Gohan - Sushi & asian restaurant in Konstanz

Very good food. The prices are a bit high, but like everywhere in Konstanz. The portions are just right, though. You don't get too little, but you don't get too much either. My meal was pleasantly spicy and otherwise very well seasoned.

The price-performance ratio is fair. It arrived very quickly, and the sushi sharing boat is highly recommended.

Very disappointing. Sushi rolls have far too much rice, especially for the price they charge. They have spider role, which everywhere else is with soft shell crab, but here is with shrimp. Would look for a different option.

The nauseating smell of Javel, or floor disinfectant, is the same as the bathroom. They're very friendly, but the sushi quality is low, but the presentation is beautiful.

Service was pretty quick, the food was good but a bit too greasy for my taste.

The lunch menus are really interesting! The selection is vast and we were satisfied. It's not the best sushi I've ever eaten, but it was still very good and not too expensive.

The ikura at Gunkan is so delicious, and all the other sushi is fresh, just as it should be if you want good quality. But the tempura really blew me away; I've rarely eaten something so crispy yet so tender and light in the batter. I recommend everyone try it. It was finally something that surprised me for the first time in a long time. All in all, I was simply happy after the meal.

Delicious sushi and gyoza. The takoyakis were also delicious. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant where you can eat with your eyes.

initially was very excited and quickly disappointed + service is extremely poor borderline shameful (servers were extremely prejudice towards every non-german person) nobody speaks proper german nor english to thoroughly explain menu or elaborate on dishes being served + servers use profanity in front of occupants overall the experience was poor, underwhelming shocking and disappointing, wasn’t worth the time or $

High rating and photos are very misleading. The food was a total disappointment. We tried soup, main dish as well as sushi. Everything was either dried out, greasy or over cooked. Even shrimps in the soup tasted as if you pulled them straight out of the fridge. Nothing interesting nor tasty. Avoid it, a lot of good places around.

You could call it a regular haunt by now. There's an ambient extractor for the restroom. Service is generally okay, and the staff are very reserved but friendly.

We visited the restaurant with friends on Sunday. Overall, we were very satisfied, but one thing: it's best to reserve a table in advance. It's a small restaurant, but very cozy and with delicious food.

Great atmosphere, price/performance is great.

We ordered curry with duck and salmon Don and were served the food and drinks very quickly. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The price is okay for the amount of food, the taste was also convincing, but it didn't blow us away, or we have eaten the dishes much better elsewhere. Still, it's worth a visit! :) The sushi was super fresh and tasted really delicious. Another little thing that bothers me personally: Unfortunately, my plate was cleared away while my partner was still eating. Personally, I don't like it that much, maybe it's because I work in the catering industry myself and have learned that it's a no-go. I understand that you want to clear up quickly, but it's nicer if you let the couple eat together first and then pick up the plates at the same time ☺️

Clear main menu if you don't necessarily want to eat sushi but everything is very tasty! We were there with 6 people (3 children/3 adults) and everyone was very satisfied. I found the price/performance to be appropriate. Nice ambience and nice service.

Food was good that even Asian ppl as me likes it a lot

Had dinner here. One starter and three types of sushi. Unfortunately the starter Takoyaki didn't taste good at all and the portion was tiny... I ordered fried sushi and it was ice cold and therefore tasted like stale oil... I often eat sushi but have never eaten cold fried ones. Serving something like that to a customer is a disgrace. Can't understand all the positive reviews. When we wanted to order the waitress said to us English please! OK...? I thought we were in Germany, why can't I order in German. Generally very unsympathetic and just not good. Never again

We ordered Takoyaki, Fried Salmon Roll, Salmon Mango Roll and Magic Roll. The takoyaki were very bad and the portion was also small. 4 takoyakis are fine, but these were so small that they don't even come close to the takoyakis in Japan. The Fried Salmon Roll was a complete disappointment. Not fully fried, cold, not crispy, but rather soft. It tasted too much like stale oil. It's far too warm in the restaurant (no proper ventilation???), and there are fruit flies flying around. The service itself was friendly, but the waitress who was in charge of our table asked us to speak in English because she doesn't speak German. I found that a bit strange too. I would never come here again and unfortunately I can't understand the positive reviews.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE HANDLING OF RESERVATIONS. We have arrived 10 minutes later, and waited another 10 min just to get seated. When someone FINALLY decided to talk with us, they told us it was late because they could only wait 20 min, but we only waited for a waiter for 10 min. Simply terrible and disrespectful.

This was our first time visiting Gohan – and we just loved it! We had the crispy duck with gyoza and mochi for dessert - everything was incredibly delicious! When we asked whether we could get cutlery, as we were still somewhat inexperienced with chopsticks, we were helped immediately and in a very friendly manner. The waiter was super friendly and accommodating! The fortune cookies at the end were also a great surprise – thank you very much for that! It certainly wasn't our last visit - we'll be back!😊💕

I absolutely loved the Gohan sushi restaurant! The selection of sushi creations is huge – everything from classic rolls to creative specialties. The quality is particularly noteworthy: the sushi tastes incredibly fresh, is visually very appealing and you can immediately tell that a lot of love and care is taken here. The portions are also impressive - the rolls are pleasantly large compared to other restaurants, which absolutely justifies the price-performance ratio. For what you get, you pay a very fair price here. The service was always friendly and attentive, you really feel welcome as a guest. The waiting times are a little longer than usual, but the wait is definitely worth it - quality takes time. If you love sushi, you should definitely try Gohan!

When it comes to the number of sushi restaurants, the bar in Konstanz is set very high. Gohan didn't blow us away during our visit, but the appetizer platter and the pace of service on a busy Saturday evening were still great, and we'll be happy to come back.

The food was incredibly delicious! Super friendly service who also speaks English. The atmosphere is cozy and appropriately designed. I especially recommend the dishes: Ebi Tempura (shrimp), the Tom Yang soup and the Crispy Onion Roll! The price-performance ratio is perfect, we were able to eat quite a lot for a not very high price. We've been there a few times now and it hasn't disappointed us so far.

which is an absolute no-go for us as people who like to eat out: although we had ordered starters + 3 main courses and another drink for two, we were refused tap water when we asked. a shame in a country where there is enough water and it should be a fundamental right worldwide... Basically you can't say anything against the kitchen

For me it's one of the best sushi restaurants in the area. Service sometimes leaves something to be desired, but the food is very good.

Sushi place that is has a good price to quality ratio. Not the best sushi place in Konstanz but most likely the best value for the price! We got a Sapporo sushi boat after having shared a miso soup and 4 pieces of Takoyaki to start. All in all, as of Mar2025, that came to a total of 75 euros. Which is not bad when you’re talking about a meal for 2. Fish was fresh enough and they also served some hot dishes. Good seafood!

Great, possible on the go... super fast and super nice

We always enjoy coming back to this restaurant because the food is truly delicious – we've enjoyed everything so far. The ambiance is pleasant, the restaurant clean, and the staff is friendly. However, we notice time and again that the service sometimes seems a bit chaotic. The employees often seem stressed, and it takes a long time to get the menu. The wait for the food is often quite long, too. It seems either as if there are too few staff or as if there are organizational problems. Nevertheless, we enjoy coming back because the quality of the food is impressive. If the service were a bit more structured, it would be perfect!

Worst sushi eaten in my life! Absolutely not good quality tuna, lukewarm rice much overcooked and questionable taste, fried shrimp with a frying left thicker than the shrimp with the taste of old oil. When we complained to the service, the waitress got upset and the kitchen never came back to us.

Very extensive menu, with pictures to help you understand what types of sushi are on offer if you don't know everything. Unfortunately, many dishes contain flavor enhancers. Very attentive staff, choosing beforehand on the internet helps, they arrive very quickly. Be sure to make a reservation on the weekend, it was full the whole time. Large selection of sushi, which are prepared directly. Next time we would like to try a selection.

Very nice restaurant and good Asian food

Today we were in this restaurant for the first time and we really liked the ambience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had to wait a little long for the menu cards. The edamame were too salty. We found the sushi to be tasteless. But that could be because the edamame was heavily salted. We found the consistency and taste of the salmon very strange. We really enjoyed the homemade Ginger Ninja and can absolutely recommend it.

So compared to other sushi shops here in Konstanz, in my opinion it is by far the worst sushi. It hardly matters what the contents of the makis are, they all taste the same, very small and very salty. The wasabi is colored horseradish. This is common practice since wasabi is expensive, but there was really no taste of wasabi here. At least I didn't have a stomach ache after eating, so two stars.

I have visited the Gohan - Sushi & Asian Restaurant in Konstanz several times and am always thrilled. The modern, Far Eastern-inspired ambience creates a pleasant atmosphere. The sushi creations are true works of art, freshly prepared and of first-class quality. In addition to sushi, the restaurant also offers a varied selection of Asian specialties, including Thai curries and bulgogi beef. The dishes are aromatic and authentic. If you're feeling a little hungry, there's also an inexpensive lunch menu starting at €8.90. The service is friendly and attentive. The takeaway service with a 10% discount is particularly practical. I will definitely come back and recommend Gohan - Sushi & Asian Restaurant to anyone who loves Asian cuisine.

Sushi is great, service is a disaster. Sushi was fresh and tasty, and the starters and desserts were also great. Unfortunately, the service ruined the evening. At first no tickets were brought to us, we had to get up and get some ourselves. Then we waited forever for the food, even between courses. Our dessert was completely forgotten. We had to reorder and wait again. Unlike all the other guests, we didn't get a fortune cookie either. There was nothing but an “apology” for the failed service. Very unfortunate...

It was good but not perfect. The food (sushi) wasn't as good as I expected. It took a while for the food to arrive. Otherwise the decoration was very nice. Even when I wrote this, I recommend that you go there. It looks very nice in this picture but my comment counts more than the picture.

I haven't eaten there in a long time and won't again from now on. The portion sizes have been massively reduced. The quality of the food used is also worse. Service was great. But not fan of fusion kitchen. Restaurant is presenting itself as a japanese restaurant, but it really is a fusion of japanese, chinese and thai. Food portion is large, but it misses the authenticity and quality of japanese cooking. In general a nice place for asian food. But its not the place, if you are looking for authentic japanese food.

There is a lot to choose from. Starters (salads, edamame, wakame etc.), main courses (udon noodles, rice, duck etc.), sushis (maki, rolls, nigiri, sashimi etc.), dessert and drinks. We recommend ordering the sushi of your choice and not the prepared sets. Price-performance very good. The sushi was fresh and rolled right at the counter. The restaurant was full, so ALWAYS reserve a seat by phone:) The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend fried sushi because, in our opinion, the frying oil was no longer “fresh” enough. In short: We would love to come back! Thank you :)

I ordered udon noodles and duck today. 1. they didn't have peanut sauce and 2. the portions were extremely small. 3. The food was also far too greasy and very bland.

We ordered curry tofu with vegetables and rice for take-away. When I opened the rice box at home I found spider webs in the rice... and the vegetables were very cheap, probably frozen vegetables. Unfortunately I had to remove everything, very disgusting!

This is by far the best sushi restaurant in Konstanz, or generally on the planet. You order and 2 minutes later the sushi is on the table. Great quality and the service is very friendly. The selection is huge and really, really tasty. The price-performance ratio is great and the ambience is also awesome. Maybe As a reader of my review, you can already tell that I'm really a fan. I've been going there for years and it's always very tasty🥳🙏

Wir kamen durch Online Rezensionen und den Preisvergleich mit anderen Sushi-Restaurants auf dieses Lokal. Unsere Erwartungen wurden hier gesprengt. Geschmacklich eines der besten Sushi meines Lebens. Auch preislich völlig im Rahmen. Super Service: Kurzfristig eine halbe Stunde vorher angerufen und freundlich erwartet. Sehr schönes Ambiente (Musik, Licht,…). Sehr weiterzuempfehlen. Wir kommen wieder!
