Glut & Wasser in Oldenburg (Oldb)

After two hours, we were told that the table had to be vacated because a group that was already waiting wanted to be seated there. There was no sign of the group. We found this very strange. Was it because we didn't want anything else to drink at that moment? Perhaps we would have liked something later. The emails also didn't mention that the table was only booked for two hours. We then moved on to get another drink. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere, and the drinks are cheaper!

Because of the great atmosphere, the good service and the delicious food, I'm always happy to come back!

It was once again a successful evening. The food was prepared quickly and was very tasty. Everything is always very fresh. The staff was courteous and very friendly. We'll see each other again soon!

I really liked the interior design. A colleague chose the restaurant because I only eat plant-based foods and am no longer in the mood for chickpea curry. The selection here is a lot better than anywhere else. When I go out to eat with others, it is often difficult to find something suitable. Often there is only one plant-based dish, usually chickpea curry or only plant-based dishes. There is a good selection for me here, in addition to burgers such as potato snow, in different variations. I have the Vegenen with guacamole, fried onions, vegetables and mushrooms. I was expecting fluffy mashed potatoes from “Schnee”, but it was very good mashed potatoes that were still fried a little in the pan. The guacamole went very well with the potatoes and the vegetables, mushrooms and onions. I come to Oldenburg often and will eat there again. Definitely recommended for people who want to eat vegan. My colleague, a Texan and his first time in Europe, had the pulled pork fries. He thought the pulled pork was very good, then I'll believe that.

Actually, it's a very nice, trendy place with one important but. The drinks are modern and there's a wide selection, but the food is Metro-style ready-made food thrown together by people on part-time jobs with instructions. Plus, prices like those at a Michelin-starred restaurant—that's just not acceptable!

The Glut&Wasser is small and inconspicuous at the Oldenburg harbor...but it becomes even more impressive when you look inside the restaurant. The “own” style invites you to linger. You can order via IQ code or in the traditional way at the service. Note here: the portions are definitely larger than they look in the pictures ;) The menu is not overloaded and also offers space for culinary enjoyment, both vegan and vegetarian!

It's absolutely beautiful, friendly, and pleasant. I'm thrilled with the free toiletries in the restroom, the super nice ambiance, and the absolutely wonderful service. The food tastes amazing! And the specials are top-notch!

It's a bit cold right by the water...the waiters could ask if anyone would like a blanket while ordering....

Beautifully located on the water, friendly staff and great ambience.

Based on the many positive reviews, I expected a lot. We were still able to get a spot without a reservation, so positive. Unfortunately the tables are pretty "rocked"... by that I don't just mean the table we were sitting at, but all of them. The paint is cracked, lots of paint damage. Basically a 9 euro IKEA table that has lost its paintwork. Unfortunately the bowl was less than average and too expensive at 19.90. With a bowl for 19.90 I expect something...

We were there yesterday with 4 people. Apart from me, none of my friends knew the store. We had reserved a table (which worked very well online). We were warmly welcomed and didn't have to wait very long for our food. Everyone thought it was very tasty. As a fries fan, I really like both the regular and sweet potato fries there. And the truffle mayo - hmmm ☺️ We'd love to come back.

There is no paper menu. If you want to see the menu, you can only do so via your cell phone. Works better with Apple than with Android and leads to stress because it doesn't work properly. Choosing food on the small cell phone screen is difficult. The cheeseburger with fries was okay, but completely over-seasoned in one place. The fries were crispy on the outside and soggy on the inside. Probably fried too hot. Likewise the fried fish with fries. The fries were too seasoned for our taste. Anyone who charges such a high price for standard snack dishes should also deliver the corresponding quality. The ambience is partly gray concrete walls which did not create a pleasant atmosphere for us. We will not visit this restaurant again.

We were there in a larger group. The service was great and it was relatively quick considering there were 6 of us. However, none of us were impressed by the food. The fries were good - but very strongly seasoned, not just salted. Unfortunately, the burger patties were far too thick, there was a lot of gristle meat in them and the bun was completely soggy after less than 5 minutes that you had to scrape the bottom side off the plate with a fork. The sauce was good, but way too much. We would have expected more for this price range and will therefore not come back again.

Overall 3 stars because previous experiences were better - so the overall picture is better than the last experience. Table ordering via internet, reservations until 7.15 p.m. for a maximum of 2 hours, rather unusual. I understand the idea behind it, but it could be politely phrased as a non-binding statement. Reservations from 7.30 p.m. with no time limit....?! You can only view the menu with a tablet or smartphone, very confusing, difficult to scroll back and forth. After scanning, the menu for the Pfefferprinz Restaurant opened on my companion's smartphone. Wine selection very limited and unknown to the service staff. The food came in a reasonable time, my burger was cold and the patty was dry and hard. Overall service was friendly, hence the 2 stars.

We like to go to Glut & Wasser, they have delicious burgers and the potato snow is super delicious. However, it annoys me when you have to call up the menu on your cell phone and then everyone sits at the table with a cell phone. The waiter was friendly but somehow he also seemed a bit arrogant. The atmosphere is beautiful and we are looking forward to sitting outside again in the summer

We were totally satisfied with the service and the food.

It was incredibly tasty, the portion sizes are such that they fill you up really well without making you think, "Man, should I maybe order more?" The restaurant itself is beautifully and comfortably furnished, I don't think it's a bad thing that there are "limited" reservations of tables (especially at peak times), as you also have the option of going to the bar afterwards if you want to have a drink and chat - perfect! Personally, I'm not a fan of menus on my cell phone because it's somehow confusing for me because I'm very reluctant to make decisions, so that's a point deducted.

Absolutely outrageous drink prices and drink sizes. 0.2 liter bottles are a disgrace. Just under 6 euros for a 0.5 liter beer. The prices for some dishes are sometimes incomprehensible. The location and atmosphere is great, but not enough to convince me to come back a second time.

The atmosphere is very nice and the service was also very friendly. Unfortunately, parking spaces are very limited, so you have to be lucky in the corner. Unfortunately, our burgers weren't as tasty as we had hoped. Very greasy and unfortunately the betties were too thick, so you just tasted meat. Unfortunately the price was also very expensive, so I paid almost €90 for two people with drinks and an appetizer. For the price we weren't happy with the food at all. Won't be coming back.

2 out of 5 people were not satisfied with their food. Potato snow lukewarm, crumbly - too firm and the puled pork also lukewarm, rather cold. The protein punch was very good on the menu, but the execution was rather unimaginative (salad, carrots, lentils with a sauce that tasted like ready-made sauce and lukewarm beef balls). The other bowl (Chimichurri) was very tasty. However, €18 for a vegetarian bowl is not that good value for money. The burgers were great, the fries were ok. After 10 p.m. we no longer felt so welcome. Closing the kitchen is completely ok at this time. Cleaning up the kitchen too. We didn't think it was okay that there was a big black garbage bag on the stairs to the toilet. The outside door was open - did they want to get rid of us? We had to ask to close the door. The service was attentive and friendly. The digital map was easy to open with Apple devices, but there were problems with Android. We were given an iPad. We found the structure of the map rather confusing - we had a hard time. They couldn't offer us a printed card. “I would be happy to bring you an iPad” was the answer from the service person, which I found to be a bit “pushy”. Official opening hours are until 2 a.m. on Saturdays. Around 11 p.m. there was a notice of the last round - yes, there were only two tables left... We no longer felt welcome there. Left almost €400 there. probably won't be coming back any time soon. I've been there repeatedly since the store opened. In my opinion, the quality of the food has deteriorated over time. Just 3 years ago I thought that Glut & Wasser was special for special occasions. I didn't experience that today. Too bad.

The fact that the card was only accessible via a QR code was really annoying. Better on paper or - if electronic - a tablet for everyone the pictures and writings were difficult for my parents to recognize. We still had a great time and the food was delicious!

The menu is only available digitally, data protection wasn't okay, so our table got a tablet without the option to zoom, so don't forget reading glasses ;)

Very good burgers and very friendly service.

We have been visiting the restaurant at irregular intervals for years and have always been satisfied. Unfortunately not yesterday. The cauliflower only saw the stove from afar. He was hard and lukewarm and consisted mainly of stalks. You had to look for cauliflower fritters. The potato snow fell off the fork, because strangely enough crumbly.

Great service, very accommodating. We - 6 people with different demands - really enjoyed the food. Everything from vegan to vegetables and meat. Reservation of seats went easily online. The toilets are in the basement, which was a point deducted because there is no elevator. We'll definitely be back, thank you very much.

Very cozy restaurant that is located directly on the Hunte in OL. We had delicious burgers (not standard) with well-made fries.

After making the reservation, we were sent a Christmas menu by email from which we could also choose. We chose a 3-course menu and ordered by email. So all we had to do that evening was choose drinks. The service via email and in the restaurant was excellent. The food was a culinary delight and we also liked the ambience. Only the background noise is a bit loud, but after a while it's no longer noticeable. We'd love to come back ;)

We came based on recommendations and unfortunately we were not convinced. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio does not match the quality of the food and service. If I charge €6 for a cola [0.4l], then it should be served with a little friendliness. We had 5 different dishes. While the starter was quite good, the main courses were unfortunately not convincing. It's a shame, we expected more.

Glut & Wasser offers excellent food and friendly service. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The burgers in particular were really tasty. Price performance fits. You can park at the cinema and get there quickly. Unfortunately, the digital menu is a bit confusing due to the shop system and the need to have a cell phone at the table lowers the inhibition threshold to use it for other purposes. Maybe I also like simply leafing through a map. Optionally you can also order directly online, but this is not mandatory.

Beim Betreten des Lokals kam gleich ein Mitarbeiter auf uns zu, um uns zu begrüßen. Da wir ohne Reservierung kamen, wurden wir am Mitteltisch platziert. Der Service kam schnell, bot auch die Aktionsgetränke an. Die Bierauswahl war überschaubar, aber gut. Die Getränke waren gut. Das Essen kam dann rasch, wir hatten Burger bestellt. Die Burger waren leider eine Enttäuschung: strukturloses viel zu fest gepacktes Fleisch, trotzdem unangenehm viel Knorpel. Sehr wenig Sosse auf dem Burger. Der Salat bestand aus recht viel mit Spiralschneider bearbeiteter Gurke, das war sehr schwierig zu essen. Die Pommes waren etwas überwürzt aber ansonsten ok. Einen Burger würden wir uns nicht wieder bestellen. Insgesamt ein mittelmässiges Erlebnis: Service super Getränke gut Essen ausreichend Ambiente super

Should everyone put together their menu for business lunches on their cell phone? and pay straight away...? If it sounds spooky, it is. But the good old process of ordering at the table and then paying is still possible. A pleasant visit and good food....

Although I'm all for sustainability, I don't always have my smartphone with me and found ordering on a tablet strange. It disturbs the atmosphere. Then it's better to use the card in the stand on the table instead of the QR code. But the food was very good and made up for us.

For a side sauce an additional €2.20, ketchup/mayonnaise €1.20 and for a special 0.4l €6.20...... I think it's too expensive....

Unfortunately, the patties tasted like frozen goods and, strangely, were extremely firm. All in all it was okay, the waiter was nice and the ambience was good, but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired.

The two of us ate here. The dishes (burgers) were very expensive. Here you have to budget over 19 euros per dish/person. Unfortunately, the firm consistency of the patties in particular was rather unconvincing. A large Coke 0.4 cost 6 euros. We paid 4 euros for a piece of cheesecake. The cake tasted watery and flaky. When we asked, it turned out that we were given frozen cakes for the money. We thought that was pretty cheeky. We don't have to go out to eat for that. For the price we want fresh food and will therefore not come back.

The ambience of the restaurant is really nice and cozy, you can feel at home here. When it comes to food, however, the price-performance ratio isn't quite right for me. The dishes taste good, but sometimes seem like convenience and not very homemade. The fries were rather sticky, and the burger patty was reminiscent of an industrially produced product - densely pressed and without the juiciness you would expect from a fresh patty. Given the prices, I would have hoped for significantly more quality and craftsmanship here.

The food tastes very good and I also liked the selection. Unfortunately, the loaded fries are sticky, which is why they lose one star. Wow, what a location. Great ambience in the Oldenburg harbor and therefore very central. Here you can find burgers, bowls, a few classics, pulled pork, desserts and cakes. Plus a hip drinks menu with local gins. We had the whiskey burger with sweet potato fries, a variation of fries with fried vegetables, fries with pulled pork and potato snow with pulled pork. The burger was ok, but also more of a result of a tight system catering. Rather a bit dispassionate. All other dishes were very disappointing. Little spice and pep in 3 meals is no coincidence. The fries variants are served in a casserole dish with the main character of each variant on top. What initially looks pleasant ends in disaster. Logically there were only soggy fries in a soup of sauces and juices. This style of plating would have changed my choice of dish if I had known, because that's just how it had to end. I have never eaten pulled pork without smoke flavor. Isn't this prepared in a smoker? The drinks menu tries to offer something special, but the prices are also increased. That's ok if the quality is right. It's not true for the raspberry spirit, which is annoying at 5.90 euros. The appointment was made in advance and then emailed several times to inform us of the date. In the restaurant we were brought to the table and told that we had to vacate it in 2 hours. Why wasn't this information included in one of the emails that referred to the reservation? That would be fair because you could cancel if you didn't like it. Unfortunately, we had service staff who seemed relatively clumsy when we asked questions and didn't try to compensate for this with personal effort to leave a hospitable impression. The menu has to be studied on your own smartphone and that's exactly what I don't want to have on the table on a nice evening with friends. There is no analog card, which also represents an unnecessary barrier for older visitors. Unfortunately, this restaurant disappointed me, but that's probably due to my expectations. There is system catering here in a great ambience close to the city center. The food is average. If you're looking for something different, keep looking.
