Great Italian music! Very friendly and attentive service. It was pleasantly quiet for us. We enjoyed it in the lounge chairs and on the terrace with a glass of wine. The espresso from the portafilter machine is highly recommended. The pizza was delicious. We would recommend it.

Last night we ate homemade tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms and walnuts – with a hint of chili. It was delicious… Highly recommended!

Well, what can I say? It was simply a jackpot for us. We were lucky that there was live music today, and even if that hadn't been the case, it would definitely have been a fantastic evening. Everything was to our complete satisfaction. The waitresses, the owner and his wife – superb, friendly hosts and people! We came here spontaneously and luckily got a table for four. The service was super friendly, attentive, and very child-friendly. The pizzas arrived quickly and tasted excellent, just like in Italy. It doesn't get any better than this. The value for money is good. Overall, we highly recommend Giovanni's!

Hello everyone, I ordered a pizza and a calzone to take away for myself and my wife and picked them up. The lady at reception was nice, but I can't say much more about the service. As for the food!!! I could see that the pizza maker had thoroughly treated both dishes with garlic oil before packing them up. If you like it!!! When we arrived at our holiday apartment, we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, the oil was already running out of my pizza box and the calzone was a lump of dough soaked in oil. The taste unfortunately doesn't have much in common with good Italian food. We think they could have asked about the oil beforehand. Italian food can be done differently, but this was not an enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, some of it went in the bin. Unfortunately, I can't judge how the food is in the restaurant, but I wouldn't want to have to eat what we had again.

Excellent food and ambiance and service

We arrived at this restaurant full of anticipation and hunger, but neither the food nor the dishes offered were entirely to our liking. One person received the wrong dish, and another received a fried insect on their pizza. The service was friendly and prompt. We'll look for a different Italian restaurant next time.

It's such a cute place, with amazing frond- and back of the house! The vitello tonato and the pizza's here are amazing. Everything is home made and fresh. Something you can taste. I'd love to go back when I am in the neighbourhood and would recommend everyone. Prices are very affordable and the love and freshness are noticeable with every bite.

We went to Zell to try something new. That's how we discovered Giovannie's Pizzaria. The two of us sat outside under beautiful old vines that protected us from the sun. The food came quickly and the quantity was very good. The pizza itself was good. The saltinbocca was just okay. The pizzeria is located in part of an old castle, which makes it very interesting. We don't know if we'll come back. It was good, but whether it's good enough for a 30 km drive... well, that's a mystery.

Das Essen war lecker und frisch, die Pasta hausgemacht. Die Bedienung war super freundlich und sehr bemüht – man hat sich richtig willkommen gefühlt. Wir hatten etwas Pech, da wir nicht reserviert hatten und recht spät kamen, sodass nicht mehr alle Gerichte verfügbar waren. Trotzdem hat man sich große Mühe gegeben und uns noch ein tolles Essen gezaubert – das war wirklich aufmerksam und herzlich. Die Weinkarte ist ebenfalls sehr gut sortiert. Gerne wieder – beim nächsten Mal mit Reservierung!

I was there last Sunday as a guest for a communion. Service: really great people, attentive, helpful - cool with every situation. Food: sensational and far beyond expectations. The bruschetta alone was a blast. We will be visiting here more often.

The restaurant has an extensive pizza selection and selected pasta dishes. The atmosphere inside with the vaulted ceiling is very pleasant. The pizzas are extremely tasty. Thin dough topped with fresh ingredients. Maybe it's because of the attached restaurant that the service is so extremely attentive. Really TOP! Reserved, polite and yet always attentive and in sight. Our pizzas were served when a Sphm happened to be at the location. They then offered to keep the pizza warm in the oven.

Conditional recommendation. Great atmosphere in the vault. Service a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately the price/performance or price/quantity was not right for the antipasti starters, tasty but unfortunately far too little. Pizza very tasty. Pasta dishes were okay, but parmesan would have helped...unfortunately, at 6 p.m. on a Sunday, some of the daily specials were no longer available, and after we ordered there was no more pasta (probably homemade) for the guests after us. No menu for Limoncello, Grappa and Co, but available upon request. Unfortunately everything was a bit "shirt-sleeved", but we were full, 6 people in their 40s. Not 4 stars, especially because of starters. Otherwise a four.

Great restaurant with a nice ambience and really Italian cuisine. The pizzas taste like in Italy. The edge is a bit thick and the base is thin 👍 The staff is very friendly and attentive.

We can only agree with the good reviews. Here we still make everything ourselves, fresh pasta like in Italy and for us the best pizza in Zell. Extremely friendly service and it's very pleasant to sit in the courtyard with the romantic view of the great old building. A little insider tip for us. We'd love to come back!

Reserved a table at Giovanni's on the recommendation of the Wanderlust shop. And our conclusion... We'll be back. The appetizer was delicious, but the pizza... Wow, it put all the pizzas in the shade. Incredibly tasty. Great dough, fresh ingredients. The service, very friendly and attentive... This restaurant is recommended without exception. As I said, not our last visit.

The best Italian in Zell an der Mosel!

For me personally it's more of an average pizza. Unfortunately, the Lambrusco had almost no carbon dioxide left. Smaller bottles could perhaps help here. But service-oriented employees and a nice atmosphere. We were kindly offered a table quickly on the weekend without a reservation. But we were lucky because all the tables were otherwise taken.

From the homemade pizza with a perfectly thin, crispy base to the pasta that tastes like it came straight from a small trattoria in Italy - everything is absolutely authentic. The owner is a real Italian who not only cooks, but also tells stories from his homeland with passion. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors speak for themselves. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the service is attentive and welcoming. I felt like I was in Italy and will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended!

Pleasant atmosphere, service friendly and fast, menu relatively small but creative and everything fresh. Price performance is great. The only downside is toilet- is not easy to find. Otherwise very highly recommended

The pizza is not tasty, they don’t know how to cut vegetables for salad, olives with pits, they don’t understand the order correctly and everything is very expensive!

Wauw wauw wat hebben wij hier 1e kerstdag genoten van een 5 gangen diner. Vakkundig samengesteld door chef kok Giovanni en zijn team. Hier eten is zeker geen straf en bovendien gezellig ingedeeld en keurige bediening. Zou dit restaurant zeker bij iedereen aanbevelen. Ik geef 5 sterren, meer kan helaas niet anders had ik dat graag gedaan.

Wij komen hier al jaren terug. Heerlijk eten! Zowel de pizza’s als de pasta’s. De ober maakt altijd een grapje. En de prijsverhouding is ook prima.

Very dark cellar vault, delicious steaks, starter bread with 3 sauces, a bit minimalistic. Very loud, constant clattering of dishes and cutlery from the kitchen. The waitress was asked about it and said where work was being done, it was loud. Not recommended for guests who want to entertain themselves and feel comfortable.

Short and sweet: Great restaurant with great service. Starter is creatively prepared. Pizza is really delicious. This is from the point of view of having a conventional electric pizza oven. Dough wonderfully light and airy. All dishes were presented in a very visually appealing way. Absolute recommendation!

We were very satisfied. I'm really picky when it comes to pizza, but the pizzas were really great and the starter was also very tasty. For once we didn't drink Riesling, but the Chianti house wine, also excellent. The lady from service was also extremely nice and professional. The prices are really fair. A very clear recommendation!

In the special ambience of this old castle, a young and very friendly team serves delicious Italian food - classic but also innovative. Absolutely recommended. The facility also impresses with humor and taste that goes beyond traditional clichés! It's not just the vaulted cellar that makes you feel good, but also the beautiful inner courtyard! We like going to Giovanni's. Ambience is great and the food was handmade and home-made. Italian beer isn't really my taste, but it's a nice change.

Finally a positive surprise when it comes to Italian cuisine on the Middle Moselle.... A very nice restaurant in historic walls, obviously fresh and imaginative cuisine and very friendly service Starters, pizzas, desserts, drinks and espresso - all great. On the menu, which is manageable in a positive sense, there is a lot to discover and few "boring standards". All ingredients in the dishes are of excellent quality. Even basics like pizza dough can inspire. It wasn't the last time I was there, it's worth another trip! "Checked" several times now... it's still true, the food is always great, especially the pizzas... And now in summer I think the freshly tapped “Birra Moretti” is a blast! Gladly again and again!!

We ate here based on the very commendable recommendation of our guesthouse. Since we are big pizza fans, there was no way around it. And we have to say that this was probably the best pizza we've had in a long time. Really juicy, great dough, not soggy and not too crispy, the topping was fresh (unfortunately we've had pizzas where the topping was on one piece). It felt like we inhaled the pizza in 5 minutes, which doesn't happen very often for us anymore 😅 The atmosphere is great, friendly staff, what more could you want 😁 A clear recommendation from our site 10/10!

An old Schloss has been renovated and converted into hotel + restaurant. Really cool vibe. Antipasti and Pizza were really amazing and service personnel were really kind and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Food & service top as always! Both bruschetta and the various pizza & pasta dishes are highly recommended, and there are also delicious desserts to choose from for those with a sweet tooth Dogs are also very welcome :-) We go to Giovanni's at least once every holiday - sometimes more often :-)

The atmosphere is 5 star, but the pizza doesn't have much of an Italian feel. We were disappointed by the pizza and the dessert: "Sicilian cannoli" which has very little Sicilian flavor, and then 8.50 euros for 3 very poorly made mini cannolis is really a steal. The prices of the pizzas, however, are standard for the area. Note on the service: the two professional and very kind girls, but the Russian gentleman who was really rude and rude towards us, ruined the mood. First and last time, sorry.

Heerlijk gegeten, eigenaren Gino jana en personeel zijn harde werkers, gezellig en spontaan. Maken ook tijd voor een foto en een praatje. In een mooi oud sfeer vol kasteel maar is goed onder houden schoon en netje. Goed Engels sprekend. Eten was heerlijk alles zelf bereid en mooi opgedekt. De zelfgemaakte ijs is heerlijk.

A beautiful little restaurant in historic walls. The dishes on offer are diverse and creative. The homemade pasta I ordered was wonderful. The service excellent. If we visit Zell again, Giovanni's will be at the top of the list. I would love to take the entire restaurant home with me. :)

Superleckere Pizza. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Servicepersonal nett, aber leider auch nicht mehr…da geht noch was in Punkto Tempo und Freundlichkeit. Wir kommen gerne wieder, der Gesamteindruck ist sehr gut.

Wir sitzen mal wieder im Auto mit Blick auf die Mosel und denken: wenn es im Himmel Pizza gäbe, dann würde sie genauuuu soooo schmecken. Vegetarische Pizza, Belag nach Wunsch, doppelt Mozzarella- glücklich. Danke. 😆😊

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! Beautiful atmosphere in the Schloss, lighting, decorations, all were superb. The server was friendly and brought our appetizer and drinks quickly. The caprese buffalo mozzarella was delicious with a tasty balsamic, rockets, capers and olives and served with an amazing homemade bread. The pizza Vesuvio had a nice spicy oil. And the maccheroni alla Norma was the best pasta I’ve had in a long time. Delicious tomato sauce full of flavor, eggplant and homemade pasta. Great wine selection and a nice limoncello digestive. We will definitely go back I’m already craving that pasta!!!
