Pasta was good but the pizza was mid. The staff was very welcoming but increased the tip on the paying machine without us noticing (could be a mistake). The atmosphere on the outside terrace, on those big tables was very pleasant however.

The pizza wasn't to my taste :(

A perfect place, highly recommended

Yesterday on the way to the Reeperbahn, ordered pizza and ate it outside. Good quick service, nice staff. A cozy atmosphere inside and beer tent sets outside invite you to linger. Pizza was tasty, hot and crispy. We'd love to come back!

If you haven't eaten here yet, you should do so as soon as possible. Top service, top team and very tasty food. You watch the cooking and are amazed. The place was “packed” and the food was on the table in 10 minutes. When we are back in Hamburg we would be happy to visit you again.

A typical shop for tourists, you won't meet people from the neighborhood there as it is one of the bad Italian restaurants in Hamburg. Bad reviews are regularly deleted.

The food is delicious and they really make every effort to please all of the guests! The ambience is of course a matter of taste, but so much for that... You won't find a romantic restaurant here. Our recommendation... Now eat your food outside in the summer...

On Friday we had another incredibly lovely evening with 10 friends at Giovanni's. I have never ordered from the menu but, as always, I ordered a starter and main course as a surprise meal for my friends. Incredibly good. We have never been disappointed!!! Thanks to Gio and team

Great restaurant in terms of friendliness, food and making a table possible. Even though I didn't make a reservation, I was given a seat outside by the boss himself, despite the restaurant being full. The difference to most restaurants is that they try to accommodate every guest. The landlord knows how it works and understands his craft. Professional reception, familiar, almost historical atmosphere, quite a bit of noise. Then super delicious food, Prosecco at the beginning, Ramazotti at the end. Great price, warm farewell. Giovanni at his best. Visited again, simply super brilliant location. Perfect all around.

Very good restaurant, we were a little reticent being Italian but it turned out to be a gem. Besides the food, the owner was very kind and very helpful. A place where we will gladly return, the environment was also pleasant being full of people and accommodating.

Actually, I have always been very satisfied and come to the restaurant regularly. As always, the food was delicious, unfortunately our service employee was so unfriendly yesterday that we were about to leave. He (black down vest) initially ignored us and then was so unpleasantly unfriendly and annoyed with every interaction that we considered changing tables to hopefully get another waiter or leaving. But as I said, the food was great as always.

Delicious food and great service. We were greeted with prosecco and juice and free bread with herb butter. Pizzas were delicious and prices were reasonable. The two nightcaps were not listed on the bill and when we pointed this out to the waiter he said they were on the house. There was simply more tip for that. A service for guests that many restaurateurs can copy. Highly recommended.

5 star deluxe! Giovanni is #1! Hospitality at its best! The food was also strong and the price was completely reasonable. Atmosphere unique & guest structure great! We've been there a few times now for the European Football Championships, sitting outside in the best weather was absolutely great! Aperitif on the house from Don Giovanni himself. Always happy!

By far the best Italian on the corner! Giovanni is a born host, always has everything in view and you feel well looked after from start to finish. Attentive service and wonderful food, the beef fillet is star-worthy! Highly recommended, especially in the summer months with places outside. Unfortunately it's no longer an insider tip. At peak times on the weekend you should be patient without a reservation - but the wait is definitely worth it!

From the first moment he gave us a brilliant welcome, even though the store was (as probably always) completely full. The service is great and the food is simply first class. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this pizzeria at all. We were looking forward to a nice evening with delicious pizzas, but the experience was a complete disappointment. After placing our order, we waited a whopping 2.5 hours for our pizzas - even though the place wasn't even particularly full. We politely asked the staff several times when we could expect our food. Every time we were put off and didn't get a clear answer. After endless waiting and increasing frustration, we were finally forced to cancel our order and leave the restaurant hungry. Such service is unacceptable. It's understandable that there can be delays during busy times, but waiting over two hours without clear communication or apology is simply unreasonable. We definitely won't come back and advise others to avoid this pizzeria..

In my opinion, they have the best pizzas in St. Pauli and the best Aperol Spritz I've ever had! The service is also great. I can only recommend the restaurant.

Cool shop, always full, loud and cheerful. Hip, others would probably say. The pizza is great and every pasta dish I've had so far has been delicious too. There is usually a small glass of sparkling wine to welcome you. The pteises are completely ok.

I'm a big fan of Neapolitan pizza and loved going to Jill's Pizza in the Schanzenviertel. I discovered Giovanni by chance and was very excited! The welcome was: Prosecco and bread with burrata cheese. The service was also very quick and very friendly. The pizza also tastes very authentic and I will go here more often from now on. I am very satisfied and can only recommend Giovanni Rocco!

Was here recently with some Twitter friends. It was late and the kitchen had actually already closed, but we were still treated to culinary delights. We were also able to have a wonderful conversation with the friendly boss. Always my pleasure!

First time ate there, ... absolute hit. Very nice pasta, fresh vegetables and fish. The Manager himself enjoys to take time and chat to the customers. The staff is quick and friendly, but don't expect them to stop by and ask how the food is. This is a proper italian style restaurant. It is an absolute must visit, highly recommended! THE party Italian in Hamburg. The atmosphere is great and you get very good food for the price. The dishes are cooked directly in the entrance area. If you want to really feast again in front of the Reeperbahn, you should stop by here.
