This was our second visit, and we were very happy again. The food was delicious and served hot, and although we had to wait a bit, it was definitely worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we will definitely keep coming back.

We love eating here, we were surprised how busy it could be on a Wednesday. The wait was a bit longer, but the waiters were super friendly. The food arrived piping hot and tasted sooooo good, as always 🥘🤤 The waitress was pretty (probably new, never seen her there before), but she still gave us advice on soup and suggested dessert. The cheesecake was so delicious, you guys, you don't believe it 😍 I want to eat it again right now! Next time, I'm going to order kimchi soup and cheesecake 😋 Trust me!! But parking is difficult, there's a parking garage.

Their fried chicken is a must-try. Their bulgogi was good as well. The portion sizes were however small considering the prize. It‘s also very disappointing that you only get to stay there for a max. of 90mins…

The service was downright unfriendly and strange. If you don't like your job, find a new one; no one's stopping you. The food was quite tasty. Ugh, but that server completely killed my appetite. "We'd like to pack this up." She: "Pack what?" Even if it's just a chicken leg, pack it up. Why such condescending comments? I regret leaving a tip.

Overall the food was good; but the Seafood Pancake is a must try, such a bomb, so so delicious 🤩 However, the boss is a little stingy with the side dishes, it’s not refillable (like most of the Korean restaurant does in Asia) and also some of the side dishes was given in very less portion, for example the pickled radish 🫢 one side dishes if to refill will cost 4€ 🤯

The restaurant is quite small and very busy, located on a side street just about 100 meters from the main train station. The food was delicious and arrived relatively quickly. They also always serve three small bowls of snacks beforehand. Since there was only one waiter present, and he was therefore very busy, you unfortunately had to actively get his attention if you wanted anything else.

Highly recommended! We got three delicious small appetizers to pass the already short wait for our food. The bulgogi and kimchi jjigae were truly delicious!

Gogi Matcha Korean restaurant was a really nice experience. The food was delicious and came out quickly, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Even though I came alone, I felt comfortable and enjoyed my time there. I would definitely recommend visiting with friends or family as well—it’s a must-visit in Cologne!

We were on vacation and staying nearby,so we decided to try this restaurant since it’s close by and offers Asian food I was really excited about. Reservations are required, so we booked for 9:00 PM and arrived on time. The food itself was very good specially the fried chicken. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. The staff member who took our order made us feel unwelcome, and our food didn’t arrive until 9:45 PM. That’s almost a 50-minute wait with no explanation or update, and we had only ordered chicken and stew. While the food was enjoyable, the lack of hospitality and poor service overshadowed everything. Sadly, we left disappointed and won’t be returning, even though the food was good.

The wait was worth it. We were told to come back in 30 minutes because we hadn't made a reservation... We did well to come back. We recommend it 100%. The food is very tasty. The young team does a good job, both in service and in the kitchen. All that's left is to find a solution for the boxes and the crates. I wish you all the best for the future; we'll be back.

Delicious food, but everything about service took a very long time

I visited around 7pm on July 22nd, and the seasoned chicken and kimchi pancake were delicious. The Korean server was friendly and served me comfortably without being too much. I was grateful that one Korean employee was there and served me kindly despite being very busy. The food was really delicious. If you have to eat Korean food in Cologne, I think you should come here.

2025/07/22 (17:00 reservation visit) From the moment I entered the store and was guided to my seat, a Korean part-timer showed me around, but her expression was not good. Since there was no air conditioning in the store, it was very hot while I was eating, and when I asked for ice to drink, she gave me ice like in the picture and told me to break it myself^^. She said, “Oh, what should I do with this?” as she gave it to me, and we who received it were also very embarrassed^^. However, the kimchi stew, soft tofu stew, and kimchi pancake were all really, really delicious. When she called to pay, she said briefly, “Oh, in front of you,” and even though she was in charge of her own table, she kept talking to another employee while she was paying, which made me very nervous. The food was really delicious, so I ate everything, but I felt really bad and angry because of the one Korean part-timer from the beginning to the end. I’ve been to other Korean restaurants, but this was the first time I’ve ever encountered a part-timer who treated me like this. And this store has an unusual 2 euro additional fee if you pay with a card other than a German card.

The price is not cheap, the main course is 17-20 euros, but the portion is enough, ordering an appetizer and a main course is actually quite enough for two people. The disadvantage is that the food is very slow, waiting for about 30-40 minutes. In addition, the rice is very unpalatable, hard and dry. It is the first time I have eaten unpalatable rice in a restaurant.

The food was good, and we were happy to finally be able to eat halal Korean fried chicken in Cologne. However, the service definitely has room for improvement. Unfortunately, the waitress wasn't particularly friendly—there's definitely room for improvement there. Tip: Make sure to make a reservation in advance, as the place is almost always busy.

Small but nice. The restaurant is really cozy and the food is good. The staff is also very friendly and serves you well. You can also see a good rapport between the employees, which also indicates good teamwork. I really recommend it. I had the golden fried chicken, which was very tasty and had large portions, and I also took the rest to go. It can be a bit loud at times, but that was largely due to the customers. They mostly play K-pop music, which is something different and also very pleasant. I really enjoyed it, so it was really great. 👍

Food was amazing been on my bucket list for a while now. Kimchi was fantastic. Just wish there was a/c with the heat being crazy hot recently. But it was great eating authentic Korean food especially since I haven’t had it in a while. Although I was in Korea for 2 years I can definitely recommend this to friends and family who are looking for some great food. We will be back whenever visiting cologne

The room is modern but unfortunately very noisy. It's a good idea to reserve a table. We went there without a reservation, and the service wasn't particularly friendly. We felt rushed off. They didn't even ask if we wanted any more drinks. Instead, they just asked, "Ready?" even though our glasses were empty and we really wanted something else. Now for the food: The menu is nicely kept small, and the pork belly was very tasty. Unfortunately, I missed the additives in the food (maybe I was blind). In terms of price, I found it a bit overpriced, and because of the noise (I don't know how loud it is with the windows closed), it wasn't very cozy either.

We were there spontaneously yesterday, but I'd recommend making a reservation. I had the Doenjang Jjigae, and it was really delicious. The vegetarian selection is small, but tasted great. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The food itself was quite tasty. However, the prices are quite steep. The quality of the food was consistently good. However, the ambiance is very spartan. Since the food isn't cheap, you'd expect a bit more attention to detail. The restrooms are unfortunately not clean and have a strong odor, which is a no-go for a restaurant. There are no tiles on the wall in the bathroom, and the trash can in the toilet is overflowing with paper. I'm torn between recommending it and not recommending it. On the one hand, the food was good, but the ambiance lacks any justification for the price.

Unfortunately had a very weird experience here where I got scammed with change. I wanted to pay in cash for my dinner and gave the waiter a 50€ bill to pay for 22€ dinner. He gave me back 8€ instead of 28€. When I told him it’s too little he started arguing that I gave him 30€ not 50€. We went back and forth a few times. He insisted he saw me giving him 2 bills, which just wasn’t the case. He agreed to count the cash in the register to see if there’s any access and after 2 minutes of “counting” said that everything is correct. I left because I thought maybe I was imagining things, but tbh e more time went by the more clear I remembered giving him a 50€. Here’s what I think happened: he was holding the 20 & 10 bills to give me change and then asked me if I have 2€ extra so he can give me round change, I said I don’t and to round it up. He must have got confused in this moment and thought that was the money I gave him. That’s fair, happens. But to “count” the money and then so blatantly lie that everything is right is just unacceptable. I left with a very bad feeling after this.

Unfortunately, the hand wasn't tasty at all, it was very tough and streaky. The sweet chili sauce was quite good but a bit too much and too powerful. The portion was very large but as I said, the meat was unfortunately not edible. Very unfortunate

The name of the restaurant is very special. Gogi macha combines the Korean word for meat and the Japanese word for matcha. It is an authentic Korean restaurant located at the back station of Cologne Train Station. The restaurant is very popular, so it is strongly recommended to book a table in advance during meal times to avoid missing out. Since every Korean dish is very delicious, it is suitable for sharing with many people. Barbecue, fried chicken, tofu pot, seafood pancakes, etc. are all very authentic. In addition, the side dishes are free like some Korean dishes, but you have to pay extra here...

I had one dish and it was worth it!

We were there on Saturday and had an excellent meal. Chicken was wonderful and the service was very good, even if a drink was forgotten. It suddenly got really full, so that's absolutely understandable and the drink wasn't included in the bill. Be sure to reserve on the weekend! We will definitely eat there again!

Nice shop in the shadow of Cologne Cathedral. The food at the table (vegan, pork, beef) all looked delicious.

I love Korean food, but I was surprised that there were hardly any vegetarian options. I think there were only two or three options, which is very few compared to other restaurants of this type. It would be ideal if they improved this as more and more people are vegetarian and it should be more accessible to customers with this preference. Other than that everything was fine. The quality of the food and the ambience were pleasant.

The Gogi Matcha brings Seoul back. I felt like I was on a short vacation in South Korea. I have rarely visited a Korean restaurant that was so authentic. The wall decorations, the video from Seoul, the house vegetable side dishes immediately arrived and Cass beer couldn't be missed either. The Yang Nyeom Chicken, with sweet spicy sauce, was excellent. I had the set, and I would have loved to go a second night. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked. So it's worth making a reservation. My absolute recommendation and I would love to come back.

Nice location with good food can be summed up in a nutshell. The restaurant is very plain and simple. Location very central next to the train station, musical and hotels. The food was well done but, in my personal opinion, rather too expensive. However, the biggest negative point here is that there doesn't seem to be any ventilation or etc. That's why the air in the restaurant is stagnant even though the door is open and you can smell a bit of fried food after your visit, which is really a bit unpleasant.

I had a German-style Korean meal next to the train station, which was different from Korean-style Korean food and American-style Korean food. The side dishes were three things I'd never had before - fried sweet potatoes, one type of chili, and another type of chili. There are more pork belly in the tofu pot than the tofu; the stir-fried beef is not as good as my knife skills.

Not recommended !!! Surely overpriced for the quantity of meat provided in any dish. I ordered cheese buldak which supposed to be full of chicken meat but rather half the dish was replaced by mushroom and other junk.

Ich wollte einen entspannten Abend in einem koreanischen Restaurant verbringen und bin ohne Reservierung hingegangen. Mir wurde ein Platz in der Mitte zugewiesen, was für mich kein Problem war. Allerdings wurde mir gesagt, dass die Zeit zum Essen begrenzt sei, obwohl das Restaurant eine ruhige Atmosphäre hatte. Außerdem musste ich über 20 € ausgeben, um mit Karte zu zahlen – das war für mich in Ordnung, aber die Zeitbegrenzung fand ich seltsam. Der Service war leider unfreundlich. Die kleinen Vorspeisen wurden wortlos und lieblos auf den Tisch gestellt. Ich hatte Chicken Dumplings bestellt, bekam aber überwiegend Gemüse Dumplings. Als ich das ansprach, wurde ich nur halbherzig abgespeist. Einpacken lassen konnte ich mein Essen auch nicht – mir wurden nur die Verpackungen gegeben, um es selbst zu tun. Beim Bezahlen stellte sich heraus, dass die Person an der Kasse die gleiche war, die mir das falsche Essen gebracht hatte. Sie reagierte ohne große Entschuldigung und zog mir lediglich einen Euro ab, da Chicken teurer gewesen wäre. Insgesamt war der Service enttäuschend, und ich habe mich nicht wohlgefühlt. Ich werde nicht wiederkommen.

Small, bustling Korean near the train station. Opens at 5 p.m. and was immediately full. Lots of young people. People tend to sit close together. The food is typically Korean powerful. We could only stay for 1.5 hours and then the next ones came. But highly recommended

I always like to try Korean restaurants when I’m visiting another country and this place didn’t disappoint. While it wasn’t completely the flavors from home (which is understandable bc you can’t always get the same ingredients as in Korea when you’re abroad) it was still delicious. We got the soft tofu soup and the kimchi jeon. The jeon was perfectly crispy, just the way I like it. The server was also incredibly kind and attentive despite it being a super busy Saturday evening

Stumbled across this place during a trip with work. The staff were nice enough to accommodate us without a reservation and the food was great. The chicken was lovely and we struggled to finish. I would recommend this place for nice Korean food. I will visit again. Thanks

Very authentic Korean cuisine right in the heart of Cologne. Be sure to reserve. Food came very quickly and tasted excellent! Cool atmosphere. We were thrilled. We'll definitely be back! A small but nice shop with extremely delicious, high-quality, authentic Korean food!! I ordered a portion of 불고기 (Bulgogi = beef marinated in a sauce and fried with some vegetables) and got a decent portion with a reasonable amount of rice, it was really incredibly good, the sauce was slightly sweet and the flavors harmonized with each other. I also ordered the 간장 치킨 (Ganjang chicken= fried chicken in a sticky gochujang sauce) which was also very tasty. The ambience is pleasant and even though it is a relatively small shop, they don't pack the place full of tables. The staff were also personable and attentive!! All in all a 10/10, I'll definitely come by more often!!

The service is amazing and very clear and concise in the delivery and managing table. Was a bit disappointed that they took bimbap away from the menu. The seating by the window is a bit DIY. The spicy pork is a must order. The dumplings are decent. The fried chicken is worth it. Definitely a good vibe within a stone throw from the station.

The food was really great and really plentiful. We were a larger group and let the kitchen choose the dishes, which was a very good idea. So we could taste everything. Everything was very fresh and extremely tasty. The spiciness was pleasant, not too much. The atmosphere is very simple and the service is friendly but obviously unskilled, hence 1 star deducted.

Disaster! We have visited many times, everything used to be okay, but tonight we could only rate it as "worst". Bulgogi tasted like rubbish rags stuck together, we couldn't even find a whole slice or strip of meat, only in small pieces. Condition was okay, takes a bit of time, and one is always standing at the counter looking around but not doing anything. Never again!

Delicious Korean food and very nice staff. Atmosphere rather pragmatic. We were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen was still open on Sundays at 9:30 p.m. so we were able to eat something.
