Looks great, a typical Bavarian beer garden. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a seat for two, even though 80% of the seats were free. We could have eaten at the snack bar, but the prices put us off. So we went somewhere else.

We had a wonderful evening at the Chiemsee Wirtshaus: great food, a wonderful selection of drinks, and very friendly and cheerful service. The location is a dream. What was truly rude, however, were the other vacationers; they had no understanding of why a table should be reserved at a vacation spot and a restaurant right on Lake Chiemsee. The guests were so pushy and inconsiderate. It's insane what the staff put up with.

I would be ashamed to serve such food. The price would be reasonable if the quality and, above all, the food had been fresh. Not recommended. What a shame!

The food was delicious, I have to say, and the service was very friendly. Since we were there at lunchtime, it took a while, but it wasn't a problem. The atmosphere inside and outside was really nice. We'll be back.

Four of us went to dinner at the Chiemsee Wirtshaus this evening. We had already eaten there on vacation last year. Four different dishes. Everything was absolutely excellent. The portions were very generous and generous. Very fresh, absolutely delicious. 5 out of 5 stars. Perfect service, very friendly. You feel truly welcome. I highly recommend it. If the weather is good, be sure to book a table outside; it's a great location. Lots of events, simply fantastic. We'll be back. The food and prices are also absolutely top-notch.

We visited the inn several times during our vacation. Luckily, our vacation apartment was right next door. A professionally run establishment, the entire team impressed us with their relaxed and warm, yet also obliging, friendliness. The selection and quality of the food was also excellent. We enjoyed every visit!

We went there for dinner with 13 people. The service was super friendly, and the food was prepared quickly, despite the beer garden being packed, a christening, and a wedding. All the dishes were delicious, and the value for money was definitely good.

We were at the Chiemsee Wirtshaus on the occasion of our dad's 88th birthday on May 4th, 2025 - and it was a completely successful visit! The service was extremely friendly and attentive, we were warmly welcomed and well looked after. The food was excellent: from crispy chicken to a juicy schnitzel to tender roast pork - everything was freshly prepared and very tasty. We were impressed by the ambience: modern and at the same time rustic and cozy – just a place to feel good. The location directly on Lake Chiemsee is fantastically beautiful. Next time – hopefully in warmer weather – we would like to sit outside in the inviting beer garden. A big thank you to the entire team – we will definitely be back!

I really liked the location and the ambience. The first order went really quickly and so did the food and it was very tasty. However, we sat in front of our empty glasses for probably 15 minutes. We would have liked something more to drink...

I have known the Chiemseer-Wirtshaus, formerly Unterwirt, for many years. Yesterday I went to the inn for the first time in a long time and was thrilled. Great and exceptionally renovated and remodeled. Friendly staff, a young, fresh new tenant brings enthusiasm and power to this old traditional restaurant. In summer the garden is exceptional and recommended. The hotspot in Chieming. We were thrilled and would love to come back. Good luck for the future 🥰

We had dinner in the beer garden with 12 people on Saturday and it was really great. Food very tasty. Menu great selection, service great and great location whether inside or outside! Will definitely come more often now!

The food tastes good, but unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not as good as what you get outside. You can tell that the prices are adjusted to the tourists and the service is unfortunately sometimes very uncoordinated. But the location is very nice.

The Chiemseer Wirtshaus actually has a great location and good food in a beautiful beer garden under the trees not far from the lake. Unfortunately the music, loud 70's and 80's pop, is annoying and doesn't fit the ambience. Unfortunately, the food came a little late, about 40 minutes after ordering.

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre drinnen wie draußen. Nettes Servicepersonal, tolles Essen und zügiger Service. Absolut empfehlenswert. Fast wären wir aufgrund der vielen negativen Bewertungen nicht hingegangen - was ein echter Fehler gewesen wäre!

We were there for dinner with a relatively large group. The service was extremely friendly and special requests were taken into account (in our case, that the youngest child could get his food as quickly as possible so that the mood doesn't change 😜). Very tasty food and friendly waiters/waiters!! Tried Vitello Forello today, incredibly tasty, highly recommended! There's always something special on the menu that you can't find in other restaurants, but there are still normal standard dishes. And for vegetarians there is something different like always cheese spaetzle, e.g. Bowls, peppers with Saitan etc. Really good! What is also worth highlighting is the great children's play area!!

We were at the last girls' market! We ordered cheese dumplings there. When paying, the price asked differed significantly from the menu. The rest was only refunded reluctantly. There was no apology from the waiter. Portion was also small and nothing special. We didn't want to complain about this. But now! When we tried to register at the next girls' market in the inn, we didn't get a place. At first it said on the website that the booking was on February 1st, 2025. When we asked by email it said that we should book ourselves on the website. But the function didn't work at 8 a.m.! Suddenly at 9:30 a.m. it said it was now fully booked. We then called there and the lady on the phone actually said that the ordering function was activated at 9 a.m. and that everything was fully booked within 15 minutes. We don't believe that! In fact, all places were probably already fully booked. By the way, the exhibitors' offerings aren't that great either. We can only warn against visiting and trying to take part there!

Unusual! Rooms authentic, super cozy and smartly equipped. Great price-performance ratio. Food - just awesome, fresh, super delicious Bavarian cuisine. The ambience 80 m from Lake Chiemsee is incredible and even in winter the beer garden is decorated for Christmas and you can sit around fire bowls.

The restaurant scores with its location and a nice ambience. Both in the beer garden and in the restaurant. So much for the positive arguments... Unfortunately, the service is very inattentive and the menu is small (which is generally not a negative thing). However, the food doesn't seem freshly prepared either. I can't recommend the burgers that are available to assemble there on Fridays.

Quaint inn, good location right on Lake Chiemsee. Friendly service staff, despite a lot of guests on Saturday evening. Online reservation worked well. We were even able to change our table in the inn and sit at the window facing the beer garden. Hearty Bavarian dishes. Pork knuckle was very good, as was Wiener schnitzel. Relatively small menu, so we didn't have to wait long for our food. The Chiemseer Wirtshaus in Chieming is really recommended.

Great lakeside location! Unfortunately the menu is very traditional - there is little choice of vegetarian options. I had the daily dish Zuericher Geschnetzeltes of veal with bread dumplings - unfortunately the meat was very hard and not at all tender. Ambiance but nice - service also friendly.

We ate there twice during our vacation. The food was always super tasty. The waitresses were all very friendly and you could tell that they were allowed to work and didn't have to. The Bavarian evening on Thursday was particularly beautiful. Recommendation

Very tasty, there is a small play area outside for children. Even though we didn't have a reservation and everything was already reserved, a place was still organized.

Been there twice during our vacation. We had reserved our table online beforehand. The portions are big enough and it tasted very good. Even the children's portion of schnitzel was very large. Here, at the daughter's request, the fries were replaced with potato salad. The service was very friendly and accommodating both times. If we are there again we will definitely come back.

Restaurant is located in the center. Menu is not extensive, but there is plenty of choice. Food was good. We ate there several times. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, the service friendly and helpful. I recommend everyone to eat here.

We have come together here for a family reunion from 3 continents. It is incredibly embarrassing and really a shame when the following is true: * the rooms are very small (not a holiday apartment as booked) * Kitchen is very poorly and pointlessly equipped (all rooms had other items). * Various things (garbage, pacifiers, apples, etc.) from other guests could be found under the couch, and conveniently also the TV remote control. * the beer garden at the back is so loud that you can't open the windows - so in the summer it's so stuffy and hot in the room that you can't sleep. Not even the child! * But at the front is the main street - you can't sleep there either. * the room wasn't cleaned once in 7 nights!!!! We checked several times, but the towels were changed once. * the restaurant downstairs is ok, but the service has its Upper Bavarian charm - i.e. tourists are not welcome!!! Very unfriendly - just looking for a tip but not wanting to provide the service in return. Our recommendation: look for something clever!! Every campsite offers more! Strangely enough, there is no one who feels responsible. There is only communication via What’s App… this person responds very sporadically.

We ate and drank in this inn on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 on our return journey from Tyrol. Was very tasty. But when I paid, the waiter was very focused on my tip. The amount was 64.20 euros and I then said 68.00 euros to which I gave him a 50.00 and a 20.00 euro note, then he said he couldn't give it out. When I took the 20 euro note again and put down a 10 euro note and 7.50 euros in change he said but they said 68.00 euros. (insolence)

This is our third stopover on the way to Croatia. Reserved online for the first time while on the go 👍 The food is wonderful - we've eaten schnitzel with potato salad every time. The service is very friendly and quick ☺️ There was also a musical entertainment program, which we always enjoyed. The location is great - inside and out. The toilets are clean. Price increase in the last 3 years is minimal 👍 Unfortunately there are a lot of mosquitoes, but that has no influence on the restaurant rating 😂 I can't judge the hotel/room, we have our own bed. Thank you very much and probably see you next summer, provided our holiday destination is the same ☺️

We spontaneously called there today and got a table for 5 p.m. Please reserve in advance as it is very busy. The staff is very nice and accommodating, drinks and food are brought quickly (depending on the number of visitors). A small deficiency: I didn't have enough sauce😉 (fun, I'm from Franconia and I need a lot of sauce for my toilet😉). It was very nice and we will recommend it and come again.

A dream! The inn and the beer garden are always worth a visit! Here, holiday/day guests as well as locals😁 come together in the town center of Chieming and are pampered by a very motivated, friendly team. Many great events round off the normal operations in summer and winter (Bavarian evenings, parties for over 30s, Christmas market, and much more). Keep it up!!!

Great boss and team. You can easily hold events here. But the cozy beer garden is also always worth a visit. I have recommended the rooms several times. They are chic and comfortably furnished.

Since we had already pulled up roots today because no one served us and left us standing, we asked an employee if we could have a table for two people. He told us he had no more capacity so we could leave. Anyone who runs a shop like this has to deal with a lot of guests under this name. We're never coming back! That's not how a restaurant runs... Very bad... It's a shame you can't give no star. We then went to the Oberwirt in Chieming, highly recommended.😏

Very unfriendly staff! We (2 adults + 1 child) were simply turned away at 8:15 p.m. without asking whether we wanted food or drink. We were told that the kitchen would close at 8:45 p.m. and there wouldn't be any free tables anyway. But there were still at least two tables available that should have been reserved. It can't be that way if no one can order anything anymore because the kitchen closes in 30 minutes! Absolute impudence!

Die Speisen war absolut köstlich, kein 08/15 Biergarten Essen, teils ausgefallene Gerichte und gut abgeschmeckt. Große Portionen, regionale Produkte, sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Wunderschöner Biergarten, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Ich kann die schlechten Bewertungen absolut nicht nachvollziehen.

We wanted to fortify ourselves with an iced coffee in the shade after a bike ride in the beautiful garden. Two thirds of the garden was empty, but we were only allowed to sit at a single specific table. After asking if we could sit in another place that would have been more shaded, we refused on the grounds that you can only sit where there is cover. After asking about ice cream, we were simply told chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Apparently there is no ice cream menu. When I asked if there was an iced coffee, the “nice” waiter said rather harshly, “I can do that too.” Two iced coffees were ordered, but unfortunately it wasn't even possible to order a glass of tap water with them. We were very surprised about all of this. But the crowning glory was the iced coffee for €8.90. We have never received such a horrible iced coffee anywhere. The waffle roll was tough, probably ancient, the ice cream in the coffee, which didn't taste like coffee, had to be searched for and the ice cream was mostly water ice crystals. The best part was the whipped cream with the few chocolate chips on top. Once and never again this inn!!!!

We got a place in the inn without a reservation, despite there being a larger celebration. The young man at the entrance with a cap and tattoo made everything possible. Everyone was super friendly despite the great stress, and the food was a poem. We need something like that in Hamburg!

Location very good! It's easy to get anywhere on foot, but you can also get anywhere quickly from here by car. The rooms are very clean and tidy. The service is great. Special praise goes out to the restaurant staff! Incredible beer garden with great beer, straight from the tap and a schnitzel like you could only dream of. We stayed in an apartment. The size was sufficient and there were enough appliances for cooking. Our room floor was not cleaned upon arrival. However, this was made up for the next day. The location is excellent. A few minutes walk to the lake and located right in the town center. The beer garden invites you to linger. It was possible to get gluten-free food. The only important thing is that there is NO separate deep fryer for gluten-free fries (we asked the kitchen again specifically for us). The portions of the food are very large and you will definitely be full. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked really good. We can highly recommend the accommodation and also the beer garden.

The review concerns the restaurant. The restaurant decor is pleasant and the selection of dishes is large. The waiters who served us were rude, and the waiter, after pointing out the order in which the dishes were served (we were served soup and a main course at the same time), became downright aggressive, throwing the plate on the table instead of putting it down and allowed himself to comment that he could take away dish and I will leave without dinner. I asked for the manager, who tried to calm down the situation and offered a meal at the restaurant's expense, but we didn't take it. Foreigners are treated differently here than Germans, which is sad.

Dear chef from the Chiemseer Wirtshaus, note: A good schnitzel is fried in clarified butter and the breading does not fall off 2/3 of the meat!

We had booked a company outing for 100 people to Lake Chiemsee with a final stay at the Chiemseer Wirtshaus. Due to the nice weather, the celebration took place in the beer garden (surprisingly, no mosquitoes). Everything we booked came to the point as agreed, the starters, the food, the service deserve 10 stars! Everything, everything was super, I have rarely seen my women and men so happy. Many thanks to the “Chiemseer Wirtshaus Team”, you gave us a successful evening.

Great gas farm in the center of Chieming. Beautiful beer garden with live music and public viewing. We recommend the Viennese style schnitzel.

We were recently passing through and had lunch at the Chiemsee Wirtshaus. The food was super tasty and came without a long wait. The service was also impeccable. The beer garden is very cozy and there is a wide range of games, especially for children. But what I have to particularly emphasize is the extremely friendly willingness to help. Our daughter had forgotten her favorite cuddly toy in the beer garden and they immediately sent her home to us free of charge. Really extremely accommodating!!!

Been a guest there twice and had the same problems both times, no tables for walk-in customers, only reserved tables, not enough staff when the beer garden was full, staff who forgot their orders and at the EM 24 opening game there was still live music until 9 p.m. + guests the tables to the music and to have reserved public viewing. Big cinema! Prices are also high, comparable to upscale restaurants.

Dear owner, what characterizes a so-called beer garden in Bavaria? I'll tell you: go there, see if there's anything available, order a beer, maybe there'll be a pretzel or something similar, and enjoy. What did things look like for external people yesterday? Half of the tables are free, you are not allowed to sit down yourself. In front of us was an older couple from outside (license plate) he was on foot, she was in a wheelchair. When asked for a place, they were told that nothing would happen without a reservation. The gentlemen had to leave again. It happened to us accordingly. Now the question: why does it say beer garden open and welcome at the entrance if that's not the case? I think I will never try there again and I will simply create negative advertising so that this behavior is rewarded. By the way, I have never experienced this in Munich, where there is a staff shortage. There's always a beer and a pretzel. Long live the Upper Bavarian charm

Beautifully furnished inn. Unfortunately the food can't keep up... Price/performance ratio is not right here at all. Our food was carelessly prepared, lukewarm and rather modest in quantity. Due to the size of the “dining room”, it is very loud when the restaurant is busy. Some of the service staff were attentive and friendly, some unfortunately less of both. Unfortunately, the price and ambience promise something here that is not kept "for the guest". We didn't feel comfortable here and won't come here again.
