The service at today's lunch was polite and attentive. The ambiance was also quite pleasant. The beef broth as a starter was fine. However, the "Wiener Schnitzel" was disappointing. It wasn't crisped up—as is typical for a Wiener Schnitzel—and was unfortunately very greasy. The taste of the fat, which seemed to be past its prime, was quite pronounced. The fries served with it were, sadly, frozen.

Expensive food for very small portions. "Wiener Schnitzel" would be a more accurate description on the menu. The taste was not outstanding for the price. A fork and knife were provided with the pasta portion. Was this to cut the pasta? The service was generally quite inexperienced when it came to serving and clearing plates.

We were guests at Genusswerkstadt on October 25, 2025, for a birthday celebration. We had a two-year-old child with us. When we asked if we could have a high chair, we were told that they were all occupied. As it turned out, there were only two other parties present, without children. Thanks for that. When we ordered drinks, the same waiter (with an ironic mustache) interrupted our waitress without apology. The waitress forgot my drink and brought one that was completely wrong and then the wrong size. My wife ordered the Wiener Schnitzel (listed as such on the menu). When it arrived with the words, "Who has the Wiener Schnitzel?", our faces fell. My mother-in-law ordered the fish, and it was cold. Because the little one was getting restless, we quickly finished the birthday meal. The remaining dishes (tortellini, pot roast) were okay. The payment process was difficult again. The staff repeatedly ignored our attempts to speak to them or make eye contact. Only when the person who had reserved our reservation became uncomfortably accustomed to us were we finally allowed to leave the restaurant. As we were leaving, we asked the waitress for some warm water for our child's bottle. The bottle came back filled to the brim with boiling water. Naturally, the bottle didn't survive that, and my wife ended up with burnt fingers. We've definitely had better birthdays. The service was abysmal, and the restaurant's name was certainly misleading.

We spontaneously changed our plans and managed to snag a table here (thanks for that!). We had a wonderful evening there yesterday. First of all, the service was consistently friendly and attentive. From the appetizer and main course to dessert (the birthday girl is still happy) and the delicious espresso, we felt like we were completely taken care of. We'll be back, thank you for everything.

By chance we were able to get a table through the host of the evening, Ibrahim, whom we had met the evening before in the entrance hall. What a lovely atmosphere, we were given a warm welcome straight away, including a short tour of the gourmet workshop. A great evening with attentive service, delicious food and perfect wine. It won't be our last visit, thank you for everything!

Motto: Oriental food. I received the 4-course menu for my birthday. We went there with great joy. Oriental food can be truly delicious! But for €69, the course was far too simple and expensive. Course 1: 3 stuffed vine leaves with 2 tablespoons of yogurt (not even seasoned with oriental spices). Course 2: a thin lentil soup with a slice of beef ham (I'd say the spice came from the ginger). The main course: rice tossed in butter (according to the menu, pilaf in my recipes always comes with vegetables). In the middle: small pieces of veal shank. Dessert: was okay: a slice of milk pudding with 3 dollops of salted caramel and 3 dollops of fruit. For that much money... based on the returned food... we weren't even asked if we enjoyed it... instead, they asked... I can clear the table.

Pleasant, quiet garden. The food was delicious 😋. The large antipasti as a starter is highly recommended. We had the cuttlefish pasta and chicken breast with vegetable curry. Truly 😋 delicious. We'd be happy to go again☺️

Dear Genusswerkstatt team, dear Max, Thank you for letting us celebrate our civil wedding with you. It was a truly wonderful day thanks to you. We rented a small separate room for the ceremony to have some privacy. We were assigned our own waiter, who was very prompt and quickly accommodated our requests. For dinner, we opted for a vegan/vegetarian menu in advance, which everyone enjoyed. A huge plus is definitely the quick and easy communication with the owner. Every email I sent was answered within 24 hours at the latest – which means a lot these days. So, all in all – thank you! We will definitely visit you again on our first wedding anniversary at the latest ❤️

A dreamy ambiance, the service is attentive, polite, and on time. The food is above average, and no dish disappoints. The lunch menu is hard to beat in terms of value for money. Variety, cuisine of the finest quality. I have rarely felt so well looked after in a restaurant. The owner and his team work confidently and take their job very seriously. Our second visit to the Genusswerkstatt, and we're once again impressed. We relaxed on the terrace in the courtyard (with sun protection and an awning available). The appetizer platter was very varied and the portions were generous. A large selection of wines was available – we were recommended a matching one. Attentive, friendly, and courteous service. All three main courses were served simultaneously. Excellent quality and fresh produce. On our next visit to Koblenz, the Genusswerkstatt will be our first choice for a pleasant, enjoyable, and relaxed dinner with friends.

There were three of us here, all teenagers. The food was wonderful, a bit expensive but reasonably priced. The atmosphere was super relaxed. Overall, the decor was great, and the staff was great.

The food was terrible for the price - stringy grilled green asparagus with strawberries and a mango dressing. We had to wait for it more than 30 minutes without any updates from the server, even though the restaurant was empty. Too bad - it's a nice space though.

Ein toller Abend anlässlich unseres Klassentreffens. Tolle Location, super Bedienungen, richtig tolles Essen und eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Dieses Restaurant ist nur zu empfehlen!!! Gerne bringe ich demnächst meine etwas älteren Eltern mit - auch die werden sich bei der Vielfalt der Speisen und Getränke sehr wohlfühlen!!!

While visiting Koblenz around lunchtime, I asked my ChatGPT app for a recommendation for a restaurant serving lunch. This restaurant was the first one mentioned. Although they only have a daily special, I enjoyed it very much. I sat on the indoor terrace in the sunshine and received friendly service.

We went to the restaurant in the evening and ordered beef goulash with homemade spaetzle and Wiener schnitzel. The goulash was very tender and the sauce tasted wonderful. Unfortunately, the spaetzle were too soft and no longer had a good consistency and the leaf lettuce was also missing. My husband got two smaller schnitzels, which were absolutely ok and the taste was good but perhaps the fat should be drained or replaced. Tasted a bit like frying fat. Ambience reminded me more of Morocco. Chic punched out lamps etc.

I liked it and tasted it very much. Good, unobtrusive service. I'll be back!

The atmosphere is very cozy and the service is very nice. The food is tasty but far too low for the price. The fish wasn't seasoned and it came with two tablespoons of cheap creamed spinach. The salad dressing was good, but my portion of tortellini was very manageable. For lunch, if they lower the prices, it's ok, otherwise I don't get the value for the price.

I had dinner at the Genusswerkstatt with 5 other people at the weekend. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. The atmosphere is very nice and appealing, the staff is very courteous and nice, but the food was very carelessly prepared and unfortunately not very delicious. The cordon bleu was very fatty, the goulash was not very digestible and in the vegan dish the broccoli florets weren't even seasoned. Furthermore, it is of course great that a vegan version of the antipasti plate is offered, but if there is no baguette or a vegan bread alternative that you can eat with it, the antipasti will be heavy on your stomach. The quality and presentation of the food just didn't fit the ambience for us. However, everyone was very enthusiastic about the dark chocolate soufflé, which is highly recommended.

Nice ambience, good service. The food, however, was terrible! Fried potatoes and meat were swimming in oil and the cordon bleu was too dry (if it was veal at all?) so not recommended. My wife had hers returned. However, it was on the bill. The operator said there was no error. If the guest sends the food back, a mistake has definitely happened! I have paid and will no longer visit the restaurant, let alone recommend it.

I recently went to the Genusswerkstatt and can only warmly recommend it! The atmosphere is unique and the staff is extremely friendly. The menu offers a great selection and the dishes are freshly prepared and incredibly tasty. The beef fillet in particular was a real highlight – perfectly seasoned and a visual delight. The selection of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired. I will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to everyone!

There were six of us in the Genusswerkstatt. It was my first visit to this restaurant. The staff were very friendly, but in some cases self-absorbed. The atmosphere is attractive and the food is consistently delicious. I found the price-performance ratio to be unsuitable for some dishes, e.g. B. with the bruschetta. I would therefore describe the Genusswerkstatt as a solid restaurant.

Very appealing culinary offering, at, in my opinion, reasonable prices. The employees make you feel welcome. In my opinion, this is a circumstance that is rarely encountered in the catering industry today, so I have a clear recommendation for the Genusswerkstatt.

The service is very nice and reliable. However, I have to say that the food is below average. We had cordon bleu and schnitzel. I haven't had such poorly prepared food in a long time. Absolutely not worth it for the price. The waiting time was also underground. We waited about 50 minutes for the food, which didn't even taste good. The two stars go to the service.

We were there on Christmas Day with four people. As soon as we walked in we felt comfortable and well received. We were greeted and served very politely. The atmosphere was very pleasant. There were two Christmas menus to choose from that evening. Both were excellent, nothing to complain about in terms of taste and were definitely in line with the price we paid. All in all, we can highly recommend this restaurant and it wasn't the last time we were guests there.

Nice atmosphere and very good food. We had the roast goose (breast and leg) and were thrilled. The meat was tender, the skin was crispy, and the side dishes (2 dumplings and red cabbage) were delicious. In terms of portion size, it was enough.

First of all...In the restaurant itself, the recession would probably be better.... We were accommodated in the “studio annex”. The room was heated with a stove, which unfortunately was not sufficient to bring it to a comfortable temperature. The waitress had to go through the courtyard again and again because drinks and food had to be fetched from the restaurant. Open the door, the cold comes in. It was far too cold. Unfortunately the Hachenburger beer was much too warm. The portions are quite manageable but tasty. Personally, I would have liked a little more, especially when it came to side dishes. Quite nice for a larger group but not recommended in winter. The room also cost rent because it was supposed to be used to pay for the additional service. A bit incomprehensible, since a group of 20 people actually bring this in...

The Genusswerkstatt is a culinary-inspired feel-good oasis in the heart of Koblenz. The restaurant is not too big and very tastefully decorated, the outdoor terrace is beautifully laid out in the back yard, away from the loud crowds. The owner and the staff are always courteous, very friendly and always do their best to make you happy as a guest. As soon as you greet us you feel like you're coming home. The kitchen conjures up very tasty and visually appealing dishes. Here we always try to fulfill a little extra wish. There is also a select wine list with excellent wines. Another plus point are the event evenings with international dishes. We enjoy every visit to the Genusswerkstatt!

Super Essen, beste Bratkartoffeln aller Zeiten, absolut ausreichende Portionen (ich hatte das Cordon bleu) nettes Personal, alles prima. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten als Hauptspeise einmal Wildgulasch, das einigermaßen in Ordnung war, wenngleich auch nicht wirklich umwerfend. Richtig schlimm war das zweite Gericht: Rosa Hirschsteak. Das Essen kam nach rekordverdächtigen 10 Minuten und die Hirschsteaks waren zäh wie Leder, keine Spur von „rosa“. Als wir das Gericht zurückgaben, kam nach weitern 5 Minuten ein neuer Teller, diesmal mit rohen und innen kalten Hirschsteaks. Als wir fassungslos auch diesen Teller zurückgaben, schaffte es die Küche beim dritten Mal ein halbwegs anständiges Steak zu braten. Die Beilagen, Kroketten und Rotkohl haben nach Convenience geschmeckt. Als Entschuldigung gab es dann einen Espresso. In der Küche scheinen keine Profis zu arbeiten, ein so schlechtes Handwerk muss man erst einmal hinbekommen. Sehr befremdlich war auch, dass sich das Küchenpersonal nicht selbst für das missratene Essen entschuldigt hat, sondern immer der arme Kellner rausgeschickt wurde. Insgesamt leider sehr enttäuschend.

I went to the restaurant for dinner because I wanted to try a new place. I was greeted very friendly in the restaurant and was offered a small table opposite the entrance door. Unfortunately, there is a draft every time new guests come in. Due to the open design of the room, the guest room doesn't seem very comfortable and the acoustics are rather poor due to the high ceilings. The tables are very close together and you can hear all the neighbors' conversations. The service served me very friendly and quickly, special requests are no problem. You get a small basket of baguette without butter in advance. The wine list is well selected and the wine I ordered was fresh. The menu is small but well selected. I would have liked another nice dish for vegetarians. A little tip: Make a nice vegetable plate with fresh potatoes and a delicious herb sauce. The starter plate is well filled and everything is fresh and tasty. The price/performance ratio is also right here. I was a little disappointed with the main course. Although the dish was fresh, tasty and flavorful, the rice was very sticky and tough. Should there be jasmine rice? The dish was relatively small and therefore the price of almost 20 euros was not appropriate. In total I spent 48 euros on drinks and food. I think it's a nice restaurant for lunch. You can park in the neighboring parking garage.

Since we didn't make a reservation, we only had an hour to eat. As a starter we had bruschetta and as a main course we ordered Thai curry, one with falafel and one with chicken. The falafel didn't convince me, otherwise everything was very tasty. There was too little time for dessert. Too bad. There is one downside to report: Unfortunately, some guests were unable to converse at an appropriate volume. This really bothered us connoisseurs.

We followed the Sander Hotel's recommendation and got a table and were able to stay there a little longer than originally because some people didn't keep their online reservations. This probably happens more often, as service employees reported to us. I find something like that outrageous. Otherwise everything was fine.

For years we enjoyed going to the Genusswerkstatt when we were in Koblenz. The kitchen performance was very good for the price, the service was efficient and friendly. The ambience is bistro-like and successful. Recently, and now for the second time, we were disappointed with the food. We ordered (2 x) 'Tortelli filled with goat cheese and ricotta in sage butter / lettuce in apple herb dressing'. While the tortelli in sage butter were very tasty, some of the lettuce had turned brown and some had even turned black. A cherry tomato had dirt on it. In response to our complaint we received an additional salad. Here too, the leaf lettuce no longer seemed fresh. At EUR 17.90, the dish, which is simple in terms of ingredients, is a proud price. Overall, we can no longer recommend the Genusswerkstatt. This is a shame.

Actually it should be 4 stars. But the overall package, including the operation of Maxim and the pleasant sitting in the winter garden, deserves almost 5*. One after the other. We were very satisfied with the food. Unfortunately, the two sirloin steaks were of completely different sizes. One was medium, the other was well done. The bread was presented to us in advance without comment and we were left wondering whether it belonged to the salad, the starter plate or the (missing) dip. We were given extra plates for the starters, on which the cutlery was placed once for right-handed people and once for left-handed people. The 2 Spezi were also completely non-carbonated and 0.3l instead of 0.5l. The explanation for this was quite simple: they (the 0.3l) were already prepared (however long that was) and had to "go". The 5* was only given because Maxim had tried very hard, was very friendly and we had the feeling that he still needed some practice and routine.

A little away on the otherwise uninviting Clemensstrasse is the Genusswerkstatt, a small, very fine restaurant for more upscale demands. The tastefully furnished guest room or the beautiful, quiet courtyard terrace invite you to linger. The quality of the dishes on offer is excellent, the menu is clear, but clearly stands out from the standard. The friendly service completes the positive impression: a real recommendation! The cheap and varied weekday lunch menu is particularly interesting.
