Gaststätte Futterkiste in Gersfeld (Rhön)

Fifty years ago, the building wasn't even there yet—a gravel lot with a small wooden hut/box. Back then, it was called Hanni's Futterkiste, and the name and owner moved into the new building. Now it's the Futterkiste restaurant, and it still offers excellent service and delicious food.

A rarity at Restaurant Dschungel. Here, the food is still fresh and homemade. And it's very good, too. Meatballs and schnitzel just like mom used to make. I've rarely eaten so much. 🫶🏼

The food took forever. I had a shish kebab with fries. The meat was dry and tough. The waitress was completely absent, and I would have liked to have ordered a drink. Not particularly recommended. Not particularly good value for money.

Tasty, reasonably priced food, very friendly service. The portion of goulash with noodles could be a bit more generous for a man.

Came here on a holiday from England. Cosy little pub, nice staff and decent prices. No food only drinks for my wife and I. The customers were very friendly due to me being from England. One even brought me a shnaps! Also the waitress gave me a free shot glass as they were so cute. I would go again and I recommend the place.

Currywurst was a simple bratwurst with curry ketchup and powder. Apple spritzer was pure, non-carbonated water.

Unfortunately we didn't think the food was that great.

Three times in total. Twice today. Currywurst was great for lunch. There again in the afternoon with a friend who is doing rehab. Were immediately welcomed as regular guests. If you like German cuisine and want to drink a cozy beer or want to get in touch right away. 5 stars

Went there spontaneously to eat, but we shouldn't have. The service was ok, but food and drinks are not recommended. I ordered a Fanta, which apparently consisted mostly of water and didn't taste like anything. My husband had a Hefeweizen, which wasn't drinkable either. We gave the food back, the meatloaf tasted like cardboard, the pasta had no salt and the sauce was completely out of the bag and totally over-seasoned. There was no sign of good home-style food. The food used to be very tasty, but if the landlord doesn't feel like it anymore and prefers to argue with his wife, then they should close the shop.

More of a pub than a restaurant but really cute. The menu is short and simple and the food was ok but not great.

I just drank something, didn't eat anything. Very quaint restaurant. Fast and very friendly landlady. The restaurant was full and we were allowed to sit at the women's regular table. We were also 6 women. Wasn't my last visit. Highly recommended.

Fries and bratwurst at real prices. However, the fries were very strongly seasoned and hardly edible. The seating outside was comfortable and umbrellas provided shade. Service: well, there is still room for improvement.

Quaint pub, quick, good, home-made food at reasonable prices. Nice hosts, especially the boss. Delicious cold beer. Very central on the market square with a great beer garden in summer. Insider tip from the menu: meatballs with fries and sauce and a side salad 👍

We had meatloaf with noodles, roulades with dumplings and roast beef with dumplings with Ostheimer dark beer. All very tasty. There is one less star because there is currently only self-service

Kann als Vorspeise die Gulaschsuppe empfehlen, war sehr lecker. Die Rouladen waren nicht ganz so Meins. Sowohl Getränke als auch Speisen sind relativ günstig. Ansonsten ein schöner Biergarten im Zentrum von Gersfeld.

Überschaubare Speisekarte, dafür sehr gutes, frisch zubereitetes Essen, gute Getränkekarte, Preise absolut okay, gute und nette Bedienung.

Super Essen, Schaschlick einsame Spitze, gute deutsche Küche, vor allem Küche durchgehend geöffnet. Gemütlicher Biergarten ( man sollte sich aber Kissen für die Stühle holen) mit Blick auf den Marktplatz von Gersfeld. Bei vollem Haus kann es schon mal etwas länger dauern, aber es ist wie überall, alle wollen sofort bedient werden, aber keiner will in der Gastro arbeiten.

Gut bürgerliche Küche. Sehr lecker. Waren im Rahmen der Moped Tour zweimal hier. Etwas mehr wäre ok, aber passt. Freundliche Leute. Gerne wieder!

Super gutes Restaurant mit deutschem Essen. Der schweinebraten mit selbstgemachten Klößen und Rotkohl war ein Gedicht. Absolute Empfehlung!

Schöner gemütlicher Ort mit freundlicher Kellnerin. Das Ambiente war sehr gemütlich und urig im Inneren und schönes gemütliches Sitzen unter Sonnenschirmen unmittelbar davor. Das war sehr lecker und sehr günstig. Das bekommt heutzutage nirgendwo mehr bzw. kaum noch. Gesamteindruck sehr positiv. Ich würde hier wieder essen und kann es sehr empfehlen. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es direkt davor nicht. Dafür kann man ringsherum mit Parkscheibe 2 Stunden kostenlos auf gekennzeichneten Parkflächen parken. So musste ich nur 1 Minute laufen.

Geschmäcker sind unterschiedlich, aber hier würde ich nicht nochmal essen.

Geht so , wir haben für einen Kaffee und eine Limo halt gemacht und das 'Erwachen' von Gersfeld mit angeschaut. Die Futterkiste ist das erste Restaurant am Platz, dass um halb 12 (zwölf) schon aufmacht. Alle anderen öffnen um 12 oder später ihren Service für die Kunden.

TOP!!! Toller Biergarten. Bedienung zwar allein, aber das Warten hat sich definitiv gelohnt. Sehr leckeres Essen, man hört das Klopfen des Schnitzels aus der Küche. Rouladen wie bei Oma zuhause. Jederzeit wieder!!!

Waren in der Nähe unterwegs und sind über Google maps hierauf aufmerksam geworden. Leider stimmen die veröffentlichten Preisangaben nicht mehr. Wir hatten Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes bestellt, die größe der Portionen sind überschaubar. Pro: Schnitzel waren paniert. Contra: aus der Fritteuse. Beilagensalat wird extra berechnet, dafür sind die Preise für Getränke top! Netter Außenbereich vorhanden. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich.

Preislich ganz OK auch vom Ambiente schön eingerichtet halt wie eine kleine Kneipen Gaststätte für ältere. Schade nur, dass Salat nicht jeden Tag verfügbar ist.

Wir waren auf dem Weg nach Hause, und haben bei Google nach Gaststätten in Gersfeld gesucht. Und siehe da, wir haben das richtige gefunden. Gemütliches altes Lokal, wir haben Roulade mit Klößen und Blaukraut gegessen. Super lecker!!! Können wir nur weiterempfehlen
