Gaststätte Wallenstein in Fürth

We reserved an extra table for 15 people, then were told they were out of ox. Unfortunately, none of it was homemade, and the sauce tasted like a ready-made mix :(

Terrible food and awful service on Christmas Day! Our half-duck was nothing but skin and bones. The dumplings were barely bigger than a ping-pong ball, and the spices hadn't been removed from the red cabbage, so we kept biting into cloves and allspice. The extra dumplings arrived long after we'd finished eating. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink. The only redeeming feature was the peppered carp, and the male waiter was friendly, but the female waiters were very rude. We skipped dessert and left frustrated. We'll never go there again.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The food was delicious. Large portions and fast service. I'd be happy to go again.

The beer selection is good, and the menu offers plenty of vegetarian options. My last combination with the vegetarian bacon substitute was a bit odd, though – I would have preferred to just have dumplings with gravy and skip the strange substitute altogether. The gravy was just a powder anyway – well, you can only ever get meatless food almost right...

Delicious pizza, superb penne al forno, and a generous portion. We regularly order takeout pizza from here. Unfortunately, one time, a portion of tortellini was very small. Otherwise, everything's fine!! They also have delicious ice cream now!
