For many years, I've enjoyed going to the Weiße Lamm (White Lamb). It's a cozy, traditional Franconian inn in a half-timbered house on the market square in Lauf. The service is simply outstanding. The waiter is always in a joking mood and always creates a great atmosphere. The food is delicious, freshly prepared, and simply unbeatable in the region. Whether it's cordon bleu, bratwurst, liver, Obazda (Bavarian cheese spread), or schnitzel, the Weiße Lamm offers top quality.

We held a birthday party today at a family-run inn in Franconia. All our requests were fulfilled without complaint, and even the significant reduction in the number of guests due to various reasons was accepted without hesitation. The food was plentiful, delicious, and, last but not least, affordable. We enjoy going there and will be back again on December 7th. See you then!

We were forced to stay at this inn for one night on April 19, 2022, after our car broke down. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, as they even allowed us to stay in our room after the usual check-out time on April 20, 2022, and even another night if we had wanted. Many thanks! Breakfast was very good, and the food in general was excellent. I've never eaten such delicious head cheese.

Hello everyone, Based on my experience, I can say the food was very tasty and fresh. The service staff was also very friendly, especially the very attractive, beautiful twins.

Rustic restaurant, cool atmosphere, lively host, food rather below average and not particularly lovingly prepared, but good cuts in the end.

It was a lovely time. The room and the entire Weiße Lamm are quite rustic, which you have to like. Wi-Fi was only available in isolated areas. The toilet and shower are in the hallway, which also takes some getting used to. Therefore, two stars deducted in this category, but otherwise recommended. We could do it again sometime. :)

The shoulder of pork tasted nothing, and the sauce was made with bay leaves and juniper berries??? It tasted like sauerbraten!!! The dumpling was rock hard.

Authentic, rustic pub with a feel-good atmosphere The pub is centrally located in the town center and boasts a cozy, rustic ambiance. The outdoor seating is particularly pleasant and invites you to linger. The food and drink selection is extensive and varied – there's also plenty for vegetarians. The cuisine is down-to-earth, hearty, and tasty. The value for money is excellent. The service is extremely friendly, attentive, and caters to each guest individually. You feel welcome and well looked after. We were completely satisfied and would gladly return. A clear recommendation!

If you're looking for a budget-friendly stay, don't need any frills, and can even stay in small, unrenovated rooms from the 1960s, this is the place for you. There are rooms with private bathrooms; we stayed in one with a shared shower and toilet. Good food, a reasonably priced breakfast, and a great location on the town square.

Personal . Rooms a bit old, nothing to complain about.

We had dinner there. It was very good, the steak was butter tender. The baked potato is a dream! The apple fritters rounded everything off again. THE cordon bleu was also very good! Very fast service despite the fact that it was reasonably busy for a Monday. The prices are very fair!!!!!! The map is small, PLEASE keep it. The staff is super nice, nice and happy to have a chat available when time permits! Dogs are allowed (we were allowed to take ours with us). We will come back when we visit again

I come from near Berlin and I have to say this is a pretty tough shop here. The food is first class and the service is great.

We were on the pitch with the camper and had a delicious hearty schnitzel with fried potatoes here last night. We were very happy to find a restaurant with German cuisine here in Franconia. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is so cozy that you'll want to stay longer than just to eat. We'll definitely be back!!!

Regarding accommodations: We had booked a single room with a shower and toilet in the hallway, which was perfect. The price-performance ratio of these rooms was surprisingly good. There was no WiFi in the rooms, but there was in a TV room.

Thanks to an early reservation we got a table inside. Because the day was too hot to eat outside. The menu offers traditional Franconian dishes as well as vegetarian dishes (and not just one dish) in a reasonable price range. The Franconian charm of the waiter takes you from just a meal to an event. All my guests came out of the White Lamb full, satisfied and cheerful!

A small but nice restaurant in the old town of Lauf! The Schäuferla was so tasty and inexpensive!!! The draft beer is also impressive! The staff was very nice and didn't let any beer glasses go empty. :) a clear recommendation for the palate!!

Unfortunately we can't judge the food. Although we hadn't made a reservation, the landlord treated us so rudely and unfriendly that we wouldn't have wanted to eat there anymore, even if a table had become available. We then went over to the Old Town Hall. The service there was good and the food was also very good!

Rustic Franconian restaurant with good Franconian cuisine without any frills. Went there on a Sunday lunchtime without a reservation and got a spot. Good drinks and good food at a fair price. Toilets are renovated and clean. We'd be happy to come back when we're in the area again.

Delicious, down-to-earth cuisine at fair prices. The reservation in advance was easy over the phone. Schäufele and Schnitzel were very good, unfortunately we didn't like the beer at all, neither the Zoigl nor the dark Radler. The service was friendly, but sometimes you had to wait a long time before you could order new drinks. The location in the heart of Lauf is of course something to behold; despite the minor deficiencies, we'll definitely be happy to come back again. The overall impression was still good, but unfortunately it wasn't enough for full points.

Basically, I was very satisfied: the dish of the day, cream goulash, was a bit unusual (no tomatoes or peppers) but very tasty. The waiter was either very overwhelmed or just extremely unfriendly, so I didn't get a full "score". Despite repeated requests for a vacant place, there were no answers or only gruff answers, so he left me standing. I actually wanted to go again. The charming service made up for it; she was quick, friendly and courteous and was able to not only improve my mood. So I'll probably try it again, the market place is nice and atmospheric. I like to support traditional inns.

Very tasty food and not expensive (schnitzel with fries €12.60). The staff is super friendly, even when there is a lot going on like today (Kunigunde Festival). We got a place for two even without a reservation. We'd love to come back ☺️ (By the way, I think it's completely okay that you have to order the side salad separately. A salad would have been almost too much for me and so everyone can decide for themselves whether they want one or not and less has to be thrown away)

Politeness is a foreign word. The food is good, but the service shouldn't cost more. You will be treated rudely there and lied to on the phone. I am at a loss for words.

It was all about running at the Old Town Festival. As a hiking group, we were given space for 16 people and were served quickly. Prices are now quite high there too. The usual side salad has to be paid extra. My turkey schnitzel had a lot of breading.

I was a guest in the white lamb for 14 days and I was thrilled. Kitchen and service work hand in hand and the guests also feel that. Many thanks especially to Caro. You know how to serve guests at eye level. Thanks to the boss of the house for the lovely breakfast. Individual wishes are pursued. Overnight stays take place either above the restaurant or the guest house opposite. These are simple but tidy rooms with the perfect price-performance ratio. The family atmosphere among the staff is reflected in the well-being of the guests. The food from the kitchen was always faultless. Whether schnitzel, bratwurst or asparagus. Everything is handcrafted to the highest standard. I slept and ate here for 14 days and I will come back. You can't wish for luxury here, but you can feel Franconian and bourgeois. The blood orange Radler from Mönchshof was legendary. Regarding the rooms, you can say that the ones in the guest house are definitely better. Unfortunately, the communal toilets in the area above the restaurant are as the previous speakers have already described.

Zentrumsnah am Marktplatz der Altstadt gelegen. Gutbürgerliche, fränkische Küche. Freundliche Bedienung, Getränke wurden rasch serviert. Essen (Salat mit gebratenem grünen Spargel, fränk. Sauerbraten mit Kloß und gem. Salat) frisch und gut portioniert auch bei voller Auslastung schnell serviert. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis angemessen. Empfehlenswert.

Down-to-earth Franconian cuisine in the heart of Lauf

Ein urgemütliches Gasthaus am Markt in Lauf. Ich bin hier aufgrund einer Empfehlung hergegangen und es hat sich gelohnt. Sehr guter Service, sehr faire Preise und eine ausgezeichnete Küche. Die Schäufle waren perfekt zubereitet und dazu ein lokal gebrautes „Bimberla“ Bier…

Food OK but not more than that, portions sufficient. The price is almost at the upper limit, as for most of the dishes the portion salad has to be ordered separately for €4.50. For this price you don't necessarily have to go to Lauf, you can sometimes get better and cheaper things in Nuremberg.

Very good Franconian food at reasonable prices. While the interior is a typical Franconian inn, when the weather is good you can sit on the market square or in the inner courtyard. Great carp and carp for the season. For foreigners, the “Franconian friendliness” may take some getting used to - of course not for us 😁. Highly Recommended!

The place was an amazing experience over all, the vibes are of a traditional German restaurant and the decor is very warm and cosy. The food was a treat and the service was impeccable, definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Found this great restaurant while passing through. Very nice and rustic. Very nice service and the food... Simply very good. I didn't have a room so I gave it a full 4 stars. Actually 5 if you only rate what I used.

Although we reserved and the locale was not full, we had to wait more than one hour for the food, not good having children in the group. No explanation for the delay was offered and we constantly were told that the food would arrive soon. The food quality was also not good, indicating that they probably rushed the order even with so long waiting time. It was a deception because I wanted to invite my guests to a typical restaurant and we were all unsatisfied.

We like to sit outside in the summer to enjoy the good food. The scenery all around is like a vacation. The dishes are varied and always delicious. The service is excellent.

I was there yesterday with my girlfriend. It was a successful evening with schnitzel and cordon bleu with fries and a side salad. We didn't have to wait long for food. It really happened very quickly. “Michael” and his team are simply on their toes! We shared our table with two other ladies because it's difficult to reserve an entire table for two people. (It's also logical for me) And so you can meet people and make nice acquaintances. In any case, we really liked it. As a tip, I would always prefer to call ahead to see if there are still places available.

Auf gut Glück hier in diese urige Gastwirtschaft reingeschaut und die sehr nette Dame im Service hat uns unkomplizert aufgenommen und in dem randvollen Lokal noch ein kleines Plätzchen für uns freigemacht, sehr schön! Unser Wahl war eine sehr gut gelungene Kürbiscremesuppe vorab, danach ein Kalbs- und ein Schweinebraten. Das Fleisch von sehr guter Qualität, feine Klöße, perfekt abgeschmeckte Soße, angenehme Portionsgröße. In Summe ein super leckerers fränkisches Essen zum absolut fairen Preis.

Just by chance, we popped into this quaint restaurant and the very nice lady in service welcomed us in without any complications and made a small spot for us in the restaurant, which was full to the brim, very nice! Our choice was a very successful pumpkin cream soup first, followed by roast veal and pork. The meat is of very good quality, fine dumplings, perfectly seasoned sauce, pleasant portion size. All in all, a super delicious Franconian meal at an absolutely fair price.

All dishes were perfect and very tasty. We would like to say thank you to the team and would be happy to come back next time we are in the area.
