische Handwerkskunst ohne unnötigen Schnickschnack. Zweites Hauptgericht war Crispy Chicken mit Tamarinde-Ingwer Sauce, Ananas und frischem Gemüse. Eine tolle Geschmackskombination der leicht säuerlichen Tamarinde, mit der Süße der Ananas und der frischen Schärfe vom Ingwer. Dazu gab es noch eine großzügige Schüssel Reis für mich und meinen Partner. Überraschend fanden wir die sehr gute Qualität der Weine auf der Karte, die schön zu den original vietnamesischen Gerichten passen. Der alkoholfreie Cocktail mit hausgemachter Kalamansi Limonade war ausgezeichnet. Auch ein paar Cocktails hat die Getränkekarte zu bieten, die wir definitiv bei unserem nächsten Besuch probieren werden. Wir freuen uns und bedanken uns für den ausgezeichneten Service, der nicht zuletzt einen Grund für einen weiteren Besuch darstellt.
