Gaststätte Alter Schlachthof in Regensburg

Trotz vollem Biergarten kam der Kellner regelmäßig vorbei, und hat auch auf Sichtkontakt direkt reagiert. Auch das Essen (Altmünchner Schnitzel, Süßkartoffelpüree und Vorspeise) kam schnell und war sehr gut (bis auf den Obatzten, der war leider nicht ganz unser fall). Preislich für den Raum Regensburg sehr gut, nur die Parkplatzsituation ist etwas schwierig, aber in der Nähe gibt es ein Parkhaus. Sehr großes Lob geht an die Bedienung, sehr freundlich und Aufmerksam, und hat uns sogar das Spielzeug unseres Sohnes, welches er am Tisch vergessen hatte, nachgebracht! Großen Dank nochmal! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Schöner Garten mit Service. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung. Leider gab es keine Klimaanlage und es war unerträglich heiß. Ein Ventilator im Zimmer brachte etwas Linderung, war aber unzuverlässig. Für das Gebotene erschien uns das Zimmer zu teuer.

Ruhiges, sauberes Zimmer mit moderner Ausstattung, etwas merkwürdig geschnitten aber das ist wohl dem alten Gebäude geschuldet.

Da ich auf einem Kongress im Marina-Forum direkt gegenüber war, war der Standort optimal. Essen und Lokal waren sehr gut, der Service nett, aber recht langsam (vielleicht unterbesetzt?!)

Wir sind eingekehrt und fühlten uns gleich wohl . Leckeres Essen und leckeres Bier lockten uns jeden Tag hier her .

Wir haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. In der Küche war kein Koch zu sehen, man kann durch das Fenster direkt hineinblicken. Das Essen war lauwarm und hat nicht geschmeckt. Auf den Kaiserschmarrn mussten wir weitere 45 Minuten warten – wieder war kein Koch in der Küche, und die Arbeitsflächen sahen aus wie ein Müllhaufen. Ekelhaft! Der Kaiserschmarrn war nicht selbstgemacht, sondern hart und in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt. Diese Küche kann einfach nicht kochen.Die Bedienung, Ramona Negrea, hat uns komplett ignoriert. Wenn in der Küche doch mal gearbeitet wurde, stand sie nur dabei und hat zugeschaut und gequatsch. Auch die Gäste im Außenbereich haben nichts bekommen. Beim Bezahlen mussten wir erneut 30 Minuten warten und schließlich alle anderen Servicekräfte ansprechen, da unsere Bedienung 40 Minuten lang zum Quatschen in der Küche verschwunden war. Es gibt keinerlei Kommunikation unter dem Personal. Als wir kurz davor waren, einfach zu gehen, haben wir 3 mal ein andere Bedienung angesprochen das er doch rein gehen soll und Sie raus schicken soll sonst gehen wir. Und das alles, obwohl im Restaurant kaum etwas los war. Freitag. 01.05.2026. Nicht zu Empfehlen und mit Bayern hat das nichts zu tun. Viel zu Teuer für die kleinen Portionen und ich bin selber Koch.

Man kann hier super ruhig sitzen, man wird nämlich nicht einmal von einer Bedienung gestört, die sind nämlich am Ausschank und unterhalten sich untereinander, während man gerne Getränke oder ein Essen bestellen will. War schon am überlegen ob ich nicht frage, ob ich nicht ihnen was bringen kann.

Das Essen war gut, der Service höflich, die Preise angemessen.

Ein kulinarischer Hochgenuss gepaart mit ehrlicher Gastfreundschaft. Sollten wir wieder in die Region kommen, kehren wir gerne wieder ein. Eine wahre Emofehlung an alle Genießer.:)

In Regensburg unterschätzte Gastwirtschaft. Solid sehr gute Küche, abwechslungsreiche Tages- bzw. Wochenkarten, insgesamt tolle Speisekarte, sehr freundlicher Service, schöner Biergarten, auch für die Mittagspause sehr angenehm, tolle Mittagsmenüs. Vorschläge an das Gasthaus: Akkustik innen im Gastraum verbessern, irgendwas, was den Geräuschpegel schluckt, und das junge, wirklich immer sehr freundliche Personal weiter schulen, bspw. dass es weniger vergisst :-) Das sind gute, nette Leute im Service mit Potential, müssen nur mit der Zeit noch mehr in den Beruf des Gastronoms hinein finden. Das sind aber alles nur Kleinigkeiten. Tatsächlich insgesamt klare fünf Sterne und eine deutliche Empfehlung für dieses gute Gasthaus, das zudem unsere Nachnarschaft, unser Viertel deutlich aufwertet. PS: Besuch hat dort übernachtet und hat das Gasthaus auch als Unterkunft sehr gelobt.

Wir waren zur Firmen-Weihnachtsfeier hier und es hätte nicht besser sein können. Der Service war voll auf Zack und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Unsere Gerichte waren ein absoluter Gaumenschmaus und für jede Geschmacksrichtung ein absoluter Traum. Wir kommen gerne wieder 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Wurde positiv angepriesen. Das Essen war ok, Preise gehoben, aber ok. Der Kellner kam total arrogant rüber und man wurde herablassend behandelt, schade eigentlich, Würde nicht wieder hingehen

Wir haben hier einen Zwischenstopp eingelegt, um in einem Pub mit echtem Ale und deutscher Küche ein besonderes Erlebnis zu genießen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht – das Essen war ausgezeichnet und der Service großartig. Es hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen, wir können die 4,2-Sterne-Bewertung überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Angenehme Atmosphäre, reichliche Portionen, wirklich gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Und ich muss unbedingt noch hinzufügen: blitzsaubere Toiletten und hohe Decken!

The old slaughterhouse wasn't all that great. The pumpkin soup had more of a broth-like taste. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) barely had any cheese on them; they were just regular dry spaetzle, and there was no lettuce or side salad. The pork tenderloin, onion roast beef, etc., were all a bit bland. My conclusion: I've definitely had much better. Tastes vary, of course.

Great atmosphere, friendly welcome. Delicious beer, but the waiter was unpleasant. Some of the Bavarian antipasti were absolutely delicious! The bread served was a few days old. I'd gladly come back!

A lovely restaurant with appealing local color, although the acoustics are terribly loud when full. The service is professional and friendly, never intrusive. The food is truly good and presented attractively. Each dish comes in a slightly different format – sometimes as a small plant, sometimes in a casserole dish, sometimes on a small board or plate. The menu is presented like a newspaper, which is quite unique. Highly recommended!

I liked the rooms when I was shown them, but I never stayed overnight because I live around the corner. The restaurant is fantastic: a rustic pub atmosphere with a beautiful vaulted ceiling, and in the summer, a lovely beer garden under mature trees. Great menu (Schlachthof Blad'l) – the antipasti platter is a sight to behold, and Kneitinger Pils is a Regensburg cultural treasure anyway. It's not Kneitinger's original restaurant on Arnulfsplatz – but still: definitely go.

The food was truly delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and the value for money was absolutely spot on. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is also pleasant—you immediately feel at home. I'd definitely be happy to come back!

We visited the restaurant spontaneously and were able to snag a table for Saturday evening without a reservation. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was excellent! The fruit brandies were also absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the house beer. If you have enough vocal ability to hold a conversation in the large main hall when it's full, you'll definitely have a wonderful and delicious evening there! We would definitely come back and can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant :)

I ordered a schnitzel with fries at the "Alter Schlachthof" restaurant. The schnitzel was really good, but unfortunately, the fries weren't crispy. My neighbors had ordered spinach dumplings – one bite was enough for them to realize they didn't taste that good. I would especially like to emphasize the very friendly service, which made our stay pleasant. Overall, I would say: I would definitely visit the restaurant again to try other specialties on the menu. However, the schnitzel alone wouldn't be worth a second visit. Thank you very much!

We're deliberately only giving it 2 stars. Unfortunately, we had a truly miserable evening today. After repeated requests, we received our food after 1.45 hours. Two meals were completely cold, and the Bavarian antipasti snack was very poorly presented (there was a loose bone on the plate that wasn't ours). After several complaints, we apologized, but nothing else was done. We still charged for the missing coleslaw from the roast pork. Unfortunately, you won't see us again for this reason.

The down-to-earth dishes were delicious and beautifully presented, along with the regional beer. The lovely beer garden made us feel completely at home. We'd love to come back!

The room was spacious but unfortunately lacked a closet, and housekeeping was limited. The breakfast, which was advertised as regional Bavarian, turned out to be substandard. No typical rolls, but rather the kind you'd expect from a gas station. The cold cuts weren't particularly good either, neither was the selection, nor was there anything typically Bavarian, not even a slice of Leberkäse (liver sausage).

09/22 Fast, attentive service—nothing to complain about. We were all satisfied with the schnitzel variations. The base prices for the schnitzel variations are acceptable, but with the side dishes on top, it adds up. Overall impression: Thumbs up from the four of us. One more note: the interior is a bit dark.

Not only are the prices high, but almost every dish is actually WAY too salty. Service is unfriendly, snippy, and seems inefficient and uncoordinated. It takes forever to get what you order. We once waited 45 minutes for fries and main courses, and our second drink was brought when we were about to pay (at least 30 minutes late). The only remaining reason to go here is its proximity to the playground.

The location itself is quite nice, but unbearably loud and far too crowded. The waiters were constantly bumping into chairs and tables. The food was excellent and fairly priced. Our waiter wouldn't have hurt to have some product training. In a Bavarian restaurant, you should know what a Goaßmaß is.

Het duurt eeuwig vooraleer ze komen opnemen. Dame staat aan de tafel, zegt dat ze iemand zal sturen om op te nemen (terwijl ze de tafel naast ons opneemt) en een half uur later nog niemand gezien.

So, a beautiful beer garden. We ordered from the menu, first an appetizer that we didn't get, then the main course. Afterward, the waiter asked if we still wanted the forgotten appetizer. Sorry, the service wasn't the best. You can skip the main course.

Apart from the limited number of parking spaces, this restaurant is 100% recommended.

I'm only reviewing the restaurant. We were in Regensburg for four days and ate at the old slaughterhouse three evenings. Every evening was a delight. The staff was courteous and on the ball. The food was excellent, and so was the beer. The dishes were truly lovingly prepared. The chef has an eye for detail.

I ordered the Munich schnitzel with fried potatoes. Well, what can I say...the fried potatoes are by far the best I've ever had, and I travel a lot and eat out often, but I haven't had anything this delicious often. The schnitzel is so well-balanced with mustard, horseradish, and the pretzel breading. It's unusual but extremely delicious and harmonious. The dessert, which I had Kaiserschmarrn, was also a treat. The waitress came regularly to see if we needed anything and was always extremely friendly. The kitchen is open to view, extremely competent and clean, and all the employees are very well dressed, which is something I haven't seen often. I will definitely eat here more often if I'm in the area. I'm really impressed and already looking forward to the next time.

We stayed here again on our return trip. Delicious food and beer garden, I highly recommend it. Will be back.

I have known the hotel and the restaurant for a long time. When I have work to do in REG I stay here. The gastronomic offering is down-to-earth. The in-house beers are top. Parking at the house, 15 minutes walk to the city center, just great. But there is also a downside to be noted. During our last visit my wife became seriously ill and we had to leave a day early. The communication from reception in the morning to the booking service did NOT work. Which also had a negative impact on the understanding of getting the outstanding night, or part of it, refunded. I am very saddened by this.

I'm just rating the restaurant and probably giving it a full five stars for the first time today. The service is top, there is something on the menu for everyone and my meal was top. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has steadily decreased compared to previous years, and recently we have often been disappointed with different dishes. The roast pork was always very dry and hard to enjoy without lots of sauce. Unfortunately, the onion roast wasn't much better, the meat was tough and hardly edible. The service is always good 👍 Unfortunately, with your eyes closed, you could only find your way to the toilet nasally. Please put in a little more effort and it will be the right decision to eat at your place again.

The roast was very tasty, but the Maultaschen soup was unfortunately barely edible and not recommended. It's sold as Swabian Maultaschen, but it contains cheese (?!?) and other ingredients that don't belong in regular Maultaschen. The pastry coating is very mushy. No one at our table liked my meal. It needs to be removed from the menu or the recipe changed! The rest was delicious!

Good cuisine, but far too meat-heavy for modern times. So maybe it's more for pensioners who need their daily portion of animals on their plate and feel bothered by vegetarian options on the menu.

Im alten Schlachthof steht vor allem bayerische Hausmannskost auf der Karte, das Ambiente ist rustikal und entspannt. Nicht alle Gerichte sind empfehlenswert (Obazda, Spinatknödel mit Gorgonzolasauce, Schnitzel Florentiner Art). Das Kneitinger Bier ist sehr gut.

The hotel is nice and clean. Although we had the radiators set to level 5 (max) and it was +2°C outside, the room was cold. When it's below 0°C outside, I can't imagine staying there We were in the restaurant only once, to taste both. It was nicely served and very good. The beer is also excellent. For breakfast, we only had salami, no ham. I would have expected a larger selection of cold meats and cheeses and their continuous replenishment. For about 1 hour at breakfast, no one refilled anything there, even though other guests came. The spreads (both beetroot and herb) were excellent. The pastry was fresh and crispy. The hotel staff could smile more and be more communicative.

The taste was good, but the portion was a bit small. The dishes were a great idea, but unfortunately not very practical. But it was a cool idea.

The Cordon Bleu was very tasty, but at just over €15 WITHOUT any side dishes I would have liked a larger portion. That was very manageable. I had the fried potatoes as a side dish. At €5 for a total of a maximum of 2 medium-sized sliced ​​potatoes it wasn't worth the price. I know a variation of fried potatoes with bacon and onions, both of which were missing. It was very sobering. UNFORTUNATELY the price/performance ratio is not right for me. For dessert, Kaiserschmarrn - was extremely good! The restaurant itself is very nice, but also very loud. It wasn't fully booked, but the noise was deafening. Service was very nice and accommodating.

Went there with a larger group and had our own room for dinner. The name reflects, a restaurant as you imagine it. The waitresses were friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty, although the vegetarian portions were a bit small.

When we reserved our room, we stated that we were following a vegan diet and whether this could be taken into account at breakfast. Nobody at the hotel knew anything about it, so we had breakfast in town. On the 3rd morning my husband went for breakfast and later I sat down for a moment without eating because the offer wasn't an option for me. When we left they wanted to charge us for two breakfasts and the lady explained to us that we had to register for a vegan breakfast so that the others didn't eat it?! It was very unpleasant to be made out to be so stupid, even though we had asked several times. Too bad!

The food was good, although not exactly cheap. However, we were asked at 8:45 p.m. that we would like to pay as the restaurant closes at 9:30 p.m. This isn't possible if the opening time is until 11 p.m., and it was a public holiday (October 3rd) and the next day was a bridge day. It was also relatively full, which makes the “expulsion” all the more incomprehensible.

We love being in the slaughterhouse, whether in the beer garden or inside, but it is very unsavory and unhygienic when an extra chair is brought to the table for a dog, and the dog then sits at the table with its snout on the table . The public order office would certainly not approve of that! With all understanding of the love of animals, something like that doesn't work, not in a renowned restaurant like the "Schlachthof"!!

We met with the family in the beer garden. The food was very tasty, the service was really great: fast and friendly. The beer garden is nice and shady under the trees 🌳. A perfect family reunion.
