ALTE VOGTEI in Köngen

Missgelaunter Chef servierte ein überteuertes Käsefondue. Der vereinbarte Sektempfang wurde nicht angeboten. Das Essen selbst war in Ordnung, es gab aber eine unlogische Menüfolge und eigenartige Proportionen. Zum Verzehr des kleinen, aber guten Dessert wurde ein großen Suppenlöffel serviert. Alles noch einigermaßen akzeptabel. Ärgerlich wurde es aber beim Bezahlvorgang. Der Chef hatte sich verrechnet, wollte es aber partout nicht einsehen und wurde leicht unverschämt. Ich werde dieses Lokal nicht mehr betreten.

Wir waren mittlerweile schon oft in der Alten Vogtei und jeder Besuch war etwas Besonderes. Sei es für ein schönes Abendessen auf der Terrasse, im Sommer mit Freunden in der Strandbar, oder zuletzt am Valentinstag, für ein wirklich tolles 5 Gänge Menü. Von diesem Abend stammt auch das Foto. Die Preise sind durchschnittlich etwas höher, aber dafür bekommt man auch unglaublich gutes Essen. Man merkt, dass hier wirklich alles mit viel Liebe zubereitet wird. Die Alte Vogtei ist definitiv eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants. Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen, es einmal selbst auszuprobieren.

Es sollte ein schöner Valentinstag Abend werden und endet mit einen Rauswurf. Der Abend begann vielversprechend, die Speisefolge zog sich zunächst etwas in die Länge, aber wir waren nicht in Eile. Nach drei Stunden erhielten wir durch eine E-Mail eine Aufforderung, dass Lokal zu bewerten. Wir warteten noch immer auf den Hauptgang, den Hunger hatten wir inzwischen übergangen, erste Müdigkeit stellte sich ein. So nutzen wir die Zeit und begannen unsere Bewertung zu platzieren. Objektiv selbstverständlich, wir würden sie jetzt nocheinmal genau so, allerdings mit der Änderung beim Service auf null Sterne abgeben. Was sich anschließen seitens Herrn Hoffmann abspielte, hat uns in diesem Moment überfordert. Auf Grund unserer Bewertung wurden wir unangemessen aggressiv, in aller Öffentlichkeit beschimpft und aufgefordert das Lokal sofort zu verlassen. Auf mehrfachen Hinweis, wir möchten das bezahlt Essen noch serviert bekommen, wurde uns ein zerknüllter 20€ Schein auch den Tisch geworfen. Daraufhin haben wir das Lokal verlassen und werden es vermutlich nie wieder betreten. Insta und Co. Werbung ist nicht alles. Ein guter Service und Umgang mit den Gästen wäre besser!

Ein Juwel vor der Haustür. Ein Gang besser als der andere. Das Dessert war die Krönung - farblich und geschmacklich. Das Ambiente war auch wunderbar. Wie waren bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mal da 🫶

Das Essen ist wirklich ein Hoghlight. Der Chef steht selbst im Laden - man merkt wieviel Herzblut hier drinnen steckt. Der Laden ist urig, schön! Seh gemütlich !

Ich habe für ein Abendessen mit europäischen Arbeitskollegen einen Tisch für 10 Personen über die Homepage angefragt. Nach drei Tagen wurde meine Reservierung durch eine automatische Email bestätigt. Als wir am geplanten Abend in der Alten Vogtei ankamen, wurden wir direkt an der Türschwelle abgewiesen. Vom Besitzer wurde mir sehr ablehnend mitgeteilt, dass für uns nicht eingekauft wurde und demnach kein Essen verfügbar wäre. Die Begründung lautete, dass ich keine Menüauswahl getroffen hätte und ich am Vortag auch nicht telefonisch erreichbar gewesen wäre. Weder auf der Homepage noch in der Bestätigungsmail wurde etwas von einer Menüauswahl erwähnt, die ich hätte treffen müssen. Ebenso wenig hatte ich Anrufe von der Alten Vogtei erhalten. Zum Glück fanden wir im Restaurant gegenüber einen freien Platz und konnten dort einen schönen Abend verbringen. Ich habe viel später am Abend gesehen, dass ich zwar am Vortag spätabends tatsächlich eine automatische Stornierung erhalten habe, diese jedoch aufgrund des sehr straffen Arbeitstags leider nicht gesehen hatte. Ich hätte mir gewünscht, dass uns zumindest die Möglichkeit gegeben worden wäre, dennoch a la Carte zu bestellen oder was an dem Abend vorrätig gewesen wäre. Das Gefühl jedoch vermittelt zu bekommen, als Gast nicht willkommen zu sein und abgewiesen zu werden, führt leider dazu, dass ich die Alte Vogtei nicht empfehlen kann und sie für zukünftige Arbeitsessen nicht mehr in Betracht ziehen werde.

Extrem gut. Ein MUSS wenn man dort in der Gegend ist.

Durch Insta Werbung für den portugiesischen Abend wurden wir aufmerksam auf dieses historische Lokal in Köngen. Ohne Erwartungen haben wir uns auf diese kulinarische Reise in einem uns unbekannten Restaurant eingelassen und wurden so was von überrascht. Ein junger Koch mit Sterneniveau und Sterneerfahrung, mit emotionaler Küche setzt um, was er denkt und fühlt. Ein Träumchen, was man unbedingt unterstützen sollte. Kein Koch der nach Schema F zubereitet. Ein spannender Abend, der neue Bekanntschaften bereitet hat, und da die Gruppe unerwartet klein war, hat er kurzerhand eine Küchenparty daraus gemacht. Hut ab für diese Spontanität und danke für diesen zauberhaften Abend. Was er neu umsetzen möchte, und wofür wir auch brennen, ist eine planbare Küche. Wenn man reserviert gibt es entweder ein Menü oder man bestellt quasi vorher was man haben möchte, 24h davor. Wer es nicht tut wird storniert. Eine Ressourcen schonende Küche. Keine Abfälle, planbarer Personaleinsatz... man kauft ein was man braucht, und das absolut frisch und nix aus der TK. Seit Corona ist es eh üblich vorher zu reservieren, sollte also auch umsetzbar sein. Absolut ein Macher. Ich hoffe sehr, dass die Schwaben dafür Verständnis haben und diese kulinarische Reise die er immer wieder durch verschiedene Events zeigen möchte, annehmen und erleben und somit einem Koch mit Leidenschaft die Chance geben existieren zu können. Kochen ist nicht nur ein Beruf sondern Berufung und Leidenschaft wie jedes Handwerk, was er definitiv hat. Ein Tipp: Bessere Sichtbarkeit vor Ort, ein auffälliges Schild und gute Beleuchtung sind essenziell. Bis bald. EventTipp: Wunschkonzert - Fisch, Fleisch oder Vegan zum Auswählen, als Wunschmenü, kommen und genießen und für die Zukunft Wünsche äußern - Brainstorming für das Lokal - quasi ein Blatt an jedem Tisch für Lob und Tadel und Ideenvorschläge, dann erfährt man, was die Menschen bewegt. Kam mir gerade in den Sinn :)

Wir hatten Glück - ohne Reservierung haben wir noch einen Tisch bekommen (Mittwoch 19:30) und wurden freundlich empfangen. Die "Alte Vogtei" ist liebevoll eingerichtet und für Weihnachten dekoriert, im Hintergrund läuft leicht verdauliche Jazzmusik und natürlich das wichtigste: einzigartig leckeres Essen! Wir wurden mit gleich zwei Grüssen aus der Küche beglückt: 'Waldpilz-Consomme' im Glasröhrchen und 'Ochsenbäckchen mit luftiger Hollandaise und Schnittlauch' in stylischer Eierschale (siehe Bild) - echt ein Wow-Moment: Zuerst der warme 'Pilz-Shot' gefolgt von der weichen, cremigen Textur der Hollandaise - dann plötzlich Fleisch, Umami, Tiefe, - moderne, kreative Küche! Und die Hauptspeise kommt ja erst noch 😊 Ein wenig konservativer haben wir uns für den 'Zwiebelrostbraten mit schwäbischem Ravioli und handeschabten Spätzle' entschieden - das Fleisch medium wie gewünscht, hervorragende dunkle Soße die sehr gut mit dem Rind und der Maultasche 😉harmonierte - zusammen mit den Spätzle - ein Gedicht. Um das tolle Essen abzurunden hatten wir noch 'hausgemachte Apfelküchle mit Kirschkompott und Calvados mit eiskalter Vanille'. Es war ein rundum gelungener Abend mit exzellentem Essen und zuvorkommender Bedienung - nicht das letzte Mal 👍

Ein tolles, gemütliches Restaurant in einem kleinen verwinkelten Haus und das Essen ist köstlich. Was will man mehr? Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal hier essen und waren sehr begeistert. Das Essen war schmackhaft, schön angerichtet und wirklich ein Genuss. Am heutigen Abend dauerte die Zubereitung des Hauptgangs etwas länger, war aber noch im Rahmen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Solch eine gute Küche in einem so schönen Ambiente bekommt man nicht immer.

Sehr bemühter Wirt Marcel, dem man sein Gespür für heimeliges Ambiente und sehr gutes Essen sofort abnimmt. Man spürt sofort die Liebe zum Detail. Auch die anderen Mitarbeiter geben ihr bestes und so hatten wir zu viert einen wunderschönen Abend mit sehr guter Betreuung. Unsere absolute Empfehlung, wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Fiair und Atmosphäre sehr schön, auch ein nettes Personal, alles schön eingerichtet und es gab sogar Lagerfeuer.Ein kleiner Abzug (was eigentlich meckern auf Hohen Niveau ist) das Essen war nicht richtig warm, aber es könnte daran gelegen haben das wir im Außenbereich gesessen sind und es frisch war, das zum schnellen Abkühlen vom Essen führte. Klare Empfehlung!

Place to be in Köngen - die Vogtei ist ein Schmuckstück! Besonderes Essen in einem tollen Ambiete. Wir liebes es dort! Das Personal rund um Marcel ist super. Alle sind jederzeit freundlich und zuvorkommend. Hier gibt es kein 0815 essen sondern eben etwas Besonderes. Wir überlegten lange, wie wir unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit ausklingen lassen können - und da kam uns die Vogtei. Wir hatten unglaublich Glück mit dem Wetter und konnten den Abend auf der Terrasse verbringen. All unsere Gäste als auch wir waren rundum begeistert und so hatten wir einen perfekten Abschluss von diesem besonderen Tag mit einem unglaublich schönen Ambiente, leckeren Cocktails und tollen Tapas der besonderen Art!

Heute beim Mittagstisch - sehr lecker,netter Service, tolles Haus. Den letzten Stern gibt es wenn ich weitere Gerichte gegessen habe und diese ebenso gut sind.

Toller junger Pächter, mit hervorragender Küche. Wir waren zu zweit da, haben unter anderem Zwiebelrostbraten nach Berliner Art, Parmesansüppchen auch zum empfehlen. Das nächste mal kommen wir mit unseren Söhnen. Empfehlenswert!!!!

Das Restaurant selbst ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, mit einer warmen Atmosphäre, die zum Verweilen einlädt. Insgesamt ein absolut empfehlenswerter Ort für Genießer und alle, die Wert auf Gastfreundschaft und kulinarische Klasse legen.

Ein Ort, der alle Sinne berührt Dieses Restaurant ist weit mehr als ein Ort zum Essen – es ist ein Erlebnis voller Raffinesse, Hingabe und Geschmack. Das Menü beeindruckt mit kreativen, fein abgestimmten Gerichten, bei denen jede Zutat ihre Bühne bekommt. Ob Fisch, Fleisch oder vegetarisch – alles ist perfekt zubereitet und kunstvoll angerichtet. An der stilvollen Outdoor-Bar werden außergewöhnliche Cocktails serviert, die nicht nur überraschen, sondern auch perfekt mit der Location harmonieren. Der Service ist herzlich, aufmerksam und professionell – präsent, ohne jemals aufdringlich zu sein. Was diesen Ort so besonders macht, ist die Liebe zum Detail: Man spürt sie in jedem Bissen, in jeder Geste, in jedem Augenblick. Egal ob man drinnen oder draußen sitzt. Fazit: Ein phänomenales Gesamterlebnis – kulinarisch wie atmosphärisch.

Ambiente stimmig, Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Aber das Essen war eine große Enttäuschung. Meine Begleitung hatte Rostbraten mit Maultäschle, sehr salzig. Meine Ochsenbacke war total versalzen. Wir essen beide gerne gut gewürzt, aber halt nicht versalzen. Nach Reklamation beim Personal wurde vom Chef ausgerichtet, das sei normal. Mir wurde eine andere Ochsenbacke angeboten, mit dem Hinweis, die sei genauso. Darauf habe ich verzichtet. Es ist für mich nicht nachvollziehbar, warum ein Ersatzgericht nicht weniger gesalzen werden kann.Und dann die Wartezeit. Nach der Vorspeise bis zum Hauptgericht 55 Minuten. Das ist in keinem Restaurant akzeptabel. Schade! Wir hätten in diesem angenehmen Lokal gerne eine positive Erfahrung gemacht.

The first impression was very positive: a pretty old half-timbered house, the stylish decor to match, and a friendly welcome and service. Unfortunately, the food was more than disappointing, starting with the appetizers. The salad, with its strange-tasting dressing, and the Vogt egg were also not impressive. The two main courses, which were served 55 minutes after the appetizers, were extremely oversalted. It was a shame about the roast beef and the small Maultasche (small pasta pocket), as the salt overpowered all the flavors. However, the oversalted ox cheeks were inedible; my companion had to send them back. We both like our food well seasoned and tend to add more seasoning, but this was inedible. The waitress tried to offer alternatives (coffee, second dessert, wine, etc.), which should have been the responsibility of the chef, who didn't show up. It's a shame to spoil a lovely evening we were looking forward to.

I can only recommend it!! The service is great 😸 I'd say it's a trendy place where young and old meet. Cocktails and food #verygood 😌

Everything just fits here! The cozy ambiance enchants you as soon as you enter the historic building. The extremely friendly service quickly puts you at ease and makes you look forward to a delicious evening. But what good is the best ambiance and the friendliest service if the food isn't up to scratch? But don't worry. The ambitious chef sets the bar high right from the starter and maintains it all the way through to dessert. Truly delicious. And the accompanying wine pairing makes the culinary experience unique. And the chef personally checks whether guests are satisfied. What more could you want? And what more is there? We've been there three times and are happy to give it full marks three times, and we look forward to the next time.

Great. Very friendly service in a very friendly atmosphere, with great Riesling. Beaked salmon as a starter, gnocchi and cod as a main course, both completely recommended, and a chocolate cake for dessert (an absolute dream) accompanied by one of the best Rieslings we have tried so far. Absolutely recommended.

After our civil wedding we were able to celebrate in the Alte Bailiwick. The coordination with Mr. Hoffmann was smooth and uncomplicated in advance; he responded to all requests and allergies. The very high quality 4-course menu plus aperitif with snacks was incredibly tasty and beautifully presented! Thanks to him and his team, we had an unforgettable day - and due to the weather we were even able to spontaneously have our champagne reception on the terrace. We would celebrate there again at any time and can only recommend the Alte Bailiwick to everyone :-)

The food was excellent not only in terms of flavor, but also in its balance and finesse, as well as its sophisticated craftsmanship. My highlights: the Mediterranean veal boiled fillet, the Vogt egg, and both desserts (flamed tonka bean cream and apple strudel dessert). I'd be happy to return!

I always enjoy coming to the old bailiwick because the old building and the furnishings are simply super rustic and I always wonder who has been in this building (at least 450 years old). Everyone is very attentive and accommodating, with every course and in between they ask if everything is still OK and for me that is absolutely the highest level. For me, the dishes are very upscale and there are also vegetarian dishes on the same level. The Vogt Egg is my favorite of the starters. Whether you choose the menu or the onion roast, you will be thrilled. Yesterday I drank a super ingenious non-alcoholic aperitif, which was prepared alcohol-free on request. It not only spoiled my palate but also my nose. Thanks I always enjoy coming back and the prices are acceptable to me. Thank you to the entire team

A unique and rare culinary highlight. I celebrated my birthday here and it was a wonderful evening from start to finish! Everything was lovingly decorated. The food was incredibly tasty and the service was also excellent. This is not only a restaurant with pure heartfelt cuisine, but also a characterful event location. Gladly again soon. Thank you dear Old Bailiwick!

Unfortunately the evening was a complete disappointment. We sat upstairs, where it was so cold that we were forced to keep our jackets on. The starter - a field salad - was inedible because it was completely over salted. The main course took 90 minutes to arrive and was then served ice cold. The taste would have been quite convincing if it hadn't been cold. Unfortunately there was no opportunity to complain about the course immediately as the service was completely absent. It wasn't until 15 minutes after we finished eating that someone from the staff finally came. Our complaint was settled with an espresso “on the house” – a questionable compensation worth two euros for four cold dishes. Everything went wrong at the next table too. Conclusion: A visit that we will certainly not repeat.

Very nice old building in the middle of the city. It was our first time here and we weren't from the area. Inside, the restaurant is quite small and simple, it wasn't really comfortable, and it was also very cold (which is actually not possible). Service was ok, but actually not in keeping with the price level. The food was good to very good, unfortunately there was also a salad that was so oversalted and drowned in dressing that you actually should have sent it back (which you didn't). Overall, light and shadow, Swabian cuisine is absolutely positive. We recommend a visit to anyone who lives nearby, but it's probably not worth a longer journey.

Excellent food! Very nice service! We got a table at short notice and were served excellently. Very good wines, perfectly tempered and served, generally very good beer selection (unfortunately the draft beer tap was broken that day), Meckatzer dark Hefeweizen from the bottle was very tasty, excellent greetings from the kitchen, very tasty vegetarian dumplings with cheese sauce, first-class onion roast Spaetzle and sauce, although the Maultaschen were good, but below the level of the other excellent dishes. And a really outstanding goose leg with demi glace, wonderful red cabbage and dumplings with an excellent butter and breadcrumb melt. Brilliant! In addition, the portions are huge overall and the price-performance ratio is really outstanding. The small downside was the Christmas decorations, which were beautiful, but were wrapped around the handrails of the very steep stairs, so my parents, who were already 80 and 77 years old, had a lot of difficulty because they couldn't hold on properly. This is also a note for people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users and walker users, the toilet is on the first floor with a steep staircase. All in all really great, we'll be back!

When I saw the great half-timbered house of the old bailiwick, I was totally thrilled. Even the staircase with all the beautiful Christmas decorations was very inviting. The Christmas atmosphere continued throughout the entire restaurant. Very warm and cozy, you felt a lot of warmth and attention to detail. A very friendly welcome, the service was absolutely competent. The food was a real explosion for the palate, something I've never experienced before... although I've been to a lot of restaurants. The chef and owner also asked about my well-being and even served some of the excellent dishes himself. I can hardly put my excitement into words. I wish Mr. Hoffmann continued success and a definitely deserved star. Thank you very much for the special experience.

Very rustic room, the staff is very accommodating. Very attentive, asking every course and in between whether everything is still OK. Some of the dishes are very upscale, Acer also offers the “normal onion roast”

Exceptionally good food at a gourmet level. Very committed and passionate owners. Now in the run-up to Christmas it is very lovingly and romantically decorated inside and outside. Absolute recommendation!

We were there a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is very nice, the service is very friendly and accommodating. The food is wonderful and beautifully prepared, tastes good but not worth it considering the price. When the chef asked how the food was, the feedback was positive with a comment about improvement, which was received in a ridiculous and derogatory manner. The price and the arrogant behavior are a reason for us to definitely not visit the restaurant again.

After a very long time we were back in the Alte Bailiwick and had an absolutely lovely evening. Perfect onion roast, very good Pinot Noir and an exceptional, addictive dessert. Very good, warm service - we will definitely be back soon!

As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the special atmosphere of the listed building. The rustic wooden beams, combined with stylish, modern accents, create a cozy yet elegant environment. Fare la scarpetta - frowned upon in Italian etiquette, but common in culinary practice: dip the sauce with some white bread. Our plates in the Alte Bailiwick absolutely deserved that. Such delicious and excellent sauces with every dish, but unfortunately there was no bread. We got over it because every course was a dream.

I expect good, tasty food when you go out to eat. But good food has nothing to do with completely exorbitant prices. A good restaurant offers freshness, enjoyment and fair prices. As an Argentinian you buy the roast roast wholesale for 17.90 a kg and sell it shamelessly. The wine prices are also completely exorbitant. Well... you'll notice, as there are a number of them in the area that are very good and not too expensive. Just think outside the box...

The old bailiwick, Köngen's oldest building. We visited here last Saturday evening and were taken on a brilliant culinary journey. The menu was balanced and the nuances provided a great experience for the palate. The tenant has had an exciting gastronomic journey, which is reflected in the choice of components and the resulting dishes. The wine selection covers a wide range of preferences. We will definitely come back! And we're already looking forward to it again today.

The old bailiwick is already a feast for the eyes with its half-timbered building. The welcome was warm and we immediately felt very welcome. The dishes are unique and carefully created. You can tell that the chef puts a lot of thought into his dishes. The dishes were artistically arranged on the plates and we almost didn't want to touch them, they were presented so uniquely. Keep it up and we look forward to being part of this journey. We are very proud that Marcel serves our Demeter wines in his restaurant.

We sat on the terrace in the sunshine and it was just really beautiful! The meal was excellent. Each of us 5 was thrilled with our starter, main course and dessert! It was our second visit and we will definitely come back. The service and chef staff are absolutely friendly, courteous, attentive and give great recommendations. You feel comfortable all the time. Unfortunately very small selection of dishes but very expensive. My spaetzle was overcooked and tasteless. The service is very good, you can't complain!! Music is not suitable for this ambience and upscale restaurant, pop music was playing.

Excellent upscale German cuisine and a very good selection of wines from local winemakers, coupled with top service. We would love to come back 🙂

Great restaurant, run by a young and committed team that puts their heart and soul into it. You notice that in the very obliging service and, above all, you taste it. We had two 4-course menus (one focused on fish, one on meat) in which all the dishes were convincing in terms of taste, combination and composition. We will be back definitely.

We were able to celebrate the baptism of our little daughter in the Alte Bailiwick at the weekend. From the beginning I found the planning to be very pleasant, uncomplicated and relaxed, and this continued on the day of the celebration. Mr. Hoffmann and his small team did everything they could to give us an unforgettable day, with loving, attentive service for big, small and even the furry guests (our dogs will certainly not forget their little “greeting from the kitchen” for the rest of their lives) . The coffee and cake were excellent, as was the dinner, but especially the dessert. The process went smoothly and every one of our wishes was taken into account. We had a wonderful day and would celebrate there again at any time, and we will certainly eat there very often. Thank you, dear Bailiwick team, for this great experience ❤️

We have already been to various tenants in the Alte Bailiwick several times. However, we have never eaten as excellently as Mr. Hoffmann's. All dishes were perfectly coordinated and lovingly prepared. We chose the Easter menu and were not disappointed. The service is unobtrusive but always present. The welcome and the entire support throughout the evening were very attentive and warm. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing the owners continue to enrich the cuisine in Köngen for a long time.

Since March 8, 2024 under the new leadership of Marcel Hoffmann. All previous reviews are therefore irrelevant. Real fine dining on a largely organic basis is offered. Creative cuisine with matching wines. Excellent service. Amuse bouche: salmon trout tartare on poached wild garlic. Delicious. Then oxtail essence with marrow dumplings and chives. Very delicately seasoned. Main course: Onion roast Alte Vogtei made from beef shovel, garnished with two types of onions (steamed and golden-roasted fried onions), confit potatoes and truffled broccoli. Finally: Ganache from Valrhona Guanaja 75%. A delicious menu that is worth seeing.
