Gaststätte Zum Ölberg in Coburg

If you are traveling from the states, DO NOT STOP HERE. We were treated poorly From the get go. From slamming our beers on the table when served to mocking us sarcastically when our order was taken. This was only the beginning . These people should never be allowed to work in the hospitality industry. My mother ( born and raised here) was so kind and wanted to reminisce on the good old days. Chatting with staff and telling them about the times she used to love to come here with her friends and boyfriend ,now my father. An American Army Veteran who was stationed here at the time. Our server, treating everyone else who arrived at the restaurant blatantly different than us, never checked on us, never offered another round…. And when our food came…. Served everyone EXCEPT MY FATHER. His meal never arrived. We assumed good intent the entire time thinking maybe they were messing with us or that maybe it was just taking a little longer than usual .. but it was made very clear. We were not welcome here. If you want to dine where politics obviously come before good food and friendly service… come here.

So price performance is probably unbeatable. Absolutely nice service, attentive and friendly. There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

We went on a short city trip and were very happy with our choice of hotel. The location is great - just 10 minutes walk to the old town. There are many good restaurants in the area, so we didn't even have to move the car during our stay. A big plus point: There is free parking directly at the hotel, which was extremely helpful. The breakfast was also very good. We would particularly like to highlight the friendly and courteous staff - high praise and many thanks! The internet was also excellent throughout the house - strong reception and a fast connection. We plan to visit Coburg again and will definitely stay at this hotel again! A small point of criticism concerns the beds: although they were comfortable and clean, we had specifically booked a room with a double bed. Instead there were two single beds pushed together. Unfortunately, the resulting gap between the mattresses was a bit annoying.

Cozy. Fast and friendly service. We enjoyed the food and drinks very much. Price/performance 👍👍👍

Great food! Was very pleasant and hospitable. We also got food shortly before the kitchen closed :)
