Super friendly service, fast, tasty and good price

So, we were just about to get something to eat here and were immediately turned away with the words, "We don't have room for two people," there were still tables available and they were really sloppy, too. We'll be giving this place a wide berth for the foreseeable future...

Pale fries, small portion... not much sauce, sorry. Minced steak with cheese, unfortunately, cheese was needed...

We were in Bochum for Starlight Express, and the hotel reception recommended the Sorbas restaurant. The restaurant was packed, both inside and out. I'm not usually a fan of Greek restaurants in Germany, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We would definitely eat there again.

We were on our way to the musical and were running very late. But thanks to the very friendly waiter, the food arrived super quickly (even though the restaurant was full), and we were able to arrange everything in time. Thank you again! We enjoyed the food, and the service was excellent!

Very tasty food and great ambience

We were running late because we wanted to go to a nearby musical. The restaurant was very busy, and a super-nice young man made sure our food arrived within 15 minutes. It was delicious, and we were happy. Thank you :-)

We've never had such a bad meal. The service was catastrophic: long waits, the wrong order was served, the cashier rounded up the prices, saying it would be easier with just a calculator, and there was no receipt. A 0-star rating is unfortunately not possible. I do not recommend it!!!!!

Unfortunately the food is just mediocre. They just don't have a good cook. It's all a bit loveless. It's nice to sit in the sun in the evening, but the "beer garden" is right on the street. You can do it, you don't have to.

Unfortunately the food was not what we are used to in a Greek restaurant. My "pan dish" gyros in Metaxa sauce with cheese gratin was lukewarm and definitely not a pan dish with a handful of fries. My husband had a turkey pan with Metaxa sauce, also lukewarm with a handful of fries. No other drinks were asked. It seems like quantity is better than quality, guests who were there to see the musical won't be seen again anyway. If I'm in Bochum again I won't go there anymore. The portions weren't worth the money.

Stopped in spontaneously before the “roller skating event”. The food was very, very tasty 🤩 The cheese and tzatziki surpassed all of our Greek specialties that we have eaten so far 😍 The service was friendly and quick, despite the restaurant being full.

We were prepared for the fact that many people would eat there before the musical and booked a table. It was very busy and the staff was not organized except for a waiter and the gentleman who poured the drinks. Tables were not cleared and many guests went straight to the cash register to pay because they had been forgotten. We were forgotten about our food and after 45 minutes we were asked what we had ordered. The price-performance ratio wasn't right. Dishes were lukewarm, small, tzatziki and Metaxa sauce were not tasty and the fries had no salt. But the price is quite high. There is still a lot that can be improved.

If you want to eat here, you should bring plenty of time. Large restaurant with many tables outside. Actually quite nice. But unfortunately the staff was completely overwhelmed and didn't have an overview. After a show of hands we were told twice that I would be there soon (two different service staff). After 45 minutes I went into the restaurant to place our order. In fact, a waiter managed to take our drink order after 48 minutes. After that, the wait for food was completely acceptable. Food was good. Portion not so overloaded. Hence 3 stars. Otherwise yours will be less.

To fortify ourselves before going to a musical, we wanted to eat something at Sarbas. The service was super friendly. The food was super tasty. We didn't have to wait forever either. The portions are more than sufficient. Simply great. We'll come back when we're nearby.

It was great that we got space for 4 people without a reservation. Pleasant atmosphere. Service came immediately. Drinks and food were served quickly. Everyone enjoyed it because the food wasn't overly seasoned.

We had dinner there today, we were disappointed, we know it was a welcome quzo, there was nothing after that. The food wasn't that special either. One lady just collected the money and there wasn't even a bill. We should be in Bochum again, not this Greek guy.

Unfortunately, since there is no longer a restaurant in the H+ Hotel, we had to avoid it. At the reception we were recommended this Greek guy. We were quite early and didn't need to reserve a table. But we were only allowed to sit outside! at a table for two. We ate gyros with fries and gyros, bifteki and fries. The fries were no longer warm when they arrived. The meat went like this. The service left a lot to be desired. Since there are now more guests coming, as there is no longer a restaurant in the H+ Hotel, they don't seem to make any effort to serve their guests well. You don't have to hope for an ouzo on the house when you pay the bill, which is what you usually get from other good Greek restaurants. Next time we will reserve a table at the Italian restaurant in good time.

The taste of the food was ok but unfortunately only lukewarm. (French fries and gyros) The service was terrible. The tables and chairs outside were unkempt and dirty. Unfortunately, no other restaurant had free space near the musical. I cannot recommend this restaurant. I didn't feel like a guest but rather like a disruptive customer. Very unfortunate.

The service was great. Very attentive and nice but unfortunately the food was a disaster. The gyro was super thick and dry. The fries were not salted and the portions were very small. 2 out of 3 orders also arrived incorrectly.

An excellent Greek restaurant with a wide choice of starters and main courses. The food is of excellent quality. When it's busy it can be a bit chaotic, but the service is friendly.

We have been here several times while passing through and have always been completely satisfied. Although the restaurant was always very busy, probably due to its proximity to the Starlight Hall, and most guests didn't necessarily have a lot of time with them, the staff was always friendly and attentive. The food also fully met our expectations. Given this background, the fact that one or two walls could use a new coat of paint was of no importance to us. Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

Had a quick meal before going to the musical and was grateful that it was already open. Unfortunately my bifteki was dry and the Aivar sauce wasn't to my liking at all. The man's croquettes were forgotten, but they were brought when asked. We know the friendliness of the Greek next door differently...

It took far too long even though it wasn't full, we waited for almost 2 hours and were deducted. I can make the food at home in 10 minutes. Animals like ladybugs were on the table and on the body. That wasn't very nice, considering that the food wasn't even good, it was really expensive

Too bad! Absolutely not recommended! We were looking forward to Greek hospitality and conviviality and experienced great unfriendliness and lack of interest in us as guests! Not only did we have to wait a really long time for our food, we were treated condescendingly. Not that we depend on or needed the usual final ouzo, but not offering this drink shows a complete lack of interest in our regular visit.

I was there on a Friday evening at 6 p.m. and wanted to eat before the concert at 8 p.m. The store was of course very full because others also had this idea. After remembering dinner at 7pm and there was still nothing on the table at 7.30pm, I left. I can't say anything about the food itself as I didn't get anything. Gyros with fries and tzatziki is probably an absolute overkill for a Greek restaurant. I can't say anything about the service either. Because there would be none. I'll never go there again. That was more than nothing.

Underground. We waited 90 minutes for the food and let us know early on that we had a concert date afterwards. Then had to leave without food. The restaurant was full and the kitchen and staff were obviously completely overwhelmed. That was definitely our first and last visit.

Called at short notice and got a seat without any problems even though the restaurant was very busy. Nice, courteous service, always with a quick saying on their lips. At the end the boss gave us an ouzo. I highly recommend this Greek restaurant.

Can't recommend it, we were there with five people, croquettes cold, one still frozen, meat tasteless tzatziki from a can. The worst Greek we've ever been to. PS Ouzo doesn't have it either. There is a sausage stall next door that I can recommend 😁

Like so many people, we were in Bochum because of Starlight Express. The restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel reception and a table was reserved. Whatever was necessary, the restaurant was full. The food was very tasty and the service was nice. We would definitely eat there again.

There are better restaurants in Bochum

I was there with my mother (she is in a wheelchair). Actually, I just wanted to look from the outside to see if she could even get in there and if there was anything free there. A young man came straight away and asked if we needed help. Since there were 2 steps at the entrance, I was happy to accept the help. The food was super tasty. For dessert we shared a tiramisu and it came straight away with 2 spoons. When we went out, the friendly gentleman was already waiting for us and immediately got involved again. Absolute recommendation We were there after a Starlight Express performance.

It was our first and last time there. It was completely overpriced. The food was tasty, but the portions were way too small and the sauce wasn't enough. At just before 8:00, the tiramisu was sold out. We'd been looking forward to it all day. The service was friendly, but we hadn't even finished the appetizer before the main course arrived. By the end of the day, at 8:15 p.m., we were made to feel like we should leave.

It took ages (50 minutes) for the food to be ready, the fries weren't seasoned, the napkin was already used, and the toilet was dirty!

The food was okay. Service leaves a lot to be desired - waiting time was about 45 minutes, the salad only came with the main course. Official receipt only upon request.

I ate there during a trip and was looked after in a very friendly and courteous manner.

Food was very tasty. Ambience was a bit noisy, but it was also very busy. Service you can't complain about, very friendly and accommodating. The four of us paid €105.

It was really very delicious. Good portion size and nice staff. Also nice Mediterranean decor. Great visit, highly recommended. If we come to Bochum again at some point, we will eat here again. :)

Like so many people, we ate at the Zorbas restaurant before seeing the musical and were a bit skeptical due to the mediocre reviews. Even though a Bochum home football game had ended right before our visit and the restaurant was completely full, the three of us provided excellent service. The food was really exceptionally tasty - I don't know if I've ever eaten so much delicious meat in a Greek restaurant - we had a mixed meat platter and every type of meat was cooked perfectly. No dry gyros, chicken, the beef "grilled to perfection". Thank you for this great restaurant visit 🙏.

The food is really good. Went there with 8 people and everyone enjoyed it. The food also came relatively quickly. I had ordered rice with my meal but unfortunately fries were brought. And because we were in a bit of a hurry, I ate them. Were ok too. But you won't really get full. Had gyros gratinated, which was very good.

Unfortunately we waited over 60 minutes with four children for the almost cold food! We made reservations a few days in advance - we're still sitting here and the kids are still waiting!! The lukewarm food was ok.

We were there spontaneously before going to the musical. We had a table near the door. Despite the "double door" there was a very unpleasant draft every time the door opened. We got the wrong drinks, but I couldn't tell because the waitress left so quickly. The side salad was also forgotten... And to top it off, after less than an hour we were asked to pay because we needed the table. Overall, not a cozy atmosphere. The taste was okay. And the food came quickly too. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is very poor.

I felt comfortable very quickly when I walked in. We were under some time pressure and had informed the waitress of this. The restaurant was very busy and yet we only had to wait 15-20 minutes! If I could give 0* I would. Very bad service, the order wasn't even taken after half an hour (yes, I contacted them several times). The wrong dishes were served and then there was a lot of trouble. We're really not to blame for this. When the glasses were empty, we weren't even asked if we wanted something more to drink (I saved myself having to point it out). The food itself (gyros and souvlaki) was totally dry. Even the specially ordered tzatziki couldn't improve it. Anyone who gives more than one star for the restaurant including service and food has no idea about cuisine.

We were there for the first time. The starters and main courses were very tasty. Side salad was served. Large selection of food and drinks to suit every taste. We were warmly greeted and served. We also sat well. However, we found the prices to be too high considering the value for money. For example, not much sauce and meat for the price, no tzatziki, etc. We weren't asked whether we would like to order any with it or whether we needed ketchup/mayo. There was no schnapps “on the house” or anything else that we often know. The service was mediocre even though the restaurant was only moderately busy. For at least 25 minutes, with empty glasses, no one asked if we would like to drink anything else, even though our plates and the next table had been cleared in the meantime. Otherwise everyone was friendly, but not attentive. The ambience can also be considered mediocre. No quiet background music, little flair, bright lighting, etc. Of course it is our personal opinion and a snapshot. We could also have contacted you about reordering drinks or sauces. However, based on our many years of experience, we expect a different standard in restaurants than in snack bars. In summary, we won't be coming back for now.

It should be a cozy evening. With a lot of appetite we went to the restaurant, which had previously only been rated 3.7 points. How could my Greek specialists possibly go wrong? In my opinion - 3.7 is definitely justified. Cool atmosphere, a few Greek statues, no music, no cloakroom. The food was too dry for me, you had to look for the dollop of tzatziki on the plate as well as the typical garlic bread on the menu. The food that was brought didn't correspond to what was ordered - obviously you didn't listen properly. Instead of a small drink, a large one was brought, and instead of rice, fries were brought. I wouldn't recommend visiting this restaurant - it's enough to fill you up, but to experience Greek flair and happiness - it's better to keep looking and then go to the "city center". ... by the way: it wasn't cheap either :(

We ate at Zorbas today with 6 people and can't understand a 3.7 star rating!!! The food was very, very tasty and the portion was also sufficient! The service was also very good, we were always asked about drinks and whether everything was OK! We were there with the voucher book and even after we mentioned this, we continued to receive excellent service/care. If you don't leave 5 stars here, you apparently can't do it right! We'll definitely be back 😋👍😉 A big compliment to the service and the kitchen! See you next time

We were at Zorbas before our away game. [Just a few meters away from the guest corner] It certainly can't be compared with normal operations due to the crowds. Nevertheless, the team kept a cool head and at some point everyone in the full restaurant had their food and beer. So everything is mastered! 😁 At the next game, a visit here is mandatory again, like in all previous years. ✌️

Today we used the gourmet book and ate at Sorbas for the first time… My expectations weren't really high because of the voucher, as I often had the experience that the dishes were smaller and different... But, not at Zorbas, the portion was large and the food was super tasty. The price-performance ratio was also good because we were able to compare the prices on the menu… We would be happy to come back even without a voucher.

We have 18 people registered for today. And when we got there at the agreed time, the shop was closed. Nobody answered the phone either. Something like that is impossible!!!!

We reserved a table for 18 people and were really looking forward to it... and we were rudely assured of a table, but the restaurant was closed when we got there... We tried to call them several times and wrote an email , no reaction at all... we haven't experienced such impudence in a long time... Absolutely not recommended even if the food was good... You should perhaps rethink your concept again...and not make a reservation right away if you can't stick to it. As a little tip... just let me know next time that you don't feel like working. A culinary highlight in Bochum! The *Restaurant Sorbas* is a true gem in Bochum! Greek cuisine is served here at the highest level - fresh, aromatic and authentic. The *Meze platters*, the *Souvlaki* and the *Moussaka* are particularly recommended. The fish dishes are also excellent! The ambience is cozy and inviting, with a nice touch of Greek flair. The *service* is friendly, professional and makes you feel comfortable straight away. Whether for a romantic dinner or a meeting with friends – Zorbas always offers a great experience. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to everyone! Conclusion: One of the best Sorbas restaurants in Bochum.

We had Zorba's meal and then went to a Startlight Express performance full and satisfied (only a 5 minute walk!). We were very satisfied in all respects. The waiter was friendly, relaxed and in a good mood, drinks and food were delivered within a reasonable time and were all very tasty. We were there with 6 adults and 5 children, although our children naturally expressed a few extra requests when ordering. These were taken into account completely correctly. The total bill was divided into three partial bills before our eyes using a calculator. There was no printed bill and no ouzo, but that's not relevant to me. So: A clear recommendation from me!

We stopped there before the football game. The food was brought quickly, although the value for money is questionable. For example, two souflaki skewers with 3 small pieces of onion, a dollop of tzatziki and fries for 16 euros or the portion of tzatziki with 4 small pieces of flatbread for 5 euros are overpriced in my opinion. Especially since the whole atmosphere is more like that of a snack bar. It was okay for our purpose, but otherwise I wouldn't go there again. There are better Greek restaurants where you can also get an ouzo or espresso with the bill. By the way, we didn't see any of that either...

Daughter next door at a concert. Me and my wife stayed there and waited. Location could be made nicer, but you won't get tired of it. Very nice service, food very tasty. We can recommend it.
