This family-run inn is located in Sebnitz. I like the atmosphere of older inns that remain true to their long tradition and don't have to modernize everything at will. The furnishings are elegant, old and new harmonize with each other. A solid Saxon inn. I have already tried many of the dishes, they were all first class, but my favorite are the roulades which the landlady conjures up by hand (buttery soft) and of course a garlic soup is my must. The approach via the market square and the school is very steep and narrow (if you drive up, give way to those coming from above), but there is the option of taking the gentler route via the long road towards Forellenschänke. So anyone who appreciates Saxon hospitality, cosiness, a beautiful view (Balcony of Sebnitz) and good food is welcome here.

Absolute recommendation! The food is delicious, you don't have to wait long, beautiful view, cozy restaurant and the man of the house has his own style... This was our second time there and it was certainly or hopefully not the last time.

This restaurant is not called the “Balcony of Sebnitz” for nothing! Great view, friendly boss, delicious food. This is how you can end a day of hiking in Saxon Switzerland!

We were received very unfriendly. The restaurant was open but warm food was only available in 15 minutes (hot food from 5 p.m. we were there at 4:45 p.m. (the sound makes the music)! Loveless atmosphere. Everything is very outdated. The journey was adventurous. Very steep, very narrow street We had to go back half the mountain because something was coming from above. Schnitzel and fries without any special features such as salad decorations. Food was enough for us (women). A good eater would have stayed hungry.

A restaurant with good home-style cooking. Salad again served on the main plate. A beautiful view from the terrace. Service very friendly, prices still at the normal low level.

An interesting and cozy place with lots of space and nice service. The view is high above Sebnitz and you can let your gaze wander in peace. My schnitzel was very tender and the meat was pure white. There are many meat dishes and it's best to try them all. 🙂 I really like it and the climb up to the restaurant is a challenge for the car but definitely something if you want to get up there on foot. It's not called "the balcony of Sebnitz" for nothing.

You will be deceived by the beautiful ambience. Because there is no salad plate before 2 p.m. And such a pub is called the Balcony of Sebnitz. Completely unjustified!!! The appearance is more beautiful than it actually is!! An impossible pub completely unsuitable for vegetarians!!!

Nice, well-kept and rustic restaurant with a wonderful view of Sebnitz. The food was excellent, the prices were still moderate. Coschutz beer “Felsenkeller” on tap. It was a bit too cool in the veranda.

Good cuisine according to old traditions at reasonable prices. Pleasant and popular hospitality! Hardly any chance of getting a seat without a reservation. A well run one Family business. We'd love to come back.

The food is good German cuisine, the portions are generous. Service was very good and friendly even though the restaurant was full and the waitress was alone.

I can't understand all the good reviews, if it were possible I wouldn't give a star at all...cold fried potatoes, the breading on the schnitzel was sticky, not crispy...the place was empty at the front, we were sat down in the back with 5 screaming children...the only thing what was good, the super bad food was cheap. no latte macchiato, no decent dessert, just bad ice cream In order to get at least 1 card, I had to explain to him why. It tastes better at every snack bar...

Nice view over Sebnitz but the service was very strange.

Unfriendly, only certain food at the time and when you finished drinking you were almost forced to leave because a party was coming and you were supposed to park wrong. We only had a bit of sausage to eat, but anyone can actually heat it up. Never again

Das Restaurant gehört zum " Stammplatz" lecker Essen ,, netter Service mit nen Plausch. Einfach wohlfühlen und genießen . Nette Kneipe mit sehr schönem Blick über Sebnitz. Essen nach Hausmannskost, schmeckt gut und ist günstig.

Ein wunderbarer Ort zum Verweilen und Essen. Auf der Terrasse hat man einen phantastischen Ausblick über Sebnitz während man das absolut leckere Essen genießt. Geschmacklich fühlt man sich zurückversetzt in die Kindheit. Eine rustikale, gutbürgerliche, authentische Küche, wo noch selbst vorbereitet und gekocht wird. Das schmeckt man, z.B. beim Würzfleisch, den Schnitzeln / Steaks und den Bratkartoffeln. Einfach, lecker und preiswert. Das der Service unfreundlich sein soll, können wir nicht bestätigen. Aber wie es in den Wald rein ruft, so schallt es hinaus. Immer eine Empfehlung wert. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Das Essen war schnell da und das für 5 Personen. Das einzige was nicht so schön war, war die Bedienung. Sehr unfreundlich. Kein Danke, Bitte, keine guten Abend oder auf Wiedersehen.

Das Schnitzel war ok, die Nudeln fürs Kind waren günstig. Leider gab es keine Sauce sondern nur etwas Ketchup darüber verteilt. Achtung: Es lediglich Barzahlung akzeptiert, jegliche Kartenzahlung ist ausgeschlossen. Die Parkplätze sind schräg über die Straße, allerdings nicht sehr viele. Die Aussicht ist sicherlich ganz nett, leider war das Wetter heute nicht danach, um draußen zu sitzen.

Gut bürgerliche Küche. Handwerklich vernünftig gekocht. Frische Zutaten. Sonnenterrasse mit Blick über Sebnitz. Parkplatz direkt vor dem Restaurant. Empfehlenswert. Keine vegetarische oder vegane Gerichte auf der Speisekarte. Vorher anrufen, ob Salatvariationen möglich und vorrätig sind.

War wieder echt spitze hier. Tolles Ambiente, tolle freundliche Bedienung/tolles Team. Alles ging zügig. Das Speisen- Getränkeangebot war einfach spitze. Gerichte mit Spargel, fleischlose Gerichte, Fleischgerichte, riesige Auswahl und total lecker. Wir sind immer wieder gern hier. Probieren lohnt sich.

Sehr gemütliches Lokal mit einem atemberaubenden Blick über Sebnitz. Einzig die Speise- und Getränkekarte könnte mal „modernisiert“ werden, es fehlen vegetarisch/vegane Alternativen und Getränke sind sehr klassisch

Good and not expensive food which tastes great. I'd recommend this restaurant if you want to experience the German kitchen. I had the Wiener art Schitzel, great choice ;)! You can park for free close to the restaurant, be aware the street to get to the restaurant is quite narrow.
