Very tasty, good prices and very nice service.

Very good food at a very good price/performance ratio. However, not even card payment is possible. The restaurant is very small, so the service could have been a little quicker.

But solid ramen was also better. Nice staff.

I was there for the first time with my husband. The restaurant was a bit small but we still managed to get a table. The service was nice and the food came quickly. The food was plentiful and tasty. You definitely got full. The restaurant should definitely pay more attention to cleanliness in the toilets. Unfortunately there was black mold on the ceiling in the women's toilet. Which isn't exactly good for your health. I have no idea whether we will come back again.

We had 2 Tonkotsu Ramen today. 1. Garlic 2. Hot This really wasn't a revelation. The noodles are soft spaghetti. The basic soup... well... irrelevant. Some interesting inserts that also tasted like something. But there really wasn't anything spicy at all. No repeat planned.

Drinks were good. Unfortunately not the food. We left half of it because it just didn't taste good. Every time the door is opened you get an ice-cold draft. 🥶 There are better restaurants with this direction. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ordered Genki Ramen and Mapo Men Ramen. My Mapo Ramen was supposed to be spicy, but the soup wasn't spicy at all, but it still tasted good. Had to season the soup with plenty of chili powder

Be careful with vegetarian dishes! We got meat broth. It only became apparent when I ate the fried meat. The replacement dish came with fresh salad instead of fried vegetables (the description on the menu doesn't match) and also without the extra egg that was ordered. The meat had already lost our appetite so much that we didn't eat the portion. We still paid for everything, including the missing egg. Mistakes happen, but we didn't receive an apology or goodwill when paying. And a meat broth instead of a vegetarian one is a hard no go...

Absolutely not recommended for vegans! I first got the wrong dish with meat and meat broth. My first time eating meat in 8 years and there was no insight or apology at all from the restaurant. The “real” dish came then and was obviously made too quickly. The fried vegetables never saw a pan and so I had a miso with raw cold vegetables and that was not addressed either and I was allowed to pay the full price. Absolutely inappropriate behavior

Nice there! Easy setup. But there is very tasty food with good Preusen. Friendly service and a short wait for food.

Solid frame, Gysoa not really my thing. Had reserved a table for 5 but only got one for 4. We were able to help ourselves later. Overall chaotic and small, which can sometimes be charming. Not quite here.

I found the noodles extremely tasty and inexpensive. It looks great inside.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Genki Ramen Restaurant and it was an amazing experience! The broth was simply outstanding – rich and full of flavor, making every slurp a pleasure. The tender meat complemented the soup perfectly and provided a wonderful texture. I was particularly impressed by the service. The staff was extremely trained, attentive and always willing to make recommendations without being pushy. You really feel welcome and well looked after. The ambience of the restaurant is cozy and simple, creating a relaxed atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The opening times are also very practical, so you can enjoy the delicious food later in the evening. All in all, I highly recommend Genki Ramen – a true gem for all noodle soup lovers!

Ok, the space is very small and cramped and can certainly be expanded in all respects, but that's not the reason why you go there. The food is amazing and affordable. Drinks, like in all Asian restaurants and shops, are overpriced. Waiting in front of the location is common there and now, when it gets colder, even the first in line are warmed by heat lamps.

The veggie tofu ramen here, especially with the Shio broth, is great. Reminds me of my university time in Japan.

Long waiting times outside the door. There is hardly any space inside, there is always the risk of throwing each other's food off the table when you put on and take off your jacket. It's easier to sit at the window pane, the people who are placed close behind and lower at tables have the back of their faces... You have to wait a bit for service because it's so busy. They are reasonably friendly and the food comes quite quickly considering the circumstances. However, I'm not really impressed with the food. The soups usually taste like nothing. The rice dish with meat and bean sprouts, on the other hand, was soaked in sauce... Unfortunately it wasn't that tasty. We have been there several times and always had the same experiences. Unfortunately we won't be coming back again.

My wife and I love this place Genki Ramen. My absolute favorite Yasai MISO and my wife Karaage Don were there yesterday and have been my number 1 for years

Ok Ramen. But it is definitely not authentic and far away from Japanese ramen.

Definitely never again. Stomach issues i have for last 3 hours, literally give me no choice but rate with 1star. I'm in so much pain since i ate the ramen that words can't describe it properly. Never, never again.

Lukewarm, not very customer-oriented. I ordered ramen. The broth was tasty, unfortunately only lukewarm, the meat and vegetables probably came straight from the fridge. When I was paying, I expressed my criticism when asked, which was met with a benevolent “It’s okay!” was honored. No recommendation.

Very good ramen, close to the fair. Had to wait quite a lot, since the place is small and doesn't have many tables, but while waiting the waiters gave to all the people in the line some snacks. The food is very good and the place is cozy.

Small, cozy shop with a classic Japanese flair: order, eat and don't chat for long. That's what makes the restaurant special and even when it's full, you don't have to wait long. However, it doesn't create a nice atmosphere like you're probably used to in other restaurants. In my opinion, the miso broth here was even better than at the Takumi chain. The service is super friendly and quick. When visiting the gaming fair, the store is my favorite.

I love Japanese cuisine and, in my opinion, delicious ramen is a fine art and not easy to find in good quality. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was top notch. I'm not talking about the side dishes, which are very similar in every ramen and don't significantly influence the taste, but about the broth, which is the soul of every ramen: so rich and harmonious - one of the best broths I've eaten so far . Big compliments to the kitchen! In order to enjoy such culinary delights, you often have to compromise on the ambience 😉

I think the ramen is super tasty! But the tofu is just as tasteless as any other tofu. But the vegetarian gyozas are surprisingly delicious. Unfortunately the store is very small and crowded. You can't make a reservation either, so sometimes you have to stand outside a little longer.

Delicious food with a dining room atmosphere (there is no other way, as there are few seats and they are close together). Staff very nice and friendly. Basically 3 x 5*, but a deduction for the “comfort factor”. Update 09/2024 Still super tasty 😋 mine is the bid and Genki Ramen. The starters are really tasty too.

We were in the restaurant and unfortunately a bowl broke and we not only got new ramen but were also given chips. But also very nice service, very good food, perfectly cooked eggs, all in one highly recommended!

Each restaurant has its own strengths, specialties and focuses. What you immediately notice is that the team values ​​authentic Japanese food. And even if you think that I have eaten something stronger or more delicious at XYZ in Düsseldorf, you have to honestly admit that there is good, down-to-earth food here. The prices are not quite at the Düsseldorf level yet, but they are well on the way there. It is probably also due to the proximity to Rüttenscheider Strasse. In short, Genki Ramen, the Chashu Don and the Karaage were really good. Arigato to the team. Best regards

I tried Teriyaki miso ramen and it was very good in taste and perfect portion size. Very kind service as well. I hope to try more of what they can offer.

Our absolute favorite restaurant for ramen. The food is super authentic and the service is very nice. We love the original Japanese lemonades with the ball in them.

Food was good, but doesn't come close to traditional ramen. The store is so crowded that you're almost standing on each other's feet. Choice is available.

I found the team on site to be very nice, the furnishings and shop were just like other ramen shops, and the prices were completely reasonable. I just found that the gyozas and ramen were very tasty, but a bit too heavy compared to my favorite shops. But that's purely a matter of taste. You can definitely go.

Super delicious food, especially the Ebi Fry and Tonkotsu Ramen are highly recommended. Noodles could be a little firmer, but that's complaining at the highest level. We were also very impressed by the unusual drinks that are available alongside normal soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Before the lunch break you can usually get a table without queuing or other problems, even on Saturdays. The food is served before you can blink. It's a little more crowded in the afternoon.

Large selection of frames, very tasty! Gyoza also highly recommended. It's best not to arrive too late for lunch during the week, otherwise it can get crowded due to the limited number of seats.

My favorite place in Essen. I come at least once a month. The Genki Ramen with Shoyu broth is definitely my favorite.

First of all: I eat ramen often and am a big fan. I don't understand the good reviews. The ramen was lukewarm, the meat tasted old and unpleasant. Very bad quality. The toilet had no light and you couldn't enter the toilet because of a huge pool of urine. After I made my criticism very friendly when paying, nothing came apart from a 'sorry'. All in all, not a recommendation from me.

Great RAMEN at an affordable price.

Nice personel. Food authentic with potential for improvement. The "lava egg" is soft as wax, but gray on the outside and not visually appetizing. The ramen was delicious, but you have to pay extra for extra vegetables. These inserts are not really found on the very small cards. Prices are okay. Ambiance can be improved, it is a typical fast food restaurant that is very busy (especially after 7 p.m.).

My personal favorite is the Tantanmen soup with tofu instead of beef. Nice little restaurant with nice staff and seating. Parking spaces are difficult to find there

Went for a quick bitte and the food was awesome. Took the Teriyaki Don - awesome taste, food portion was quite less. Nevertheless a must try. Its a small restaurant but quite an atmosphere

The food was undercooked and the meat was half alive which I couldn't eat. The employees were very rude and I waited more than half an hour for the food. Above all, I want to emphasize that unfortunately it smelled very bad there and it was over 25 degrees, which I found simply terrible. I definitely do not recommend it!

The store is - and rightly so - always well stocked. Unfortunately, visually unappealing and not really inviting, the taste buds expect high-quality food. Ramen in various styles - including vegan - is on the menu, as well as starters such as karaage or pickled tofu. Everything is very tasty - so you don't have to drive to Düsseldorf anymore! The service is always very friendly and the open kitchen has a good extractor hood. Unfortunately, you can only pay in cash or with EC, but not credit cards.

The most delicious ramen that’s fresh spicy and fulfilling I’ve had so far in Germany. Nestled in a quiet corner I’ve gone there so many times and always try a new drink (try the yuzu lemonade! It’s fresh and delicious) and a different ramen. I would highly recommend their tan tan Ramen, the sides are also delicious and worth trying especially the karage. Not quite sure about parking there but you can easily reach here by public transport. Easily one of the best in Essen.
