We were there today to test the American buffet. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this further. Unfortunately, the food had little to do with America. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were dry and you didn't notice that they apparently came from the smoker. The pulled pork tasted very salty, as if it had been made in gravy. Of course I could be wrong but that's just how it tasted. Unfortunately, BBQ sauce wasn't even offered. Just like the “cheese pasta” I don’t know if that’s supposed to be like “Mac & Cheese” since that’s typically American, but it was just penne in a cheese sauce. What does this have to do with America? Unfortunately, many things tasted like frozen goods and so even the nuggets and wings weren't crispy, but rather limp. Unfortunately, the service with the short hair wasn't very friendly either. And it seemed rather mushy at times. Apart from the fact that we had to drive an hour for this, we all left very disappointed. Maybe a good restaurant, but if I can't cook American food then I shouldn't. And the highlight was that 4 out of 5 people had stomach problems the day after!! Of course the restaurant wasn't interested in this and just said that it couldn't be the fault of your food since they ate it themselves. No thanks, never again!

The farmer's and American buffets are absolutely amazing! Great, high-quality food, meat and fish cooked to perfection, a large and varied selection, highly recommended!

The buffet was good and the food offered was okay. It wasn't a highlight but the selection etc. was good. For 21.90 including soft drinks from the tap is a great value! Here's what I would do better: + It would be great if there was at least 1 zero drink in the tap. + The furniture is really getting old, either spruce it up or get new ones. There is nothing wrong with the ambience and the location. + I would set up the Burger Station a little differently. The employees constantly had to refill the burgers after 3-5 because of the burger buns.

Booked a wellness weekend, got an overnight stay with breakfast. According to the hotel, the reservation for the massage was not confirmed even though we had confirmation with the date and time. With the statement “Oh, something must have gone wrong” it was done for the hotel!! The rooms and swimming pool look great in the pictures, but only in the rooms!!

We liked it. Very nice employees. Great selection at brunch. Constantly replenished. Most of it tastes really delicious. Were not for the first time! Special thanks to Ms. Frigin from the hotel, who solved our problem really warmly and easily.

The selection at breakfast was really large: pancakes, porridge, scrambled eggs, delicious sausages, ham and cheese, cakes, rolls,... At lunchtime there were snacks: salads and a selection of bread, Schupfnudeln, and cakes. In the evening there was a rich buffet: I chose game, but there was also other meat, fish and a vegetarian selection of dishes.

It was another lovely evening having dinner with three friends in the Wandachtal. A compliment to the cuisine and service. We went home OBS (optimal abdominal tension) full and satisfied. Another visit will follow. Price performance more than ok.

We went to the American buffet. The food was very diverse and delicious. The only thing I missed were pancakes, but that wasn't a bad thing. It was always refilled immediately as soon as something ran out. Children pay less, which is fair pricing. The toilets are clean. I will definitely come back and try out the other buffet offers.

Really great restaurant for brunch. We were here to celebrate my birthday with a larger group and everything was really great: from the planning and communication with Ms. Bozicevic, to the delicious food, to the regular refilling of the buffet. We had a really good time!

Went there for brunch today. The food was quite good and there was a lot of choice. Unfortunately we had to scrape on two warm plates in front of the buffet!!! notice. Unfortunately the hunger was over. It was a real shame about that.

Four of us were there for the Young American Buffet during the Whitsun holidays. Without reservation - no chance. I made a reservation and that worked out great. It was full - very full. And yet there was always a supply at the buffet. Everything went well. The taste was good too, and I also think the fact that the drinks are included in the price is great. Except beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks. We were all fed up, no one was disappointed. But it is also very clear that this is not a culinary flight of fancy. It can't be for the money. But every now and then, why not...

The Sunday brunch is really great. The selection, service and the ambience leave nothing to be desired and make you want more or just want to come back. We (married couple) treated ourselves to brunch during our vacation, which we spent nearby. Result: We were thrilled and can only recommend the brunch.

We have been coming here off and on for several years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. But the price remained the same, which is a shame.

Can recommend the inn! Went there with friends for the Black Forest buffet. The price is really awesome. Almost too cheap for what you can eat and drink. Of course, some dishes or things aren't that perfect, but you can't get star cuisine for that money!!! Other themed buffets are also offered!

Yes definitely. Our direct service was a bit unfriendly and listless and probably doesn't want children. But the rest of the staff was really nice and helpful. The food was really great. There was a huge buffet with a lot of choice. I would love to come back.

Great brunch buffet in a pleasant environment. Personally, it was a bit too loud and busy for me. But there is a lot of space and it also invites a lot of people. The buffet wasn't too crowded and the selection of food and drinks was great. The taste and quality of the food were also good. I deducted one star because I found it a shame that breakfast was only available until around 11 a.m. When it comes to brunch, I think it's best if you can decide for yourself whether you prefer breakfast or a warm lunch. The breakfast buffet had to give way to lunch at 11 - a shame because I only arrived shortly before 11 and definitely preferred breakfast, or in this case "late pieces". I think there would be enough space to offer both until the end...

Everything went very well! Our children, grandchildren and we felt very comfortable.

It was really great...a small point of criticism is that there isn't really as much food upstairs as there is downstairs. Otherwise, I think it's better to sit upstairs because there's more space.

We really liked it for the second time

For years, the Gasthof Waldachtal has been offering various buffets for every taste with easy, advance online reservations and a very good price-performance ratio. There is a lot on offer here for the low price. You can also reserve the rooms for a private celebration or have the food delivered by catering.

I used to give a top rating. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with the restaurant and the management. We had ordered catering for a private party. We were even invited on site to discuss everything and signed a contract. So we ordered the invitations, booked the location and were in the middle of planning when we received a brief email in which the event management, some time later, simply canceled us without giving any reason. Unfortunately not very professional, a shame.

We went to the Black Forest buffet on Sunday and were very positively surprised by the quality of the food. The buffet is clean, beautifully presented and there is guaranteed to be something for every taste. The service staff are very attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back.

First of all I have to say, the staff was top, the food was good, plentiful and a good selection. Unfortunately the rooms were small, especially the bathroom, you couldn't fall over in there. On Sunday morning I had to take an ice-cold shower, I'm just a warm shower person. What I found particularly annoying, however, was that on Sunday you were taken with a shuttle to another restaurant, had time there from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and were allowed to eat with about 200 other people. On the one hand, it was very loud and very annoying warm there. Everyone from the region comes together to eat in this restaurant. Back at the hotel, have another nice drink, far from it, there is nothing on Sundays, you either drive somewhere, get something from a vending machine, or go to bed very early.

There are a lot of people there. The selection is good. The staff attentive.

So first of all: the service is really good. The plates, etc. are cleared away quickly, and the employees are very helpful and, despite our complaint about the reservation space, they are nice and helpful. It's also nice to give a good tip every now and then. Now about the food: Unfortunately, that has diminished significantly. In terms of appearance, everything was okay, it looked delicious, but in our opinion it didn't taste like much. Sometimes like nothing at all. We will probably be here for the last time. The American buffet has declined significantly. All dishes were cold, meat was tough, partly dry, only the salmon and scampi were edible. The dessert was always very select and was hardly refilled.

We have been eating out in the Waldachtal again for a few years now. This was also the case on Sunday March 3rd, 2024 for the Swabian buffet. The selection is more than sufficient and diverse. The taste was okay too. When it comes to salad selection, too many salads contain corn for my taste. Not everyone likes that. The service staff is friendly and makes sure there is always enough supplies. When ordering special drinks and paying you have to wait a little longer, but this is still completely acceptable. Unfortunately, now we come to the negative point, which is why I'm still very angry and disappointed. I emailed my problem to the restaurant a week ago to clarify the problem. Unfortunately, I have not received an answer or apology to date. Hence, unfortunately, this path. The fish starter really upset my stomach. After just about 20 minutes, I noticed that the food was very heavy on my stomach. I felt extremely full and felt a little queasy in my stomach. As a result, I could hardly eat any of the main courses. The whole Sunday evening and into early Monday morning, the food really bothered me. As I said, I ate very, very little. Until early Monday morning I had to vomit several times and get diarrhea. I felt really bad on Monday, and even very poorly on Tuesday. Besides the starter, I had a ladle of the vegetable soup and a salad bowl with potato salad, carrot & bean salad and green salad. The main course was just a small piece of lamb, a small piece of venison, a few fries and some vegetables. So very little, and I couldn't even eat that anymore. My girlfriend ate pretty much the same thing, only in larger quantities. However, no appetizer with fish and shrimp. She was fine. She had no feeling of fullness or other discomfort. Accordingly, these complaints must have been caused by the salmon, shrimp or trout fillet. It really annoyed me that it turned out so stupidly. Why weren't these things refrigerated? E.g. in the form of ice cream under the tray or in a refrigerated counter? After all, these are highly perishable foods and appropriate measures should be taken accordingly. I know what I'm talking about because I come from the food industry myself. Please check this case. It simply can't be allowed to happen. I am very disappointed about this. Normally we only hear good things about you.

German bourgeois buffet, very tasty, especially the fish and game. Also very good fries.

Lots of parking spaces. Great playground and good opportunities for a little walk every now and then. Unobtrusive service. Prices very moderate. Any time. 😋

We were there for brunch, it was great, there was really nothing left to be desired, for what is on offer 28 euros per person is more than reasonable. You should make a reservation, we will definitely come back more often

Der Gasthof waldachtal ist ein im wunderschönen Schwarzwald gelegenes Restaurant. Wir wurden zum Brunch eingeladen. Das Buffet war reichhaltig, qualitativ sehr hochwertig und unglaublich lecker. Leere Behälter wurden sofort vom freundlichen Personal aufgefüllt. Auch wenn sie viel zu tun haben wenn alle Tische besetzt sind, hatte sich ein besonderes freundlicher Mitarbeiter die Zeit genommen meiner kleinen Tochter einen "Zaubertrick" vorzuführen. Klasse! Die Umgebung des Restaurants läd zu einem Verdauungsspaziergang im Wald ein. Im Sommer können die Kinder draußen u.a. auf einem Trampolin spielen. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Mir hat etwas die Weihnachtsdekoration gefehlt. In dem Raum in dem wir waren war gar nichts. Essen sehr gut und es gab auch am Schluß noch Desserts, das kannte ich von früheren Besuchen anders. Service sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Es war ein super schwäbisches Buffet, für jeden von uns war etwas dabei. Besonders müssen wir das selbstgebackene Brot erwähnen es war mega. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Restaurant ist in einem altmodischen Stil eingerichtet, das eine sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre ausmacht. Das Buffet war sagenhaft! Wir waren heute zum Young american Buffet eingeladen und können es nur weiterempfehlen! Leider wurden wir von einer sehr unhöflichen und unfreundlichen Dame bedient. Frau H. hat bei uns abkassiert und selbst nach der Rückfrage meiner Frau, ob es heute ein stressiger Tag gewesen ist, kam von ihr nur "eigentlich nicht! ". Als Gäste haben wir uns sehr unwohl gefühlt von ihr bedient zu werden. Fazit: das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, der Küchenchef ist freundlich und zuvorkommend aber der negative Kritikpunkt geht an den Service, wie oben bereits erwähnt wurde.

Waren zum Young American Buffet Essen war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Das Buffet wurde immer wieder schnell aufgefüllt. Service war sehr gut, und freundlich. Leere Teller wurden schnell abgeräumt. Alles lief, trotz vieler Gäste, reibungslos. Werden bestimmt wieder kommen. Vielen Dank für das leckere Essen.

Der Sonntags Brunch von 10-14 Uhr kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Ich habe das verschenkt und sowas kommt immer gut an. Ein sehr schöner Standort oben auf dem Berg unten kann man sein Auto abstellen. Gibt auch einen Wintergarten und drin war es sehr gemütlich. Die Sitze waren etwas unbequem. Am Tische wurde schon Kaffee und Milch parat gestellt. Die Essensauswahl war gigantisch groß von Rührei mit Speck bis Joghurt, Obst, Müsli, Marmeladen und zum Mittag gab es Rind, Schwein, Garnelen etc. Der süße Gaumen wird mit verschiedenen Desserts nicht vernachlässigt. Es gibt noch andere brunchs, die man dort machen kann. Komme gerne wieder.

Sehr leckeres Fischbuffet. Die Bedienungen haben immer wieder frisch nachgelegt. Es gab über 15 verschiedene warme Fischgerichte, kalte Vorspeisen, ganz viele unterschiedliche Beilagen, Salate und über 10 verschiedene Nachspeisen. Es war richtig lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!!

Die Auswahl beim Amerikan Buffet war schon mal größer. Aber ausreichend um ordentlich satt zu werden. Service ist freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Waren jetzt das 2. Mal hier und sind genauso begeistert wie beim letzten Mal. Wellnessbereich ist ordentlich und Entspannung ist geboten. Leider hatten wir nur kaltes Wasser zum Duschen im Zimmer... Das Problem wurde nicht behoben nur verschoben.

Wir waren letzten Samstag Abend beim Fischbüffet...es war sooo gut . Soo viele verschiedene Fischarten,gedünstet, gebraten,geräuchert, als Pastete, gegrillte Gambas, Garnelen Cocktailsalat,Flusskrebsfleisch mit Avocado,viele Gemüsebeilagen,auch 2erlei Fleisch für Nichtfischfans. Winziger Minuspunkt beim Dessert: Creme brüle war wässrig und nicht gestockt, Tiramisu war wiederum zu trocken. Ansonsten alles perfekt. Toller Service an den Tischen. Wir kommen wieder!!

Das Frühstücksbuffet ist hervorragend, viel Auswahl. Kaffee sehr gut.

Wir waren schon mal dort und da war es lange nicht so übervoll wie heute. Beim ersten mal war das essen deutlich wärmer und besser.

Wir sind auf einen Geburtstagsbrunch gekommen. Das Buffet war sehr lecker. Es gab viel Auswahl, es war immer frisch und geschmacklich sehr gut. Zwischen dem Frühstück und dem Mittagessen lohnt es sich einen kleinen Spaziergang im Ort zu machen.
