"Ginger" Café - Restaurant - Bar in Ahrenshoop

Great food, nice people, everything is right, but unfortunately the great burgers and fries have disappeared from the menu.

I remember this place when it was still a bit more high end and now it’s become more of a place to catch a quick bite. The food was alright but nothing special. Service was excellent though. Very friendly and quick.

We were there in the summer (August) and had a fish plate. We were very excited about that. We were there again for a few months (end of October). Same order but only half the portion. In terms of quantity it was an appetizer for the price but a main course. I am very disappointed. Unfortunately, there aren't many restaurants left in this town that we can recommend.

The food was carelessly prepared, tasteless and therefore overpriced. €9.50 for a soup that doesn't taste like much is simply too much. No recommendation.

We spontaneously stopped by on a Friday evening at the end of September with 4 adults and two young dogs, one of them quite anxious, and were given a table in a quiet, not too cramped corner by a very friendly waitress. As a dog owner you really can't expect that and we were incredibly happy. The price of the food is a bit high, but it is very, very tasty and attractively prepared. The restaurant itself is chic and quaint and has a cozy atmosphere with pleasant acoustics (the restaurant was about half full, but you could still have a good conversation at a normal volume). The service staff was friendly, very attentive and quick across the board.

What really bothers me here is that people here act as if the food is of a high standard (prices as well as the way the food is advertised). But then you're more likely to get ready-made meals. The schnitzel and the coleslaw salad were far from freshly prepared. I would have gotten one from Rewe and co. can buy. When we asked, the waitress brought us 2 bags of mayonaise like at McDonald's. Fries soft and light. Food came less than 10 minutes after placing the order, everyone can form their own opinion. Price/performance is an absolute disgrace here. My personal disappointment on my vacation!

We have eaten here several times. Very attentive service. Seasonal delicacies adapted to the seasons. Food came very quickly. All in all - highly recommended!

Schnitzel for 20 euros, the size of a cigarette pack. 2 spoons of mushrooms and a bowl of fries. That's a good offer for customers, but definitely not. Don't worry about Goto Teuschen!

Friendly service, quick service, reasonable price...

Nice welcome, we didn't have a reservation. Service friendly and attentive. Tomato soup as a starter tasted great, but could have been a little warmer. The main course was great. Surf and Turf - I haven't had such a good piece of fillet in a long time. The shrimp was- well. Great fries, great salad. Mushroom schnitzel also very fine. Sauce great. For dessert, warm schocko cakes - not homemade but delicious. Good selection of drinks. Prices are rather high

We really liked the atmosphere at Ginger (we sat outside). Unfortunately no food or drinks. The coffee (black) tasted musty and could only be tolerated with milk/oat milk. The fruit cake from the tray tasted thawed and the Aperol was huge, but unfortunately it was a ready-made mix that tasted artificial. Very unfortunate. I hope that we were just unlucky and that all the other food and drinks were great.

Went to visit a friend in rehab and had dinner at Ginger. The service is great, the waitress is very nice. We quickly had our food and it was very tasty.

Were there last night, I can only say that we've rarely eaten so well and the service was very friendly and relaxed, we like it. We'll be happy to come back.

We ordered 1x burger and 1x schnitzel from the menu for 2 people. The food came quickly. Unfortunately, both the burger and the cream mushrooms with the schnitzel were cold and the burger patty was not completely cooked through. The side dishes were definitely not freshly prepared (lettuce was wilted, probably from the bag)! The fries were a 50/50 mix of old (dark and hard) and new (very light and only partially cooked). All in all, not worth the €20 charge per meal. We've eaten there regularly over the last few years and are used to better quality. That was our last visit there for the time being.

Be careful, tourist trap! Maritime ambience, sunny terrace and high prices for drinks and dishes on the menu give an illusion that the quality delivered and the actual taste far miss! We discovered the following problems when we had lunch on the terrace with four adults and three children at Pentecost: Schnitzel for €19.50 was quite small and too dry from the deep fryer, tasted frozen quality, a small bowl of sauce with canned champions 3 . Choice with a strong glutamate taste, with a mini basket of over-salted fries that were probably fried to death along with the schnitzel, no side salad or anything like that, totally boring and carelessly served. The children's schnitzel for €10.50 is the same. Ketchup and mayonnaise are only available upon request, even though they are on the menu and then only in sachets like in a snack bar. The pasta with beef and mushrooms was way too creamy and heavy on the stomach for €22.50. Pasta Bolognese was of convenience quality like our school kitchen for €17.50. Drinks: also salty prices, large beer 6€, Coke from the bottle 4.50€. Ambiance: Tables on the terrace are much too small for meals, more like café tables, the toilet is super cramped and dirty. You have to step on the bowl in the men's toilet if you value a closed door when going to the toilet for extended periods of time. And then, while sitting, you touch the closed cabin door with the tip of your nose. Our recommendation: look for another restaurant in Ahrenshoop. In Ginger it's wasted vacation money. We felt cheated after this visit.

We spontaneously eat there on Whit Monday. We got a table there without any problems. The staff is super friendly and the food is plentiful. So I can only recommend eating there. Keep it up 👍.

We spontaneously went to Ahrenshoop and walked up and down the village street. Of all the restaurants, this appealed to us the most. Vintage ambience, screams to chill. You can sit undisturbed on the back terrace. Very attentive service, extensive menu. The food came quickly, was great and the size was right. Price/performance ratio absolutely fine. We'd love to come back.

The café offers a wide range of drinks and food. There is also a large selection of long drinks and gin. I also really liked the waffles. There probably could have been a little more ice on it.

Average cuisine completely overpriced. Food arrived after 10 minutes. Fried potatoes were neither crispy nor tasty. Fries were out of the bag. The cole slow salad was not homemade. The food was only lukewarm and completely overpriced for the service. The service was quick and good.

We had a very nice evening at Ginger, which was partly due to the perfect service from Julia, who served our large group in a courteous and extremely friendly manner. She even spontaneously made a small gin tasting possible for us. The food was delicious too! Thank you!

We were there for the first and last time. €5.90 for a latte is a disgrace even for Ahrenshoop. They charged too much for the second meal, which was a shame. We passed it off as a tip. The service was very friendly so we can't complain about anything. Maybe you'll think again about your drink prices and take a closer look at what's being booked.

Nettes Personal. Gemütliches Ambiente. Gar nicht mal so gutes Essen. Heißt: nicht frisch, merkbar aus der Dose. Und dafür zu teuer! Der Gin ist sehr gut.

Wir haben heute zu Silvester zu unmöglicher Stunde spontan noch Kuchen und Essen bekommen von hervorragendem, freundlichen Personal, es ging super fix. Wir sind rundum zufrieden und glücklich. PS: der Sanddornpunsch ist sehr sehr lecker!

Ich hatte ganz kurzfristig angerufen und gefragt ob noch Platz für 5 Personen um die Mittagszeit frei wäre! Mir wurde sehr nett ein Tisch reserviert für 30 min später! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben einen Tisch reserviert, was auch nötig war. Es wird in 2 Schichten reserviert früh und spät. Es war voll. Wir waren zu Zweit und hatten einen Tisch der wirklich nur für 2 Personen passte. Auch waren die Tische sehr dicht aneinander, wer es mag. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und reichlich vorhanden. Mein Essen , Hähnchen- Curry- Pfanne war sehr lecker aber auch sehr fettig. Der Fischteller meines Partners, mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat war auch gut. Auf Wünsche wird eingegangen. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Das Essen war gut, auf Kundenwünsche wird eingegangen. Spricht für eine wirklich frische Zubereitung. Der Service war unaufdringlich freundlich. War ein gelungener Abend.

Gutes Restaurant im Ort. Kann man uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Einziges Manko: Im Innenbereich könnte mehr Platz zwischen den Tischen sein.

Das Personal kümmert sich sehr gut um einen und versucht auf alle Wünsche einzugehen. Das Essen wurde sehr schnell serviert und auch das Auge hatte was davon Eine nette Überraschung zur Beilage waren die Sprossen, welche nicht oft zusehen sind

Das Essen ist gut, der Service ausgesprochen nett und stets parat und hilfsbereit. Einzig die sehr eng gestellten Tische im Innenbereich, verhindern eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Man versteht jedes Wort der viel zu nahen Tischnachbarn und traut sich selber kaum noch zu sprechen. Das ist schade, denn das Restaurant ist gut!

Es gibt kaum etwas auszusetzen. Service und Ambiente waren top. Essen war ok, aber nicht überragend. Wie halt überall in den Ostseehotspots leicht überteuert. Mit 50€/Person incl. Getränke sollte man schon rechnen. Alles in allem **** Wie fast immer gilt: vorher reservieren.

Freundlicher Empfang, nette Terrasse, qualitativ gutes Essen. Die Aushilfen im Service ungeübt aber nett. Dreimal dort gegessen und immer gut. Ich kann das Ginger empfehlen.

Einmal und nie wieder,Fertigprodukte,Preis-Leistung stimmt leider überhaupt nicht!!! Schnitzel vom Landschwein mit Champignonrahmsauce, Tiefkühlschnitzel mit einer Rahmsauce aus der Tüte,einfach ungenießbar, wenn man schon nicht selber kocht,sollte man auch die Preise anpassen.

Waren heute dort Essen. Waren vorher etwas trinken, hat uns gut gefallen. Deshalb waren wir heute zum Essen dort. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Beim Essen ist Luft nach oben. Die Beilagen (rote Beete) zum Fisch waren aus der Dose. Die Sauce im Hühnchen-Curry war aus der Tüte und die Nudeln waren verkocht. Leider stimmt das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis nicht.

ESST NICHT DIE BOWL war ranzig, bestellt Fisch oder Pasta dann is alles gut. Preis für die Bowl is unverschämt ehrlich, nicht mal aufgewärmte Tiefkühlkost, ungenießbar.

Winzige Toiletten, Minitoiletten,man kann sich nicht mal umdrehen!
