Cheers to this potato salad. It's worth a visit for that alone. Such a great potato salad. Wonderfully delicious. And the rest of the salad was also super tasty. Everything else (schnitzel, for example) was also delicious. You can have a great meal here. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. We'd love to come back.

We had the Swabian platter there and were absolutely thrilled. The value for money was very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We managed to snag two seats on Saturday evening. The service was very friendly, and you immediately felt welcome. We had spare ribs and pork loin with spaetzle. The food was truly excellent. The ribs were tender as butter. The loin was cooked to a tender pink. Fans of Swabian cuisine will definitely get their money's worth here. The side salad was also crisp and fresh. We'll be back!

We've been there twice during our vacation! Once we had roast beef with onions and once we had an extra-large schnitzel! We're thrilled every time! Keep up the good work!

I can recommend the Wirtshaus Krone to everyone. The service was super friendly, the food (spaetzle with light sauce for the kids, broth with Fädle (a kind of fried mushrooms), and Maultauschen (a kind of chanterelle mushroom) with salad) was delicious and plentiful, and the value for money was excellent. It's also a great place to eat with children, as they have three children's dishes on the menu and are very child-friendly, and no one seems to mind them. We sat outside in the courtyard on a mild summer evening, and that was also very nice and cozy. Everything outside was beautifully decorated.

Swabian specialties, top-notch cuisine! We'd gladly return. Inside: rustic, cozy and modern, outside: nice and shady, even in summer, and comfortable seating. Highly recommended, too. Recommend: Roast Beef (one of the best) and Cordon Bleu

Unfortunately, the boss doesn't know what gluten is, which is sad for a restaurant owner. But if you're not allergic, you can eat well here. Don't ask what's gluten-free, though, because the boss doesn't know what gluten is. I wonder if this is a restaurant owner or a semi-skilled worker. If this is the boss, I wonder how he can run this place.

The food was delicious and served super quickly. We arrived 20 minutes before closing time and were warmly welcomed. A true delight.

Six hungry stomachs were thoroughly filled on XL Schnitzel Day. Excellent service! Attentive! A second plate was even brought when we said we couldn't finish the schnitzel alone. Top service! Top food! We'll be back.

Quite inconspicuous from the outside, the interior surprises with warm colors and beautiful light wooden tables.

I don't understand the bad reviews, but what goes around comes around. We were very satisfied and the service was very friendly. The food was delicious. The price/performance ratio was right. I would recommend everyone reading this to form their own opinion and not rely on grumpy guests. Everyone deserves a second chance. We'll be back 😉

The well-designed, clear menu is dominated by homemade Swabian specialties such as Maultaschen, Swabian onion roast, sour tripe, pork cheeks, etc. There is also a tempting snack platter on it. For vegetarians there are homemade cheese spaetzle. In any case, everyone can find something to their taste here. Beers come from the Gold Ochsen brewery in Ulm, the wine specialties from Collegium Wirtemberg, S-Rotenberg and Uhlbach and, what is very special, the spirits from the Prinz distillery in Hörbranz, Austria. The Steinmeier restaurants are among the few where I eat offal. This time the sour tripe with fried potatoes was on the program.

Very good and very plentiful food. Very well prepared. Nice and quick, good conditions and good service. Prices are fairly cheap to reasonable. Really recommended.

Pleasant pub atmosphere. Delicious Swabian cuisine. Side salad was very tasty and would deserve an extra star. Highly recommended. Good service with friendly staff. We were also able to celebrate our family celebration with over 40 guests as a closed group. From the champagne reception to the previously discussed choice of food to the coffee, we were very satisfied and after the bill with fair prices we would be happy to come back!😀

Man, you feel really comfortable here. The Swabian platter is absolutely divine. I've rarely eaten so well. Great attention to detail. And the service is also very friendly. We'll be back.

Finally!! The crown was recommended to me by friends. There were two of us and we spontaneously got a spot! The restaurant is very cozy and simply furnished. Had the pork cheeks and was completely blown away. However, I would come back just for a portion of spaetzle, they were amazing!😍 They taste like they did back then at Grandma's! While paying we chatted a bit with the landlord, who was very friendly to us throughout the evening. We will definitely come back with reinforcements! (but then with reservation 😉)

We live not far away on the same street and wanted to try the place today. To be sure of getting a table, we called ahead. reserved for 2 people. Hungry and in a good mood, we arrived at the agreed time. However, the reception from the innkeeper was slightly unfriendly. Despite the reservation being made about an hour ago, they didn't really know what to do with us. We immediately had the feeling that we weren't really welcome. Apparently out of necessity, we were assigned a cat table that we didn't like and we politely asked if there was another table. The alternative, which was even worse, was suggested to us with the advice that if we didn't like it, we could go to another restaurant. The store would be full today. As a host, you can also behave and express yourself a little more friendly towards your guests. Every guest, satisfied or not, is a multiplier when it comes to outdoor advertising. Since we do not tolerate such unfriendly and arrogant behavior, we will tell our friends and club colleagues in Köngen about our experience. They can then decide for themselves whether they want to visit the restaurant. We and our family won't do this anymore. Oh well, we then went straight to another restaurant in Köngen, which is close to the Neckar, without a reservation. Even though the shop was packed, we were kindly offered a comfortable place and the evening was saved. So that’s how it goes and pride comes before a fall!

The hand-scraped spaetzle and the pork fillet tasted great. Very nicely renovated location with attentive, friendly and fast service. We would definitely like to come back.

I had already made my reservation for Christmas Day at Maultäschle. When I left there, the innkeeper called me and offered to take over the reservation for the new restaurant, which I agreed to. Called again last week to be fair and reduce the number of people by 1 person. Today they no longer knew about my reservation!! Then stood there with 6 hungry people!!! An apology would have been appropriate!!! Thanks for the dirty Christmas dinner 😡

Very wholesome, delicious food and very nice service

The restaurant is rustic and tastefully furnished with little decoration. The service was ok. The food itself was good, except for the roast roast, unfortunately stringy in places. This can happen, but it shouldn't. Unfortunately there was no small discount for this.

It is now called Wirtshaus Krone and has a new tenant. It's the landlord of the Hasenhäusle in Denkendorf. Very very tasty food. Finally good home-style Swabian cuisine in Köngen again. Good luck

It's a shame, cloth napkins are rarely found in normal restaurants these days. Or at least bigger ones. High prices and often the cheapest napkins. That didn't happen with Ms. Erhard. Gastronomy with style. I hope the successor gets something out of it too.

THE reference roast. The perfect composition of meat quality, timing, really good fried potatoes, REAL melted onions and, last but not least, an ingenious gravy. Over the last decade I have been able to compare the Swabian onion roast in a number of restaurants - but this one - tested several times - takes the crown (pun intended). In an ambience that was considered old-fashioned even in my youth - and that was a long time ago - with wood, slatted windows and retractable room dividers. Maybe that's why it's really cozy in this cute inn. By the way: if you want to eat something other than a roast roast, which is a mistake, you can choose the current, possibly very tasty alternatives from a table.

Beste Küche. Meine Empfehlungen: eigentlich alles. Gut finde ich dass die Karte reduziert ist, aber dafür bestens zubereitet. Zum Beispiel Schwarzwurzelsuppe, Zwiebelrostbrazen, Filet, Creme Brulet. Jeweils einzeln betrachtet einfach super. Deshalb Lob an die Küche und das Top Personal

Bester Zwiebelrostbraten, den wir bisher gegessen haben. Tolles Fleisch, gekonnt gebraten, sehr gute Soße, hervorragende Bratkartoffeln. Alles auf das Wesentliche reduziert, ohne Schnickschnack und künstliche Zutaten. Passend dazu ein sehr freundlicher Service, die unaufgeregte, ebenfalls reduzierte und trotzdem freundliche und angenehme Einrichtung. Danke für dieses besondere Gast-/Gaumenerlebnis!
