The food was very good, a little warmer would have been nice. The room was a bit spartan and the temperature quite low. Some guests didn't take off their jackets. The service was excellent.

We held our company party at the Gasthof Weigel. It's a traditional inn with several rooms, some of them quite large. The atmosphere was rustic and festive, and simply cozy. The food was exceptionally good. You could truly call it fine dining. All the dishes arrived at once, so we could all eat together. We were served by several women. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive.

The menu lists fish dishes as 'meatless', what's wrong with that? ... 'Under-seasoned' to 'completely tasteless' was a common sentiment heard from several people at my table, and I agreed. The server asked, 'Did you enjoy your meal?' ... and then silently left mid-sentence. Two stars for the quaint atmosphere, but we'll never be back.

Weigel's was already there when the motorway was still a canal. That it has survived for almost 100 years is no miracle, but rather the result of hard work at the highest level. From the initial welcome to the warm farewell, we felt exceptionally well cared for, but never patronized. The drinks and food arrived promptly, were generously portioned, and tasted excellent. The Wiener Schnitzel (watch out, joke!) arrives by train from Vienna for €27; the other dishes are less expensive and equally superb. And – there's a breaded schnitzel made from pork without the "Wiener 'fuss'" on the same menu for almost €10 less. What's there to complain about? Nothing. On the contrary, Weigel's offers not only Helles and Edelstoff from the Augustiner brewery, but also wheat beer, Pilsner (!), dark beer (!!), and non-alcoholic beer (!!!). That alone makes the trip from Franconia worthwhile. Fantastic.

Delicious food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere

We celebrated our parents' 65th wedding anniversary at the Gasthof Weigel and were extremely satisfied from the planning stages right through to the actual celebration. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was friendly and exceptionally efficient. All 22 guests received their meals practically simultaneously. A wonderfully successful evening!

We celebrated a family member's 60th birthday there with 17 people. The food was very good, with the menu offering some Franconian delicacies and good home-style cooking. The ambiance is consistently pleasant in an old half-timbered house with exposed beams. The staff was always friendly. Due to a wedding party that also occupied a room in the restaurant that evening, along with several other guests, it took a little longer than usual to order and serve the food. However, our 16! different dishes arrived almost simultaneously, which was perfectly acceptable given the size of the kitchen and the many other dishes that needed to be prepared that evening. We had a pleasant, enjoyable evening and can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.

Excellent restaurant – extremely friendly, attentive, and fast service! The wait for the food was 10-15 minutes. And very tasty/good (I personally would have preferred a classic Franconian lamb's lettuce with pumpkin seed oil, rather than the combination of Parmesan, balsamic cream, tomato, and endive leaves around the salad, plus a salad dressing that didn't quite suit me, which was the same as the side salad). Excellent carp. My partner had a shoulder of pork with dumplings and salad, and he also had a delicious (a bit too small) pumpkin soup beforehand...very tasty, would go back! THANKS to the friendly waitresses!

The food was great, and so was the service. The restaurant is actually very pleasant, but a visit to the restroom prompted me to give it only 3 stars. The restroom only deserves one, if anything. Improvements should be made here to avoid detracting from the overall impression.

We went to dinner yesterday with a group of eight people. It's a wonderful, cozy restaurant. It has a certain charm. The food is highly recommended. I really wanted to try Franconian cuisine and opted for the Schäufele (shoulder of pork). I didn't regret the decision. The meat was tender and the crust crispy. The salad truly lived up to its name.

A very nice Franconian inn. A nice, friendly, and young team! The carp was unfortunately very lightly seasoned, or almost unseasoned, for our taste. The cordon bleu and venison ragout were delicious. The apple fritters look so perfect (in every picture here), I question whether they're homemade—but they do taste good. The pumpkin soup was delicious!

A very nice restaurant, especially for families. Children are warmly welcomed there. This is evident from the fact that they are immediately given painting supplies and there is a very nice children's playground. The food was also very good, and the portions were generous. Have been there several times. Today I ate a cordon bleu. Wrong choice today. The craftsman forgot the screw when making the seasoning. I was also charged for the salad that I didn't order, even though I pointed it out to the waitress.

Picture book inn. My mom once worked there in the 1950s. Visited again for a long time after changing tenants several times. Great ambience inside. Rustic and modern. Garden a bit noisy due to the nearby A73, but you quickly get used to the level. Very good cuisine. Just Franconian. No gourmet frills. Vegetarian rather clear. Augustinian Hell. And attentive and friendly service. We will definitely support you with repeat visits.

Oh God, the sauerbraten... that was the best sauerbraten of my life. Delicious The venison ragout was an absolute dream, tender as butter and such a fine sauce. I've never eaten game so well, really strong

Bin hier regelmäßig jeden Monat zum Mittagessen, habe schon viele verschiedenen Gerichte ausprobiert. Jedes Mal ist das Essen super lecker, frisch und immer schnell am Tisch. Die sehr freundliche Bedienung ist aufmerksam und erkundigt sich regelmäßig, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Ich komme immer gerne wieder und empfehle das Restaurant - besonders das Schäufele mit kleinem Beilagensalat - uneingeschränkt weiter.

German / Franconian cuisine. Slightly higher price category. The service was brisk. The food was served quite quickly. The salad dressing from the side salad was definitely a ready-made dressing. Declaration of additives in the card was not apparent. Unfortunately, this was met with my wife having a stomach ache due to an intolerance.

We had sauerbraten, roast pork, Wiener schnitzel and boiled beef... everything was very tasty, good portions - the price-performance ratio was right!

I ate carp in beer batter. It was excellent, the fins were nice and crispy and there was a good side salad with potato salad on the side. Always happy, I can only recommend it! The Franconian bratwursts with potato salad are also recommended

Very nice restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn't like the potato salad with the carp at all. For my taste, this one wasn't homemade. The potato/celery puree was also tasteless. Given the high prices, you can expect more.

To be honest, you don't expect to find such a nice inn "at the end of the street in the village". Inside, everything is quaint, but not old-fashioned. The beer garden is beautifully green and full of trees (unfortunately you can hear the Frankenschnellweg). The staff is very friendly and we were served quickly even without a (recommended) reservation on Saturday lunchtime. We enjoyed our food excellently. Priced upper middle class, but definitely justified. We have to go there again.

Good food but nothing gluten free. The dishes on the menu were very tasty. We didn't find any gluten-free alternatives, and we also apologetically denied making fries in a pan. The food we brought with us was warmed up without any problems and served on a plate. Also positive is the large playground in the garden under the trees, larger than some public ones and shaded. Dogs are allowed.

We went there for dinner after our godchild's wedding. Not much has changed in terms of construction and furnishings in the last 40 years. The service was very attentive, there was water at the table and the menu was well put together with a selection of starters, main courses and desserts. I had soup, salad, Schäuferla and apple cake. Great taste and very decent portions. My wife had fresh chanterelles in cream sauce to put in! Everyone was very satisfied. We can highly recommend this location, we would be happy to come back. 🤗

The inn offers a good Franconian menu and the meals are not exceptional but tasty - definitely a restaurant you can go to again and again. The service is very nice and attentive. Reservations are actually recommended as there is a lot going on.

I was there for the first time. From the outside it looks very inconspicuous and small. But when you enter, a huge restoration opens up. I had the impression that I was in Harry Potter, where the bag is opened, a small tent comes out and then, instead of a cramped interior with just enough space for a few sleeping pads, the tent entrance leads into a real one thanks to a magical enlargement Apartment. That was really awesome. Very tastefully rustic and a very nice beer garden. Staff very friendly and the food excellent.

Prices absolutely overpriced for this service! The Schäufele was good, but not special. The schnitzel 0815...2 drinks, with tip about €60. I'm happy to spend more money, but the performance has to be good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the beer garden was unkempt and the plastic flowers everywhere, impossible. Not for us anymore!

Today was another great evening with delicious food

We celebrated confirmation there. Everything was great. Preliminary meeting, email correspondence, food, service... There is nothing to complain about at any point. The winter garden was beautifully decorated, there was always a waitress available, the food (we had a selection of different dishes from the main menu) was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall price! We'd love to come back!

We celebrated confirmation in a small group. There were a few little things that could be changed - such as when you ask not to offer spirits in the preliminary conversation and it is then offered. A er Okay, we're all just human ;). The food was very, very tasty and would be happy again.

Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant! Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr großzügig gestaltet, und im Allgemeinen ist durch verschiedene Räume mehr als genug Platz für eine Vielzahl an Gästen. Das Essen war wirklich hervorragend, egal ob es das fränkische Schäuferle oder das Cordon bleu war . alles hat wirklich super und frisch zubereitet geschmeckt. Abgerundet wurde das Ganze durch einen sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service. Es kam nie zu langen Wartezeiten und man saß zudem auch zu keinem Zeitpunkt vor leeren Gläsern. Ich empfehle das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiter und komme auch gerne selbst wieder.

A highly recommended restaurant! The rooms are very spacious and there is generally more than enough space for a large number of guests thanks to the various rooms. The food was really excellent, whether it was the Franconian Schäuferle or the cordon bleu. Everything tasted really great and freshly prepared. The whole thing was rounded off by a very attentive and friendly service. There were never long waiting times and you never sat in front of empty glasses. I definitely recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back myself.

Normally we always ate very well, only this time it wasn't 100%, the potato salad was "subterranean" and much too vinegar-heavy. Something went wrong when ordering, but it was corrected. But I would question the price/performance ratio.
