Beautiful, creative and unique ambience within historic walls. Very friendly and professional service and delicious food. We were upstairs for dinner. Very nicely and creatively decorated. Old and new in stylish harmony. The historic window frame facing the market square, the view of the market square and the old town streets, original and at the same time pleasant and modern wall lighting (cups), the beautifully set table, the friendly and courteous, professional staff, dishes that are tasty for the eyes and the palate... enjoyment all around!

We went here for dinner for the first time. Positively surprised by the great location. We were greeted very friendly and shown to a table. The waiter quickly brought us the menu and presented us with the board with the daily specials. The drinks we ordered didn't take long to arrive. After a little greeting from the kitchen, our pizzas arrived promptly, which not only looked good, but also tasted delicious. Highly recommend the tiramisu as a dessert. Our little dog, the Maltese lady Luna😉, wasn't a problem either, and at the end we had a little treat. We will definitely come back...

According to my 34 years of experience (and I only eat in restaurants) the best restaurant that offers Italian food from Stuttgart to Cologne. I have been to around 800 restaurants in southern Germany so far and have to admit that my experience here was superlative. Will definitely come again to enjoy the best Italian cuisine here.

We were greeted nicely and shown to the table. At first people constantly asked if everything was OK. The food on the menu is extremely tasty. I had the veal schnitzel with porcini mushrooms and fries. My opposite is the fish with risotto. The waiter was very nice and tried hard for us. But now this is coming. But unfortunately the food was extremely bad for this price. Watery mushroom sauce with lumps. Everything tasted bland, the fries seemed like they had been warmed up, I couldn't eat them. My counterpart tried it and was equally shocked by the quality. If I had eaten it my stomach would have turned. The bites I had were ugh. After the complaint, no one came to us to ask about our well-being. They didn't accommodate us in terms of price, but offered us a dessert on the house. Which was out of all proportion to the price of €32 for the schnitzel. Definitely a lot of room for improvement when it comes to food. Unfortunately, that's why this review. We will never eat there again. Quality and price are disproportionate to each other.

Went to Gianni with a group today, we were more than satisfied. The food, the whole family, the ambience was all great 😉 We'll be back very soon! We were there on Sunday when shopping was open, signs advertised the best cheesecake etc., which we then wanted to order. It was said at the square that many cakes were sold out. We then decided on the cake that was still available + 2 latte macchiatos. The lattes were really small, the cake was sponge cake. The shock came when we wanted to pay because we had to pay €17 for two small latte glasses and two pieces of sponge cake. A latte macchiato at €4 in a 0.2 glass is extremely expensive, but charging €4.50 for a dry piece of cake is extortionate! Apart from that the spoons were dirty. We were definitely there for the last time

Before our visit (4 people), I had read the reviews, which were very broad. I wanted to form my own, unbiased opinion. Here is my personal conclusion: Unfortunately, criticisms expressed in the reviews don't seem to be taken that seriously. The daily table still has no prices and is carelessly placed in front of you without saying much about it. Ambience: we sat outside, with a view of the market square and church. A plus that is there, but doesn't really have anything to do with the restaurant's performance. The waitresses - male - seemed arrogant, listless and somewhat unfriendly to us. The food was good, but the prices, for example, normal schnitzel with fries and salad (salad cost extra) at 30.00 euros. There was no toilet paper in the toilet and nothing to dry your hands with. I reported it, but whether something happened afterwards...? A squat “bye” as we leave. My conclusion as a Neustadter: I won't go there anymore and won't recommend it to anyone else. There are better and, in true Palatinate style, friendlier restaurants that can cook just as well or even better. Too bad. But the owner can work on it as long as he recognizes criticism as constructive criticism.

The people working there speak poor English thing quite negative for a touristic place. The gnocchi were very bad, the pesto was not even close to an Italian pesto… the big issue came when we wanted to pay and they started a strange story regarding not having a card machine and then that is broken. With a small infant and the heat we had to go around town to find an ATM in order to take cash (pay a huge amount of fee from the bank) as in 2024 a restaurant and not a food truck does not accept credit cards! And the staff was so round! They did not inform us upon arrival and the only sign is in German

Very courteous staff! The pizza was delicious, nice and crispy on the edge and definitely big enough. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again!

Basically a nice restaurant, but we expected more from the pizza. The pizza was a bit limp and the ingredients were saved on some pizzas (see the buffalo mozerela pizza).

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I have to say the service was absolutely outstanding. Gianni in particular made our evening an unforgettable experience. He was attentive, friendly and always had a smile on his face. His food and wine recommendations were perfect and he really took the time to make sure we weren't missing anything. Such personal and dedicated service is rare these days - a big compliment to Gianni and the entire team! We'll definitely be back.

We went to the pizzeria last night. When I opened the menu, there were two long black hairs under the cover. After I complained to the boss, I was told: "There were already 700 guests there today, something like that could happen." I then had a freshly prepared lemonade with lime and ginger Ordered. Lemonade came with dried orange slices... like from the old Advent wreath... and currants. The bottom of the pizza my husband ordered was burnt. All in all, we don't go there anymore and we can't either recommend.

Went there for lunch and ordered seafood and salmon from the daily menu. Everything looked very tasty. Unfortunately, the stomach pain started shortly afterwards and after vomiting and diarrhea for the fifth time, we called them. When we politely pointed out that the fish was bad or there was something wrong with the food, we were asked if we doubted the quality of the cuisine and that that was impossible with you. In addition, we apparently ate something bad beforehand and, as partners, we probably infected each other. For us, who hadn't sat before, weren't partners and had a lunch date and hadn't seen before, that definitely sounded very plausible... Shortly afterwards, the phone call was quickly ended and we were told that we were welcome to come back at any time. Very rude and presumptuous! It's unfortunate... we enjoyed going there to this day, but after that it was the last time!

I was walking around the centrum when I came upon Gianni's. It has a great view of the square. I ordered the octopus salad and tagliatelle with beef and mushrooms, and everything was tasty and fresh. The server, Tony, was very kind and helpful, answering my questions about the dishes and making recommendations for the wine. He speaks excellent English and it was nice to have someone translate the specials for me, as my German language skills are not great.

The first impression was negative. Cutlery was rolled up in already used napkins (1x grease stain and 1x paprika residue), waiter sets up service board with daily specials without prices - the surprise comes later when paying. We know it from the Haardter winemaker. The menu has been used 100 times and is tattered. None of this corresponds to the restaurant's pricing. The food and the ambience get top marks, the rest, well...

I have been a loyal customer of this beautiful restaurant for a long time and am always extremely satisfied. My friends and I always receive a warm welcome here and enjoy the food and the family atmosphere

We where group of four dining one evening and the female vaiter made us feeling like she was doing us a favor by serving us. No smile and no warmth in a flat environment. Three out of four dinners where good but the forth was not. When our friend shared the fact with the waiter that she could not eat it since it was not good, the reply she got was, you still need to pay for it and do you want me to pack it in. Nobody said they where sorry of tried to understand the customer experience. Due to the “non reaction” From the vaiter we cannot reccomend this restaurant.

Gianni Terrible service and terrible “risotto”. We arrived a group of 4 and immediately we felt that the service was inattentive, especially the lady (the young man was ok but rather passive and a bit lost). We all ordered at the same time and two of us from the menu of the day (which did not have any prices - which should have been our second red flag). Three of us got the food at the same time but one had to wait for ca 10 minutes. I had ordered dorado fish with lemon risotto and immediately I see that the rice is not risotto rice and had no lemon flavor - this was absoloutely NOT risotto and the fish was overcooked and not fresh. I told the waiter this and asked to order something else. They did not apologize nor offer a discount and asked if they should pack this to go since I would still have to pay for it. Obviously I said no! The replacement food was ok - and everything was ridiculously overpriced. AND to top it all off they do not accept cards - only cash. I left there super angry and feeling ripped off. Never again! Stay away and rather go to other places around that have better food and fair price.

The prices in the house are justified so there is nothing to complain about. 2 people with one pizza and one pasta with a starter of soup and bruscetta. The soup was fresh and, above all, homemade. Very nice restaurant right on the market square. Warm service, especially from the owner. We were there in a group with two small children. The child-friendliness was already very positive during our last visit. We were allowed to go to the upper floor which we had to ourselves. Inside, the restaurant in an old half-timbered house is individually and tastefully furnished. Outdoor terrace also very nice with a great view of the beautiful market square. The food was very tasty and the portions were good (not too little not too much) and above all the quality was good. From pasta & gnocci to pizza to schnitzel and fries for the kids. I found the price-performance ratio to be absolutely fair: pizzas were actually quite cheap, pasta and main courses weren't quite as cheap, but both the quality and taste were good. So from my point of view it's completely ok. We will be back definitely.

Today we went to the Gianni Neustadt on the market square on the recommendation of our friends. Since we were often guests at Haardter Winzer in the past and loved eating there because Stefano was the head chef there and now works at Gianni, we definitely wanted to go there! Guys I'm telling you this is another level of amazingly delicious cuisine. My husband had baby calamari with pasta pomodoro. I chose sea bass and it was a poem! A clear must to stop there as a guest. Family business super warm and great atmosphere ❤️👍🏻

We ate really good pizza at GIANNI and the service was, as expected, good and attentive. But we also experienced the other side. On the second visit, the guests at the next table also received the menu A board with the daily recommendations was brought to the table, which was even read out by the waitress. We were just given the menu. A few minutes later the waitress came to take our order and without comment placed the board with the daily recommendations in front of us. On the day in question, a rainy Saturday afternoon, there were only 3 tables occupied. The service staff would have had enough time to pay a little more attention to the few guests. We had already decided on a dish from the menu and chose the spaghetti allo scoglio or the risotto allo scoglio, two side salads and drinks. The portions were, let's say, manageable, especially the scoglio. Compared to other restaurants, the lowest quantity at the highest price. We were also disturbed by the staff meeting and the noise level that came from it. We were disappointed this time and we'll see if we come again...

I had dinner here with my girlfriend yesterday and was very surprised. Apparently there must have been a change of ownership or a radical switch in the idea of ​​this restaurant. We were there two years ago and didn't recognize anything about it. Service was friendly, but by no means professional, nor careful or loving. We ate a platter with three kinds of fish for two people with a very high price of 75 euros - which unfortunately didn't taste like 75 euros. Sure: zander, octopus and sea bream are not necessarily “cheap”, but for 75 euros I expect excellent quality. I was also charged a 0.33 Cola, as I had ordered - but only brought a 0.2 Cola. I'm not the type of person who complains in restaurants - in fact, I expect not to have to and always pay what I'm charged. But one thing is clear for the future: I will never come here again. Luckily, there are many good restaurants with excellent value for money in Neustadt and the surrounding area (Deidesheim, Forst, etc.). For 50 euros p.p. You can get fine dining with 3 courses in the area! Edit: You can also only pay in cash. It's 2024, that's not the current standard :)

Then came spaghetti with shrimps and a kind of wild garlic pesto. In terms of taste it's more like a canteen, in terms of price it's more of an upscale restaurant. Nothing really fit, especially the price of €23. I don't know how they can hold on. The whole process, the food, the story with the table...

Today we went to the Gianni in Neustadt with a larger group. An incredibly great location, everything is inviting and a well-equipped restaurant with attention to detail. The food is all made with fresh ingredients and you can taste that in every single dish. The asparagus menu was very extensive and we were all extremely satisfied! A successful stay. You can tell that a whole family is working here and doing so with a lot of passion ❤️ We'll definitely be back very soon... just for the homemade ravioli and the baby calamari 👌👌

Yesterday we were out among the girls in Neustadt in spring temperatures. We headed towards the market square and saw the Gianni. A beautiful spot almost like Bella Italia on the piazza. At least 100 guests were sitting in the sun with wine and pasta (and more). We We just got a table for 4. Nice staff took care of us immediately. We ordered the following: mixed fish platter with rosemary potatoes which was outstanding. My friend chose the Pizza Grudo, all the ingredients were very fresh and beautifully presented plates. Gnocchi are homemade and also the tagliatelle .This restaurant is a family business.Despite the many guests, they tried to do justice to each individual guest. A big compliment also to the boss, who comes across as very warm.We will come back.Keep it up

As a native of Neustadt, I can clearly say that this restaurant gianni is an indispensable part of Neustadt. A true Italian family who do their work with passion. The dishes are prepared in traditional, original Italian style Yesterday we had the Italian Cordeun bleu with homemade pasta fruity tomato sauce. And I decided on the veal cutlet with stone pepper risotto. The tiramisu was also delicious, especially because it was alcohol-free. A big thank you to Gianni Neustadt, who has become a big part of our beautiful city.

Everything perfect! Best fish quality in the whole of Rhineland Palatinate and the surrounding area. Great stone oven pizzas. Antipasti are far from being beaten either. I mention the staff at the end because, as we all know, the best comes at the end: familiar, authentic and ITALIAN, which is what no other supposed Italian in Neustadt has to offer! Unfortunately, the waiting time was incredibly long (really far too long) and it wasn't just us - the people at the table next to us eventually got up and left because no one wanted to take their order. Any indication that you can only pay in cash and not by card would have been great too. Because of this, or because of the payment problem at the end, it ended up happening so quickly that when I did the math I also realized that I was being charged significantly too much money... It really annoys me, but it's somehow my own fault, so checked off. I can recommend pizza ;-) and the dishes for the kids were also great and absolutely sufficient.
