Gasthof Wilhelm Tell in Zirndorf

We had made a reservation by phone and were asked whether we wanted a buffet or à la carte. Since we specifically didn't want a buffet, we opted for à la carte – unfortunately, it turned out on arrival that only a buffet was available that day. This misinformation was very disappointing, especially since it's impossible to find any reliable information about when the buffet is even offered. Had we known this beforehand, we probably wouldn't have come. The service that evening also left a poor impression. We weren't offered a drinks menu, and when we asked for one, we were met with a clearly visible eye roll. Overall, it was also very noisy, so the atmosphere wasn't exactly inviting. The food itself was okay, and there was a selection of Franconian dishes. However, the side dishes were very limited – sauerkraut or red cabbage were almost nonexistent, and there was no suitable sauce for the Schäufele (pork shoulder). Many dishes were also deep-fried, and there were practically no vegetarian options. The salad selection was also neither visually appealing nor tasty. The desserts consisted of food-colored jelly and cream puffs with and without chocolate sauce – unfortunately, not very appealing either. In conclusion: We were full, but neither the selection nor the quality was convincing. Overall, it wasn't a successful experience for us, and we won't be coming back.

Having previously enjoyed dining at the "Grüne Au," we were eager to try the newly opened "Wilhelm Tell" at Achterplätzchen. The Polish soup of the day was a big hit. The roast pork was also delicious, although the gravy had a slightly off-flavor—it was either due to special spices or some kind of powdered seasoning... I'll just leave it at that. It certainly didn't taste like that at the "Grüne Au" and was definitely better. The dumplings are getting smaller and smaller, which is completely baffling (though it seems to be the case in almost every other restaurant) and a real shame. The schnitzels were good quality meat-wise, but the size was disappointing, and the fried potatoes were a bit too salty. After we finished, we noticed that the side salads were missing. One was brought out, and the other two were replaced with apple fritters. That was absolutely fantastic and was even mentioned again when we paid; apparently, that wouldn't have been the case elsewhere. A definite plus! Every guest also received a homemade schnapps (beware—it's a real disinfectant 😅). It took almost an hour for the soup to be served. So, things were quite slow, but it was also busy, and it took time for everything to settle in... okay... However, the issue of attentiveness is still there. They make their money on drinks, and if a glass has been empty for 30 minutes before the first request—well, that's just how it is. This is pretty much the norm everywhere these days. The service was still very friendly, though, and they even asked at the end where we were from, how we heard about the restaurant, how we liked the food, etc. Perhaps some of these suggestions will be helpful. It would be great if they implemented some of these suggestions so the restaurant wouldn't have to be leased out again after just a few years. There's plenty of parking, but it's a bit dark due to the lack of lighting. We're looking forward to our next visit. (Note: The last sentence about parking is unrelated and appears to be a separate, unrelated comment.) Update Nov 25: Two buffet evenings were organized quite promptly, and we were very satisfied. There were German and Polish delicacies, soup, a selection of salads (the dressing was very good), and some small sweets to finish. The Schäufele (pork shoulder) was absolutely fantastic (the gravy, compared to last time, was also very good and tasted quite authentic). The dumplings were the perfect size for a buffet, but for à la carte dining, they should really be a bit bigger (as already mentioned, there are only two, and they are definitely too small). It would be nice to have Silesian dumplings like they used to make at the buffet evenings.^^ The desserts were also much more varied at the Au (pancakes, cakes, and some ice cream). But perhaps that will come in the future. ... Unfortunately, there were no roulades or langos schnitzel either. By the way, reviews here always mention "homemade"—but that doesn't necessarily mean "made from scratch"... just FYI (though it's not a big deal if the dumpling dough comes from a package) 😉 The restaurant was completely full, and the tables were somewhat awkwardly arranged. I find it uncomfortable to have to squeeze past or through other people, or to constantly have people behind me while eating. But these are all just things to consider—certainly not reasons not to come back, because we will!

We went to the buffet yesterday and were absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere is so cozy and lovely; you immediately feel at ease. There were incredibly delicious Polish specialties, as well as Franconian classics – a truly fantastic mix. The buffet was kept hot the whole time, and they kept replenishing the food, so there was always plenty available. It's a brilliant idea because you can easily sample a variety of dishes and see what they look like. The service was very friendly and they regularly checked if everything was alright. We'll definitely be back!

We dined at Anna's on November 1st, 2025, for the first time, and I can assure you it won't be the last. The food was simply amazing! Everything was absolutely delicious! Despite the restaurant being packed, we were all seated at our table in under 30 minutes! The service was incredibly friendly and attentive! Special requests were no problem and were reliably fulfilled! Since we enjoyed the meal so much, we'll be back again tonight for my wife's birthday (November 6th)! We're looking forward to seeing "Team Anna" again! 😀😎 P.S. Since we live just around the corner, we can't comment on the rooms, of course.

We were invited to dinner at the new Wilhelm Tell restaurant, owned by Anna, on November 2nd, 2025. The restaurant is bright, friendly, and very inviting. We weren't so impressed with the food. I had beef roulade, which was okay. My husband ordered a lumberjack steak. We knew that this was made from pork neck and might contain some ham hocks. What arrived were two huge slices of meat, tough, full of ham hocks, and barely edible, topped with mushy, unroasted onion rings, briefly tossed in a pan, and fried potatoes, half of which were white and the other half burnt black. The entire dish was barely edible, and some of it was packed up for the dogs.

The service is friendly, attentive, and very welcoming. The restaurant recently reopened and is already a complete success. A real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy regional cuisine in a peaceful, natural atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! 🌿🥨🍺

The inn is idyllically situated in the forest. It is easily accessible on foot, by bike, and by car. There is ample parking. I can't comment on the rooms, as we were only there for dinner. Unfortunately, the food isn't particularly special. We had roulade and roast pork. The sauce came from a packet. If there hadn't been a roulade (which was actually okay on its own!) on the plate, I wouldn't have guessed what kind of sauce it was. The pork was dry, possibly sliced ​​and kept warm for too long. The service was friendly but still a bit disorganized. That wasn't so bad; perhaps things still need to get better (they recently reopened). Nevertheless, we wish the new landlord much success. There's certainly room for improvement in the kitchen.

Anna has just opened. We were very pleasantly surprised by the restaurant; it's beautifully decorated, and the food and service were excellent. Keep up the good work and good luck.

I have to say, the food was fantastic. A shoulder of the finest pork was delicious, and I know Anna very well. Hats off to her, and I can only recommend this very good restaurant.

The memory card has been drastically reduced. Service isn't the fastest. But we enjoyed the food that was still available.

The service was prompt and the food arrived quickly, but what I really don't like is when someone mishears the tip and ends up giving a euro less. That always creates awkward situations; it takes away any sense of well-being. My cordon bleu, unfortunately, seemed to have just come from the deep fryer. Sure, it's quick, but the taste is more of a greasy bomb. The restaurant is very child-friendly. Children are allowed to run around and scream freely; there's even a penguin and probably other toys for the little ones. So it's a lively atmosphere here and not a quiet place. Update 2025: Apparently, tenants change frequently, so things could change again by now.

No soundproofing, you could clearly hear the TV and telephone conversations at 5:30 in the morning from the neighbor. Internet unusably slow so unsuitable for work stays. Convenient self check-in and good parking space. Unfortunately, when we left instead of using the parking lot, the food delivery company closed the only entrance for almost half an hour. After a long car journey, my son and I spontaneously and hungry ended up at the Wilhelm Tell Inn. I have rarely been welcomed so warmly and friendly. The lady at the counter had us immediately with her winning smile. The inn is quaint and rustic. I find it absolutely comfortable! The menu is spot on and folks dad food. You really get something for your money here! Super tasty and plentiful. I would like to thank you again!! You're no longer used to this level of friendliness and warmth. Absolute tip!

Fabulous! We went to this restaurant in September 2020 to eat in the beautiful outdoor area and had the carp fillet, the sauerbraten and a portion of fries. The carp and the accompanying side salad were excellent! Compliments to the chef! The sauerbraten was perfect and the fries couldn't have been better either! The menu is not extensive, but completely sufficient and the selection of local beers is also a delight. Combined with the friendly service and the short waiting time, this restaurant is one of our favorites and we will come back! 5 stars without a doubt.

We were here for the first time with these tenants and were only in the garden (like the other guests), which was ideal given the weather and the beautiful location in the forest. The price-performance ratio is very good; you can still eat here at reasonable prices. The menu is manageable, but sufficient and there was also a daily special. You shouldn't expect anything special, but what we got was okay (only the sauce from my Jägerschnitzel wasn't to my taste - but everyone sees it differently), that's it! We will definitely stop by again!

The food, especially the carp, was very tasty. The patio area in summer is also very nice. The interior of the restaurant is just typical of a clubhouse.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und hatten keine großartigen Erwartungen - wir wollten einfach nur zum nächsten Restaurant. Der Gasthof macht vielleicht einen etwas verschlafenen Eindruck, aber wir wurden äußerst positiv überrascht: - Preis und Leistung passte super: Z.B. ein leckeres Nackensteak mit Röstzwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln für 13€ - sehr freundliche Bedienung - idyllische Lage - SEHR kinderfreundlich: Es wurden gleich Stifte & Papier gebracht Auch für Familien echt zu empfehlen, weil auch ein richtig toller Spielplatz im Park nebenan ist. Erst können sich die Kleinen austoben und danach ein Zirndorfer Landbier für Papa :-)

Sehr schöner kleiner Gasthof. Ruhig am Waldrand gelegen. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und nett. Die Gastronomie hat einen schönen Gartenbereich. Gastgeberin und Personal sehr nett. Die Zimmer sind bis auf die Einzelzimmer neu Renoviert. Einzelzimmer sollen als nächstes gemacht werden. Das Zimmer ist schön und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Alles ist sehr sauber. Kommen immer wieder gerne, ganz tolle, authentische Küche. Fränkisch, auch mal mediterran inspiriert. Dazu immer auch vegetarische Optionen im Angebot. Sehr netter, aufmerksamer Service und dazu sehr kinderfreundlich! Weiter so!!!

Wir haben unseren Familienbesuch diese Unterkunft empfohlen, da Ortsnahe zu unserem Wohnsitz. Sehr schön und saubere Unterkunft mit top Lage für Waldgenießer mit und ohne Hund 🐶die Gaststätte haben wir leider nicht genutzt,da wir immer unterwegs waren.

Großer Biergarten im Wald nähe Spielplatz. Die Gaststätte bietet Platz im Nebenzimmer für Veranstaltungen. Freundliche Bedienung. Essen ging schnell und war gut. Waren mit 30 Leuten da und haben nach Karte gegessen.

Wie immer waren wir sehr zufrieden. Wer nach einem Lokal mit deutschem Essen sucht ist hier genau richtig. Am besten gleich Tisch reservieren und genießen.

Der Gasthof liegt in einem kleinen Wäldchen und lädt daher im Sommer auch zum Besuch des Biergartens/Außenbereichs ein. Aber auch so hat die neue Chefin es geschafft diese Wirtschaft moderner wirken zu lassen. Wer die deutsche Küche mag wird hier definitiv fündig. Das Essen ist meines Erachtens sehr gut. Auch der Service ist sehr gut. Musste bisher nie lange auf meine Bestellung warten. Von daher klarer Daumen nach oben 👍🏼 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wir waren mit unserer Tochter für zwei Nächte dort. Es ist am Ortsrand im Wald. Typisch Gasthof und in einer ruhige Lage. Die Sauberkeit war sehr gut. Badezimmer mit Dusche und einer tollen starken Brause 🙂 Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Leider können wir nichts zum Essen sagen, da es während des Aufenthalts keine Gastronomie gab.

Wir kamen zu Zweit (mit Hund) und wurden sofort sehr freundlich von der Chefin begrüßt und auch für den Hund wurde uns umgehend ein Napf mit frischem Wasser gebracht. An benachbarten Tischen ist uns der unglaublich kinderfreundliche Umgang aufgefallen, Familien sind hier auf jeden Fall sehr herzlich willkommen! Das Essen kam sehr zügig und es hat hervorragend geschmeckt (ich hatte Zanderfilet mit buntem Gemüse und Kartoffeln - sehr zu empfehlen!). Die Portionen sind reichlich und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut stimmig. Die Chefin ist sehr herzlich und wir haben mehrfach an diesem Abend mitbekommen, wie sie auch an den Nachbartischen sich immer wieder Zeit genommen hat, um entweder bei der Speisenauswahl zu helfen/beratend zur Seite zu stehen (auf Sonderwünsche wie z.B. "glutenfrei" wird problemlos eingegangen und Spezialwünsche der kleinen Gäste werden auch gerne erfüllt!) oder aber um einfach nur ein paar nette Worte zu wechseln. Wir waren am Ende jedenfalls sehr glücklich, dass uns der Zufall zu diesem Gasthof geführt hat und wir kommen auch ganz bestimmt sehr gerne wieder! Bei gewohnt tollem Service waren wir vom gebackenen Karpfen begeistert. In Zirndorf sind das die besten Karpfen zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Tip: besonders sind die kleinen Karpfen zu empfehlen. Auch das Karpfenfilet war sehr gut

Die Lage der Gaststätte ist super. Der Biergarten ist in Zirndorf mit Abstand der schönste. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Der Preis ist für Zirndorf im oberen Bereich. Die Portionen könnten bei einigen Gerichten größer sein. Für Familien mit Kindern ideal. Am Wochenende Vorbestellung empfehlenswert, da Biergarten immer völlig ausgebucht.

Die Gaststätte wurde am 05.06.2020 neu eröffnet. Die junge Pächterin hat das gemütliche Interieur mit modernen Accessoires kombiniert und damit eine schöne Atmosphäre im Gastraum geschaffen. Tolles Ambiente... Das Essen - fränkische Küche - war sehr lecker und die Portionen echt groß. Preis/ Leistung stimmen! Auch der Service war sehr aufmerksam. Wirklich lohnenswert dort Essen zu gehen. Wir kommen ganz sicher öfter!

Alles in allem war der Aufenthalt ok. Der Check in und out klappen reibungslos. Das Essen im Biergarten war ok aber auch nicht mehr. Hatte etwas den Charakter von Fertigessen. Das Personal war freundlich. Man könnte meiner Meinung nach mehr daraus machen. Die Zimmer waren wirklich sehr sauber und auch das Bad war blitzeblank. Hatten Frühstück nachgsbucht und auch das war gut. Die Kellnerin sehr bemüht. Die Lage zum Playmobil park war perfekt

Nach einem freundlichen Empfang, gestaltete sich zunächst die Bestellung selbst von a la carte Gerichten als äußerst problematisch, da die einzige Bedienung sehr schlecht deutsch verstand und selbst simple gastronomische Gepflogenheiten nicht umzusetzen vermochte. Die kleinsten Kinder mussten geschlagene 50 Minuten auf ihre Pfannkuchen/ Eierkuchen warten. Außer uns neun Personen war lediglich nur noch eine vierköpfige Familie anwesend. Das Essen an sich war auch nur aufgewärmte TK-Ware, der beigegebene Salat auch nur dürftig angerichtet. Fazit: selbst ohne viel Anspruch an ein vernünftiges Essen zu stellen, ist diese Gastlichkeit nicht empfehlenswert.

Der Gasthof liegt etwas außerhalb aber ist dennoch gut zu erreichen. Wir nutzen den Aufenthalt zwecks eines Besuchs im Playmobil Park . Die Zimmer sind sauber und alles ist in gutem Zustand. Die Matratzen sind zu weich aber irgendwas is ja immer. Das Essen war rustikal und sehr gut. Die Preise moderat . Leider gab es trotz Ausschreibung kein Frühstück was uns etwas enttäuscht hat. Dennoch würden wir wieder buchen.

We were invited here for a birthday lunch on Christmas day. The food was good, but that was to be expected with the price. Only the creme brulee was not authentic and there seemed to be no time to burn the sugar as it was still nearly all granulated. They were obviously understaffed as service was a little slow which was fine as we had time, but in a waiter's hurry he spilled gravy all down by back. Definite nono! He brought a cloth to wipe it, but I fear as gravy has oil in it........ No real apology either and no bill reduction or anything.
