Very good, best German food in Dresden

All in all, very good. Unfortunately, the schnitzel didn't come with any sauce as standard. This made the dish a bit dry overall – I'm not sure why it was served with just potatoes and carrots. Otherwise, the taste was good. The portions were also very large.

Wonderfully delicious...eating like mom used to make. There's nothing to complain about with the food; they still cook according to tradition (and learned it from grandma). We would have liked another beer, but the waiters were just too busy. I found the prices a bit steep, but the portions were filling enough, so the price was absolutely justified. If you like really delicious, good German food...you can still get it here!

Today, after a few years, I'm writing an updated review. I don't want to waste too much time on the food today, as the quality and taste have remained consistently excellent over the years. It tastes like Grandma's, the portions are just like Grandma's, and who knows, maybe Grandma's cooking here. My special thanks and praise today go to the staff. Always very attentive and friendly, and always with a funny and quick quip (especially Dennis deserves special mention here). All of you make guests feel welcome in an exceptionally comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant business is certainly not an easy job, and in the over 30 years you've been in business, you've certainly experienced a lot. It's all the more wonderful that you live a consistent lifestyle and remain true to your concept. You're doing everything you do exactly right. I hope to be able to come by for your roast beef often to enjoy your warmth. ❤️Thank you for everything!❤️

A friend recommended this restaurant to me, and it has now become my new favorite restaurant in Dresden. The server was courteous and friendly. The restaurant was lovingly decorated and cozy. The prices were reasonable, and the food was excellent. Both the main course and the slice of cake afterward were excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Very nice interior, as if time had stood still. Only the modern cash register system doesn't fit. :-) The food was also very tasty, and the service was pleasantly attentive. Card payments (including Visa) were generally no problem and welcome, but payments with virtual cards like Google Pay aren't possible. The card must be inserted. The terminal would probably support it, but displays the error message "please use chip." Apparently, it was deliberately configured to prevent contactless payments. A shame.

Everything is perfect: the name, the menu, the decor, the food... Absolutely beautiful! And above all, delicious!!! Thank you for the brief escape from everyday life and the immersion in wonderful memories of my childhood! It's wonderful that places like yours exist! 🫶🏻 We wish you always a full restaurant, with many friendly and appreciative guests. It's great that even Pittiplatsch is there! 🤗The only downside is the parking situation. It's a bit complicated, especially for tourists. (There's a Lidl with a large parking lot 100 meters away) - (we shamelessly used it...) Thank you for the good and friendly service and, of course, the excellent food.

It delivers what it promises. German cuisine, just like grandma used to make. One drawback: the toilet is upstairs. Wheelchair users should use the restroom beforehand. It's available at the nearby ARAL gas station on the B6.

A cozy atmosphere like at Grandma's The Gaststätte Oma (Grandma's Restaurant) is an extremely cozy restaurant where you immediately feel at home, almost like at Grandma's house. The food and drinks were exceptionally delicious, and they offer both small and large portions, so there's something for every appetite. Without a reservation, you won't be able to get anything done here during rush hour – and there's a reason for that... Solyanka for starters, a hearty roasted pork for the main course, and Quarkkeulchen (curd dumplings) with apple sauce for dessert. Everything was delicious, no complaints, great service! Absolutely recommended for anyone who enjoys good, home-style cooking.

The Oma restaurant has a rustic decor, a bit dark, but nothing dramatic. There's also outdoor seating, and reservations are recommended. The menu features many great classic dishes, and all the dishes I saw (at neighboring tables) looked truly inviting and delicious. The goulash with macaroni was okay... nothing more, nothing less; it's a matter of taste. The service was friendly and quick... as were the drinks and food.

In my opinion, the best restaurant in all of DD! The staff is always friendly, no matter how busy it is or what special requests you make! The food tastes amazing and the prices are fair! We eat here between 4-5 times a year and have never been disappointed! Absolutely the place to be if you want to eat in DD!

Nice location, but the food is just decent, nothing more. The fried potatoes and schnitzel could be crispier and more seasoned; we're used to much better dishes at Spitzwegerich and Landstreicher. The waiters' attire could definitely be more professional!
