A very warm welcome – we were offered drinks even for the short wait. The starters (carpaccio & seafood salad) were fresh and delicious, the pizza and pasta were excellent, the portions large and the taste was a dream. To finish off, a shot of schnapps on the house – we'd be happy to come back.

Very good food and amazing service from everyone we were in contaxt with 😊 we got to sit outside and enjoy the magnificent vibe, only thing I can put a finger on was that the table we were sitting at was a bit small and wobbly an we had to sit at a small bench 😅 but it worked out because everything else was tip top 🙏 thank you for a very enjoyable evening with good food ❤️

Authentic Italian. The food was delicious and the value for money was excellent. They also very hospitable, offering us an aperitif, bread with dip, and a free lemonade to finish. We were very satisfied.

Four of us went to Giovanni Rocco's today and had a wonderful evening. The antipasti – vitello carpaccio and goat cheese – were excellent. For main courses, we had penne with beef fillet in truffle sauce and a grilled lamb chop with vegetables – simply fantastic! The desserts were also outstanding. I highly recommend choosing the Lugana white wine to go with them. This restaurant is highly recommended for birthday parties, events, or group dinners. Many thanks to Giovanni and the entire team!

Best Italian restaurant in Hamburg The food was freshly prepared, very flavorful, and authentic – you can immediately tell that the food is cooked with love. I was here at midnight with a friend because we suddenly had a craving for pizza and had always wanted to try this place. We were definitely not disappointed. The pizza was freshly made. The crust was nice and crispy around the edges. The cheese was fantastic; you could pull strings with it. They also served herb butter with bread and sparkling wine as a welcome treat. We felt very comfortable. This is our new favorite pizza place in the neighborhood! I'm already looking forward to trying their other pizza creations. We've walked by there several times, and the place was usually very busy. It might be better to make a reservation in advance if you want to enjoy your pizza/food there during normal business hours.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is always great! Fast service, it can get a bit loud, but I think that's what makes Giovanni special! Highly recommended! Especially when there's something to celebrate.

This was by far the worst service I've ever experienced in Hamburg. Five minutes after our menus were handed to us, a waiter came to the table and wanted to take our order, saying, "Hurry up, I'm busy." We then waited forty-five minutes for three bottles of beer and a Coke, only getting them after repeatedly asking various waiters. There was no apology; instead, we were met with unfriendly and disinterested behavior. The food, which we received after ages, was delicious, but nothing special. It ultimately took almost another hour before we finally told one of the waiters that we were ready to pay. The waiter couldn't even answer whether the restaurant only accepted cash or card payments. The latter apparently wasn't possible in our case, even though it wasn't advertised or stated anywhere beforehand. Overall, in my opinion, this restaurant only survives because of its location. I've never experienced such disinterest and almost aggressive or unfriendly behavior from waiters in this city. To top it all off, one of the four of us had severe stomach pain and diarrhea for about 24 hours after eating...

We were walking through the Schanze district and happened upon this seemingly inconspicuous shop on the corner. Lamb chops, goat cheese, pasta... everything was very, very good, the portions were generous, and the price/performance ratio was absolutely reasonable. The service was very friendly, and the shop rightly has great reviews.

The food was excellent and well-priced 👍🏻. The service was very unfriendly, and we had to keep calling to order more. Drinking schnapps is difficult... We didn't have any... it's sold out... No Francelico 😢, the Aperol Spritz definitely needs more Aperol... When paying and saying goodbye, everyone was nice again... hmm 🤔 It's a shame the relaxed, friendly Italian manner was missing.

You rarely see the waiter at your table. Friends and acquaintances are given preference, and cheap women are kissed, hugged, and caressed. Well, that's just annoying.

Very, very good food at good prices. I had the tagliatelle with salmon, and it had plenty of decent-sized pieces of salmon. It tasted truly excellent. The place was packed, but we still didn't have to wait long for our food or service.

We spent a long weekend in Hamburg. The restaurant was close to our accommodation, and we'd already seen the great reviews. We loved this restaurant so much that we only ate here during our stay! Among other things, we had the pasta with fresh truffles, and we can highly recommend it. Everything here is absolutely delicious; we would have loved to eat everything on the menu! Everything is just perfect here: the food, the ambiance, and above all, the extreme hospitality! We were welcomed with sparkling wine, a roll, and even dessert and schnapps. Where can you get that these days? Nowhere! We really appreciated it and tipped accordingly. I can't stop raving about him. The waiter, Mujo, is sooo great, extremely friendly, and accommodating. We travel a lot, he stands out from the crowd; everyone he serves can consider themselves lucky. He's one of the reasons why we'll always come back to this restaurant whenever we're in Hamburg! We wish you and Mujo all the best, you are great, stay that way!

We ate there on June 1st and 3rd. The pizza on June 1st was okay, but the spaghetti on June 3rd was amazing! Absolutely fantastic.

You enter the restaurant and immediately feel like you're in Italy: incredibly loud, music in the background, cramped but somehow homey. My carpaccio, unfortunately, didn't blow me away at all. It was a very small portion, and given the quality of the meat, I've certainly had much better. My friend was happy with her meal. Afterwards, we had a delicious schnapps and a few lighthearted remarks from the waiters. I like that! All in all, a nice Italian restaurant where you can't go wrong. However, since it's my favorite cuisine and I've had the pleasure of eating at many Italian restaurants, I can only give it 4 stars.

We discovered this restaurant spontaneously last night and were absolutely thrilled. At the beginning there was a greeting from the house with bread and wild garlic butter, after which we had the very tasty Pinot Gris and shared the antipasti plate. The Vitello Tonnato on it was our highlight. Afterwards we had two very good pizzas (but be careful, the salsiccia is very spicy) and to top it all off we had a great tiramisu. We were thoroughly impressed and can highly recommend the restaurant.

Hospitality the way you want it – at exactly the right moment After we were simply thrown out at Remo's despite having a confirmed reservation, we walked in to Giovanni Rocco's, a little frustrated - and what a blessing that was! Even though it was packed, we were immediately greeted in a friendly manner. The atmosphere was warm, the staff genuinely courteous, and after just 15 minutes we were seated at a table. No stress, no drama – just honest service. The food was excellent, tastefully and lovingly prepared. You immediately notice that people work here with passion and respect for their guests. Giovanni Rocco saved our evening. You feel welcome here. Thank you very much – we will definitely be back!

The waiters are unfriendly, they don't feel like reordering, and they don't need to because several guests were already waiting for a table outside. Pizza was okay, not a stunner. To pay you had to come to the front, in the middle of all the waiting guests. I find it impossible. Zero service thought. The restaurant is also not suitable for a nice chat because the noise is more reminiscent of a train station.

We had an overnight stop in Hamburg and had already booked a table there three weeks ago. The food is fantastic (we had bruschetta, lasagna and pizza salmone). The service staff is very friendly and well organized despite the full restaurant and outdoor area. The volume in the restaurant is louder than usual, but that's part of the charm. You feel like you are in the middle of Italy. We'd love to come back.

The atmosphere is quite nice. They have taken us even though we only called 1 hour before for 4 people. I had one of the recommended dishes, which was beef pasta with truffle cream sauce, and it was very delicious. My wife had salmon pasta, and it was also very delicious, especially the sauce. Prices were also good for the portion and the taste.

The shop is always full, but very cozy. Really cozy in the candlelight. Cuddled up close. Great feeling. Not at all etepete. I can recommend the dumplings with pear/ricotta. The pasta with porcini mushrooms is also a hit. The service is loud, and fast. But not in a negative way, but rather a real southern flair.

Unfortunately, the visit on a Saturday evening was anything but relaxing. The restaurant was completely overcrowded, which unfortunately had a significant impact on the atmosphere: it was very loud, hectic, and uncomfortably warm. The tables were extremely close together, so there was hardly any space, and the feeling of being cramped was anything but cozy. The service was also disappointing in this situation – the employees seemed stressed, inattentive, and barely able to keep up. There was a lack of calm and clarity, which spoiled the overall impression. I know from experience that a completely different face is presented during the week – more relaxed, pleasant, and with significantly better service. Therefore, my conclusion: Highly recommended for a visit during the week, but unfortunately not on Saturdays.

We went for dinner with friends. Beforehand, we did a reservation. They put us in a table with less seats than requested, so we had to crowd together to fit. Some ordered pasta and some pizza. Pasta was good, tasty sauce. Pizza was rather awful. The dough was too thin and almost none flavour. Toppings were okeyish

One tip, allowing guests to get up from their seats and then moving them to a closer table, is not professional in my opinion. Generally far too loud and extremely stuffy for my taste. The food was good.
