In a feel-good environment, we were served our tasty carp by the friendly and considerate staff after an extremely short wait. Completely satisfied - including with the price structure - we left the inn in a good mood with the promise of further visits. Thanks!!

Gasthof Goldener Anker – A clear recommendation A beautiful, rustic restaurant in the heart of Scheßlitz. The friendly service and excellent food make the visit a real experience. Particularly noteworthy is the chestnut soup – simply amazing! The goose breast was super crispy, the dumplings were outstanding, and the savoy cabbage was also a delight. The venison ragout is also convincing across the board – an absolute dream. All in all, a wonderful restaurant that I can highly recommend. We would definitely like to come back!

We came across the restaurant following a recommendation and were not disappointed! The food was very tasty (sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage), the staff was incredibly friendly. The price-performance ratio is 100% and is particularly noteworthy. We would come back at any time!

Very unfriendly boss. Before we even said "Hello" we were shouted at by "wait outside" even though we weren't even in the restaurant yet. Luckily there are even more guesthouses in Scheßlitz.

A great restaurant that our family has visited several times a year for decades. A cozy atmosphere with home-style cuisine at absolutely fair prices. Very nice service and above all you can see and taste that the food is "handmade". We always enjoy coming back with friends and family.

Unfortunately our experience today wasn't so good. I ordered my salad without dressing (food intolerance). Unfortunately, when I got home I discovered that balsamic vinegar had been poured over all of the leaf salad, and the potato, carrot and cucumber salad had all been dressed with vinegar/oil. It would have been nice to have been pointed out during the phone call... The chicken was also swimming in an oily sauce and was also very tough/stringy. Currywurst was okay.

We ate here while passing through. Here you can get good Franconian specialties at fair prices. We'd love to come back!

Very cozy restaurant with good food

We once visited this inn on a recommendation and were greeted, seated and served in a very friendly manner. The service is very quick when it comes to taking orders. The drinks and the selected dishes also came to the table very quickly. We enjoyed it excellently and will definitely come back.

This is how a Franconian economy should be. Rustic furnishings that still invite you to linger, friendly, inviting and quick service, first-class quality food and drinks. It's no wonder that such a hospitable location is well attended and you should therefore announce your visit. A special delicacy with the schnitzel are the anchor fries, which you definitely shouldn't miss. I had a goose breast with loos and savoy cabbage and I was thrilled with it. A changing beer of the month rounds off the experience and brings Upper Franconian brewing art at its finest. At the Liebs in Anker in Scheßlitz it becomes clear why Upper Franconia is called the gourmet region.

Was there with my wife. Food was very tasty, portions are good size. Prices are completely ok. Service is also top. Whenever I'm there again, it's always a pleasure.

We pre-ordered food for 40 people and picked it up on a Saturday evening. We only had to wait a short time until everything was ready to load. During this time we noticed that there was a lot going on in the inn and it was difficult to get a seat without a reservation. But that's no surprise with this meal. We had roast pork, cream roast beef and wild garlic noodles (for the vegetarians) as well as dumplings, croquettes, savoy cabbage and red cabbage. Everything was a poem. Thank you for this culinary delight. All guests were very enthusiastic. And another warning afterwards: We'll be back...☺️

Food Jagerschnitzel was very good. Also mushroom roast. Liver dumpling soup as a starter. Typical Franconian gastronomy, as it should be. Restaurant clean. Very satisfied with service. We'll be back. Keep it up.

This time we were served in the beautiful, shady beer garden. I chose wild boar loin steak. It was a dream and the beer from Bamberg too.

Rarely in my life have I been treated so rudely by the owner himself when we hadn't left the restaurant at 2:26 p.m. (it closes at 2:30 p.m.) and yes, we had already been informed twice at this point that it was almost closing time and we had to do this We also confirmed that we were insulted with the greetings of the uninvited guest when we said goodbye. The service itself was really nice and the salad was ok, but in the end the behavior is a straight grade of 6 and one star is still too much.

Out of necessity, we went to the Goldener Anker and were really surprised. Beautiful well-kept beer garden, large selection of food and drinks. My husband had wild boar steak with fries and salad and I had boiled beef with horseradish sauce and dumpling. Both dishes were super tasty. The crowning glory is apple fritters with ice cream and cream. We received friendly, quick and attentive service and were completely satisfied. We recommend!!!

Our expectations were far exceeded. The food was excellent and yet the waiting time was very short, given that the restaurant was very busy. The service leaves nothing to be desired, a big compliment, we would be happy to come back.

The Sunday meal was very good, only the sauce for the Schäufele was made with red wine, which I didn't like that much. But the Schäufele was great and the duck was a dream.

When we drive on the A70, a stop at the golden anchor is mandatory. Unfortunately, that was a long time ago. Served by an attentive and friendly staff, we really enjoyed our stops with Franconian specialties such as roast pork or Schäufele. This was also confirmed by my grandmother, who can conjure up dishes of this type. In short: food like grandma's at absolutely fair prices!

Here you can get good, decent, Franconian cuisine. A good, middle-class restaurant. It is very cozy and pleasant. The food is beautifully prepared and also tastes very tasty. However, there are also a few non-typical Franconian dishes on the menu, so it's worth reading through them. But there will definitely be something for everyone. The service was extremely friendly, relaxed, you just felt completely comfortable. The price-performance ratio is very good, you get relatively large portions of very good food for not too much money. Anyone who likes traditional Franconian food should definitely come here.
