Gigant XXL Restaurant & Bar in Einbeck

I was there not too long ago. It was really delicious. However, I ordered a 0.0 liter beer because I'm on probation and not allowed to drink alcohol before driving. I received a 0.5 liter, which I only noticed later, and no one pointed it out to me. The server wasn't very friendly when I pointed it out, which I found very disappointing because I really enjoyed the place. Unfortunately, I won't be going there again because if it weren't for my colleague, I wouldn't have been able to drive home. Best regards, André

I went to Giant over the weekend and ordered a vegan veggie burger. I asked several times which sauces were vegan and specifically requested that they ensure everything was served vegan. The burger itself was fine and was indeed prepared vegan – unfortunately, the side dishes were served with yogurt sauce and mayonnaise, even though I had been assured beforehand that they weren't vegan. This is obviously frustrating, not just for me personally, but in general, because many customers rely on such information for ethical, health, or allergy reasons. If the staff goes to the trouble of accommodating special requests, they should actually take them seriously. For me, that's simply part of good and attentive service. It's a shame, because the food itself was delicious. But such misunderstandings could easily be avoided if the staff were better trained or if the vegan options were clearly labeled.

Food and service are fantastic! We've been there a few times, sometimes as a large group and sometimes as a small family. The burgers and steaks are incredibly delicious and freshly prepared. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the cocktails and drinks are beautifully presented and served. Since the restaurant is rather small, I find it all the more remarkable that even with a group of 15 people (we occupied half the restaurant) ordering 15 different dishes, everything was served at the same time. And no, we hadn't pre-ordered. The service staff is attentive, kind, friendly, and fun. I can also wholeheartedly recommend the desserts. For me, the whole package is perfect, and I recommend Gigant to anyone who wants to enjoy delicious burgers, cocktails, and desserts.

Gigant XXL - not only the taste but also the service is XXL super. An incredibly caring and professional team that takes care of its guests. We felt completely at home. The food is also not to be underestimated, as it is of superb quality, and you can tell the chef knows his craft and loves creativity. Definitely worth a visit.

The food is delicious, the waiters are very attentive and check repeatedly to see if everything is okay. The furniture is modern and attractively arranged.

Addendum from August 16, 2025: Super delicious burgers and a great cocktail selection! The menu has been revised since our last visit, and the menu has been adjusted, giving the restaurant a final kick. Today's visit absolutely impressed us, and we would be happy to return anytime. A reservation is definitely recommended, as the restaurant is very busy. A very modern restaurant with attentive and friendly service. The dishes were all of good quality and taste, and the price/performance ratio was also reasonable. I started with the fried Maultaschen (swabian pasta). I would have preferred a more traditional version, as they were more like mini-calzones. I missed a small salad here, as it would have made the whole thing a bit lighter. I'd rather have one less fried Maultaschen but with some salad and, for example, grapes, and then the dish would be a bit lighter and more sophisticated, rather than so compact and simple. Otherwise, the presentation of the other dishes was very varied and well-executed. The cocktails are also recommended! All in all, a lovely restaurant with good food, albeit with a few minor blemishes here and there. Recommended for a cocktail evening with friends or just a pleasant evening with good food.

I've never eaten such a delicious burger as I did here. Everything is handmade. Even the burger bun and fries. The service and friendliness are top-notch, and you feel warmly welcomed here. Fantastic service. We got a table without a reservation, great service, very attentive and welcoming. The food was absolutely excellent—not Michelin-starred, but they don't want to be. Delicious burgers, schnitzel, and everything was quick and tasty at reasonable prices.

It was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised! The burger was very good, with the perfect ratio of lettuce, pickles, and onions to the meat. The meat was perfectly grilled and very flavorful. No one ate anything! The service was very friendly and quick, everyone was very friendly and relaxed. The restrooms were exceptionally clean, which is by far the best here in Einbeck! I'd go back anytime!

A great pub for young people, but adults also felt good here! Good food, both starters and main courses. We recommend it to those who like to eat a lot, because there are plenty of dishes to choose from: large, very large and mega large!

There were 8 of us in total and the food came almost at the same time. After a maximum of 5 minutes everyone had their food after the first one got theirs. The food is really good and very nicely “decorated”. I can only speak for the women's toilet, but it's really nice. There is a basket with deodorant, hairspray and hand cream that you can use free of charge. The saying on the mirror is very sweet. Overall, it is also very clean and the staff is super friendly and accommodating, even with individual requests.

Yesterday we celebrated a big birthday with 14 people in the Gigant. Everything really fell into place here. Super delicious food that was prepared and served to perfection. We were warmly welcomed with four people and no reservations. The staff is very friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The three of us had the grill plate and a grill plate for one person. My friend had a burger with homemade buns. I can highly recommend all of the dishes. The drinks were beautifully decorated and tasted better than usual. The toilets were new, very clean and additionally equipped with deodorant etc. Since the entrance is not wheelchair accessible, there are two removable ramps available at the entrance. The only drawback in the beautifully decorated restaurant is that there is no acoustic ceiling. When the restaurant is full, it gets very loud. We will come again.

Great atmosphere, modern. Unfortunately, there is a lot of drag on the door, so the curtain should always remain closed, but unfortunately this is not always taken into account. Not just for me, “The Restaurant in Einbeck” with a diverse food and drink menu, very attentive and always courteous service. XXL is clearly an understatement. The burgers, the schnitzels, the grilled skewers and the range of desserts are great. Be sure to try it out and reserve a table in advance.

It's a very inconspicuous restaurant from the outside. I never really noticed. But inside is very comfortable. When I visited it had 500g of Jägerschnitzel. It was super tasty. The other dishes also looked really good. I will definitely eat there again.

Overall, a great restaurant tip... it's worth the 50 minute journey 🤗 The service was attentive and very nice. The food came for all 8 people at the same time and was very good. The citizen rolls also tasted great. We ordered steak exactly on point. Price performance €€€ We'll definitely come back.

Sorry guys, that doesn't work at all. We had ordered for 7:00 p.m. for 50 people. Food was chosen days in advance. The first salads arrived at 8:30 p.m. If the kitchen can't handle it, you are not allowed to accept such reservations.

We stayed in accommodation 2 km outside of Einbeck and had food delivered. First of all the positive points: - The fries were crispy thanks to the short delivery, but could have been seasoned a little more strongly. - The Giant Premium Burger with the Texas Style sauce was also good. The sauce has a slightly pleasant spiciness. Now for the criticism: - There was NO coleslaw, as stated, but a "normal" lifeless small salad. - The question as to whether the cream of porcini mushroom soup was “available” was answered in the affirmative. It arrived, but partially spilled in the bag and with the plastic lid melted, which was in the soup. Positive that it was hot, but the delivery capability needs to be worked on. - The “baked bread sticks” were completely missing from the soup. - I thought there weren't enough fries - Delivery 2km outside Einbeck cost €5. Otherwise it would probably be free. That is clearly too much. - The prices on the online menu weren't right, we had to pay a little more

Yesterday the four of us had dinner at Gigant. All 4 dishes were great. I have to say, from the welcome to the service to the food until we left, everything was perfect. Please keep it up.
