Super nice service, very courteous, customer requests are happily fulfilled, cheerful atmosphere very reasonably priced (waygu beef and water buffalo meat) in the garden only self-service but there is also a veranda with normal restaurant operation

We stopped here during our hike and just wanted a bite to eat – "unfortunately" it was Schnitzel Monday... ;-) Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere, terrace with a view of the Simmelsberg, and delicious schnitzel and cake. Highly recommended!

A traditional mountain hut atmosphere with friendly service. Good value for money. The food is very tasty. Schnitzel day on Mondays with an additional special menu. Also nice vacation apartments in various sizes.

We booked a weekend in the beautifully furnished Simmelsberg holiday apartment, along with a delicious breakfast and an excellent dinner at the Jausenstation restaurant. Perfect and very attentive service (we had a family birthday, and our table was lovingly and beautifully decorated that evening), an absolutely delicious menu with very reasonable prices, and the attention to detail made this restaurant visit a truly memorable experience. Thank you so much! We would love to come back...

Superb, lovely, cozy restaurant...decorated with lots of love, it's the perfect place to relax after a hike. Sitting in the beer garden, you have a fantastic view, and it simply feels like a vacation... Very friendly staff...it was a great way to end our hike!

If you order a salad, it's served in two bowls. One contains the salad and the other the sauce. Only when you're ready to eat the salad is the sauce poured over the salad. Someone has thought this through!!👍 And this is a consistent pattern throughout the entire restaurant. I'll be back.

The food is delicious, the snack crumble is amazing. Also, the service is super friendly and the atmosphere is incredibly cozy. I even found a couple of small souvenirs in the display cases. 100% recommendation.

We visited yesterday with our cycling group for lunch. In short, a great atmosphere and a very well-kept beer garden in a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And everyone loved the food. The chef even knows how to take photos ;-) Many of the group were there for the first time. But everyone left saying: Great place, I'll have to remember this place. I have to go back.

This beautiful restaurant, run by a married couple, is set against a stunning backdrop in the Rhön Mountains in Hesse. While one partner manages the kitchen, the other is responsible for the first-class service. By our third visit, we were treated like regulars. The food, including the vegetarian dishes, is always excellent and reasonably priced. The drinks selection includes, in addition to the usual fare, a homemade, fruity lemonade. In good weather, the beer garden is recommended for its panoramic views, even though the dining room is lovingly furnished and comfortable. Reservations are highly recommended, as the snack bar is no longer an insider tip.

We were on the Gersfeld Extra Tour and then stopped by afterward. The organic ice cream was tempting. ;) Great atmosphere and service. The view, food, and drinks were also top-notch. It felt like we were on vacation!

We came with friends this early afternoon without a reservation and got a table. Very friendly welcome and attentive service. The kitchen was open at that time. Great atmosphere, delicious food. What more could you want?

We happened to be there after a walk in the snow last year; it has a very cozy atmosphere, almost like being in a friend's living room. The service was very friendly, the waiter was really great and always recommended the best things to us. We had burgers, and the cake here is also amazing. I wanted to write this review right away, but I forgot, but it's stuck in my mind so well that I had to write it now 😊

Highly recommended, delicious food, beautiful ambience.

For me personally, this is the most beautiful restaurant in the Rhön region. The menu is small and straightforward, but the quality of the food is outstanding. The service staff is great, and the chef is also sensational. It's a pleasure to stop by and feel welcome.

In summary – arrive and immediately feel comfortable and welcome. We had schnitzel (one recommended with apple cider and hand cheese sauce) with fries or croquettes and a small salad. You could even choose from three dressings for the salad, and the dressing was served in a separate bowl so everyone could measure it to their own taste. The meat was absolutely tender and flavorful. The water buffalo burger, in particular, was divine; I would eat it again anytime. We also found the value for money very reasonable. We received extremely friendly and attentive service. Everything was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. After the meal, we had coffee and a small dessert, and everyone was extremely satisfied. We'd gladly go back!

What a wonderful discovery in Gersfeld-Mosbach! I stumbled upon it by chance! Super friendly service, creative, absolutely delicious food, and everything, of course, (guest)-friendly and with lots of great ideas! Simply a hit!

The staff is super friendly and the view is outstanding. Plenty of umbrellas for shade in the summer, and the food is excellent. The Kaiserschmarrn was perfect!

Reservations aren't required, but they're sometimes advantageous. The food is very good and, thanks to high demand, occasionally runs out. But as an omnivore, the alternatives are also tasty. Friendly service. Unfortunately, we didn't go inside the restaurant due to the good weather.

We visited for the first time today, after a trip to the Red Moor. We didn't have a table reservation, but we were still lucky enough to get a seat. The food, service, and pricing were all 5-star, and the owners are very welcoming and friendly. We'd be happy to come back.

Definitely worth a visit. Very cozy in the summer, a very nice beer garden. Great view. Excellent value for money. I haven't eaten anything yet, but I will. Highly recommended for a circular hike of about 8-10 km around Gersfeld. Please note the opening hours, and reservations are recommended.

Great! Very friendly service, and when the weather's nice, the terrace is lovely. There's also a small playground for the kids. The interior is also stylishly decorated. The food was also very good, but I didn't think the pepper cream sauce was that great... It could have been better 🙂 ... but that's complaining at a high level. As for the beer, I don't quite understand why they don't offer anything regional (Will Bräu, Rhöner Brauerei, etc.). König Pilsener isn't bad, but I personally prefer the regional beer here. That's also a matter of taste, though, and doesn't deserve a star deduction. All in all: recommended 👍🏼😃 You can't go wrong here, and the prices are also very reasonable.

A great place for a short rest on the Gersfeld Extra Tour, with a pretty garden and a beautiful view of the Rhön Mountains from the porch swing. Outside of restaurant opening hours, there's a small hut where you can buy non-alcoholic drinks, including two different non-alcoholic beers—cool! Unfortunately, the restroom is only accessible during restaurant opening hours.

I can't comment on the food because we didn't get anything. We took a 20 km detour and were looking forward to really good burgers. Unfortunately, a group of hikers got there a minute before us. Lt. The service wasn't able to prefer our 2 burgers or eat outside. Too bad. In any case, call ahead and find out if there is still space and capacity in the kitchen.

René and Björn have gradually developed the snack bar into an increasingly comfortable place. The outdoor area has grown, the friendliness and delicious food were great from the start, and they have also lovingly designed the inside. I always enjoy coming there! The holiday apartments are also great for riders, hikers or nature fans. Breakfast is generous and very tasty! I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Like some before us, we from Taunus have finally visited Björn and Rene. We were thrilled to see both of them again and how great this restaurant has become. Everything was right: the food, the location, the outdoor area with a great view, the friendly service and the warmth of both owners. All the best to you both and we'll be back.

Wonderfully warm atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. Sweet play area for the children. The food tasted super delicious. (We had burgers, schnitzel & pork loin). The children thought the snack lemonade was great! I myself cannot tolerate gluten and have never experienced gluten-free prepared schnitzel or gluten-free Kaiserschmarrn in any restaurant. TOP!!! The information for allergy sufferers is also extremely detailed. We'd love to come back!

The entire ambience, be it indoors, outdoors and even the toilet, has a very uniform design and is super clean! Nicely decorated restaurant in beautiful Mosbach in the Hohe Rhön. There's a lot to discover in the showcases. On warm days you can sit outside in one of the many swing benches. The food was also super tasty. The salad was fresh and crunchy! On request, the chef can conjure up vegan dishes in addition to the salads and has fried potatoes and mushroom pans in stock. A visit to the restaurant, rounded off with a scenic walk in Mosbach, is definitely worth the trip!

The furnishings, rooms and everything around are absolutely loving, super clean and very attentive!! Rarely have I had such a lovingly run location and great apartments!!! After eating you can start a perfect hike over Gersfeld and back through the zoo.

We stayed in one of the holiday apartments above the restaurant over the long weekend and decided to go to the restaurant on the first evening. Not only was the food great, but also the service from the owners. This has to be emphasized because they are incredibly friendly and accommodating and there were never long waiting times despite the restaurant being full. Our dogs were also warmly welcomed and one of the owners brought us a bowl of water without asking. When it comes to food, there is a great selection from Wagyu or water buffalo burgers to schnitzels, cordon bleu or vegetarian dishes. Without exception, everyone in our group was thrilled with their selection. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and creates a relaxed atmosphere. We were so impressed by the first visit that we came a second time two days later. We will definitely recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back in the future! 😊

A visit to the Zur Hohen Rhön “Jausenstation” restaurant is an absolute must for connoisseurs! The atmosphere is wonderfully rustic and cozy, just the right thing to feel completely at home. The team is extremely friendly and the boss is super nice - you can feel that hospitality is practiced here. The “Pius” burger was a real taste experience: perfectly prepared with cheese, crispy bacon, egg and the delicious special sauce, with crispy fries – simply a dream! We were also impressed by the side salad with the fantastic dressing. You can tell that attention is paid to quality and freshness here. Another highlight: the restaurant is dog-friendly! Our four-legged friend received a warm welcome, which made the visit even more pleasant. And best of all: the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. We were here on Saturday with 4 adults and 4 children. We were all very enthusiastic, the service was super friendly, and always happy to have fun. They responded to everyone and requests for changes to the dishes were no problem at all. Drinks were served quickly. There were 9 of us there today with three families and three children. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The prices are very good. But I would like to highlight the friendly service. Everything was explained very well, despite the store being full, we were able to order quickly and received drinks quickly. The starter soups were very good. The main courses too. There is a small deduction for the fried potatoes because they were not completely cooked through, the roasting was a little lacking and they were served without onions and were probably fried. In addition, a very good beer menu and Wagyu burgers on the menu. Overall, a really recommendable restaurant. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Die Betreiber Björn und Rene sind super nett, freundlich und einfach spitzen Gastgeber. Wir haben dort zu Abend gegessen und auch gefrühstückt. Ich kann jedem einen Besuch wärmstens empfehlen. Man sitzt besonders schön auf der Terrasse mit einem super tollen Blick.

Ambiance TOP! Service nice! Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great... We were there on a Monday to eat schnitzel and it was really good... This time there were 12 of us and we had made a reservation... The food took a long time... and then it wasn't really hot... I told the waitress, she took the schnitzel away and came back after a minute and said "I'm sorry, we don't have a microwave, I put some warm sauce on it" of course it didn't really help ... The cream sauce is a flour and cream paste with no taste, the pepper cream sauce is the same only with pepper... The loins were dry, the fried potatoes were only in the pan for a short time and were overly salty, the onions in the onion schnitzel were still almost salty raw, etc... Out of 12 people, only 1 person was satisfied with his food, and that was a burger... all the others were dissatisfied because the food wasn't really warm and the sauces weren't good...

Everything was freshly prepared and tasted exactly to our liking. Here you can still get homemade fried potatoes and no uniformity. Our tip: Be sure to try the mustard dressing with your salad. Since the snack station is justifiably very popular, you should definitely make a reservation. Dogs are also welcome. We are already looking forward to our next visit ♥️

We happened to take a break during a bike ride and immediately booked a table for the same evening. The food, burgers and schnitzels, are excellent and the service is not only super friendly but also fun to do. We can only recommend this restaurant but definitely make a reservation. If it weren't so far from our home, about 450 km, it would be our local pub. Keep it up and you will remain successful.

No table or place for old regulars "to the Red Cross". We spontaneously drove to Gersfeld and were unfortunately turned away. Travel time was almost 2 hours. We were recognized.
