Wonderful place with a beautiful view of Wernigerode. The service was top-notch.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience today. Sitting on the terrace wasn't a requirement, so the first employee told us it was self-service only. (Which wouldn't have been a problem; we would have gotten the ice cream and drinks ourselves.) After two minutes, the next employee came over. He already looked unhappy and told us again that sitting outside wasn't a requirement. I then told him - we just heard that - we wanted to wait for my mother-in-law and... and I wasn't allowed to finish. He said it was private property and we should leave. Very rude; I was truly shocked at how they treat their guests there. We always enjoyed sitting on the terrace, but now we probably won't be going there again.

We weren't served, despite friendly hand gestures and later verbal greetings. So we left after 15 minutes.

After visiting Wernigerode Castle, we decided to have a little refreshment on the terrace of the "Schlossterrasse" restaurant. We were there on an early autumn day, at coffee time. We were able to enjoy an indescribably beautiful view and let the sun shine on our faces. Our waitress was very, very, very friendly. She immediately greeted our granddaughter as "Princess 👸". She was very attentive, smiled, and always had a kind word to say. (Where can you get that these days?) We ordered ice cream, drinks, and a small appetizer. This, too, was more than lovingly prepared and incredibly delicious. We'll be back here soon (even without visiting the castle) because you simply feel at home. You get the feeling that you're in the right place at the right time for a break. Thank you for that🙏. If there were 6 stars, you would definitely deserve them.

We were just turned away very rudely. We just wanted to have a beer on the terrace. The staff didn't even look at us.

The lady served us very friendly and good service. The apple strudel with ice cream was truly delicious, and the atmosphere on the terrace was lovely. Prices are fairly high.

We've been here several times and have only positive things to say. The food, as well as the cakes and tarts, are absolutely delicious. The service is fast, very friendly, and accommodating. The castle terraces are worth a visit, and not just for the amazing view. We always enjoy coming back.

Beautiful!!! The view is wonderful, and the coffee and cake in the atmosphere are simply fantastic. But the best part is when you can have a good conversation with the waiters and are occasionally infected with their wit and good humor. A rarity these days.

If you're looking for a culinary "highlight" of a special kind—namely, the worst meal of the year—then you've come to the right place. The only acceptable thing was the service, although it seemed only the head waiter spoke German. At least you could describe your misery to him before bravely choking it down. My dish: cauliflower with boiled potatoes and hollandaise. Sounds harmless, but turned out to be the saddest vegetable opera since cafeterias were invented. The cauliflower: tasteless as a wet washcloth. The potatoes: cold as the chef's heart. The hollandaise: clearly from a bag—and not even a good bag. The highlight: two slices of cheese that seemed to only greet the oven from afar. "Baked" is what they call it here, ironically. But that wasn't enough: I had to complain about my meal three times before it was at least served lukewarm. Apparently, operating a microwave in this kitchen is a task for advanced users. My mother's salad baguette was graciously refilled after 30 minutes. Fresh? Rather spontaneously thrown together. Still damp in the middle, slashed with a blunt knife, and squashed like a wrestling match. Compensation? None. The apology was as half-hearted as the meal itself, and of course, we still had to pay full price. Coffee? There wasn't any either – perhaps the machine was just as overwhelmed as the kitchen. Prices, however, are in the gourmet league: omelet €17.90, aspic almost as expensive. An absolute mockery for this quality. Verdict: 1 star, because you can't give less. The only nice thing: the view from Wernigerode Castle – but thankfully, the kitchen didn't make that.

Perfect weather with a fantastic view over Wernigerode. Fast, friendly service and good food.

A fantastic place to eat. After the climb to the castle, you definitely deserve it. The service is excellent. If you want to be on the safe side, make a reservation. The food is simple but delicious, and despite the busy place, it came very quickly. We'd gladly return.

The café and the view were truly beautiful and lovingly designed. The cakes were incredibly delicious, and the staff were super friendly and attentive! We also tried a non-alcoholic Schierkuja Spritz, which was truly amazing thanks to the glitter and also tasted amazing. Only the restrooms are in desperate need of some love. The men's restroom had loose toilet lids, and the changing facilities in the women's restroom needed a redesign. Overall, the restrooms are simply outdated, and above all, they have more of an old-fashioned motorway service station feel than appropriate for such a lovely place.

We were particularly impressed by the friendly and authentic waitress Gina – attentive, warm, and exactly the kind of service you'd expect as a guest. The "clearers" also deserve high praise: always diligent, attentive, and with a smile, which significantly enhances the overall impression. Unfortunately, the experience was somewhat marred by the waiter Mirko, who struck us and other guests as passive-aggressive and unfriendly. His tone was neither inviting nor professional, which is a shame – especially in such a lovely café with otherwise dedicated staff.

We highly recommend this restaurant. The view is beautiful. If you're sitting well, you can see the castle and the city. The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures. We had solyanka, pea soup, a vegetarian omelet, and noodles. The service was very friendly and kept asking if everything was okay. The restrooms were clean. We highly recommend it.

The food tasted okay, but nothing more. We've had much better and cheaper food elsewhere...the portions were also much larger there! The service was overwhelmed with four people, food, and drinks...they came over twice to ask if he'd taken everything correctly.

We've been here twice, and it's been so lovely every time! The terrace is gorgeous, the portions are huge, and the service is always very attentive. They're even super nice to our dachshund.

They served us a strudel without cinnamon or mint—it wasn't tasty. The waitress said the German recipe doesn't call for cinnamon.

The waiter didn't offer us food because 1 hour and 10 minutes wasn't enough time. The table was reserved for 3 p.m. The guests at the neighboring table received their food after 20 minutes.

The view from this restaurant is breathtaking, and the staff is polite and, above all, very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Service is not good. Unfortunately, the service staff were unprofessional.

Beautiful view, but very poor service. The food wasn't as tasty as expected, and the pork steak was tough and hard. In general, the food seemed rather commercial and unexceptional. The staff were rude, and the female employee initially treated us roughly before later apologizing. The tattooed waiter was particularly unfriendly and almost wanted to throw us out. Overall, a very disappointing experience—I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Kiwi ice cream sundae for 9.90 euros is way too expensive. Apparently 3 scoops of ice cream. Unfortunately I couldn't find that out.

Nicely located, service was quick and reasonably friendly. The solyanka and the children's fries were fine. The cake is more of a grade 4. Just under €8 for the children's fries - WITHOUT ketchup or mayo are perhaps still acceptable. But the fact that each mini sachet of ketchup costs €1 is a real extortion. By the way, the same bag costs 20 cents at the Hexentanzplatz. So please check the price calculation here.

Brunch on Good Friday, too expensive because we paid extra for the coffee. Lunch could be more varied. Otherwise you sit very well there.

We were here in March. After a wonderful walk through the castle and park, I wanted to eat. Found this great little restaurant where we were served fairly quickly. The food was delicious, we ordered meat, the child ate schnitzel. A fairly normal price-quality ratio. Portions are not very big, but we had enough. The waitress was very friendly, and the cook came over and asked if everything was to your liking. The attention of the staff is an additional plus.

We spontaneously dropped by for lunch with six people on the weekend, and the friendly staff freed up a table for us among all the other reservations. The ambiance is beautiful, especially if you get a seat on the glass-enclosed veranda. The food was freshly prepared and incredibly delicious. We'll definitely be back, highly recommended!
