The two of us were just there for a lunch treat (sausage salad and soup) and sat outside in the beer garden. The food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant, albeit a bit noisy due to its location right on the street. Not too expensive. It's doable.

The meatloaf was okay, but the Kaiserschmarrn was unfortunately not as good (almost like scrambled eggs). Anyone who has ever tasted a real Kaiserschmarrn in Austria will be disappointed.

A typical rustic Bavarian restaurant with a beer garden. Unfortunately, it's right on the main road, which was very busy due to construction. Even though we sat outside, the noise level was quite high. Very friendly service, but the food was rather so-so, and the portions were relatively small. The schnitzel with chanterelle cream sauce and spaetzle were tough and bland, with a total lack of flavor. The side salad was also terrible, and the Leberkäse (liver sausage) with potato and cucumber salad was okay, but not much. We weren't impressed by the restaurant, neither in terms of ambiance nor in terms of taste.

Luckily, I ended up there by chance because another restaurant wasn't serving lunch yet! Lovely shady beer garden under the trees; the proximity to the road doesn't bother me at all. The food is delicious, the service is attentive. If you just want to try some classic Bavarian food, this is definitely the place for you.

We arrived in Rottach-Egern on Sunday for vacation. The 8-hour drive went perfectly without any major interruptions. By the time we arrived, we were quite hungry, so we looked for somewhere within walking distance. We called, reserved a table for 7:30 PM, and off we went. A wonderful ambiance and a lively atmosphere. The food arrived quickly, and the service was truly excellent. After a successful dinner, it quickly became clear: we'd go there again on vacation... and we weren't disappointed the second time around. I definitely recommend it, but make sure you reserve a table, as it's almost always full (understandably). We were looking for lunch and found good Bavarian food here. Simple but good, and above all, affordable. There was a delicious shandy with salad and spinach dumplings with melted butter, as well as cheese, Leberkäse (liver sausage) with egg, and potato salad. For dessert, there were apple fritters and apricot dumplings, also delicious. The downside was the street noise, but that's what the rustic inn is for. It looked very cozy inside.

The roast beef with onions was fantastic! A decent, thick piece of meat, not the thin ones you often get. We sat in the beer garden shortly after the rain. Josef took great care to dry everything. Otherwise, the service was good and friendly. The price/performance ratio was right.

When we were there, it was very loud. The food came so quickly. It felt like you were supposed to eat quickly and then make room for the next guests. I personally don't like that, but for others, it might be perfect.

As a family, we ended the last day of our fantastic road trip through Bavaria at g.z.rosser. We loved it; the service was super friendly and super efficient. The food was simply excellent. It wasn't haute cuisine, but we didn't want it to be. It was just how we wanted it: Bavarian refinement and incredibly delicious.

The food was delicious and absolutely sufficient for a full day's meal—you're so full that you don't need to eat anything else all day. I had cheese spaetzle with salad, both were excellent. The waitresses were very nice. The prices are high, but normal for the location.☺️

We were able to reserve a table for two at short notice. The food (Rosser Teller and Käsespätzle) was delicious, and the service was very attentive. I recommend the apricot schnapps for dessert. 😉

We ate at the inn on Sunday. Unfortunately, everything outside was full, but we were able to eat inside. The restaurant has a rustic decor, a classic brewery atmosphere. The staff is quick and a little impatient, as they were busy. The food was a complete disappointment. The onion roast beef with fried potatoes and salad was delivered promptly, and the salad was okay, but the meat was medium rare rather than medium pink. The fried onions were soggy, as if they had been reheated or kept warm, and looked from the day before. The fried potatoes were also soggy and seemed reheated and not fresh. The Wiener schnitzel was classic convenience food and well prepared, not crispy, not tasty, and we would have expected a completely different quality here in the region. We were there last year and weren't satisfied, and we won't be going back this year, so we won't be visiting the restaurant again.

Simply mass processing. Food ready in 15 minutes, despite a full house. Nothing was fresh or homemade. Portions small and disappointing. A handful of fries on the side. Schnitzel dry. Mini portion of Kaiserschmarrn, which you can get twice or three times the price for at other restaurants.

Last year we were thrilled, but this year it was disappointing. The prices have been raised significantly, which is incomprehensible given the quality of the food. The cheese spaetzle was lukewarm, tasteless, and served with pre-made onions. It's a shame; we expected more.

The Gasthof Zum Rosser was our first stop during our stay in Rottach Egern, especially since the board with the daily specials was clearly visible as we drove past (luckily there was a traffic jam), and we immediately felt like it. When we approached the beer garden around 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday, it was already quite full of diners. After a brief glance with the reservation manager, we were asked if we could sit down. No problem for us. The friendly waitress quickly handed us the menu and promptly took our drinks. We were approached several times by the courteous staff until we had finally decided on the dishes. Despite the busy schedule, the wait until the food was served was very short. We were completely satisfied with the quality and taste of the dishes (Rosser plate & fried chicken salad). This inn can be highly recommended. However, if you plan to dine with several people, making a reservation in advance is highly recommended. We will definitely come back on our next visit to the Tegersee Valley!

A cozy restaurant with a secluded beer garden under old trees! The food is very good and the price/performance ratio is right! We visited several times during our vacation and had different waiters...and everyone was really friendly and nice...which unfortunately doesn't happen so often these days! Unfortunately, I can't write a review about the food here, but I can write about an incident and how it was played down by the staff the day after. My wife and I wanted to eat at the restaurant, but as it was busy, we had to wait a short while - no problem at all. While we were waiting, a short, heavy shower passed over us and we had to take shelter in the house next door. When the rain let up, I wanted to go up the wet stone steps to see if a table was available. On the wet and very slippery steps, I slipped and, as I was bracing myself, landed on the glass pane of a lamppost. So I had to go to the hospital for stitches instead of eating. When we reported the incident to a member of staff a day later and asked them to put up "Caution: Slippery" signs in the future so people would be warned, we were told that there would be two such signs. She showed us the signs. However, they were at the restaurant entrance (to warn people when leaving) and up on the outside terrace. In my opinion, this sign should be placed on the stairs when it's wet, as this is where the real danger lies. Local residents also told us that this was the third time someone had fallen down the stairs in a very short period of time. What actually annoyed us most was the way the employee was brushed off without any understanding or real apology. It seemed to us that we were disturbing her while she was operating the restaurant. So we left the restaurant and hope that no one else slips on those stairs. We won't recommend this restaurant based on the employee's behavior alone.

We were surprised at how good it was here. Great service and excellent food. The price was okay for Tegernsee. The Kaiserschmarren was €14.90. But it was truly homemade and very good. Caramelized with brown butter, something you don't find very often these days.

During our stay at the highly recommended Hotel Haltmair in Rottach Egern, we stopped at Rosser twice and were extremely satisfied each time. A shady beer garden, well-kept dining rooms, and an extensive menu with many Bavarian delicacies, all deliciously prepared and served with a friendly atmosphere. The prices are quite reasonable. We'll be back at Tegernsee in a few months and would love to come back. Thank you!

Während unseres Aufenthalts im überaus empfehlenswerten Hotel Haltmair in Rottach Egern sind wir zweimal beim Rosser eingekehrt und waren jedes Mal hochzufrieden. Schattiger Biergarten, gepflegte Gaststuben, umfangreiche Speisenkarte mit vielen bayrischen Schmankerln, die sehr schmackhaft zubereitet sind und freundlich serviert werden. Die Preise sind durchaus gastfreundlich. In einigen Monaten sind wir wieder am Tegernsee und kommen gerne wieder. Vergeltˋs Gott!

As we walked past this morning, we saw that there would be live music starting at 6:00 p.m. We spontaneously decided to go. We got a table at 5:30 p.m. without a reservation and had a very good meal. The service was friendly, quick, and very attentive. A very successful holiday evening.

The Tegernsee Valley is home to some truly excellent restaurants. Rosser is definitely one of them. Authentic Bavarian menu, very well-prepared dishes (we had liver spaetzle soup and fried chicken), extremely friendly service from Slovakia, and all at reasonable prices. We'd love to stop by again during our vacation in Rottach. There's music on Friday...! Last but not least: the mountain gentian is also top-notch!

We were seated right by the entrance, which wasn't too bad, but it wasn't particularly comfortable either. That was probably because I only made a reservation two hours in advance. The food and service were great. Nothing to complain about. I'd be happy to go back.

A very cozy, rustic, typically Bavarian restaurant. The selection of food and drinks is very diverse, with something for everyone. We visited three times during our vacation. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They made every effort to find a table, even when it was very busy.

Wir hatten den Rosser Teller und den Hirschrücken mit Spätzle und Blaukraut. Es war Mega lecker. Einziger Kritikpunkt, etwas wenig Sosse und die Knödel waren sehr trocken. Aber es war sehr lecker und wir wurden satt. Bedienung war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir würden nochmal wiederkommen!!!!

We ate there a few times, enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The staff is always friendly and prompt, even when it's packed. However, we recommend making a table reservation. We'll definitely be back the next time we visit Rottach-Egern.

We were at the Gasthof Rosser after a strenuous hike and were therefore very hungry. We called ahead and were able to stop by without a reservation. The service was very friendly and looked after us wonderfully. We were able to eat our food in a cozy atmosphere outside. Unfortunately, the veal schnitzel wasn't entirely convincing. That certain “something” was missing. Nevertheless, we would give the inn another chance because of the great atmosphere and the friendly service.

Bavarian inn with friendly staff. We had 1x pork schnitzel with fries, a small salad plate (you have to order it separately, it's not included with the schnitzel) and 1x cordon bleu with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the cordon bleu was not completely filled as usual, only half had ham and cheese and there could have been a little more of the fried potatoes. Everything tasted very good.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our visit to the restaurant. Apparently our food order was overlooked. We asked after 30 minutes. The waitress told us the food would be coming soon. Then waited another 20 minutes and asked. The waitress couldn't explain it either. So after an hour we paid for our drinks and left hungry. Too bad.

Unfortunately, an absolute tourist trap! Spaghetti with turkey is just disastrous, Pasta cooked way too long and not freshly prepared, turkey was cooked to death! Food was served after 5 minutes of ordering!! Can't have been freshly made!
