Absolutely recommended, my favorite restaurant in Essen

I think the ramen is super tasty! But the tofu is just as tasteless as any other tofu. But the vegetarian gyozas are surprisingly delicious. Unfortunately the store is very small and crowded. You can't make a reservation either, so sometimes you have to stand outside a little longer.

Delicious food with a dining room atmosphere (there is no other way, as there are few seats and they are close together). Staff very nice and friendly. Basically 3 x 5*, but a deduction for the “comfort factor”. Update 09/2024 Still super tasty 😋 mine is the bid and Genki Ramen. The starters are really tasty too.

Garlic oil ramen is just awesome. The gyozas were particularly delicious. And delicious drinks :)

We were in the restaurant and unfortunately a bowl broke and we not only got new ramen but were also given chips. But also very nice service, very good food, perfectly cooked eggs, all in one highly recommended!

Each restaurant has its own strengths, specialties and focuses. What you immediately notice is that the team values ​​authentic Japanese food. And even if you think that I have eaten something stronger or more delicious at XYZ in Düsseldorf, you have to honestly admit that there is good, down-to-earth food here. The prices are not quite at the Düsseldorf level yet, but they are well on the way there. It is probably also due to the proximity to Rüttenscheider Strasse. I tried Teriyaki miso ramen and it was very good in taste and perfect portion size. Very kind service as well. I hope to try more of what they can offer.

Our absolute favorite restaurant for ramen. The food is super authentic and the service is very nice. We love the original Japanese lemonades with the ball in them.

Food was good, but doesn't come close to traditional ramen. The store is so crowded that you're almost standing on each other's feet. Choice is available.

Best ramen shop in the area, very nice atmosphere, with 2 people you sometimes have to wait, but rarely longer than 10 minutes until you get a seat in the small shop.

I found the team on site to be very nice, the furnishings and shop were just like other ramen shops, and the prices were completely reasonable. I just found that the gyozas and ramen were very tasty, but a bit too heavy compared to my favorite shops. But that's purely a matter of taste. You can definitely go.

Eating Genki ramen. It turned out to be very tasty and filling.

Super delicious food, especially the Ebi Fry and Tonkotsu Ramen are highly recommended. Noodles could be a little firmer, but that's complaining at the highest level. We were also very impressed by the unusual drinks that are available alongside normal soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Before the lunch break you can usually get a table without queuing or other problems, even on Saturdays. The food is served before you can blink. It's a little more crowded in the afternoon.

Large selection of frames, very tasty! Gyoza also highly recommended. It's best not to arrive too late for lunch during the week, otherwise it can get crowded due to the limited number of seats.

My favorite place in Essen. I come at least once a month. The Genki Ramen with Shoyu broth is definitely my favorite.

The food is 5/5 every time and the service is super friendly.

First of all: I eat ramen often and am a big fan. I don't understand the good reviews. The ramen was lukewarm, the meat tasted old and unpleasant. Very bad quality. The toilet had no light and you couldn't enter the toilet because of a huge pool of urine. After I made my criticism very friendly when paying, nothing came apart from a 'sorry'. All in all, not a recommendation from me.

Great RAMEN at an affordable price.

Nice personel. Food authentic with potential for improvement. The "lava egg" is soft as wax, but gray on the outside and not visually appetizing. The ramen was delicious, but you have to pay extra for extra vegetables. These inserts are not really found on the very small cards. Prices are okay. Ambiance can be improved, it is a typical fast food restaurant that is very busy (especially after 7 p.m.).

Really delicious ramen, nice staff. If you come with more than 2 people you may have to wait a few minutes as it can be very busy at popular times.

My personal favorite is the Tantanmen soup with tofu instead of beef. Nice little restaurant with nice staff and seating. Parking spaces are difficult to find there

Went for a quick bitte and the food was awesome. Took the Teriyaki Don - awesome taste, food portion was quite less. Nevertheless a must try. Its a small restaurant but quite an atmosphere

The food was undercooked and the meat was half alive which I couldn't eat. The employees were very rude and I waited more than half an hour for the food. Above all, I want to emphasize that unfortunately it smelled very bad there and it was over 25 degrees, which I found simply terrible. I definitely do not recommend it!

The store is - and rightly so - always well stocked. Unfortunately, visually unappealing and not really inviting, the taste buds expect high-quality food. Ramen in various styles - including vegan - is on the menu, as well as starters such as karaage or pickled tofu. Everything is very tasty - so you don't have to drive to Düsseldorf anymore! The service is always very friendly and the open kitchen has a good extractor hood. Unfortunately, you can only pay in cash or with EC, but not credit cards.

The most delicious ramen that’s fresh spicy and fulfilling I’ve had so far in Germany. Nestled in a quiet corner I’ve gone there so many times and always try a new drink (try the yuzu lemonade! It’s fresh and delicious) and a different ramen. I would highly recommend their tan tan Ramen, the sides are also delicious and worth trying especially the karage. Not quite sure about parking there but you can easily reach here by public transport. Easily one of the best in Essen.

Great food that tastes almost authentic. It is currently recommended to make a reservation there before you go. Addendum: Unfortunately, it seems you can no longer make reservations and there are hardly any opportunities for groups of >2 people to eat there without long waiting times.

Extremely tasty food, service was very friendly and quick. The menu is small but nice, the price is absolutely right. It's just that the restaurant is very cramped, and it might be difficult, especially with winter clothes, a stroller or a wheelchair. But if you just want to eat delicious ramen quickly, you will be thrilled!

Es ist klein und eng, aber das ist typisch japanisch. Das tonkotsu ramen war sehr lecker aber es fehlte etwas an bums. War aber kein Problem denn man konnte mit Soja sauce nachwürzen. Die Preise sind würde ich sagen moderat. Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmal ein paar andere ramen probieren kommen :)

Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut. Der Laden an sich ist allerdings sehr eng und klein und hat leider einen Bahnhofsflair. Tischreservierungen werden nicht angenommen. Wir werden trotzdem wiederkommen, da das Essen einfach sehr gut war.

Ramen waren extrem gut. Vergleichbar mit Ramen in Japan. Die Homemade Lemonade waren auch ziemlich gut. Wir waren mehr als überzeugt und kommen gerne wieder

Sehr lecker diese japanischen Nudelsuppen (Rahmen). Und so abwechslungsreich dank verschiedener Zutaten wie Hühner- oder Schweinefleisch, oder Tofu, Gemüse, Eier... Vegan gibt's die auch. Wenn man nach einem Bummel so richtig durchgefroren ist, sind Ramen die Rettung. Suppen machen eben doch glücklich.

È la prima volta che mangiavo il Ramen in vita mia e devo dire che è stato proprio buono!! Direi oltre le aspettative. Ho provato vari tipi di ramen con i miei amici, tutti stupendi. Prezzi giusti, personale cordiale. Consiglio vivamente. Alla prossima!!! Ps: vengo dall’Italia

Ein sehr kleines Ramen- Restaurant mitten in Rüttenscheid. Man sitzt sehr eng beieinander und folglich auch nah am Nebentisch. Das Personal ist freundlich, während der Stoßzeiten geht aber auch mal die Getränkebestellung schief (vergessen oder verspätet). Das Essen ist echt in Ordnung, genau das was man erwartet.

Super freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter in angenehmer Atmosphäre zum Plaudern. Leckere Getränkeauswahl zu super healthy food.👍

Eine sehr tolle freundliche Atmosphäre! Das Essen war sehr lecker! Das zweite beste Ramen wo ich in Deutschland gegessen habe. Die Preise sehr niedrig. Wir haben Chips für Geschenk bekommen. Ich empfehle und wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder!

Klein, voll, eng und wunderbar. Sehr leckeres Essen. Die Vorspeisen sind so lecker und danach die suppen nich viel mehr. Alle Genki-Restaurants sind super. Egal was man bestellt, es schmeckt.

Ausgezeichnete vegane Optionen.

Das Essen schmeckt leider gar nicht und ist nicht frisch! Wir wissen nicht, woher die ganzen positiven Rezensionen herkommen, aber Ramen, Gyoza und Co schmecken eigentlich anders! Die Sojasprossen waren schon dunkel, die Bambussprossen leicht vergoren. Tee darf man ruhig in einer Teekanne servieren (damit man sich nicht verbrüht) und nicht im Glas ohne Henkel an dem der Sud herunterläuft. Speisekarten darf es auch geben und zwar in ausreichender Anzahl. Die Preise in der Karte dürfen dann auch aktuell sein und auf der Rechnung nicht abweichen. Insgesamt hat man eher den Eindruck, man würde in einer Imbissbude sitzen und nicht in einem Restaurant. Japanische Küche ist es jedenfalls nicht. Beim Japaner "kann man vom Boden essen" und es schmeckt dann immer noch alles frisch und ist sauber. Schade für unsere Gruppe.

Ich war kürzlich in der letzten Woche in diesem Laden und obwohl das Essen ausgezeichnet war, war ich frustriert über die Sprachbarriere. Die neue Kellnerin konnte kein Deutsch sprechen, sodass ich alles der älteren Kellnerin wiederholen musste, was zusätzliche Arbeit für das Personal verursachte. Es ist schade, denn das Essen ist fantastisch, und ich hoffe, dass sie dieses sprachliche Problem beheben können, um ein noch angenehmeres kulinarisches Erlebnis zu ermöglichen.

Schönes Restaurant, sehr leckeres Essen. Da die Karte ohnehin nicht so groß ist hätte ich mich über eine richtige Karte gefreut anstatt über einen QR-Code. Wir kommen aber sehr gerne wieder.

Eine Schlange vor einem kleinen asiatischen Restaurant/Imbiss... das will etwas heißen. Und die rund 25 Minuten haben sich gelohnt! Gutes Essen zu einem fairen Preis. Man muss allerdings mit einem recht vollgestopften, kleinen Lokal mit ordentlich Lautstärke klarkommen.

It was good from my side and my boyfriend loved this place in first time already. I have Tan tan Ramen which was little spicy 🌶️ but with lots of flavours. I will definitely recommend this ramen to give a try.

Super leckeres Essen, sehr frisch und der Service war super (auch was Allergie-Beratung angeht). Es ist sehr eng da drin aber das tut dem guten Essen ja keinen Abbruch 🙂 wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir waren das erste Mal im Genki Ramen. Die Location ist nicht groß und war sehr gut besucht als wir dort waren. Wir hatten Glück und haben einen Platz am Fenster gefunden. Der Service war super nett und das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker. Ich habe das erste Mal "Ramen" gegessen und die Variante mit Hähnchen gewählt. Alles super frisch, knackig und geschmackvoll. Eine klare Empfehlung!👍🏻
