Gasthof Forsthaus in Moritzburg

The venison goulash was very good, but the red cabbage was swimming in fat, the tongue was drained, already gray, and had no flavor at all. Here, too, so much butter/margarine (not a bit brown) was poured over everything that you had to let it drip off your fork. I never get heartburn, but after eating it, I had it all day. What a shame.

Very nice location. Great service. Only the goulash wasn't so good. Too little meat and tendon shouldn't be included. Everyone else at the table was happy with their food, though.

The food is plentiful and delicious. Unfortunately, the waitresses are clearly overwhelmed, and it shows. Arriving guests are turned away even when the table is empty.

We were there for the first time yesterday. A very nice restaurant with a lovely beer garden. The food was excellent. The waitress (a young man) was also wearing long black trousers and a white shirt. However, the dress code of the gentleman behind the bar (innkeeper, owner?) was a bit disconcerting… a baggy white T-shirt, light blue boxer shorts, and flip-flops… and that's how he brought the food to the tables. Completely inappropriate for a restaurant with such an upscale standard and price range. His outfit would barely fit a beer hall…

Forsthaus Moritzburg is an idyllic inn located directly on Schlossallee in Moritzburg. The food is excellent, and the entire staff goes out of their way to fulfill every wish. Keep it up!!!

The tender Sauerbraten in a dark sauce with potato dumplings and apple-flavored red cabbage fulfilled the fondest wishes and hopes of a Berliner, weary from traveling on a broken autobahn, who felt warmly welcomed on the shady terrace on a hot summer day. It was so good! Thank you!

Highly recommended Fast and very friendly service The food was first-class, the tongue was as tender as butter, and the herring was a dream. The Quarkkeulchen (curd dumplings) were also excellent. Sorry again that I probably bumped into the boss while leaving the restroom with my dark beer (you don't look right and walk left 🙋😁) That was totally my fault. A very pleasant restaurant, with a rustic, beautifully decorated interior, lots of wood, and a quiet atmosphere, perfect for a pleasant conversation. The food is delicious, the service is prompt, very friendly, and attentive, always up for a bit of fun. Small family celebrations are also possible in a separate room, so you can enjoy your stay to the fullest. The terrace is also a great place to relax. Always worth recommending, in my opinion.

Simply wonderful! The venison goulash was so tender it melted in your mouth – a true delight! Added to that, freshly tapped beer, homemade lemonade (really delicious!), and still-warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce… heavenly! The service was excellent – friendly, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. This is how eating is truly enjoyable! We'll definitely be back!

We stopped here after a trip in early July and were fortunate enough to still be able to get something to eat, as the kitchen was already closing. A large salad with chicken strips and a delicious goulash with dumplings. The portion was a bit large, but very tasty. The young waiter was very friendly and accommodating; we would definitely eat here again.

We were a group of six adults and one child and hadn't reserved a table. Nevertheless, another room was opened to accommodate us. This wasn't exactly expected at 11:30 a.m. on Whitsun Sunday. Thank you very much for that. The staff was very friendly, and even the littlest one had a few pens and something to color in. The food was delicious and prepared quickly. We'd love to come back!

Four of us were here, and we were all thrilled. From the hassle-free table reservation to the incredibly prompt service and the incredibly delicious food. The value for money is also excellent, especially considering the portion sizes. You can even order senior citizen portions if you need them. Otherwise, I can't fault anything and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

On a Friday evening with 11 people plus a dog, a place was quickly “built” for us without a reservation and we were served so nicely and the food was so tasty that we came back the next day. Great home cooking at moderate prices. We'll definitely come back.

Simply great! I had asparagus with schnitzel and hollandaise sauce - rarely eaten so well! The asparagus was perfectly cooked, the schnitzel was crispy and tender, the sauce was creamy and wonderfully seasoned. The rest of the family was also very, very happy. Plus attentive service and a cozy atmosphere. Everything is just right here – absolutely recommended!

Today we spontaneously went to the forester's house for dinner. Very comfortable and what I personally found very good was that as a couple we were in a place where we were undisturbed. The staff is very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The food was very tasty and plentiful. I can only recommend it!

We were there on January 24th. in this restaurant for lunch. We had pre-ordered because I always have problems with my wheelchair. They said no problem, we're happy to help and that's how it was. Two strong employees were immediately on hand and three stages were managed. In the guest room, it is traditionally furnished, but not overloaded. The boss came and brought the menu and also took the drink order. The drinks came immediately. The ordered food came about 30 minutes after ordering, completely acceptable. The quality of the various dishes was excellent, freshly cooked, well presented and it tasted excellent. I chose the pyre, picture 2, rack of lamb with beans, which were served with chorizo ​​strips and onions. The meat melted in your mouth, the beans were great. Everyone was enthusiastic about this dish, whether it was sauerbraten or tongue with peas. After dessert and an espresso, I left the restaurant with the help of my two colleagues, completely satisfied with this pleasant place that is definitely worth visiting. The town of Moritzburg is always worth a visit, regardless of whether it is the hunting lodge of August the Strong, the lake with the lighthouse, the pheasantry or just the Jagdhaus restaurant, everything is worth a visit. I definitely recommend this restaurant and we will come back. Thanks to all the restaurant employees for a successful day.

Why it's not 5 stars... the reservation is only for 1.15 hours to a maximum of 1.30... a cozy meal doesn't have to be everything. Food arrives after about 20 minutes, which is okay, but you don't want to have to rush to eat with your family on the weekend.... Food was good... Staff friendly but they would definitely like to have something to drink and the bill came with the drink ... Sorry, that doesn't fit the cozy country inn
