Gasthof Kupferschmiede in Chieming

We went there for dinner. The food is homely, southern German cuisine. The portions were reasonably large. At first, the waitress didn't serve us, perhaps they overlooked us. After that, it was perfectly fine. The restrooms could have been cleaner. The restaurant is located right next to a busy street. There are various seating options in the beer garden. Unfortunately, we sat on simple folding wooden chairs, which become uncomfortable after a short while.

I went there and ordered food and drinks. Nice and friendly service. The ice cream sundaes were delicious. If I'm there again, I'll go to SEEside. Top

I've known the Kupferschmiede for 50 years and was amazed today at how much it's changed. I got some food, and it was fantastic! Super delicious, keep up the good work!

This was my second time here – once with friends, for dinner and a long chat, followed by dessert, cappuccino, and later a long drink. The second time was with my husband and our two elementary school children, for dinner in the beer garden on a holiday. We expected it to be busy, and it was, but since we arrived relatively early in the late afternoon, there were still plenty of seats available, and we could choose between sun and shade. There's a small playground, and the children were immediately given a children's menu with puzzles and coloring pages, plus crayons, so everyone was happy. The food is first-class; everything looked and tasted perfect, the portions were more than sufficient, and they were happy to pack up any leftovers. The prices are absolutely reasonable, especially the children's dishes, which are very affordable yet still large enough for big eaters. The menu selection is clear and beautifully curated, and the daily specials complement it perfectly. Despite being very busy, the staff was very friendly and cheerful, sharing funny jokes with the children and with us. They obviously know how to treat guests here, which is exactly how it should be. We'd love to come back. Thank you.

We stopped for lunch on our bike tour around Lake Chiemsee. The service was quick and friendly. The portions were large and the food was delicious. A lovely Bavarian beer garden.

I had the best pork knuckle here in ages – wonderfully crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, simply perfect! The lunch menu is also a hit: super delicious dishes at really fair prices. The atmosphere is cozy, the service friendly – ​​highly recommended!

If you are in the suburbs, be sure to visit.

We went to the restaurant, which is practically right on Lake Chiemsee (just the road between them). The restaurant is located at the entrance to Seebruck, coming from Chieming/Ising. It's very nice from the outside, with a large beer garden. I used to live very close by; back then, the "Kupferschmiede" (coppersmith) was the motorcycle meeting place, often with 50 mopeds parked outside. Now there are only a few. Great food, friendly service. We had asparagus, which was delicious. We'll be back soon 👍🏻🌷☀️

Inn: A great inn that's been around for a long time. The beer garden is lovely, and the small playground for children is also great. The food is very good. One star deducted for the spectacle that bicycles aren't allowed in the beer garden, which probably happens dozens of times a day. A small sign with a warning would suffice.

We stopped to spend the night at the campsite opposite. The inn was calling to us. And we came. Numerous bikers and cyclists were here. We had decided on a seat. Very comfortably furnished and the tiled stove was my highlight. We were greeted very warmly and friendly and taken to the table. Our waitress was super nice and personable. The food, which surprised us, comes very quickly. Well, it was very tasty 😋. We had the crusted roast and the wheat beer goulash, with a side salad and cucumber salad. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarrn. Everything is delicious and plentiful. All in all a great pub. KEEP IT UP.

Location: ... direct connection to the street by the lake... plenty of parking spaces available. Reduced daily rate for motorcycles. Very good value for money, friendly staff. We would love to come back.

It used to be called Kupferschmiede and is still a biker meeting place on Lake Chiemsee. Had a currywurst with fries that was ok, but the sauce tasted like a finished product, which I don't want to complain about, but I know you can do better.

Well, there are better inns in the area. The schnitzel is good, but the onion roast is very small and too expensive. The place should be left to motorcyclists and day tourists.

Dear SEEside team, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your family hospitality! A huge compliment to the kitchen for the best pork knuckle I have ever eaten, coupled with the great service it was a perfect evening.

We visited the restaurant and it was really excellent. The fact that a Rhinelander's sauerbraten tastes almost better than at home is more than unusual. But the fish and roast were also excellent.

A very nice restaurant located right on Lake Chiemsee. I was here for dinner during the week. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and prompt. I also found the value for money very good. I highly recommend it.

As always, a wonderful stay with excellent Bavarian cuisine. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and enjoyed the outdoor area with my brother, who is in a wheelchair. He hasn't been there in at least 20 years. I love this place, the food, and the people. We all really enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed the food.

Prices are mid-range. Special dishes are on the daily menu. My wheat beer goulash was very good and reasonably priced at €15, including a great side salad. The waiter was very friendly. We had a lovely evening.

I visited here with my son and was positively impressed by the wonderfully relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. My meal was very tasty; I just wish the goose leg had been crispy baked :) My son had cheese spaetzle and was really looking forward to it, but left half of it because he thought it was tasteless. We were there today, Sunday... 7 tables in the beer garden were occupied. The waiter saw us... and in 30 minutes, he couldn't even bring the menu to the table, let alone take our drinks. An older gentleman at the other table was also completely ignored. I then asked the manager, who said he was the only restaurant on Lake Chiemsee open today 🤣🤣🤣 (he probably wished it were). Thank goodness it wasn't. As we left, he said if we didn't like it, we'd just have to leave. We did... No wonder the employees are so unfriendly, if the boss sets such a standard!!

Great bike meeting place, excellent honest cuisine. Nice outdoor dining area, even if it's packed with fast service. We always enjoy going there. The only thing that bothers you are the extremely loud bikers who think noise gets them recognition. It's January and we are again completely satisfied with the catfish and lots of wonderful remoulade. The cordon very good. Dark Augustiner looks like more but the driver's license... Thanks to the innkeepers compliments on the kitchen.

We were in the restaurant, super friendly service. The food was decent in terms of quantity, but...the meat tasted good, as did the dumplings. But the soup's sauces and broth were not homemade. Anyone who likes flavor enhancers and canned mushrooms (in the dish with cream mushrooms) is in good hands here. For me it was too much of a good thing.

We had our Christmas party there and everything was perfect. Cake, food and service were top. Thank you for that. We'll definitely come back (if we're allowed ;-))

We stayed at the Kupferschmiede campsite. The restaurant was our first address for food during this time. The food was super tasty and served quickly. There are typical local dishes. The service was quick, very accommodating and always friendly, even when there were a lot of guests. A clear recommendation.

I've never eaten such a crispy crust from roast pork in my life....sooo delicious....we actually only wanted to stay one night while traveling through....I think we'll stay another night, just because it's delicious Food and the extremely friendly service...I felt welcome from the first "Hello". Thanks for the culinary experience. We'll definitely come back again. Price-performance is completely okay...if it tastes good, I'll happily pay for it

I was there with a friend for beers and dinner on a Saturday evening. It was almost full. Thank God we had reservations. The furnishings are a very tasteful mix of charmingly rustic and modernly functional. The dining room is angled, which is very good for the acoustics. Even when the restaurant is full, you can have a great conversation at the table without having to shout at each other. The Bavarian service was extremely friendly, natural and courteous. The excellent food is the icing on the cake. I had the pork belly pictured with potato salad. The meat was so tender and yet juicy that you could easily have eaten it with just a spoon. We'll be back!

Best restaurant and cuisine in the area. To be able to create and maintain this quality of food despite tons of tourists is simply great! Regardless of the heat and the amount of customers, the serving staff is super fast, friendly and always with a smile on their faces. Particularly noteworthy is René, the man is so passionate about what he does, he is simply brilliant! To be served by a waitress like him is simply an honor for the customer and enriches your day and makes a visit to a restaurant an unforgettable experience. Cozy restaurant with lots of seats. The only reason for the 4* is because we had to say "yes, come here and let's order" and the naysayers came and went. I hope there will be no problem with this next time and then the extra 1* will come. The food was brought out quickly, everything was hot and very nicely prepared👌😋 It is worth booking a table❗️ - there could be 2 pieces of the turkey fried meat, if they already brought 2 pieces of the pork ☝️☺️ (discrimination⁉️🤣) In summary: we ate well, drank well and had a good time 👌🤗 I recommend it❗️💪☺️

June 22: Unfortunately the menu on the internet is not up to date. What we would have liked to eat was no longer on the menu in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the dish of the day was already over. Card payment was also not possible due to the device not working, even though we specifically requested it in the afternoon.

The food is good but unfortunately the service is a complete disgrace... We sat there for 25 minutes without even being looked at, while others arrived later than us and were already being served. So conclusion: Food is good but the service is unfortunately completely bad...

A nice pub right on the street with plenty of space to sit outside. We did the Chiemsee bike tour 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️ and stopped here for dinner 🍴. The price/performance ratio is good and the service is quick and friendly. The food was very tasty 😋 A break there is worth it 🍻🍴 ideal for motorcyclists and cyclists 🚴‍♀️

Fine inn, especially for motorcycle riders. It's always busy, but you can always get a seat. The food tastes very good and is absolutely reasonable in terms of price. I've been there several times now and it's always been good.

Nice garden restaurant. Service so-so-so. After asking for the third time, I received the wrong one...). Small mixed salad was good. The Swabian plate I received disappointed me. The spaetzle was tasteless, watery. The pork pieces were rather dry. The breaded pork schnitzel was good.

I just ate there, very good restaurant, then as now....however, I would have hoped for a little more mushroom soup with the mushroom soup and the fried bacon cubes, otherwise it tasted like it used to :)

Kässpätzle were cheese buttons and definitely not homemade. Surbraten with a side dish wasn't bad either. Both not really hot but quite ok. Side salad to pay extra. Generally a bit expensive for the quality.

Went to the coppersmith's shop as part of our family trip. We were all able to enjoy great food. Super fresh, tasty and plentiful. My highlight: half the pork knuckle. Service was prompt, professional and received special praise for its flexibility. We'd love to come back.

The food at Seeside is very good. The service staff are always in a good mood and friendly. You don't have to wait long for your food, even if it's full. There are seats inside (very comfortable) and in the beer garden. A reservation is an advantage, it is very busy in the evenings.

We had dinner here in the evening while we were on holiday here over Pentecost. Very pleasant beer garden, pleasant atmosphere and good service. The food was excellent and came lightning fast (10 minutes). At the time of Pentecost there was asparagus, very tasty. We'd love to come back when we're nearby 😊

I was with you at Easter, ordered the "pink roasted rack of lamb" and I have to say that it was quite possibly the most delicious dish I have ever eaten in my life 😊 There is also a great atmosphere in your restaurant 👍 I would like to conclude Thank you to the young man who served us (I think he was the owners' son), these days it's rare to see young people working with so much enthusiasm and willingness.
