Great food, great fun service, recommended, 2 minutes from Pullmann's Hotel

Not for the solo traveler. The restaurant was empty lots of tables free but refused table because I was on my own. Told to come back at 10pm currently 6pm. Would avoid if you are solo

Der Empfang war freundlich und bei der Bestellung war die Beratung in Bezug auf Speisen und Getränk sehr kompetent. Die Getränke und Speisen kamen in angemessenen Zeit und gleichzeitig auf den Tisch. Alles war sehr lecker und besonders der italienischer Weißwein aus Apulien. Die Preise gegen, aufgrund der hervorragenden Leistung der Küche, voll in Ordnung. Wir werden bei Gelegenheit die schöne Location wieder aufsuchen.

An absolute disgrace! My pregnant friend urgently needed to go to the toilet, but we were denied access. Something like that is simply not appropriate - especially not for someone who is in such dire straits. Turning away people who need help like that is not only rude, but simply disrespectful. There is no way I will ever set foot in this store and I can only discourage anyone from supporting a place like this!"

I request 6 out of 5 stars. People give good reviews so often, but it's really appropriate here. The food is fragrant, everything is deliciously seasoned and the fact that the prices are slightly higher than at other Chinese restaurants is appropriate as soon as you have eaten the first bite - because you notice that the ingredients have not been skimped on. If Chinese cuisine is in Cologne, then at Ginger.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Ginger Restaurant in Cologne and was overall happy with my selection. The food was really tasty and freshly prepared, I especially liked the crunchy vegetables. The service was very friendly and attentive, which made my visit even more pleasant. The ambience in the restaurant was simple, but still cozy. There was a pleasant atmosphere that invited you to linger. The prices for the Asian cuisine were a bit high in my opinion, but the quality of the food definitely justified it. I ordered the kombau and the mixed vegetables and was very happy with both dishes. The flavors were authentic and the portions were generous. All in all, a successful visit to the Ginger Restaurant, which I would happily recommend.

Sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service, nett eingerichtetes Restaurant. Eine kleine, feine Karte mit ein paar Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichten und Desserts. Die flambierte Ente wird direkt am Tisch flambiert und auf einer heißen Platte serviert. Selten eine so zarte und doch perfekt gebratene Ente gegessen. Leckeres Gemüse dazu und Reis. Sehr zu empfehlen!!!

Yesterday evening I was visiting the Ginger Restaurant again with a very good friend from Greece. My friend was very grateful for the great selection of the restaurant and we were both very excited. The service is always very good and very attentive. The selection on the menu is deliberately kept smaller and therefore really good, quality vs. quantity is really guaranteed here. The cleanliness should also be emphasized, everything is always extremely clean and well maintained. Be it cutlery, glasses, tables, plates etc. everything is tip top. Even the chairs and benches here are noticeably more comfortable than in many Cologne restaurants. Thank you very much to the entire Ginger team, it is always a pleasure to be a guest there. Very delicious meal, good quality meat, lots of vegetables, nice little touches that made service special. We all enjoyed very much!

My experience at Ginger Restaurant was disappointing. We ordered the flat rice noodle soup with wonton for €19, unfortunately the soup consisted mainly of water with a few pieces of vegetables. After we complained, our plates were taken away without comment and never returned. The waitress assured us that the soup was a “light Thai soup” and that’s how it should taste. Despite the complaint, we were charged full for the soups. absolutely no recommendation.

Due to the recession, we had high expectations here, which unfortunately were not met. There were two of us, we had the special spring rolls as a starter and the fried noodles with chicken and Sichuan beef as our main courses. The spring rolls were okay, but a bit too expensive for the quantity. The fried noodles were very bland and dry in taste. However, the price is still within reasonable limits. The Sichuan style beef was really not good, an indefinable taste drowned out the entire dish, and there was no sauce either. What was irritating with both main courses were orange slices and grapes on the plate. All in all, we imagined everything to be a little different and, above all, more authentic after the reviews we had read. We definitely won't be guests again.

We went to Ginger Restaurant because their taking duck was praised on several internet forums. After our visit I feel It's unclear why. It started with a handwritten sign hanging on the front door that said “guests only.” You don't see something like that in decent or good restaurants. In addition, in my opinion, the mood in the restaurant sets the tone, so there is no customer orientation. That's how it was. We ordered the Peking duck menu twice. The menu is a sequence of several duck dishes and it is important to know that only one of the 5 dishes is the Peking duck. The food was ok, but definitely not worth the 59 euros per person for the menu. We eat out a lot and have seen a lot. Unfortunately, the waitress only spoke very poor German (no English either) and didn't explain anything, i.e. neither what was on the menu nor what the respective dish was. She was matter-of-fact. If you can say that in just a few words, but not in a friendly way. Still better than her husband who went out to smoke every 5 minutes and left her to work. When it comes to the ambience, you can say that it's okay, but again cozy and has some other flair. To sum up: I can only recommend the restaurant if you want to eat something quickly and urgently, but not to go out in the evening with your partner or friends. It's a shame - there are so few good Chinese restaurants in Cologne.

It was a rubbish restaurant. It was a hot day and he held half a bottle of mineral water in his hand. He asked me to put it in my trouser pocket or else he would charge me 15 euros. The mineral water sold in the store was only 4 euros. I don’t know what the boss lady was thinking. Moreover, the handwritten Chinese menu is 40% more expensive than the German one. It is specially for the Chinese people. It is a rubbish restaurant that rips off the people of the country. The Chinese people are safe from lightning!

The dishes were perfectly seasoned. The vegetables were crunchy and the meat was tender. What was particularly pleasant to us was that there was a lot of space between the tables. We didn't have to wait long. We were very happy with everything. The prices were also completely reasonable.

As a starter I had spring rolls, crispy and with a nice juicy filling. You were a good start. For the main course I treated myself to the 8 treasures. The taste is simply very, very good. The vegetables were crunchy, the meat and shrimp were very juicy. The sauce had a slight sweetness and a nice spiciness. Top. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. I would be interested in the Peking duck, unfortunately I'm only there for one day and it needs a day's advance order. So I will come again. You should too... Enjoy your meal

Very delicious Peking duck menu. No run-of-the-mill dishes, but first-class prepared and seasoned duck dishes. A real experience, but at 59 euros per person it also has its price. Ambience could be more comfortable. The lighting is kept cold. Would eat here again at any time. No comparison to the standard Chinese around the corner!

Spontaneously reserved a table in the restaurant. We were welcomed very friendly in the restaurant. All the staff were somehow always smiling and very friendly. The ordered food was served after a short wait and placed on large warmers so that it stayed warm for a long time. The rice was also in small warming containers so that it stays nice and warm. Everything tasted excellent. The fried ice cream was also very tasty. The decoration was a flower folded from napkins, which was too bad to use. Conclusion: We had very friendly staff, delicious food and a cozy atmosphere that evening and can therefore confidently recommend the Ginger restaurant. Thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ate in this restaurant for the first time today. The good reviews brought this to our attention. Not only was the food really delicious, the service was also very friendly. We were welcomed with a big smile and really friendly people! It was really a very nice experience. Any time.

Waitress struggled with English but pointing to what we wanted on the English pages of the menu did the trick! Food was excellent - we had the duck & S&sour pork - some of the best Chinese food we’ve had.

We visited Ginger on a Saturday evening without having made a reservation but the staff were able to accommodate us. The restaurant was quite busy. The decor is functional rather than elaborate but it was clean and well presented if a lilac king in character. The staff were helpful and food was served in a timely and efficient manner. We picked old “favourites “ from the menu ( sweet & sour and beef with noodles) and all was very good.

Sehr leckeres Essen, kommen wieder

De bediening is erg vriendelijk en het eten is superlekker. Vooral het speciale Peking Eend Menu is echt aan te raden, maar dat kan je wel best minstens een dag op voorhand reserveren. Als we nog eens in Keulen zijn, dan komen we zeker terug en dan nemen we opnieuw dat menu.

Das Essen war überragend. Netter Service, Reis als Beilage, welcher nachgefüllt wird. Tolle und gemütliche Atmosphäre.

Das Ambiente wirkt sehr authentisch und beim Essen ist alles frisch. Die Peking-Ente ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen! Wir kommen gerne wieder wenn wir wieder in Köln sind.

Delicious! The price point is definitely higher than your usual Chinese 'eatery on the corner', but portions are large, taste is amazing and the service and ambience is very good. We had the crispy duck and the classic Chinese aubergine for main course and it was super delicious and very filling for two.

Super Service und sehr leckeres Essen

Ich empfehle sehr das Peking Ente Menü. Das muss man allerdings mindestens 24h vorher vorbestellen (wegen der Zubereitungsart) und kostet auch ein paar Euro mehr, aber es lohnt sich. Es sind dann direkt mehrere Gänge, es ist alles immer super lecker und jeder wird mehr als satt. Sowas macht man nicht jede Woche, aber zu besonderen Anlässen und wenn man Besuch hat, ist das einfach mal was anderes. Ich hab dort noch nicht a la carte gegessen, kann mir aber nicht vorstellen, dass die Speisen nicht genauso lecker und gut gewürzt sind. Alle sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Ginger Restaurant Köln Wer in Köln und Umgebung Lust auf einen guten Chinesen hat, sollte definitiv bei Ginger vorbeischauen! Bier vom Fass! Inhaber und Bedienung sind äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend!

Ideal für die Mittagspause, alteingesessener Chinese Nähe Friesenplatz. Aber von den 11 Gerichten der Mittagskarte ist nur eins vegetarisch: Gebratenes Gemüse. Das ist auch lecker, aber - wie die gesamte Mittagskarte - viel zu teuer.

The ‘Original Peking Duck’ is a joke. 48euros per person for unauthentic, overcooked, horrible tasting duck dishes. Listen to the other reviews saying how bad it is and do NOT be fooled. Would give 0 stars if it were possible

Rein zufällig bin ich dort gelandet und habe eine unfassbar leckere „knusprige Ente“ vom Mittagsmenü gegessen. Super lecker und auch die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Würde ich wieder hin gehen und weiterempfehlen.
