Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommend Personal tolles einfaches Frühstück und gute Kaffee. Zimmer sehr sauber mit süßen Balkon komme auf jeden Fall wieder wenn ich in der Nähe zu tun habe 😀

Ich war im Restaurant. Das Wildgulasch war lecker!

11.04.2026 Heute zum ersten Mal in der Rose. Wir hatten keinen Tisch reserviert und wurden trotzdem freundlich empfangen. Wir bestellten : 1 x Kochkäseschnitzel mit Pommes und Salat 1 x Knoblauchsteak mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat Der gemischte Salat hat sehr gut geschmeckt, zumal das Dressing selbst gemacht war. Super! Das Knoblauchsteak vom Schwein war ein Genuss von der Fleischqualität und der Zubereitung. Das Kochkäseschnitzel war gut und war eine sehr große Portion. Alles in allem waren wir mit dem Service und der Freundlichkeit sehr zufrieden. Wir können die „Rose“ bestens empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Außerordentlich gutes Essen mit hervorragendem Service. Familienbetrieb, der mit sehr viel Hingabe arbeitet. Hier fühlt man sich zu Hause.

Wir waren gestern gegen 11:50 Uhr zu dritt spontan in diesem Restaurant und fragten freundlich, ob ein Tisch frei sei. Uns wurde direkt und ohne weitere Erklärung gesagt, dass nichts frei sei, obwohl mehrere Tische sichtbar frei waren und keiner davon als reserviert gekennzeichnet war. Der Blick und die Art des Kellners waren dabei auffällig abweisend, sodass wir uns sofort unwohl gefühlt haben. Da unsere Gruppe aus asiatischen und schwarzen Personen bestand, ließ uns dieses Verhalten nicht los. Um unser Gefühl zu überprüfen, rief mein deutscher Vater keine drei Minuten später im Restaurant an und reservierte problemlos einen Tisch für 4 Personen um 12:30 Uhr. Plötzlich war also doch ein Tisch verfügbar. Dieses Erlebnis hinterlässt leider den starken Eindruck, dass Gäste je nach Herkunft unterschiedlich behandelt werden. Ob es offiziell so gemeint war oder nicht – das Ergebnis war, dass wir abgewiesen wurden, während eine andere (deutsch klingende) Anfrage sofort akzeptiert wurde. So etwas ist inakzeptabel. Respekt und Gleichbehandlung sollten in der Gastronomie selbstverständlich sein. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht noch einmal besuchen.

Leider alles andere als empfehlenswert. Unfreundlicher Wirt der auf eine kleine Reklamation völlig unangemessen reagiert hat .

Endlich eine kleine, aber feine Speisekarte mit köstlichen Gerichten aus hochwertigen, frischen Zutaten in reichlicher Menge. Der Preis ist absolut gerechtfertigt. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und flink. Auch die Weine sind hervorragend abgestimmt. Ein großes Lob an die Inhaber!

Waren zum Essen im Gasthaus. Hier wird gut gekocht. Alles frisch und schmackhaft.

Wundervoller Gasthof – absolut empfehlenswert! Der Gasthof zur Rose in Oberflockenbach hat uns rundum begeistert. Das Essen ist frisch, liebevoll zubereitet und geschmacklich hervorragend. Der Service war aufmerksam, herzlich und sehr gastfreundlich. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Auch das Ambiente ist gemütlich und authentisch – ideal für einen schönen Abend oder ein entspanntes Essen mit Familie und Freunden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Great rustic restaurant with reasonable prices

A friend invited me here for lunch. Nice atmosphere, quick service. We ordered small portions which were perfectly sufficient. We both chose sauerbraten, dumplings and red cabbage. There was also salad and beforehand the soup of the day which was served in a soup bowl like in the old days. We enjoyed everything and will be back again. We think it's good value for money. Please note the opening times and it's best to reserve a table as it was very busy. There are plenty of free parking spaces opposite. There is also a bus stop right in front. There are a few stairs to climb if you go directly up the building or a little around the outside where you can go without stairs. I can't rate the rooms, we were only there to eat.

I only ate here, but I can recommend it. I had trout.

We were there for our wedding anniversary and received excellent service. The food was very good, but we wouldn't order the Bülent wine again. The restaurant combines good food with the coziness of the Odenwald region. The prices for food and drinks are unmatched in the region; everything is very affordable, especially the wines.

Great hotel; we stay there every time we're in Germany. The staff is fantastic, friendly, and attentive, and they solve any problems. Delicious breakfast.

We visited the restaurant and we were amazed by the excellent food and super excellent service. We ordered deer filler, tried se local German sides and everything tasted great! Beer is from a local brewery and it is excellent. Waiters were very friendly and welcoming. Warm welcoming and excellent service.

We visited the Rose in Oberflockenbach again. As has been the case for many years, the food was delicious, the quality excellent, and the service – despite the large number of guests – friendly and attentive. The quality is consistently high – remarkable!

Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Schnitzel could definitely be better, unfortunately?

We came into the restaurant quite by chance. The service was very friendly – even the dog got his water. The cooked cheese schnitzel was OK. The vegetables, however, were okay. Lightly seasoned, quite cold, and served rather unimaginatively.

We love coming here regularly. We always leave satisfied and full. The food is always delicious, both on the standard menu and the daily specials. We are always open to special requests and happy to accommodate them. The staff is always very friendly, attentive, and quick. You can sit comfortably on the terrace in the summer and inside during the rest of the day. It's like being on vacation. Beautifully rustic and idyllic.

We were there on a Saturday and had made a reservation by phone. Apparently, it wasn't noted, but whatever. Otherwise, it was pleasant and delicious, although the service was appropriate for the (a bit quaint) location...

We went there for dinner on a busy Saturday. Extremely friendly service and excellent food, even for me as a vegetarian. The beetroot carpaccio with baked goat cheese and baked potatoes with salad were really good. It was lovely to sit in the courtyard in the warm weather.

If you want to eat really well and in a very pleasant environment, you should definitely have Rose in Oberflockenbach on your list. Exceptional “beef fillet with pepper cream sauce and fried egg”, never had this combination before, a culinary delight. Perfectly fried to perfection. Staff super friendly. There were four of us and we would love to come back

We have been to the Rose several times. What we particularly like is Sascha, our waitress. He is always very friendly, attentive and always keeps an eye on the guest's needs. No longer a given in the catering industry. A big compliment. We'd love to come back. We can't say anything about the rooms.

Typical place with good food and pleasant atmosphere. We will visit them on the next trip.

Simply top, you can't say anything against it

An overnight stay on a motorcycle tour with dinner and breakfast – it's something, yes. The room was in an old building (an old school next door, I guess), which was really quaint but extremely cozy. Dinner was served outside in the beer garden, cozy (the beer garden) and delicious (the food and the wheat beer). Breakfast the next morning was served inside from the buffet, delicious and truly plentiful. A coffee outside as a farewell... and the good feeling of having enjoyed staying here. I'll definitely be back as a guest on my next motorcycle tour!

Well, I don't want to say much about it here, but the rooms are absolutely not recommended. I'm not rating the food either. I can't say anything about that

We are horrified. There is a photo of a swastika hanging on the wall right next to our table. After we asked the staff about it, the picture was attached. Unacceptable for me...

Delicious food and very hospitable service! The “Rose” was once again the highlight of our hiking trip with friends!

The food was excellent, the location is nice in the Odenwald, but the service was not good, probably due to the lack of staff. 4 menus for 14 people is not enough, when the dishes were served, one person's main course came first, but that person received all the side dishes for the main course last, so the salmon was cold.

This evening I had dinner with my family at the Gasthof zur Rose. The price-performance ratio is great and so is the taste of the food. The service was attentive and very friendly! If we're ever in the area again, we'd love to come by again!

Great cuisine with friendly service. Way to go.

The rating applies to the restaurant on the occasion of our visit in October 2024. The meat (rump steak, ordered medium) was inedible, rubbery, tough, I had to return a quarter. The fried potato is partly jet black (clearly visible)... Something like this shouldn't happen for the targeted class of the house. When I asked the boss about it, all I got was a very light (and quiet) apology, no coffee on the house or a free drink. A follow-up visit looks rather unlikely - I've been coming to the Rose for over 30 years.

Down-to-earth restaurant. You don't have to say much. Tastes !

We were kindly received by the owner. When we opened the door of our room we first thought we had taken a trip back into the past, but everything we needed was there. A lovely bed, excellent internet, smart TV and it was clean. Flushing the toilet was not really optimal. The restaurant is cozy and the service was smooth and flexible, we ordered Schweinerücken and Jägertopf. The Schweinerücken was optimally prepared and buttery soft, but the "I think Schweinemedaillons, I'm not a real meat connoisseur" in the Jägertopf were edible but on the tough side. The toilets belonging to the restaurant were super modern and very clean.

We stopped in after a hike and had reserved online well in advance. Since our hiking group had expanded in the meantime, I used the practical link from the email to adjust the reservation again. The ambience in the outdoor area was very well arranged, the individual tables were not arranged too close together. You could also enjoy a beautiful view of nature. When it comes to the selection of food, there is something for everyone, whether you are small or big, with or without meat. The quality of the food was really excellent. Everyone at the table was happy with their food. The price of the food and drinks are also completely reasonable for the quality, quantity and service. The only negative thing was the hordes of green blowflies that joined us at the table as soon as we had the food in front of us outside. All in all, I can recommend the inn to everyone. But you should definitely reserve in advance. During our visit there was a reserved sign on every table.

We are happy to have found this restaurant. After several restaurants in the area closed There were four of us and we all loved the food, it's a shame we didn't think of it sooner. It balanced menu. Extensive wine list. Everything at a good price-performance ratio.

High prices for the Odenwald, mostly good quality and quantity of food

We only ate here and it was very, very good! Also very friendly staff. Nice outside terrace.

It’s like staying with family. The food is delicious, the service most attentive, and everyone from the dog to the toddler felt welcome. My great-grandmother used to come here and I’m happy to continue the tradition in the fifth generation. Worth the detour!

I can only write about the restaurant as I did not stay there. My parents, my partner, and I came here for dinner and absolutely loved. Great place to sit when the weather is nice, the service was excellent, and the food outstanding. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

A rustic inn with exceptional cuisine

There is enough parking space, breakfast is delicious, dinner and beer too 😉 Staff is more of a family business type instead of professional. This also applies to the rooms, everything is quite old and not really designed for hotel use

We were there for dinner. The atmosphere is nice, the food is very good. The selection of dishes is diverse. The staff is very friendly and quick.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. The restaurant itself is getting old. The tablecloth with stains doesn't work at all. The curtains also need to be washed again.

The Hotel is really clean. Breakfast buffet is decent and is “refilled” immediately if necessary. The restaurant has very good cuisine, very tasty. As a regional specialty, the cooked cheese schnitzel is a must! Everything is complemented by friendly staff. Always my pleasure !!! Keep it up !!!

It's been a long time since I've had such a good butcher's platter.

Was here with my wife last week. Had the Kochkässchnitzel. The food was extremely tasty, the service was extremely friendly!

Super nice staff (including the innkeepers!!), delicious food and an amazing breakfast - and all of this at a very good price-performance ratio... We will be back!

Very disorganized, lots of employees where one doesn't know what the other is doing or has done! Then it totally smelled like burnt food. The rum steak was totally tough and extremely fatty, disgusting! The croquettes were also tasteless and burst open. The croquettes you buy from Aldi taste a lot better. Then the Rg. was brought incorrectly. In short, very bad restaurant.

Ausgezeichnete Küche, nettes Ambiente, vertretbare Preise, freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung, Einhaltung der Corona-Regeln, man fühlt sich sehr sicher, super saubere und moderne Toiletten, absolut zu empfehlen; update: nach dem heutigen Besuch ein Stern Abzug, lange Wartezeit auf die Bedienung, Beilagen bei einem Gericht falsch

Sehr freundlicher Service und tolles Essen. Preis/ Leistung top. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Unterkunft und Frühstück waren sehr gut! Das Abendessen war überdurchschnittlich gut! Jederzeit zu empfehlen

Solides Essen. Schnitzel habe ich schon besser gegessen. Beilagen lecker.
