Unfortunately, the American dinner lacked authentic American flavor. The selection of American dishes wasn't extensive. The appetizers had nothing to do with American cuisine. Dessert was rather meager. The fries and onion rings, however, were very crispy and really good 👍

The burgers were cold, and unfortunately, so were other dishes. The shrimp and salmon were overcooked. The service was amazing.

We often go there for the breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings. From 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, you can eat whatever your heart desires with a pre-order. Dogs are also welcome. Just mention it when making your reservation. We'll definitely be back.

The first time was really lovely, in the downstairs dining room. The ambiance, service, and food were perfect… The second time, we were sent upstairs. The service was terrible. The buffet was tiny, not even half the selection offered in the downstairs room. The ambiance was okay, but the food was awful this time. It was nothing like the first time. Maybe again sometime, but not in the upstairs room.

A fantastic buffet on a Sunday evening with venison, salmon, duck, and much more. The potato salad was incredibly delicious. Everything else was great too. It's a shame they didn't refill the desserts; they all looked so tempting. I take a long time to eat, and there was only fruit, ice cream, and pudding left. But I was still able to eat some melon, and the ice cream was great. Next time, I'll definitely reserve a chocolate cake at the beginning; the others at the table said it and the tiramisu were amazing. We'll definitely be back.

The location is great, and the staff is super friendly. The food, on the whole, is there to fill your stomach, but unfortunately, that has little to do with enjoyment. We went for the American buffet. I thought the buffet largely missed its mark. Perhaps a maximum of 20% American-inspired dishes were offered. The salad buffet was a wild mix, and the tacos on the menu weren't there either. Generally, it lacked seasoning or was too salty. I also found it tricky that there was no refrigerated section. I think things like cheese and some salads should also be refrigerated in the buffet. Too bad... I can't share the enthusiasm of the others.

We went there for the American buffet on Saturday evening. Definitely recommended! Very tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere. Attentive service, so the food was promptly replenished. We'll definitely be back and next time we'll bring stretchy pants.

We've been here twice within a short period of time. The first time, we were thrilled. Everything was perfect. The meat was tender, etc. That's why we came back a second time. Yesterday, we were so disappointed. Less selection, the meat was dry, and the taste was definitely not as good as the first time. But the chef was also different. We left pretty quickly yesterday because it wasn't good. Everything was always refilled immediately when something ran out. Plenty of choice from appetizer to dessert. Drinks included, except for alcoholic drinks or coffee.

Absolutely recommendable! We ordered our wedding buffet there. From start to finish, it was completely hassle-free, and all our requests were fulfilled. Even a last-minute change was handled without a hitch. Mr. Frank was an outstanding contact person who was there for us around the clock. The food was absolutely delicious! We were there for brunch. There was a wide selection, and everything tasted good. Homestyle cooking, but nothing special. Overall, though, it was good value for money. I was a bit surprised, though, when breakfast was cleared away after about an hour (at least upstairs). I would have preferred a longer breakfast buffet...

Unfortunately, it's steadily declining; far too many people and therefore far too loud; it's anything but cozy. The burgers are terrible and everything is cold, spare ribs are dry and flavorless, and the whole fish is a mess after 5 minutes. Next attempt at the Black Forest Buffet 😱 Unfortunately, the pork loin was so dry in the sauce that it was inedible, and it took forever to refill it; the flavor was too much. All in all, too expensive for the meager offerings. Meal for 4 + 1 for €134, unfortunately there are other options. Third attempt in four weeks, unfortunately ruled out.

The food was good. The staff seemed a bit "challenged," but they were always friendly and pleasant. A little more than just showing the table would have been nice, for example, where the buffet was located, how the drinks worked (free help at the buffet... discovered by chance). We sat at our table, perplexed at first. The ambiance was very tidy and clean. However, there was no sign or feel of the Caribbean Night theme anywhere. The quality of the food, however, more than makes up for it.

Bringing 210 bikers from the I.M.A./L.A.M.A. to dinner isn't exactly easy. But they managed it brilliantly here. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.

We were there for a company outing for the first time in a while. Both the breakfast buffet and the American buffet in the evening were plentiful and delicious. All the colleagues I spoke to also had very positive comments. Ten years ago, we had catering from here for a private party, and we still have fond memories of it. :-)

The Sunday Brunch is amazing. You will need to reserve way in advance but if you want to experience German food at its best, this location is the one. All you can eat breakfast at 10am and then they switch to the lunch menu around 11:30 to 11:45. Pace yourselves allowing you to taste all the different foods.

We had made a reservation for four people and were able to be seated immediately upon arrival at 5:00 PM. The buffet featured regional specialties from the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), which was the evening's theme. This restaurant often changes its buffet theme, sometimes focusing on international cuisine, but this time it highlighted local flavors. The food was delicious, offering a wide variety of choices including meat, vegetarian, and even a few fish dishes like salmon. I appreciated the diversity—it catered well to different dietary preferences. While most of the food was very tasty, the venison and chicken were slightly overcooked and a bit dry. However, this was a minor issue in an otherwise very satisfying meal. Soft drinks and water were included in the price of €24.99 per person, and you could eat as much as you liked between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. For the quality and variety offered, it was excellent value for money. There was also a dessert buffet with around eight different sweet treats to choose from, which was a great way to finish the meal. Nothing too fancy, but certainly enjoyable. The restaurant was moderately busy during our visit—not overcrowded, but clearly popular. The interior was simple and pleasant, not luxurious but perfectly fine for a comfortable dinner setting. What really made a difference was the staff: they were friendly, spontaneous, and cheerful, which contributed to a welcoming atmosphere. All in all, I definitely recommend Gasthof Waldachtal if you’re in the area. Just make sure to book a table in advance, as it can fill up quickly, especially during themed buffet nights.

It was very good, only there were a lot of people and every table was a different company and therefore very loud. As a comparison, you felt like you were in your train station hall. Food was very good, there was a large selection and the staff was also very helpful. It's for people who eat a lot, so it's worth it. Nevertheless, thanks to the inn... Really great inn, the American buffet is simply incredibly delicious. It was crazy how fine and extensive the buffet was. From soup to ribs, pullet pork, potato, ribs, scampi to antipasti and dessert. The employees were all very friendly and nice, it was easy to talk to each other. We were there because we were staying at the Waldachtal Hotel. We were able to use the shuttle service, which was really well organized.

We were at the “American” buffet. The food was uninspired and bad, not seasoned, not well presented and that has nothing to do with America. The atmosphere in the store is terrible, it is musty and the buffet is not well presented. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant with this buffet.

I went for Sunday brunch. The selection was huge and it was always refilled when something threatened to run out. The quality also left nothing to be desired. The service was very friendly and professional. The only thing that bothered me was the ambience. The background noise in the winter garden was very high and everything seemed a bit cool. Since the rush was very high, this could hardly be avoided. All in all, a clear recommendation.

We have already tried every type of buffet and the verdict from all four of us is consistently good. There is always something for everyone and there is a wonderful selection of changing soups, salads, main courses and of course great desserts, as well as delicious farm ice cream. The boss is always very friendly and greets you nicely when you arrive. We also find the price unbeatable and hope it stays that way for a long time. So you can finally go out to eat again as a family, especially since many types of buffets include soft drinks from the buffet. There is still a deduction. Unfortunately, we had very unfriendly, older service the last two times, so we just need a break, you don't have to go through that. So far it has actually always been very nice thanks to the young staff.

The buffet was lower middle class. Some of the salads were tasteless, but the game ragout was over-seasoned and the dumplings were a finished product. Likewise, the desserts were all ready-to-mix products, very disappointing.

After we received information from many people that you can have a great brunch here, we decided after a long time to take a picture of it ourselves. The inexpensive offer was always mentioned. The location is spread over two levels. However, on the upper level you only get the "breakfast version" and on the lower level you get an enlarged breakfast menu where lunch dishes are also available later. However, we only discovered this later. Unfortunately, we weren't very impressed with the food itself. Sure, it's super inexpensive and it's probably good value for money, but ultimately it wasn't to our taste and we were hoping for something different. What is very pleasant is the possibility that the table can be reserved for you. So you can sit outside and take a walk from time to time or go to the playground with the children and then sit back down comfortably at your table later.

Today we were at the Christmas buffet at the Gasthof Waldachtal. Super friendly staff who welcomed us warmly and were on our toes the whole time. The buffet was very nicely prepared and offered something for everyone. The food was great, the buffet was constantly being replenished. The price was absolutely right. We will come back, then at the American Buffet.

Really unbeatable for the price. The food was delicious and very filling. The transition from breakfast to lunch also went smoothly. Despite the full house, the service is very quick and committed. You should be there at 10 when it opens, otherwise there will be no parking space left. We'll be back

Update November 25, 2024 We've been there for brunch for a while now. In my opinion, there is now more emphasis on quantity rather than quality when it comes to food. It's also very stupid that this time we were sitting upstairs in the large hall. There are not all the dishes like below. In other words, if you wanted everything, you had to run downstairs every time. We only noticed this because we were having breakfast and were wondering why everything wasn't there. When we asked a waitress about it, she simply said that they had 400 guests there today. If we want the other things, we can just go downstairs to get them. No sign indicated this. It was also very warm and stuffy up there due to the large window front. This was reinforced because the heaters were running at full strength in the beginning. When the sun came out, no awning/roller shutter was at least partially extended. In order to be able to tolerate it to some extent, you had to tilt the windows. There are also far too few parking spaces for this large number of cars, so there is a bit of traffic chaos when you arrive. This is also due to the fact that there is only one official arrival time. A note for people with limited mobility. There are no wheelchair parking spaces and, as far as I have seen, no disabled-accessible toilets. You also have to either walk up a few steps (approx. 20 to 30 meters in altitude) from the parking lot or up a correspondingly steep path to the side. There are no stopping points on this path, it climbs continuously steeply. In other words, not suitable at all for wheelchairs, walkers or similar. --- We were there for brunch. Very large and varied. There are soft drinks for breakfast. You can also go for a walk every now and then without the table falling into disrepair. The only negative thing was that all of the main courses advertised for lunch, apart from the fish, were replaced by other things. There were more side dishes to choose from.

We booked a double room and a single room including half board at the end of October and were very happy with our choice of hotel. The stains from the dead spiders/flies on the walls/ceiling could have been painted over again (but there were only 2 of them). In the bathroom, the holder for the cosmetic mirror was apparently pulled over the wall several times, which left unsightly black marks on the wall. A clever building technician could have covered this up with little effort. As a married couple, we had a double room with a completely transparent glass door to the bathroom. Even though we know each other well and have no secrets from each other, we found that very unpleasant. Each of us would like to have our privacy in the toilet area. We hung the bathrobes in front of the door.... If we had complained to reception, we would definitely have been given another room (also a bit of our own fault!). The carpet in the hallways is past its prime and would certainly appreciate a thorough cleaning. It already has several stains that look very unsightly to guests. We were actually quite satisfied with the buffet, but a significant disadvantage is the waiting time when training participants come to dinner in larger groups. The training participants are given preferential treatment because all tables in the buffet area are reserved for them. We had seats at the back of the restaurant, so we always had a little further to go to the buffet. But it was a little quieter in the area. The fitness room and sauna in the main building are in good condition and highly recommended. The swimming pool in the guest house/adjacent house only has a water temperature of approx. 25°C. If you don't expect it, you'll be quite surprised. Once you're in the water after a warm shower, the water temperature is suitable for swimming! The sauna, the wellness area and the relaxation area are nicely designed and invite you to linger. All the employees were friendly, nice and quick. On my birthday, the serving robot sang me a song (unfortunately a children's song - but it's the thought that counts) and a blueberry muffin with a candle was brought to me. The blueberry muffin should have been taken out of the freezer a little earlier, it was still partially frozen on the inside (perhaps a few seconds in the microwave would have helped it warm up) We were happy with our stay at the hotel, otherwise we would have complained on site.

Gasthof Waldachtal has become one of our favorites. The staff is very friendly and well organized. When it comes to food, a big compliment to the kitchen. Everything we've had so far has always been very good, whether it's brunch or dinner. We are happy to take the longer journey and look forward to something new every time we are there.

We were there today to test the American buffet. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this further. Unfortunately, the food had little to do with America. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were dry and you didn't notice that they apparently came from the smoker. The pulled pork tasted very salty, as if it had been made in gravy. Of course I could be wrong but that's just how it tasted. Unfortunately, BBQ sauce wasn't even offered. Just like the “cheese pasta” I don’t know if that’s supposed to be like “Mac & Cheese” since that’s typically American, but it was just penne in a cheese sauce. What does this have to do with America? Unfortunately, many things tasted like frozen goods and so even the nuggets and wings weren't crispy, but rather limp. Unfortunately, the service with the short hair wasn't very friendly either. And it seemed rather mushy at times. Apart from the fact that we had to drive an hour for this, we all left very disappointed. Maybe a good restaurant, but if I can't cook American food then I shouldn't. And the highlight was that 4 out of 5 people had stomach problems the day after!! Of course the restaurant wasn't interested in this and just said that it couldn't be the fault of your food since they ate it themselves. No thanks, never again!
