Gaststätte Am Georgengarten in Dessau-Roßlau

The food was (for me) significantly too small in portion size, especially considering the price. A large one – I'd go for it if you're not filling up on a €26 main course. The taste was very good, though 👍 Service was good, but could have been a bit more attentive.

We had venison as a starter (marinated venison) and as a main course (venison stew and three different types of venison). The venison in the starter had to be hunted for among the many lettuce leaves, but we did find a few small pieces, but not for €14.50! The main courses all seemed to have the same sauce, and the red cabbage was overcooked. With that, two beers at €5.90 each, totaling €75 for a more than ordinary meal. Not recommended.

When the waiters ignore you completely and only mumble when you ask (because you speak little German or want to understand it), that's a sad sign. But there are so many problems in the restaurant industry. It's a shame! I can't say anything about the food, as we weren't served.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration in this beautiful setting, thanks to the delicious food (from coffee and cake to the lovingly prepared dishes for dinner) and the excellent service. All our requests were promptly fulfilled, and we received very friendly and attentive service. We highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was very good and the service prompt. The wine list is small but well-selected, with a focus on local wines (Saale Unstrut), but there are also Palatinate wines and others. Thanks to the good weather, we sat outside; it was pleasantly quiet, the view of the park was beautiful, and there was hardly any traffic on the street (looking from the other direction). We'd be happy to go back!

The prices are completely exorbitant. We paid over €20 per person for a vegetarian pasta dish. It was our first and last visit there. Never again!

Before the concert at Georgengarten, we were happy to find a free table. The young woman who took our order seemed a little overwhelmed in the 34-degree heat, but we helped her out. The food itself was one of the worst in years: small, uninspired portions that contained nothing special for a considerable amount of money. I don't recommend this restaurant at all.

I ordered an appetizer (feta in tomato sauce) and only received two very small slices of bread. The appetizer salads came in two sizes, even though we ordered exactly the same salad twice.

We were here with a family of 25 people. The staff was really friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and fresh. We sat outside the restaurant, but the terrace could be nicer. In summary, we really enjoyed ourselves. We'll definitely be back!

We dropped by spontaneously with several dogs, and even though the outdoor area was actually closed, they very kindly secured a table for us without any problems. We received very friendly service and the food was delicious. Thank you for the excellent service! You don't see that very often these days. We'd all love to come back!

The food is very tasty but I also think it's a bit expensive for standard home cooking. There wasn't enough hollandaise with the asparagus for me. The waitress was rather rude and hardly thanked us for the good tip. I was annoyed afterwards. I also think beer for 5.90 is absolutely too much. Anything over €5 for a beer makes me angry.

Very nice restaurant. We had lunch there and because it was so nice, we also drank coffee after visiting the zoo. Very nice staff. Food was also delicious. I can only recommend it.

We just had a drink. So we can't rate the food. Otherwise the service is good. There is a very nice atmosphere on the terrace. Maybe a little expensive. But all in all, good to very good.

See photo: it's strange when the pages of the menu are pinned in the external display case so that the prices cannot be seen... A rogue if you think badly about it. I was only allowed to see the menu and prices in the restaurant when I asked. I found it unfair and far too expensive. It may be a great restaurant with delicious food, but from the above. I didn't come here for some reasons. It's a shame actually.

You can feel comfortable here. The coffee tastes very good and the cakes are great. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Really recommended

Nice out door beer garden close to the park and zoo. Service was good and food was freshly prepared. A little on the pricey side but worth the wait.

We were surprised to enter a restaurant located at the edge of the park near the Georgin Castle. We were surprised by the level of food, service and place. Delicious German food.

Came to this location through a crime dinner. The food was very good and the service could be improved, but if you consider that two service staff had to look after around 80 people, i.e. taking and bringing drinks as well as bringing the individual courses to each table, the two of them mastered it tremendously. Nevertheless, always remaining nice and polite is remarkable. If the organizer had also employed a third service person it would be It would have been more relaxed and you would have drank/ordered one or two more drinks. But overall it's worth repeating.

Seasonal dishes... always delicious

Stopped by to eat ice cream. You can sit in the green in the shade of the umbrellas and enjoy. Staff hard-working and friendly. Gladly again.

We love coming here and always love the food. The staff is always friendly and happy to accommodate any special requests. The only thing that definitely needs to be worked on is the non-alcoholic drinks. Selling the cheapest drinks from a discount store (we saw them at the bar) for this price is not proportionate.

Very friendly attentive service. Sitting outside was pleasant. The food was beautifully presented and actually tasted quite good, but it was quite expensive. We skipped dessert, but still paid around 60 euros for the two of us. You can do that as an exception. But it won't be our favorite restaurant in Dessau.

Very friendly and considerate staff served us. The food, zander fillet with mashed potatoes and spring vegetables as well as the steak plate were excellent as was the ice cream. We sat in the beer garden. Only the chairs aren't really comfortable.

A handsome restaurant in a very idyllic location, in the Georgengarten. In the end we only had one drink because the prices were too high for us. A beer alone cost €5.80. The waiter was very friendly.

We discovered it by accident and it was a hit. Rarely have we eaten as well as here and everything is reasonably priced. Definitely again on your next visit to Dessau.

Auf dem Weg zum Dessauer Tierparks kamen wir als Auswärtige zufällig am Restaurant vorbei. Nach dem Tierpark-Besuch war Mittagszeit und wir beschlossen auf gut Glück einzukehren. Es war einer der ersten schönen Tage im Jahr und alle Besucher des Lokals saßen im Freisitz, einige Tische waren sogar reserviert. - Ein gutes Zeichen. Ohne zuvor die Karte im Kasten studiert zu haben suchen wir einen freien Tisch. Der Service war freundlich. Auf der Speisekarte war überraschend viel Fisch und die beginnende Spargelzeit schlug sich ebenfalls in den Angeboten wider. Wir wählten zweimal "Gebratenen Saibling mit Safranreis, Käutersoße und Spargel". Das Essen war Tip-Top. Es wurde auf heißen Tellern serviert und alle Zutaten wie auch ihr Zusammenspiel haben sehr gut geschmeckt. - Was will man mehr?! Einen Espresso, vielleicht. Und auch der kam - wie es sich gehört, aber bei weitem nicht überall beherzigt wird - unaufgefordert zusammen mit einem Glas stillem Wasser. (Im Lokal gab es noch eine Auswahl lecker aussehender Kuchen und Torten. Diese haben wir jedoch nicht probiert.)

Unfortunately, I was lured by the good reviews. But I have to say clearly, €20 for a schnitzel where you can even hear the microwave at the dining table is really extremely bold. These are prices that you wouldn't even see in Munich, and are certainly not justified in a small city like Dessau. You could at least pretend it wasn't just warmed up from the freezer. I actually find that pretty shameless. The only positive thing I could say is that the service was friendly.

According to other friends who had visited the restaurant, I was very excited and really looked forward to it, but was pretty disappointed afterwards. We were there in a group in the New Year, the service was really good, the staff was courteous and very friendly. It was just too crowded for my taste. But what put everything in the shade was the food. This disappointed across the board. Some had meat that was undercooked, while others had meat that was so well done that it resembled the sole of a shoe. The side dishes were very sparse and there wasn't really a good selection. I just want to speak for myself here, I was more than disappointed because I was once in this industry and expected more given the prices.

We have eaten there many times and have been guests many times. We find. The staff is always friendly, but the owners themselves come across as very grumpy and unfriendly! Nevertheless, I would recommend this restaurant because the price is justified.

We had reserved a table for 3 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. the occupancy was clear, so there were no problems with arriving early. There was only one service person present. We therefore skipped eating and only ordered coffee and cake. The cake was well chilled, but not fresh and not particularly tasty. The coffee was ok, but nothing more. Conclusion: Not a real recommendation. A pity.

Super angerichtete und auch leckere Speisen, ein sehr netter Kellner aber leider sehr laut gewesen im vollen Raum. Ich hatte Kürbiscremesuppe und Hähnchenbrust mit grünem Spargel, Polenta & Grillgemüse sowie das Marzipan-Panna-Cotta

Wirklich schade um diese schöne Location. Getränke nicht kalt, Essen wirklich schlecht (Gericht mit Klößen ohne eine Tropfen Sauce 😥 für 20,-€ !!! ) Nachbestellte Sauce war dann aus der Tüte 🙈 Andere Gäste die um 19.00 kamen wurden abgewiesen, obwohl alles frei war und bis 20,30 geöffnet ist 🙈 Kann man wirklich nicht empfehlen 🤷‍♀️

Die Lage ist nicht schlecht, direkt am Eingang zum Park. Man bekommt eine Speisekarte für alle - die schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen ist. Der Eisbecher - so groß wie ein Sektglas, für über 8 Euro - beinhaltete einen Miniklecks Sahne am Boden, 3 "Kugeln" Eis (max.Tischtennisballgröße) und oben drauf wieder ein Miniklecks Sahne. Weil das Glas so klein ist bekommt man den Eierlikör (ungekühlt und sehr warm) in einem Schnapsglas dazu. Sowas hab ich noch nie erlebt. Ich glaube ein größeres Glas mit etwas mehr Sahne und den Eierlikör über dem Eis würden den Betreiber auch nicht ärmer machen. Sehr traurig....

Wir sind schon öfter Im Georgengarten eingekehrt. Das Essen ist solide und die Preise okay Besonders schön ist es im Biergarten. Der Service ,insbesondere der junge Kellner, ist freundlich und umsichtig Wenn es bei voller Terrasse auch einmal etwas länger dauert ist das zu verschmerzen Rollstuhlgerechter Zugang ist vorhanden Wir empfehlen die Gaststätte gern weiter

Die Gaststätte ist herrlich gelegen, das Personal ist aufmerksam und kinderfreundlich. Die Pfifferlingssuppe - sehr lecker, auch die Fischgerichte sind zu empfehlen. Der Service denkt mit, auch bei der Erinnerung an die Parkscheiben - Dankeschön.

Hallo das Personal ist unfreundlich, es wurde das Essen falsch gebracht und es gibt billig Cola aus dem Discounter zu teuren Preis sehr übertrieben. Wir gehen nicht mehr hin.
