A great traditional inn with incredibly good food. My family and I have been living in Germany for several years, but we have never had food as good as in the Forsthaus. The Saxon Sauerbraten is a dream! If you're in Moritzburg and don't visit the forester's lodge, you're missing out!

The day before yesterday we reserved our table for the same evening in a completely uncomplicated manner. When we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed. The hospitality was first class and left nothing to be desired. The food (beef tongue, sauerbraten and game goulash) couldn't have been better. It was simply an all-round successful stay that we will remember for a long time and would definitely recommend! Thank you and best regards to the entire staff!

Just expensive, poor quality food and service. Service was on the edge of being rude.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, but the food was average. The fries were particularly disappointing as they were too soft and hardly seasoned. The other dishes were also OK, but nothing special. The service was friendly, but for the price I would have expected a better quality of food overall.

We reserved a table at very short notice today. Worked great. When we arrived at the restaurant we were warmly welcomed and personally taken to the table by the boss. The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing, so delicious. We would love to come back and enjoy the excellent Saxon wine. Many thanks to this great team. Unfortunately, you don't find it often anymore these days. Keep it up.

Placed in a back room for lunch. No picture on the wall. Then it's better to cancel when you call! Otherwise, the service was quick and the food was delicious.

Herzlicher Empfang und es wurde ein Platz im gemütlichen Gästegarten für uns "geschaffen". Tolle Bedienung, auch zu Späßen bereit. Das Essen am ersten Abend war so gut und lecker, dass wir für den nächsten Abend gleich reserviert haben. Zanderfilet auf den Punkt gebraten, Wild- und Schweinefleisch mega zart und saftig, dazu genügend Soße. Semmelknödel auch sehr empfehlenswert. Ofenkartoffel frisch gekocht (alles saftig innen und kein Futterkartoffelkühlschrankgeschmack) und ordentlich Kräuterquark...und trotzdem noch Nachschlag bekommen. Alles sehr sehr lecker und vor allem frisch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Macht weiter so! Viel Erfolg! LG

Surely the best restaurant in Moritzburg. Typical Saxon food very well prepared. Complete portions and reasonable price. Really recommended. Of course, if you don't speak German, it will be difficult to understand each other. They do not speak another language and do not make much effort to try to understand each other.

Inconspicuous inn that is run with heart and love. The food is down-to-earth and delicious. The service is excellent, friendly and attentive. You simply feel welcome here.

Food not cheap, but great. However, the waiter is very friendly at first, but doesn't even say thank you when the tip is almost 15%. What does he expect? Our tip was almost €8. For bringing the food and drinks and clearing away the plates and glasses? What didn't he understand about his job? I would like some feedback from the owner...

Beautifully rustic, super friendly service and the food is a dream! Freshly prepared fantastic home cooking. Unfortunately, the inn still offers the “Mohrenkopf” for dessert. Hence deducting the stars. Despite everything, unfortunately it leaves a very bad aftertaste.

5 years after my last visit, still excellent cuisine, great service and a cozy atmosphere inside. There is also a small terrace with a few tables, but we prefer to be in the restaurant because of the wasps and street noise. The food is tasty and the portions are good, but the price is absolutely OK. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again.

Came to the restaurant at 7:25 p.m., supposedly the kitchen is closed, there is no more food...but food was just being served at the other tables...unbelievable...

We had dinner today. We are both very excited. At 33 degrees in summer, we were recommended the salad with chicken skewers and the fusili with shrimp! Absolutely the right choice. The atmosphere is shady and cozy. Parking spaces directly in the yard. Service was top notch. The waiter had casual sayings and the waitress often asked whether we were well looked after. We recommend the Forsthaus without reservation! We'll definitely be back! Keep it up!

Preis Leistung mega. Vom Service waren wir auch hin und weg. Mehrmals kam jemand um zu fragen ob alles okay ist und man hat als Gast auch gemerkt dass die Frage ehrlich gemeint und nicht gestellt war. Kompliment an das ganze Team

Open until 9 p.m. Since the four of us were almost the only guests after 8 p.m., we were forced to leave earlier, but we didn't do so. After all, we left a lot of money there. The next time was two doors down to the Greek restaurant, which was officially only open until 9 p.m. and guests were still sitting there after 9:30 p.m. This is customer focus and hospitable. That's how it's done.

We went here twice for dinner over the Easter holidays. The sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage was incredible. It tasted like home. After childhood. That's how mom and grandma cooked it too. The service staff was also very warm.

Unfortunately there was no music in the background but the service was ok so far and the food was ok too 👌🏼 The trout didn't taste like anything, the solyanka tasted sour and watery

My partner and I went there because food seems to be delicious and local. Unfortunately we never got to try anything because the waiter was extremely rude. Not sure if he is racist, homophobic, xenophobic or just plain rude, but we left after he got angry at us when we asked for explanation on the wines menu. Very unpleasant experience

Was rudely brushed off at the counter on the grounds that reservations for the evening were not being accepted on Easter Sunday. You should just come over. When we asked how far we had to be there before the kitchen closed, the answer was so loud that existing guests looked embarrassed. For me it was a cheeky compliment. We then went to the golden pretzel and were very satisfied.

Great atmosphere, but the food (Zander) is absolutely not recommended. Very dry and pesto way too oily. And far too small a portion for the money.

Food very tasty, service friendly. The atmosphere in the main restaurant is cozy. Unfortunately we had a table in another room that was very pragmatically furnished and less inviting. It was still a nice evening and the food made up for it.

It was really tasty here. Despite the room being full, places were still found for us (2 people). We didn't have to wait long and were served straight away. The food also came very quickly and was really tasty.

Beautiful inn in the style of a hunting lodge with a real fireplace and rustic furnishings. The huge smoking man is really great and a feast for the eyes. The staff is very attentive and super friendly. You get very good food, plenty of it and something for everyone. Many thanks to the entire Forsthaus team. We'd love to come back.

It's always beautiful, you feel comfortable, the staff is friendly and always on task. Not to mention the food is lovingly cooked, the waiter fits in here perfectly...thanks for the charisma and it tastes like my grandmother's.
