Gokoreç in Berlin

We lived in Türkiye for a year and miss it more and more every day. One of the the things we miss most is Beyran- a lamb soup from Gaziantep. It is truly hard to find outside Türkiye even if it’s a Turkish restaurant. Well this place has it and it’s really good- just like back in Gaziantep. The bowl is served with bread and peppers and it is a must! Also the Adana dürüm is prepared on the grill and is just like back in 🇹🇷…no sauces, just great meat and lavash!

The music, service, and food were simply perfect. The kofte in bread was so delicious that I ordered another one.

Tell them you want to eat well-cooked İzmir Kokoreç and enjoy your meal.

After the name change, the quality of the kokoreç has decreased and the prices have increased. I just paid €12.50 for an Izmir kokoreç that I previously ate for €7.90. I think I won't be going there again.

Six of us entered the restaurant and asked if they had kokoreç. The cashier rudely said no, turned away, and went off to do something else. So we walked out.

It was the worst kokoreç I have ever eaten in my life. We went with 3 friends but we paid 30 Euros. But you cannot experience such a bad kokoreç anywhere else. We literally ate tomato paste between breads as kokoreç. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Try "Cag kebab im brot"; it's a quite good doner alternative.

LAN it already started where I went in. I didn't see any Kokorec at all. When asked if there were any, the seller said yes. then I told him I would like some. I saw that he prepared the kocorec in a pan. Added tomato paste and other stuff and he simply made menemen out of it. The guy doesn't have the slightest idea about Kokorec. Don't be taken by the pictures deceive.

100 grams of kokoreç bread is 10 Euros, it's very expensive, if you go there, you won't go there again anyway, the name of the shop is "situation".

Even though the famous horizontal kebab skewer is no longer available, the quality of the food is very good, very fresh and very tasty. The service friendly and professional. The price is reasonable.

Unfortunately, cag kebab is no longer sold. The smoke pipes coming out of the embers were clogged and they had to remove them, it's very sad. But if you want to eat Beyran, it tastes very good.

When we arrived the shop was empty, no guests but the tables had not been cleared and some were dirty. We weren't greeted very politely or even greeted. We had a Beyran soup that was just mediocre. I had ordered another cola, my companion said I should order a tea instead. When I changed my cola order, they replied: "You should have thought about it beforehand." Nevertheless, they brought me a tea. The tea was old and bitter. Rude and arrogant. Didn't deserve a tip. Get your life together. That wouldn't happen in Turkey, at least I've never experienced it like that. Definitely never again.

Pros: - Meat flavor is great (but you basically have to like lamb) - Bread good Cons: - Food is often very salty (I really don't mind salt;) - Portioning of meat is often “stingy” - Spit sometimes too fatty - Price/performance doubtful - Service takes some getting used to - no card payment

The food is very good quality and delicious.

Unfortunately, the “Istanbul kokoreç” was bad. It was full of tomatoes, it was impossible to see the kokoreç, and the bread was incompatible with kokoreç and tasteless. Cağ kebab was a little better.. The WC in the place was very clean.. The staff was also nice.

A very tasty lamb sandwich, the bread is light and airy like you would expect from real Vietnamese banh mi. Highly recommended.

My personal no1 Kokoreç place in Berlin. Makes you feel like sitting in your favorite grill in Istanbul. Self made Ayran, nice Şalgam, spicy Turşu, Çağ Kebap and Kokoreç, all delicious. Could eat there every day.

It is definitely a great place. Especially customer satisfaction is at the top level. They are polite and understanding. Don't be fooled by the bad comments, I think most of them are malicious or individual. We come once a month. I didn't like the mumbar very much, but the kokoreç and içli köfte were very good. The owner of the place also serves and takes care of the customers. It is the only one in London.

Why not? Before writing, I looked at the comments and realized that the things I wanted to write had already been written by others. Yes, I would like to point out that materials have been spared and unfortunately it has become a place where so much effort is wasted. There was a trace of Istanbul kokorec among the bread, and a trace of cağ kebab in the lavash. I left paying a bill that was not worth anything, and I was also forced to pay in cash. However, I will only lose once, and if the place goes this way and continues to negatively shape its reputation at such a rapid pace, it will be a waste of money. IT WAS VERY TERRIBLE. Meat was juicy and came with nice charred aromas. But the bread was to dry. Next time I will try the plate maybe.

The original Turkish cuisine as we actually know it. Without sauces, without really a lot of frills. Quality meat whose taste is also distinctive. The Cag Kebap was my favorite, something so tasty that I hadn't eaten in a long time - but still simple. The service was great, Turkish tea at that 🙏 I can't complain, one of the first spots I would go to if I was in Berlin again.

Unfriendly and overcharged. Soup smelled and tasted strange, the "pieces of meat" looked really unappetizing. Since the store doesn't specialize in soups, I suspect the soup came from the freezer. Because I probably had to wait 10 minutes for it. After a few spoonfuls I returned the soup, saying that the soup didn't taste good. The Bestizer, whose astronomically large photo also adorns his window front as a poster, replied that the soup was the best in Berlin and then overcharged me. 10EUR - no card payment possible. A pity.

I don't understand the few stars. Here you can get the original kebab as you eat it in Turkey. Sooo delicious meat, you don't need any sauces to cover it up. Go there, delicious.

You look at your place, it's beautiful but It falls short when it comes to price and performance. Is it 21€ atom? What is the cost? And when it comes to taste, if possible, close your business and go and do an apprenticeship with experts in this field. You can do it after mastering it Let's talk about the taste, it is beyond terrible, we have never eaten kokorec, it tastes like this, it is normal, or these kokoreç are made from materials that can be thrown away.

This is the best lamb meat kebab in Berlin. They also have the best Kokorec. If you think you are getting an standard Berlin Döner Kebab with a lot of cheap meat, you will be disappointed. If you want high quality meat experience, incredibly juicy you'll be happy! No need to drown everything in cheap sauce either, the meat speaks for itself.

Better doner than anywhere in London, bread was crispy on doner mit brot and the lamb was natural and well seasoned. As I said to him... Die beste...

While we were sitting and eating, we noticed that someone in the house was throwing stones at cars and passers-by...several cars were hit and damaged. The owners were also outside on site. Later, when the police came, the shop owners hid in the shop so as not to provide any data as witnesses. Apart from that, the soup tastes old and bad.

Kokorec. Ate once in Istanbul and loved it. I looked for Kokorec for a long time and found it in Berlin. Something different than kebab. Everyone should try it. Cool

I had a lamb head soup. Taste of the soup was not like the lamb head soup I know from other places in Berlin or Turkey. I didn’t like it at all because the soup was very peppery and the pieces of lamb head or lamb feet were very bad. Hardly any meat in the soup but there was lots of pieces of gelatinous bone pieces. The best thing about the soup was the fresh bread. It was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The price was 7.50€. The atmosphere was quite good and the service was ok. Other than that I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want a Kelle Paçe.

Crazy good! I'm surprised that there aren't any queues at the door here. However, you shouldn’t expect a “German” kebab. No wild sauces that cover up the really good meat with its wood fire aroma. 5*

I came here with my sister bc I’ve been hearing a lot about kokorec and wanting to try. I also got the cag kebab, it was good but not too special for me. But the kokorec is sooooo good it was so flavorful! My sis and I even ordered 1 more kokorec bc it was so delicious.

Kokoreç tastes so good and tastes like Turkey.

We thought the Cag Kebab tasted good. But for €20 you expect at least a filling side dish or a small starter. The three thin skewers came with a bit of bread and salad. You weren't really served but rather checked in. Your taste is really great, but you should also treat people you don't know kindly and welcome. Then the ratings could definitely look better.

There were more vegetables in the bread than meat. It's not kokoreç, but salad in bread with meat aroma. It is not the right address for Kokoreç. Untypical for a Turkish restaurant, you pay for tea here. But employees are friendly.

I never thought my first kokoreç experience would be this bad. Portions are very small and very little filling. Even though I purposely bought atomic kokoreç to eat a lot of it, there was very little in it and it was overwhelmed with spices. The price of 1 ayran is 2.5€, they are literally robbing people. I will never come again and I do not recommend it, it is definitely a bad place.

Kokorec was so bad, it left a terrible taste in my mouth.

I definitely do not recommend it, they put very little kokoreç, it is almost non-existent, there are more tomatoes in it, do not add it and it is with a lot of tomato paste, you cannot understand the taste of kokoreç. We tried it 2 times but we were definitely not satisfied, but the kelle paça soups were great, they do not make tomato paste from the original broth like other places, it cannot be compared to other places in Berlin in this respect. I recommend it but never because of kokarec

Delicious specialties Well thought out concept We had lamb dürüm, kokorec in bread and mumbar. The bread was deliciously toasted. More of a quick snack. The service was good, but you should make sure that the food is served at the same time. As a small improvement idea

Çag Kebab and Ayran taste delicious.. ..but points deducted for service (we have to become more professional when dealing with customers) and the meat is unfortunately relatively cold every time..salad and the taste of the meat are still very good..and the prices are pretty steep!

It's a pricier indulgence but certainly worth it for a memorable Berlin döner experience.

The food was tasty, but if you look at the photos and expect this food and the corresponding portion size, then unfortunately you have to say it was a disappointment. The sandwich with more meat was specially ordered, but in the end there was little to be seen. If there had been less meat on it, all that would have been left was an admittedly fluffy but still crunchy bread.

Kokorec könnte noch etwas mehr Character haben. Es schmeckt aber sonst sehr gut. Ambiente ist gar nicht cool. Man müsste die Musik ausschalten.

Der Service wäre auch 5 Sterne wert. Sehr lecker und hygienisch. Diese türkischen Spezialitäten gibt es nicht überall. Auch wenn es nicht das Hauptgericht ist : Die Suppen ist von einer anderen Galaxie. Das gibt es wirklich nicht besser im der Türkei. Man merkt das man sich die Arbeit gemacht hat un keine convinience Produkte verwendet.

Das Essen ist ganz okay Fleisch ist aber trocken und ohne Soße. Laden sieht junkiemäsig aus. Muss man nicht hin gehen.

Die Suppen und das Cağ kebap waren der Hammer. Wer „eingedeutschten“ Döner mit Mayo Soße sucht ist hier falsch. Hier wird authentisch gekocht, es geht um das Lammfleisch. Auf jeden Fall probieren, wenn man mal was anderes probieren will

Die kellepaca Suppe sah gut aus, aber schmeckte nicht wirklich. Es gab auch kein Grünzeug dazu. Das Fleisch roch für mich auch streng. Kokoreç okay aber nichts besodneres bin aber auch kenner. Mit dieser Preis-Leistung würde ich es nicht wieder holen.

Äußerst lecker, wer auf Lamm steht kommt auf seine Kosten. Ist halt kein 0815-Döner, kommt durch das fettigere Fleisch sehr gut ohne sauce aus. Perfektes Brot mit sehr geschmacksintensiven Lammfleisch, der pure Genuss, zumindest für mich.

Not the usual döner. A different place, different menu and high quality. Mostly or entirely lamb with a small selection of soup and other dishes that might work for anyone that doesn't like lamb. Relatively expensive but fully worth the money.

TR'deki kokoreç ve cağ tadı malesef yok. Kokoreçe, kokoreç demek haksızlık olur. Kokoreç tam bir hayal kırıklığı. Ama çalışanları iyi insanlar, anlayışlı.

Da geht noch was! Ich hatte richtig Bock auf den Döner, nachdem ich online nur Gutes gehört hatte. Die Idee von einem Lammfleischspieß, gegrillt über Holzfeuer, hat mir echt gefallen. Aber die Realität sah anders aus. Das Ding war fast nur Brot, mit mehr Zwiebeln als Fleisch. Und die Soße? Fehlanzeige. Ein bisschen mehr Fleisch, und ich hätte vielleicht über den Rest hinwegsehen können. Aber so war das Fleisch im Brot verloren. Ich bin ja bereit, für gute Zutaten auch mal mehr auf den Tisch zu legen, aber hier hat einfach das Sättigungsgefühl gefehlt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat hier für mich nicht gepasst. Ich bin echt enttäuscht und werde wohl nicht wieder kommen. Hier ist echt Potential für was Leckeres da, aber für mich hat's nicht hingehauen. Zu teuer für das, was man bekommt. Ich kann's leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

For me the best kebab in Berlin

Teuer und Portionen klein aber qualitat stimmt und ist lecker

Ich hatte Çağ Kebab gegessen und fand es sehr lecker. Das Fleisch war äußerst saftig und geschmacklich sehr gut, so dass es absolut keiner Sauce oder ähnliches benötigt. Lediglich der Preis ist etwas hoch, aber das gilt für den "Standard" Döner Kebab in Berlin ja mittlerweile auch, deshalb ist Gokoreç eine gute und spannende Alternative, die man auf jeden Fall mal ausprobieren sollte! Bzgl. Service und Ambiente kann ich absolut nichts negatives sagen!

Einfach mega lecker! Preislich voll ok...denn es ist top Lamm Qualität..alles frisch und sauber..mindestens 1 mal die Woche..
