Delicious homemade pasta. The pizza is okay too, but mostly too salty for me personally. The dessert has always been very good. We have enjoyed coming here for years.

I actually really enjoy eating there. The food is always top. Unfortunately, the staff can't keep up with the number of visitors, which is why we only have two drinks at a time. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we sat really modestly today. It's a shame because the food is really good.

I was invited to this place to eat *Italian* pizza, made by *Italians*, after waiting an hour the pizzas finally arrived. When the pizzas arrived we were disappointed by their consistency, it was basically a Pavesini cracker with cheese on top. Total disappointment to know that an Italian restaurant run by Italians can present pizzas like this at the table. I would do like Checco Zalone in the film *QUO VADO*.

We always walk and drive past the restaurant and finally went there. It's a cozy atmosphere and the people are cheerful and very friendly. Drinks and food came quickly. To accompany the bread there was also a plate for oil. Oil, vinegar, chili oil and salt are on the table. The menu is supplemented by seasonal dishes. We had tagliatelle with venison ragout and three kinds of ravioli with fish filling. A small bowl of parmesan is served with it. I am very excited. I have never eaten such delicious pasta. Payment is made in the checkout area, which I personally think is good. Especially if you pay by card. We would love to come back.

Since the last time I visited it there has been an involution, without words.

Everything excellent! I really enjoy coming here. I can highly recommend the tagliatelle with green pesto, pine nuts and chicken. The antipasti plates are also very diverse and super tasty.

Edit November 2024: This time the three of us had dinner around 2 p.m. on Saturday. Although we thought there wasn't much going on, we waited about 30 minutes for the starter and then another 15 minutes for the main course. The pastas were okay but lacked a bit of love. The pizza was very crusty and greasy. The pizza was also carelessly cut, so many pieces had to be cut. The menu was changed so that pastas were not classified as vegan or vegetarian. We had a vegan in the group and then found out on site that all vegan dishes had been canceled. I'm not completely satisfied. Original review 2020: The usual contact details regarding Corona were not taken at the beginning but only shortly before the end of the visit upon request. The data might also have been requested during payment, I don't know. We waited a comparatively long time (approx. 30 minutes) for our food (but there were also 8 people). The food was average, unfortunately nothing special.

Delicious Italian with extra class service. We are regulars and go there almost every Saturday for breakfast and occasionally pizza or pasta for lunch or dinner. All dishes ordered so far have tasted excellent. Requests outside the menu are also gladly accepted and the service staff are always very friendly and fulfill any special request. In summer, the restaurant impresses with a beautiful outdoor terrace and shady spots in the backyard. The restaurant is also very cozy. Giovanni, Adrian, Giuseppe; we'll be back!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant with many seats on two floors. A pleasant atmosphere. The menu offers a good and large selection of different starters, main courses and desserts. The drinks menu also offers a large selection of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You should book a table in advance. We would love to come back. :-)

The two of us were there spontaneously. We were lucky and got a table. Reservations would be recommended, no wonder because it was some of the best pizza and pasta I have ever eaten. Absolute insider tip

The meat in the Vitello Tonato was very tough and thickly sliced. The pizza dough was hard and dry. A lot of dried oregano was spread on it, which changed the taste a lot.

The food was sufficient and tasted very good. The waiter either had too big a station or was disorganized. I find talking on the phone while serving people, even if it's for business purposes, to be rude and disrespectful. You also don't leave the food with the guest as you pass by, but rather look at the person concerned and at least wish you a good appetite. Unfortunately, this type of service has diminished in many restaurants. Regrettable in my opinion. I would be happy to order and pick up there again at any time.

Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere. At 4:00 PM it was already very busy in the shop. The carpaccio was good. And the carbonara tasted good. Fairly smooth operation. In short, I will come back again.

The last visit was only mediocre after good experiences in the past. Service and food loveless, and despite the wasps we should actually sit outside. Maybe it was a mistake to insist on sitting inside...

Business trip... this time it was supposed to be pizza for dinner. Spontaneously googled it and landed here. I assume it's quite comfortable to sit inside and the restaurant is also authentic. However, my pizza was quite expensive at €15.30 compared to what I usually spend and the quality I expected. Still quite tasty, but I would go somewhere else next time.

Very well attended restaurant in Laatzen. And you can sit outside very nicely. However, we had previously selected our food on the website, and when we were there with 6 people, many of the dishes listed there were not available. As a result, almost everyone had to order something different than what they actually wanted. Unfortunately, the friendly young waitress couldn't say why. But the waitresses that evening were only temporary workers. What we then ate was good, but not necessarily what we wanted.

Authentic and delicious. The homemade noodles are excellent and can also be bought right next door. The staff is friendly and attentive. Whenever I'm nearby, I like to eat here and will continue to visit the restaurant.

I haven't eaten here for a long time and I'm always thrilled with the food. We ordered all the bruchetta variants as a starter and for the main course I chose pasta with duck and truffle sauce. Price-performance ratio is completely ok, the service is very attentive and I absolutely recommend eating there👍😊

With an ironic aside, I like to recommend to my trade fair guests: "Not only does it taste good to me in the cozy outdoor area, but the service is also 'semi-arrogant',... as befits a good Italian restaurant." During a few visits over the last few years, I (male, 61) have fond memories of the food at Giovanni's, but I always had the feeling that I was just a 'tolerated supplicant' when, for example, I didn't choose the 'correct Italian' drink with my meal ...I can handle this gimmick. Yesterday (August 8th, 2024) I waited in vain for 10 minutes outside, although at around 3:00 p.m. only a few tables were occupied and the waitress was there. I used the 'waiting time' to change tables and noticed the sign at the entrance saying "Please wait. You will be seated". Admittedly... it was clearly visible,... but I still absentmindedly overlooked it. Couldn't the waitress have let this go with the usual 'semi-arrogant reprimand'?... I could handle this gimmick. Should I have followed the waitress like a cornered elementary school student and asked for leniency? Should I have waited alone for minutes on the sidewalk in the blazing sun in front of an almost empty restaurant? I went to the 'Bosporus' restaurant opposite and after a few moments had the menu in my hand. Once again, it's clear: Any comparison of the solid dishes from the Bosphorus with Giovanni's delicious homemade pasta is flawed, but I will give my trade fair guests a serious warning for Giovanni.

I would prefer not to give a star at all because the service was so bad today. We were registered with a group and had to wait half an hour to order our drinks. We were finally able to order our food after an hour. Two meals didn't arrive and a drink was also forgotten. When spoken to by the staff, the response was very rude. The food was okay, but nothing special. There is no recommendation from me.

Ok, the pizza was very tasty, but in my opinion the restaurant is overrated. The meal took a very long time, you are seated, but no one pays attention and you stand there stupidly. The knives don't cut at all. And the worst thing, there were balconies above our table in the garden restaurant and large doormats hanging there, very unappetizing. And for the other reviewers, in order to get 5 stars, everything really has to be right.

Pasta is made fresh on site, the pizza is delicious! Finally I sat outside in the courtyard, which is quiet and away from the main street.

Best bruschetta we've ever eaten and the pizza was the best we've had in a long, long time. The base was delicious and the edge was crispy, the spicy salami could be called spicy and was excellent. The Parmesan is also very tasty when cut into pieces.

I was in this restaurant for the first time this week and I can say that it definitely won't be the last time! The food really tasted delicious, the portion was very generous and there was delicious fresh bread with the meal. In addition, the staff was polite and I think the prices are really more than fair for the portion sizes and the taste! For 2 main courses and 2 large drinks we ended up with 30€. All in all really great, I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Somewhat chaotic service. Starters very tasty. We had 2 different bruscetta and one salad. The noodles were very good. We wanted garlic on the pizza. Unfortunately a very fatty garlic oil was used. I couldn't eat it, it was completely mushy. Toilet was very dirty, pointed this out to the waitress, but nothing happened.

Not recommendable! We came in, no one spoke German and we were sent back and forth even though we just wanted to know whether we had to make a reservation. In my opinion, the food (especially the lasagna) didn't taste particularly good. It came SUPER FAST! But unfortunately not good. €15.80 for a lasagna that doesn't taste good at all, no thanks! 😟 In addition, to pay you have to get up yourself and go to the last corner somewhere 😬…. Never again….

I won't do it again! We came in and wanted to ask if you could eat without a reservation. The first waitress didn't speak any German at all and didn't understand us. The second waitress spoke almost no German and didn't understand what our question was. Only the third waitress spoke German and then helped us. The food came very quickly and was warm, but not very good. The lasagne was extremely soft and tasted like ready-made lasagne and the noodles had more spinach than noodles. Very small portions for almost €16 per meal. Not again…

The food was very tasty and we got a seat straight away without a reservation.

Everything is highly recommended... lots of space outside... parking is no problem either... tram right in front of the door... whether for eating... a cappu in between... or as a meeting point for a first date 😉. .. recommended for all occasions...

I loved this restaurant and found out about it through a friend. And my favorite dish is Ravioli Orange. A culinary delight, hmmmm… but other dishes are also simply delicious. In the evenings and on weekends you have to book a table in advance. In the summer months you can also sit outside. The small outdoor area is on the side street.

For better pizza you have to go to Italy. I've been enjoying them for over 5o years now, had an Italian one Restaurant in Thailand. There were four of us There. 2 times pizza, 2 times pasta. You couldn't prepare it better. The wine is also praiseworthy. We'll definitely be back!

Noodles are very good. Unfortunately, not really chicken casserole. Service was good. Space is a bit tight but it is very atmospheric.

I ordered pasta in a cream sauce and a salad to pick up. Unfortunately, the noodles were so heavily seasoned with pepper that I found them inedible. Unfortunately the salad was missing a lot of dressing so it seemed very dry. Very unfortunate.

Absolute recommendation for every pasta fan We were in Hanover with the family to visit Giovanni. The noodles were perfect and the service a 10/10. When we showed interest in the different types of pasta, we were given a small plate with sample portions of a few types.

Delicious food, I haven't had such good pizza in a long time. Homemade pasta, everything looked great, will try more soon. Also easy to reach, light rail right in front of the door.

I'm disappointed! After a call to ask if there was still a table for 3 people this evening, I was interrupted in a disrespectful manner and brushed off with "that's too late for me - I'm not taking any more reservations for today"! I was completely perplexed and wanted to ask if there was a time when we could still come, but I was interrupted again and told condescendingly “we are fully booked”! That was more than just rude, it was very cheeky. I am outraged! A little more empathy is to be expected in a service-oriented restaurant. A pity!

Carbonara can also be made with too much bacon. Therefore very salty. Hardly tasted cheese. Prices increased significantly. Price performance no longer fits. - Service: food didn't come at the same time. Definitely 5 minutes offset. One of the waitresses wasn't able to say a word. Food was just thrown down. - Ambience: was always very cool. Has gotten a little better. Card payment possible

At prime time Saturday evening with 7 people. Service was optimal and the pasta was sensational!! Strongly recommended...

After friends brought me here some time ago, “da Giovanni” has become by far my favorite restaurant in Hannover. The food is good for the Italian taste, but my foreign friends (Germans and others) also like it, and the choice is wide. The environment is very welcoming and much more spacious than the first impression, with all its rooms also on the upper floor. I can recommend the entire menu without hesitation. A special note goes to Emanuele who, with his particular "charm", adds (to a generally impeccable service) a further touch of humanity and warmth to the service.
