Schöner Biergarten. Die Gerichte sehr schmackhaft und frisch zubereitet. Freundliche Bedienung. Viele eigene Parkplätze. Einen Stern ziehe ich trotzdem insgesamt ab da die Preise sehr hoch sind.

Selten so enttäuschend gegessen – und das ausgerechnet an einem Ort, der früher einmal für wirklich gute Küche stand. Brauhaus Gerber hat sich leider massiv verschlechtert. Das Essen wirkte wie günstige Convenience-Ware: stark verarbeitet, schwer, fettig und geschmacklich eher nach Großhandel als nach frischer Brauhausküche. Das Schnitzel schmeckte hauptsächlich nach altem Fritteusenfett, der Burger war komplett von Rosmarin erschlagen. Danach hatte man weniger das Gefühl, gut gegessen zu haben, sondern eher, als würde der Magen gleich platzen. Besonders schade ist der direkte Vergleich zu früher. Damals war das Brauhaus für gehobene Küche bekannt – heute wirkt vieles nur noch zusammengeworfen, paniert und frittiert. Qualität oder Raffinesse sucht man leider vergeblich. Die Location selbst ist weiterhin gemütlich, groß und gut für Familien geeignet. Auch die Bedienung war freundlich. Allerdings mussten wir trotz fast leerem Laden rund 20 Minuten warten, bis überhaupt jemand bemerkt hat, dass wir zahlen möchten. Unterm Strich bleibt leider nur die Erkenntnis: schöne Atmosphäre, aber kulinarisch mittlerweile eine echte Enttäuschung…

Wir hatten für eine Familienfeier am Abend reserviert. Bei Ankunft im Brauhaus wurden erst die Tische zusammengestellt. Die Bestellung der Getränke wurde zeitnah gebracht. Auf die bestellten Gerichte müssten wir mehr wie 1 1/2 Stunden warten. Teilweise waren die Gerichte nur lauwarm und bei den Spargelgerichten war der Spagel nur "angekocht". So lange haben wir bisher in keinem Lokal warten müssen. Auch wenn an diesem Tag viele Gäste im Brauhaus waren, so etwas sollte nicht passieren.

Offizielle Öffnungszeiten bis 23 Uhr. Als Gast des Hotels wollten wir kurz nach halb elf auf ein schnelles Getränk. Die Lichter waren aus und man gab uns zu verstehen, dass es für uns nichts mehr gibt. Hier schließt man wohl überpünktlich.

Schönes Lokal mit großem Aussenbereich. Guter Service und schmackhafte Speisen machen es für mich attraktiv. Das selbstgebraute Bier finde ich sehr gelungen. Die Preise sind für mich im Mittelfeld, das Ambiente lässig und eher robust. Durch den doch sehr großen Gast-Raum ist es je nach Anzahl Gäste etwas laut, stört mich aber nicht.

Spontan hin , gut gegessen und ich möchte erwähnen : Super nettes Personal ! Das sagt man zu selten ! Empfangs Dame und Kellner , wunderbar !

Essen war okay, aber nichts besonderes. Vom Schnitzel viel die Panade runter und die Pommes waren lätschig. Die Bedienung war etwas unfreundlich, wir hatten 3 Essen bestellt, 2 kamen gleichzeitig, das andere Erst sehr spät, als die anderen 2 schon fast fertig waren, kenne ich so nicht und alle anderen Tische haben es mit mehr Leuten so bekommen. Auf Nachfrage, wo denn das 3. Essen bleibt, haben wir die Antwort erhalten, dass die Bedienung keine 3 Arme hätte. Ohne Worte. Also wir dann das Essen hatte , kam sie noch einmal her und fragte, ob jetzt das Essen gekommen sei. ?!?!

Sehr gutes, rustikal aber hübsch eingerichtetes Restaurant. Das Personal ist äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die speisenauswahl ist nicht zu groß, aber es ist für jeden etwas dabei und alles was wir dort bisher hatten war sehr lecker.

Speisen waren durchweg gross portioniert, geschmacklich ansprechend. War positiv von der Dauer der Essenbestellaufgabe bis Zuordnung von Vorspeise und Hauptspeise angetan, trotz größerer Gruppe und voller Auslastung im Innenbereich. Wir kommen wieder. Preislich etwas angehoben aber zur Gesamtleistung akzeptabel

Super schöne Location und sehr netter Service. Ich hatte ein Radler (war wohl mit Pilz gemacht) und käsespätzle. Die Käsespätzle waren gefühlt mit einem Becher Sahne gemacht. Würde ich beides nicht mehr bestellen

Bier war gut die Ente war auch nicht so schlecht aber die zwei Mini Knödel waren wohl ein vorgezogener April Scherz

Wirklich spannende Wirtschaft mit gutem Essen, auch nicht ganz so gängige schwäbische Gerichte, die man nicht mehr sooo oft und überall bekommt. Service ist schnell und freundlich und die Preise sind ok.

Rindsrouladen mit Rotkraut und Kartoffelpüree dazu ein hausgebrautes Weißbier, immer wieder ein Genuss! Dazu sehr aufmerksame Bedienung! Alles in allem wirklich seinen Preis wert!

Essen und Service gut. Preis-Leistung eher gehobener. Akustisch sehr laut, da es ein großer Raum ist. Sonntags zur Mittagszeit mindestens 50 Minuten Wartezeit aufs Essen, das toppt echt alles...also zu der Zeit nie wieder.

Wir hatten den Eindruck das manche Gerichte nicht selbst zubereitet wurden, da sollte man sich auf weniger Gerichte konzentrieren, dafür aber Hausgemacht!

Gute deutsche Küche. Richtig urige Ambiente mit gutem Bier und gutem Service. Waren alle richtig nett und aufmerksam.

The food tasted okay. But...if you have to hunt for the mushrooms in the creamy mushroom sauce (3 half mushrooms on the plate), then for me, that's not a creamy mushroom sauce 😒

Dear Team – honestly – have you fired your chefs? We've always been satisfied before, but today at lunchtime, with six people, it was a complete disaster. The schnitzel with fries was like something from a fast-food joint, only much more expensive… I'd bet the schnitzel was frozen. The roast duck looked like a ready-made meal – a tiny, boneless piece – with two lukewarm dumplings the size of ping-pong balls for almost €30?????? Two roast beefs – well, were the spaetzle real or from a packet? Please be honest! For over €35 each… The trout "Müllerin" was boiled – it was even blue! That certainly wasn't pan-fried, and the potatoes were definitely canned. And of course, it was whole and deboned – that speaks more to Nestlé than artisanal cooking. At least the cordon bleu was as usual – pan-fried and a huge portion. We accepted it and didn't complain – why would we? You can't change anything anyway. We skipped dessert, coffee, etc. Service: I know we all started somewhere. So it's not a huge criticism, but a trainee who juggles things so uncertainly at the table NEEDS more training BEFORE an accident happens to a guest.

The food was hearty and the prices steep. The noise level in the former factory hall was high. Plenty of parking was available.

Food good, staff super friendly and attentive

Oh man, we're so disappointed. It's been two years since we moved up north. We were really looking forward to trying the Swabian cuisine, but unfortunately, the food wasn't nearly worth the price. The roulades were too salty, the spaetzle, mashed potatoes, and red cabbage seemed like pre-made products, and the gravy was far too thick and salty. At this price point, the spaetzle and side dishes should be homemade. It's a real shame. We remembered it being much better. The service was very friendly.

The food has declined quite a bit in recent years. There's not much handmade food anymore. But it's not bad. I'd still describe it as standard German fare.

Unfortunately, for groups of 15 people, there's only a limited menu. I would have liked to try a dish that wasn't on the limited menu. I also have to say that the food didn't impress me taste-wise. It was also disappointing that the waiter didn't arrive until 5 minutes after the kitchen closed, and that dessert wasn't available.

Open all day Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is typical of a brewery – a bit loud but cozy, and you can still have a conversation. The food is delicious and the portions are quite generous.

Went out to eat with family. It was delicious and the service was great. One dish was prepared incorrectly (spätzle instead of fries). The staff made a real effort and brought us more fries. We'll be back.

The food was very good and suitable for larger groups.

We spontaneously visited Gerber on a Saturday evening and quickly secured a table for two. The service was excellent, and I was delighted when I spotted the half farm-bred duck with red cabbage and dumplings on the menu. Unfortunately, what I got was very disappointing: a piece of boned duck meat the size of a very small half chicken. When I asked, I was told everything was fine, though the subsequent round of schnapps was only a small consolation. The quality and quantity, for a hefty €28, were not what we're used to at Gerber.

First of all. We've been regular guests at the brewery for many years and have always been satisfied with the food. However, that wasn't the case today. The menu offers a Haxn Bowl for just under €18. The menu describes the various salads and mentions that a mini haxe is included. I would have accepted that the mini haxe was even smaller than mini. However, the fact that this little bit of haxe was only half a haxe is unacceptable. After I asked the waitress why, contrary to the menu description, it wasn't a whole but only a half, she told me she didn't know either, but she could ask. When I returned, she told me that half a mini haxe was correct, as a whole one would be too big. Dear people who sent this message: If the menu says ONE mini haxe, it simply can't be just a half!!! If it had been a large mini knuckle, I would have understood. But that was by far the smallest mini knuckle, or half, I've ever seen!!! It certainly wasn't 60g of meat. That's not OK. Especially since I had to pay for a whole knuckle, and my half ended up on another plate, which also paid for a whole mini knuckle. The waitress was very nice. She treated me to a double espresso. Nevertheless... Please change the menu and clearly state that for €18 you can get a salad with HALF a mini knuckle! Based on our otherwise always good experiences, we're giving the food 3 stars instead of the one we deserved today.

We were there as part of a group and felt very comfortable. The food was excellent and quick. The service was also unobtrusive. It was a bit noisy, though, as it was packed. Plenty of parking was available. The atmosphere was lovely.

Bird droppings were hanging from the chairs, making it uninviting to sit comfortably. The salad itself was very good, but the portions have become much smaller than they used to be. They only serve unhealthy pork schnitzel, and unfortunately, there's no alternative for chicken or turkey lovers. However, the staff are very friendly and quick to respond if you need anything.

Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, we could only sit inside. It was far too crowded and too loud, so you had to shout at each other to have a conversation. The food was okay.

Absolutely negative experience. We were there on August 2, 2025, at 5:30 PM with eight people. A table was reserved. The seating was good. Initial service and the order were also OK. At least at first glance. I myself had a cream soup with chanterelles as a starter, ordered for €8.90. The soup came in a small soup cup, garnished with a few croutons, and the cup was only two-thirds full. It tasted worse than, for example, Metro instant soups. Not worth the money. Four people received their main courses about 20-25 minutes after ordering. Everything was OK, but these four people were waiting for the main courses of the remaining four people. After they still hadn't arrived after eight to ten minutes, the four people who had already received their dishes started eating their half-cold dishes. After about another 15 minutes, these four people had already finished their plates, and the other four of us still didn't have our main courses. When we asked the waitress, we were told they would be right there. When the dishes were delivered another five minutes later, the waitress explained that the manager would offer us two or three desserts as compensation, to be placed in the middle of the table – the exact words of the waitress. We were given the dessert menu. However, the waitress immediately excluded several desserts, such as the brownie. We lost our appetite. We declined to order dessert, arguing that two or three desserts were a problem for all the guests, and we don't think that's okay. The waitress then responded in a rude and cheeky manner, saying that she hadn't said that, since EVERYONE would have gotten something, but not all eight. This mathematical logic is new to me. Sorry, THIS is the very first time I've written a negative review on Google, but the entire process is unprofessional, not customer- or guest-focused, and demonstrates poor manners. At this point, I can only advise against visiting the restaurant.

We were at the restaurant with eight people – unfortunately, it was a completely disappointing experience. The food for the first four guests arrived relatively quickly, but the other four had to wait over 30 minutes longer – only after the first four had finished did the rest arrive. Eating together was therefore impossible. The service was completely overwhelmed, disorganized, and showed little effort to resolve the situation or respond in a friendly manner. Overall, unfortunately, I would not recommend it.

Nice German cuisine, the prices are a bit higher than in a normal restaurant, but very good conditions and good beer.

Price performance doesn't fit much too expensive with little content.

First the positive, the food was very good and the service was very friendly. But if you go to a brewery to drink the special types of beer and they are not available, it is sad and poor. When you ask the brewmaster why there is no Edel, you are reprimanded and described as one of the few "Hansele" who seem to ask exactly that. P.S. There was no wheat beer either...

We were at Brauhaus Essen today with a large group for business. As on previous occasions, we received excellent service and care. The service team is extremely well-organized, and always polite and accommodating, even with special requests! A special thank you goes out to Nicole again; she warmly supported and advised us on many of our questions this evening. The food was not only perfect and perfectly seasoned, but also a feast for the eyes 🤗 The beer - - > absolutely delicious! We felt completely at home and would come back anytime, even privately - highly recommended!

Went for dinner and ordered the Gaisburger March. The taste was good but unfortunately the plate was only half full. There is no price/performance ratio (€16.80). The service was great

We went there with friends. There's plenty of parking, and the grounds are beautiful. Everything looks well-maintained. You're warmly greeted and shown to your table. We had a seat in the gallery. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and plentiful. The prices are a bit high, but knowing it's of such high quality, I'm willing to pay that price.

Great atmosphere, great service and most importantly the food was very delicious. I had the roast beef with onions and bread with a small salad as a starter. The roast beef was perfectly medium and well seasoned. I am very likely to eat both dishes again when revisiting. Full recommendation!

Here, emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients and regional products. The menu offers a variety of dishes that are both traditional and creative. For example, the homemade pretzels and the freshly tapped beer are a dream for every guest. Many visitors rave about the hearty specialties, which go perfectly with a convivial evening. This makes every visit a culinary experience.

Had our Christmas dinner with family here on December 26th. Great service, fast, friendly! The food is tasty, beautiful furnished. Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. It's everything Organized, doesn't seem hectic, even though there are a lot of guests! Definitely recommended. Keep it up! LG

The service is not worth a star. We had to wait three quarters of an hour for our drinks. The billing was incorrect back and forth. The food is okay but nothing more. The atmosphere is like an old warehouse. I wouldn't recommend it.

The restaurant offers a very large and inviting location that is suitable for both larger groups and smaller groups of two or four. The view of the brewing kettle is particularly beautiful, giving the ambience a special touch. The service was friendly and quick, so we immediately felt at home. The food was tasty, but we found the portions a bit small in relation to the price. I had the bacon-wrapped chicken breast with parmesan spaghetti and zucchini - the taste was great, but for 21 euros I would have expected a little more (see picture). Unfortunately, the starter soup was also really small for 7 euros. The salad was delicious. Overall, a nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, but could be improved in terms of price-performance ratio.

If you would like to take your dog to a restaurant with really friendly and animal-loving staff, you are in good hands here. However, if you want to eat well and cheaply, you should definitely go somewhere else. Cooking Basic - Schnitzel Viennese style: So bland and really dry. I never thought you could mess up a schnitzel like that. The rest of the food - spaetzle and cream sauce are also rather bland. Fries are dry too. The worst thing is the price of the two dishes that my husband and I were served: Schnitzel Viennese style - once with fries and once with spaetzle with a portion of cream sauce. 1 meat soup, two salads (no side salad!) and 4 halfs (beer). Everything together cost just under €80. Conclusion: Every housewife can make a better schnitzel. The price of this meal is absolutely not justified. I definitely won't go there a second time.

Yesterday the three of us - my wife, our three-year-old daughter and I - went to the restaurant for lunch. As always, the food was excellent. However, I would particularly like to emphasize the exceptionally friendly and warm treatment of our daughter. We have never experienced anything like this in any other restaurant. The team was incredibly attentive, patient and loving, so that our little one felt comfortable from the first moment. It's so nice when a restaurant not only offers great food, but also creates a child-friendly atmosphere. Thank you everyone for this! We are already looking forward to our next visit. (The little one is still happy about the sweets she received, the Christmas headband and the pin ;) )

There were almost 15 of us and we had reserved. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive and also funny. The food came to everyone at the table almost at the same time. Which was great. Other restaurants sometimes cannot do this. The location looks really nice. Great atmosphere. The price is a bit more expensive (e.g. Cordon Bleu with fries but without salad almost €22) but it tasted great and there was plenty of it. We can definitely recommend it and would consider going there again at any time. It is also suitable for wheelchairs/walkers and the toilets are at ground level. Sufficient parking spaces also available. And in front of the entrance there is a small winter photo hut, snowmen made of tires, etc. Visually very beautiful, especially in the dark.

The goose tasted very good, not dry either, Sauce could have been more Like every year, the chestnuts with it were extremely dry. I tried 3 of them. I actually really like chestnuts, but unfortunately I don't like the Sahara feeling in my mouth. Red cabbage was a dream, this time not too “Christmasy” in taste like last year. The waitresses were very friendly, great, attentive service.

Had schnitzel and pimmes, spaetzle and salad, it tasted very good and was also quite large. Setvice very nice and fond of children. You don't have to go to Göppingen's flagship brewery.

Recently attended a wedding at Gerberbräu - from the location to the food to the service throughout the entire event, everything was first class and I would recommend it to anyone!

Rustic restaurant with good middle-class cuisine in the rooms of a former tannery. The home-brewed beers are also excellent.

Demanding 30 euros for the onion roast is an impudence. Guests ordered more because they were still hungry. A sauce (pork gravy) for all dishes. Fried potatoes were more fried than fried and were much too crispy (hard) in places. Ambience is quite nice.
