Sort of all you can eat concept with themes. You shouldn't come here for the coziness, because it is very noisy. Food was tasty, lots of choice, even game-oriented. And soft drinks are included for 24.99.

The food was quite nice and the dessert too, but it's more something where families come with the whole family or a part. It wasn't very quiet and not a good idea if you want romance 😊

Gladly again. We invited friends for brunch at the Gasthaus Waldachtal. It was a complete success. Nicely set up (we were happy to pay the extra charge of €1 per person for this). The food was really good, fresh and tasty. And the international service team took great care of our well-being

Quietly located, very good food, the staff is always friendly. In the neighboring town there are various themed buffets included with half board. Try it, everything is very tasty.

The buffet was lower middle class. Some of the salads were tasteless, but the game ragout was over-seasoned and the dumplings were a finished product. Likewise, the desserts were all ready-to-mix products, very disappointing.

After we received information from many people that you can have a great brunch here, we decided after a long time to take a picture of it ourselves. The inexpensive offer was always mentioned. The location is spread over two levels. However, on the upper level you only get the "breakfast version" and on the lower level you get an enlarged breakfast menu where lunch dishes are also available later. However, we only discovered this later. Unfortunately, we weren't very impressed with the food itself. Sure, it's super inexpensive and it's probably good value for money, but ultimately it wasn't to our taste and we were hoping for something different. What is very pleasant is the possibility that the table can be reserved for you. So you can sit outside and take a walk from time to time or go to the playground with the children and then sit back down comfortably at your table later.

Today we were at the Christmas buffet at the Gasthof Waldachtal. Super friendly staff who welcomed us warmly and were on our toes the whole time. The buffet was very nicely prepared and offered something for everyone. The food was great, the buffet was constantly being replenished. The price was absolutely right. We will come back, then at the American Buffet.

Went to the American buffet with a group of 8 people. Unfortunately the price was overpriced for the food on offer. It's also a shame that there is no Diet or Zero Coke on offer for this price. Were not 💯% satisfied with the evening. 😔😔😔 Improvement possible upwards 👌☝️

Really unbeatable for the price. The food was delicious and very filling. The transition from breakfast to lunch also went smoothly. Despite the full house, the service is very quick and committed. You should be there at 10 when it opens, otherwise there will be no parking space left. We'll be back

Update November 25, 2024 We've been there for brunch for a while now. In my opinion, there is now more emphasis on quantity rather than quality when it comes to food. It's also very stupid that this time we were sitting upstairs in the large hall. There are not all the dishes like below. In other words, if you wanted everything, you had to run downstairs every time. We only noticed this because we were having breakfast and were wondering why everything wasn't there. When we asked a waitress about it, she simply said that they had 400 guests there today. If we want the other things, we can just go downstairs to get them. No sign indicated this. It was also very warm and stuffy up there due to the large window front. This was reinforced because the heaters were running at full strength in the beginning. When the sun came out, no awning/roller shutter was at least partially extended. In order to be able to tolerate it to some extent, you had to tilt the windows. There are also far too few parking spaces for this large number of cars, so there is a bit of traffic chaos when you arrive. This is also due to the fact that there is only one official arrival time. A note for people with limited mobility. There are no wheelchair parking spaces and, as far as I have seen, no disabled-accessible toilets. You also have to either walk up a few steps (approx. 20 to 30 meters in altitude) from the parking lot or up a correspondingly steep path to the side. There are no stopping points on this path, it climbs continuously steeply. In other words, not suitable at all for wheelchairs, walkers or similar. --- We were there for brunch. Very large and varied. There are soft drinks for breakfast. You can also go for a walk every now and then without the table falling into disrepair. The only negative thing was that all of the main courses advertised for lunch, apart from the fish, were replaced by other things. There were more side dishes to choose from.

I didn't like the food, so I won't go there anymore.

We booked a double room and a single room including half board at the end of October and were very happy with our choice of hotel. The stains from the dead spiders/flies on the walls/ceiling could have been painted over again (but there were only 2 of them). In the bathroom, the holder for the cosmetic mirror was apparently pulled over the wall several times, which left unsightly black marks on the wall. A clever building technician could have covered this up with little effort. As a married couple, we had a double room with a completely transparent glass door to the bathroom. Even though we know each other well and have no secrets from each other, we found that very unpleasant. Each of us would like to have our privacy in the toilet area. We hung the bathrobes in front of the door.... If we had complained to reception, we would definitely have been given another room (also a bit of our own fault!). The carpet in the hallways is past its prime and would certainly appreciate a thorough cleaning. It already has several stains that look very unsightly to guests. We were actually quite satisfied with the buffet, but a significant disadvantage is the waiting time when training participants come to dinner in larger groups. The training participants are given preferential treatment because all tables in the buffet area are reserved for them. We had seats at the back of the restaurant, so we always had a little further to go to the buffet. But it was a little quieter in the area. The fitness room and sauna in the main building are in good condition and highly recommended. The swimming pool in the guest house/adjacent house only has a water temperature of approx. 25°C. If you don't expect it, you'll be quite surprised. Once you're in the water after a warm shower, the water temperature is suitable for swimming! The sauna, the wellness area and the relaxation area are nicely designed and invite you to linger. All the employees were friendly, nice and quick. On my birthday, the serving robot sang me a song (unfortunately a children's song - but it's the thought that counts) and a blueberry muffin with a candle was brought to me. The blueberry muffin should have been taken out of the freezer a little earlier, it was still partially frozen on the inside (perhaps a few seconds in the microwave would have helped it warm up) We were happy with our stay at the hotel, otherwise we would have complained on site.

Gasthof Waldachtal has become one of our favorites. The staff is very friendly and well organized. When it comes to food, a big compliment to the kitchen. Everything we've had so far has always been very good, whether it's brunch or dinner. We are happy to take the longer journey and look forward to something new every time we are there.

We were there today to test the American buffet. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this further. Unfortunately, the food had little to do with America. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were dry and you didn't notice that they apparently came from the smoker. The pulled pork tasted very salty, as if it had been made in gravy. Of course I could be wrong but that's just how it tasted. Unfortunately, BBQ sauce wasn't even offered. Just like the “cheese pasta” I don’t know if that’s supposed to be like “Mac & Cheese” since that’s typically American, but it was just penne in a cheese sauce. What does this have to do with America? Unfortunately, many things tasted like frozen goods and so even the nuggets and wings weren't crispy, but rather limp. Unfortunately, the service with the short hair wasn't very friendly either. And it seemed rather mushy at times. Apart from the fact that we had to drive an hour for this, we all left very disappointed. Maybe a good restaurant, but if I can't cook American food then I shouldn't. And the highlight was that 4 out of 5 people had stomach problems the day after!! Of course the restaurant wasn't interested in this and just said that it couldn't be the fault of your food since they ate it themselves. No thanks, never again!

The buffet was good and the food offered was okay. It wasn't a highlight but the selection etc. was good. For 21.90 including soft drinks from the tap is a great value! Here's what I would do better: + It would be great if there was at least 1 zero drink in the tap. + The furniture is really getting old, either spruce it up or get new ones. There is nothing wrong with the ambience and the location. + I would set up the Burger Station a little differently. The employees constantly had to refill the burgers after 3-5 because of the burger buns.

Booked a wellness weekend, got an overnight stay with breakfast. According to the hotel, the reservation for the massage was not confirmed even though we had confirmation with the date and time. With the statement “Oh, something must have gone wrong” it was done for the hotel!! The rooms and swimming pool look great in the pictures, but only in the rooms!!

We liked it. Very nice employees. Great selection at brunch. Constantly replenished. Most of it tastes really delicious. Were not for the first time! Special thanks to Ms. Frigin from the hotel, who solved our problem really warmly and easily.

The selection at breakfast was really large: pancakes, porridge, scrambled eggs, delicious sausages, ham and cheese, cakes, rolls,... At lunchtime there were snacks: salads and a selection of bread, Schupfnudeln, and cakes. In the evening there was a rich buffet: I chose game, but there was also other meat, fish and a vegetarian selection of dishes.

It was another lovely evening having dinner with three friends in the Wandachtal. A compliment to the cuisine and service. We went home OBS (optimal abdominal tension) full and satisfied. Another visit will follow. Price performance more than ok.

We went to the American buffet. The food was very diverse and delicious. The only thing I missed were pancakes, but that wasn't a bad thing. It was always refilled immediately as soon as something ran out. Children pay less, which is fair pricing. The toilets are clean. I will definitely come back and try out the other buffet offers.

Wir mussten in einer dunklen Ecke ohne Tageslicht sitzen. Das Essen war lieblos und wenig ansprechend dargestellt. Die Qualität ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig, so waren z.B. die Garnelen völlig verkocht und ungenießbar. Die Hauptessen waren geschmacklich überhaupt nicht ansprechend und es gilt offensichtlich Masse statt Klasse. Was uns am meisten überrascht hat: wir hatten einen Brunch gebucht. Ab 12 Uhr mussten wir aber für heiße Schokolade für die Kinder extra bezahlen. Bei 29 Euro und der Bezeichnung Brunch erwarte ich alle Bestandteile von Anfang bis Ende inklusive. Diese "Frühstücks-Regelung" war weder bekannt noch irgendwo mitgeteilt. Abgerundet wurde das Ganze durch schmutzige Teller und Besteck. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis tendiert ins Negative.

Really great restaurant for brunch. We were here to celebrate my birthday with a larger group and everything was really great: from the planning and communication with Ms. Bozicevic, to the delicious food, to the regular refilling of the buffet. We had a really good time!

Went there for brunch today. The food was quite good and there was a lot of choice. Unfortunately we had to scrape on two warm plates in front of the buffet!!! notice. Unfortunately the hunger was over. It was a real shame about that.

Four of us were there for the Young American Buffet during the Whitsun holidays. Without reservation - no chance. I made a reservation and that worked out great. It was full - very full. And yet there was always a supply at the buffet. Everything went well. The taste was good too, and I also think the fact that the drinks are included in the price is great. Except beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks. We were all fed up, no one was disappointed. But it is also very clear that this is not a culinary flight of fancy. It can't be for the money. But every now and then, why not...

The Sunday brunch is really great. The selection, service and the ambience leave nothing to be desired and make you want more or just want to come back. We (married couple) treated ourselves to brunch during our vacation, which we spent nearby. Result: We were thrilled and can only recommend the brunch.

We have been coming here off and on for several years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. But the price remained the same, which is a shame.

Can recommend the inn! Went there with friends for the Black Forest buffet. The price is really awesome. Almost too cheap for what you can eat and drink. Of course, some dishes or things aren't that perfect, but you can't get star cuisine for that money!!! Other themed buffets are also offered!

Great brunch buffet in a pleasant environment. Personally, it was a bit too loud and busy for me. But there is a lot of space and it also invites a lot of people. The buffet wasn't too crowded and the selection of food and drinks was great. The taste and quality of the food were also good. I deducted one star because I found it a shame that breakfast was only available until around 11 a.m. When it comes to brunch, I think it's best if you can decide for yourself whether you prefer breakfast or a warm lunch. The breakfast buffet had to give way to lunch at 11 - a shame because I only arrived shortly before 11 and definitely preferred breakfast, or in this case "late pieces". I think there would be enough space to offer both until the end...

It was really great...a small point of criticism is that there isn't really as much food upstairs as there is downstairs. Otherwise, I think it's better to sit upstairs because there's more space.

We really liked it for the second time

For years, the Gasthof Waldachtal has been offering various buffets for every taste with easy, advance online reservations and a very good price-performance ratio. There is a lot on offer here for the low price. You can also reserve the rooms for a private celebration or have the food delivered by catering.

I used to give a top rating. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with the restaurant and the management. We had ordered catering for a private party. We were even invited on site to discuss everything and signed a contract. So we ordered the invitations, booked the location and were in the middle of planning when we received a brief email in which the event management, some time later, simply canceled us without giving any reason. Unfortunately not very professional, a shame.

We went to the Black Forest buffet on Sunday and were very positively surprised by the quality of the food. The buffet is clean, beautifully presented and there is guaranteed to be something for every taste. The service staff are very attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back.

First of all I have to say, the staff was top, the food was good, plentiful and a good selection. Unfortunately the rooms were small, especially the bathroom, you couldn't fall over in there. On Sunday morning I had to take an ice-cold shower, I'm just a warm shower person. What I found particularly annoying, however, was that on Sunday you were taken with a shuttle to another restaurant, had time there from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and were allowed to eat with about 200 other people. On the one hand, it was very loud and very annoying warm there. Everyone from the region comes together to eat in this restaurant. Back at the hotel, have another nice drink, far from it, there is nothing on Sundays, you either drive somewhere, get something from a vending machine, or go to bed very early.

There are a lot of people there. The selection is good. The staff attentive.

So first of all: the service is really good. The plates, etc. are cleared away quickly, and the employees are very helpful and, despite our complaint about the reservation space, they are nice and helpful. It's also nice to give a good tip every now and then. Now about the food: Unfortunately, that has diminished significantly. In terms of appearance, everything was okay, it looked delicious, but in our opinion it didn't taste like much. Sometimes like nothing at all. We will probably be here for the last time. Unfortunately.

The American buffet has declined significantly. All dishes were cold, meat was tough, partly dry, only the salmon and scampi were edible. The dessert was always very select and was hardly refilled.

We have been eating out in the Waldachtal again for a few years now. This was also the case on Sunday March 3rd, 2024 for the Swabian buffet. The selection is more than sufficient and diverse. The taste was okay too. When it comes to salad selection, too many salads contain corn for my taste. Not everyone likes that. The service staff is friendly and makes sure there is always enough supplies. When ordering special drinks and paying you have to wait a little longer, but this is still completely acceptable. Unfortunately, now we come to the negative point, which is why I'm still very angry and disappointed. I emailed my problem to the restaurant a week ago to clarify the problem. Unfortunately, I have not received an answer or apology to date. Hence, unfortunately, this path. The fish starter really upset my stomach. After just about 20 minutes, I noticed that the food was very heavy on my stomach. I felt extremely full and felt a little queasy in my stomach. As a result, I could hardly eat any of the main courses. The whole Sunday evening and into early Monday morning, the food really bothered me. As I said, I ate very, very little. Until early Monday morning I had to vomit several times and get diarrhea. I felt really bad on Monday, and even very poorly on Tuesday. Besides the starter, I had a ladle of the vegetable soup and a salad bowl with potato salad, carrot & bean salad and green salad. The main course was just a small piece of lamb, a small piece of venison, a few fries and some vegetables. So very little, and I couldn't even eat that anymore. My girlfriend ate pretty much the same thing, only in larger quantities. However, no appetizer with fish and shrimp. She was fine. She had no feeling of fullness or other discomfort. Accordingly, these complaints must have been caused by the salmon, shrimp or trout fillet. It really annoyed me that it turned out so stupidly. Why weren't these things refrigerated? E.g. in the form of ice cream under the tray or in a refrigerated counter? After all, these are highly perishable foods and appropriate measures should be taken accordingly. I know what I'm talking about because I come from the food industry myself. Please check this case. It simply can't be allowed to happen. I am very disappointed about this. Normally we only hear good things about you.
