Golden Crown in Leipzig

This was our second time eating here. The selection is extensive, the food is good and tasty, and the prices reflect that. From the outside, the building looks a bit run-down, but the interior is quite cozy. The staff is attentive, regularly checking the tables to ask for drinks and clearing away empty plates. We'll be happy to come back here.

Nice and cheap all you can eat. However they didn’t fill up the sushi (completely empty) 1 hour before they closed.

The buffet consisted mostly of pre-fried stuff, some of which was not warm and very dry. Unfortunately hardly any Vietnamese influences, more of a classic Chinese buffet. Some contain a lot of glutamate, be careful if you are allergic. Service was very nice and I thought the price was ok too. But the food didn't convince me

If you ignore the surroundings of the Krone (neglect as usual in Connewitz), the Vietnamese restaurant is pleasant inside and the food in buffet form is very good. Large selection at the buffet from starters to dessert with ice cream. There were 9 of us and everyone was happy.

Very tasty and varied buffet! You get a lot for the small price. The three of us dined and we also really liked the interior design. Very courteous and quick service. We'd love to come back. Tip: make a reservation as it is busy.

Plenty of space. We still got a table for 5 without ordering during peak hours. We ate from the buffet. The food was delicious and the price was absolutely fantastic! The service was very friendly, but they were very busy keeping up with the number of guests, which was okay.

Very tasty food, plentiful buffet with a wide selection

We had dinner with seven people on Saturday evening. It was very busy, you should always book in advance on such days. The buffet was rich and tasty and was constantly refilled. We were all very satisfied!

We were here because of the outward friendliness towards vegetarians and vegans. Right from the start, every animal lover should be warned that there is a sad koi tank in the restaurant, otherwise the ambience is very beautifully designed and has an authentic flair. Let's come to the evening buffet. I'll now list everything vegetarian that there is. Rice, pasta, spring rolls, baked bananas, fries, mushrooms, sauce. That’s it for hot food. From a vegetarian perspective, that's a 4 minus. There is also a small selection of salads, some vegetarian sushi and ice cream. I would have liked something like a vegetable stir fry or something similar. There is a complete lack of fried zucchini, peppers and broccoli, or baked broccoli or tofu. So please, the restaurant is suitable for bringing a vegetarian, but definitely not a place where you should consciously go as a vegetarian or vegan. Even if the website advertises it

We had lunch here for a family celebration. All the dishes were very tasty and absolutely fresh. The service was always very friendly and quick.

The furnishings are really successful, it's very harmonious and you feel comfortable. The drinks are very expensive. I can't share the positive feedback about the food. Although it was well attended and there was a lot of people at the buffet, unfortunately most of the food was cold. No matter what dishes it is. The sushi was ice cold, like it had just come out of the freezer. Even the warm dishes were sometimes so cold that it was as if they had been standing there for several hours, but that couldn't be the case since there was a lot of people. So I suspect that the food is not freshly prepared, but that's just a guess. You can always argue about taste, but I think there is still room for improvement. We didn't notice much from the service. The table was only cleared when we asked and we also had to wait to order drinks until we could find someone from the service.

A great buffet with a large selection of wonderful dishes.

We were there for brunch. The food has been the same for years. It tastes good but you shouldn't expect too much. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired.

For €15.90 (without drinks) all you can eat buffet on a Friday evening, the Goldene Krone is a real recommendation. However, it is also possible to order from the menu. The parking situation in the area is very tense. The nearest tram stop is approx. 500 m.

Had dinner again on November 29th, 2024. Bufee is almost always empty and unfortunately almost always between cold and lukewarm, even if it is freshly refilled. But as I said, refilling leaves a lot to be desired.

You get what you pay for... Unfortunately I have to contradict the other reviews. Even at the cheap price I wouldn't come again. None of the dishes really taste good, the chocolate fountain is a bowl of warm, cheapest chocolate and the sushi is also of poor quality. You can just tell that a lot of savings have been made on all the ingredients here. Although we were here with 5 people and had already ordered other drinks, my request for tap water was denied on the grounds that the boss forbade serving tap water. There seems to be a system behind this, because the salty food cannot be tolerated without at least two drinks at €4 per glass. So you should expect a minimum of €20 per person. For the money you can get much better food in other restaurants. Only the ambience was quite nice, otherwise it would give 1/5 stars.

Very friendly staff, you can always get a seat even without a reservation. Very good selection of dishes (buffet), menu items can also be ordered. The price is also great and justified. Variety of salads, deserts, main courses with meat, fish or vegetarian.

The ambience is really very nice and seems harmonious, you immediately feel at home. Of course it's a bit noisy at the front, but there are also adjoining rooms. Personally, I find the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable and loud. Service are nice. I paid €20.90 for a drink and buffet meal...I found it a bit expensive. Next time I would have to go on an empty stomach, then it makes sense. But that was okay.

Almost cold food at the "warm" buffet, plus lots of flies in the room, it wasn't worth the money.

The buffet is very varied and sufficient. But it doesn't have much to do with typical Vietnamese cuisine. Except the Vietnamese mango salad, which was very tasty. Just adapted to European tastes. But the selection and taste of the food is perfectly fine. Also lots of salads and desserts. But the drinks are very expensive. This is probably where the most money is made. That's why only four stars. Very humid hot air in the guest room, despite fans. This really feels like Asia. 😅 Because it wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday evening, it was pleasant. I don't want to imagine the crowds at the buffet when the restaurant is really full. No printed invoice! But I would come back at intervals.

We were here for lunch today. The selection at the buffet was plentiful and everything was tasty. The jelly suddenly crunched and I lost all joy. I found the atmosphere quite okay. An effort has been made. I found the flies a bit annoying. There are options so that they don't constantly rush into food. All in all, we were full and satisfied. The price was okay too.

Yesterday we went to the Goldene Krone for a buffet dinner. The selection was plentiful and it tasted good too. The atmosphere could be a little nicer. All in all we were very satisfied, the 17 euros per person is an absolutely fair price.

Typical Asian buffet, very below average, sushi with a lot of cheap surimi. Staff nice but overwhelmed. Guest room clean but very crowded. Plates are rarely cleared and drink orders take a long time, despite there being many waiters. The price of €17 is right.

Food doesn't taste good. Buffet too small. Not a wide range of food. The waitress doesn't understand the order. Not a nice atmosphere. It looks like it needs some renovation. Or should we call it charm? Didn't feel like that. I wouldn't go there again.

Today we ended up in this great and authentic Vietnamese restaurant by chance. The service team, friendly and courteous, is always there without being intrusive. The furnishings are a dream, rustic, creative and original, something I've never seen before. The price performance ratio is very good. Personally, I would pay more for this incredible selection, quality and fine seasonings. We would like to thank you very much for your hospitality and we look forward to our return visit. An Asian restaurant that is unrecognizable from the name. We spontaneously wanted to eat at vonne Island (before the concert). There was already a lot going on right when it opened and we didn't have a reservation. We were given an hour and were able to sit down. We decided against the buffet, which in retrospect was the right decision because the buffet could only be reached by standing in line. So we ordered a la card. Ordering and serving the food went very smoothly. So we had enough time to eat without rushing. Thank you for the service. The food was very tasty 😍 We'd love to come back.

This is a very nicely decorated location. The prices for the buffet are incredibly cheap. €15.50 per adult and €8.80 for the child. And the offering is extensive and super tasty. You have everything from starters, main courses and desserts. You can even eat sushi. However, you pay extra for drinks. Even then, it's still a great offer. So if you're nearby or looking for something to go out for, you'll want to go to the Goldene Krone.

We went to the buffet today for Easter. The food was very tasty and filling! Especially the various ice cream and the Asian mango salad were an absolute culinary delight :-)

The biggest deduction is because of the underground organization. We had reservations for the evening and it was dreary. everything full. We therefore had to wait 20 minutes for a table, which is unreasonable if we had made a reservation in advance (as a tip: avoid weekend evenings there). The food was ok to good, the selection was rather mediocre. Drink prices are pretty steep.

Very frightening from the outside, the butterflies seem to have no respect, inside nothing has changed for years, just like the food, very tasty! A tip for the service, if it is relatively cold in the restaurant, you could at least turn on the plate warmer on Sundays (because the buffet price is increased) because you can have hot food, but when you sit at the table, the food is cold. A little tip to the service staff, an employee never places glasses where the guest takes the drink, especially they don't serve drinks on the edge of the glass, I hope I don't get diarrhea

You sit comfortably in a Vietnamese atmosphere. The all you can eat buffet is constantly being updated and is delicious. The service is first class. We recommend.

We were 4 couples, unfortunately the service was totally overwhelmed when it came to the drinks. The buffet was fine, when we brought our food to the table, hair was found in the food, which is an absolute no go. It disgusted me and For me, the meal was over. There doesn't really seem to be any hygiene there, regardless of the food there are dogs behind Therese, that shouldn't be the case either. Then it was time to pay 2 couples in cash and 2 couples with card. Then we wanted to be given the bills and we only received those who had paid by card. There was no bill for cash payments. Everyone can now think of their part. My opinion is that I would never set foot in this restaurant again.

We were a married couple in Leipzig to watch football and discovered the restaurant by chance because of all you can eat. Price performance good, friendly staff, had called, reservation was not necessary, very pleasant as there was a lot of space as it was a large room with high ceilings. Plenty of food on offer! The furnishings with all the wood are very successful. The buffet is very diverse and all the dishes I tried were very good. The peanut sauce in particular seems to be a specialty of the chef. The staff is very nice and considerate. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

In this restaurant we noticed that the waiters were constantly watching us, which created an unpleasant atmosphere. This made it difficult to feel comfortable and eat in peace. Unfortunately, the buffet didn't offer a large selection, but the delicious fruit deserves special mention. Nevertheless, a more pleasant service atmosphere would be desirable. Another point that marred our experience was the pushy way of pushing us to buy drinks even though we didn't want to. This further added to the unpleasant feeling and diminished the overall impression of the service. It would be desirable if the staff showed more sensitivity here. Another negative aspect was that the staff stood right next to the buffet and gave the impression that you should eat as little as possible. This contributed to an unpleasant atmosphere and influenced food choices. A more relaxed approach from the staff would certainly contribute to a more pleasant experience.
