Bärenhäusl in Moritzburg

After a tour of Moritzburg Castle, I wanted a little refreshment before returning to Berlin. I ordered a Mirinda and a pulled turkey burger. When the waitress asked, "With fries?", I said yes. My mistake was not asking if they were included as a side order or how much they cost. Fries can't cost the earth, so I didn't give it much thought. Afterwards, I ordered another cappuccino. The bill came, I paid, wondered about the difference, and then it was sorted out. Still, for several minutes, I couldn't get over the fact that the fries cost €6.50. I noted everything with a laugh. There weren't very many, and they weren't served particularly lovingly or arranged decoratively. I've been to high-class restaurants and have never paid that much for fries. At a burger joint, you can get fries in a little fryer. Cute, yet cheaper. All in all, the food was okay. But €6.50 for a small fries! :D

A lovely little café near Moritzburg Castle, it's definitely worth taking a break here and then exploring the surrounding area with a carriage ride

Here, we had coffee and a late, sweet lunch before our tour of the Moritzburg Stud Farm. Yeast dumplings with blueberry sauce – very delicious :-) Unfortunately, the staff were only moderately friendly and only moderately attentive. But the food and drinks were very good.

After visiting Moritzburg Castle, we desperately needed some refreshment. The Bärenhäusl restaurant was just the thing. Because of the beautiful weather, we sat in the beer garden. The herring fillet with boiled potatoes and a delicious sauce was just what we needed for the temperatures. The waiters seemed to have benefited from a little more coordination. One would sometimes run to a table in one corner, then another to a table in the other. There was no discernible structure, but the drinks and food still came relatively quickly.

The food was very good. The staff was very friendly. We sat outside, which was very pleasant. The atmosphere was relaxed.

The plan was to have a quick bite to eat outside before the musical. There were plenty of sunny and shady spots. We were able to easily change the portion size and even order a children's plate. We're used to it. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We'd be happy to come back here on our next visit. Thank you for the pleasant evening.

A very nice beer garden with friendly and extremely efficient staff. We came here for coffee and ice cream and felt very comfortable. Thank you for the great service. We would happily recommend the Bärenhäusl.

Friendly staff and a super cozy terrace. The staff is well looked after. There was also a water bowl for the dogs. We'd be happy to return.

I had salmon with hash browns and salad. It was an absolute disaster. The three small hash browns were so tough, as if they were days old and had been warmed up in the microwave. The side salad was two leaves without dressing. I ordered it, and it was brought to me grumpily. The price-performance ratio was an absolute joke.

The food is good but the service is complete rubbish. You wait 15 to 20 minutes before you can pay!!!!

Was here with a large group. There were about 15 of us. We were all pretty shocked. The prices are absolutely insane. I had rösti with salmon and was pretty lost looking at the plate. I was still hungry and ordered fries, which cost 6.90 euros and there were so few of them that I was still hungry. A potato 🥔 , really just one with quark costs 17.90 euros. A schnitzel is about 28 euros. No cutlery at the table, not enough napkins. You have to ask several times to get something. The friendliness of the staff could be much improved. The toilets are old and the whole place is a bit run down. If the food tasted good for these unbelievable prices, it wouldn't be so bad. But unfortunately it's very ordinary and boring. I even gave a 2 euro tip and didn't even get a thank you. Yes, our world is not the way it is for nothing. As long as people think that we have enough tourists and they don't need to come again, the world will not get better.

We had pre-booked a table for coffee on Mother's Day yesterday. After we arrived, the reservation was "lost", but we still got a table. Orders for drinks took a while, food came late, there was a mix-up, so it took another time for one person and an order was completely forgotten and then brought when asked. The staff tried hard and tried to come across as friendly... We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, it didn't even get that far. We were very snippy and pointedly informed that there would be no service outside today. The answer to my why? was, IT WOULD BE TOO COLD...and that at about 15 degrees and sunshine. Found the way impossible.

Just wanted to drink a coffee and eat a piece of the famous Eierschecke. The cake was very hard, old and just yucky...

Very rustic location located exactly opposite the castle. The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly. A visit is recommended.

We were able to enjoy a wonderful meal with a great view of Moritzburg. The vegetarian selection is not very diverse, but my friend's dish was very, very good.

Rarely have we experienced such lack of planning! There were 4 of us and our order came and was served completely sliced. First came 1 piece of cake, after 10 minutes the coffee for 1 person, after another 10 minutes the ice cream for the other people and another 10 minutes for the coffee. How about numbering the tables and serving everything together? Even if there is a high volume of customers - it's up to the organization!

Location and staff were great, food was completely overpriced and really nothing special...

The service is friendly but we were very disappointed, the lunch is reasonably priced but not special. I would have preferred any currywurst with fries at the kiosk.

Waited over an hour for food. It was pretty good, but for a burger that costs more than €20 I expect a little more. Tourist shop at the castle… Edit: Gave a scoop of ice cream as compensation, which was definitely nice. (2 instead of 1 star)

A great half-timbered house as a restaurant with rustic charm. Even the waiters have to climb a narrow wooden staircase to reach the upper, more spacious floor for the guests to provide the guests with food and drink. For people with physical disabilities or those with walking problems, there are two tables down by the entrance opposite the counter or a chic outdoor area, which this time was unreasonable (Good Friday 2025, outside temperature 10 degrees and cloudy with showers). Otherwise great and delicious food, we even got a table without a reservation, but in principle it's always worth reserving in advance. Prices are decent (bear burger with fries €22 or salmon with asparagus-cherry-tomato tagliatelle €26), but justified by the proximity to Moritzburg Castle (approx. 300m) and the nice ambience as well as very attentive service. We were very satisfied. Five Stars!

We were there on Friday March 28th. in this rustic hospitality. A friendly waitress took our order. The drinks came quickly and were delicious. However, after more than 60 minutes, our food still hadn't arrived, while all the other guests (approx. 10) had already been served and were able to leave. When we asked, we were told that the order had been forgotten. Shortly afterwards we received information that there were problems preparing the dumplings. Sometimes too hard, sometimes not at all......- Disappointed after almost 1.5 hours - what a shame

I don't know what to say to that. If you have children, please only have well-behaved ones. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. We walked into the restaurant and my 3 year old daughter sat on the chair. In my rush I didn't see that she got her shoes on the removable chair cushion. An employee immediately came and wanted to pull her legs from the upholstery. Without saying anything, full of emotion. She grabbed my child's shoes. (downright annoyed and impulsive/aggressive) My child and I were completely shocked. I don't want my child to be touched. And especially not like that. You can communicate it clearly. Insight nil! After I pointed it out to her! However, the other employees were very friendly. And food and coffee came in a timely manner.

We were there on a Tuesday in the first week of the winter holidays. It was a beautiful little restaurant with great food, which was very quick and very friendly staff. My waiter's heart had absolutely nothing to complain about.

We thought, for sure, there cannot be enough free tables with all the people, but it’s surprisingly roomy inside with multiple floors. We were able to sit down. Food was very tasty, staff professional and friendly. Everything clean. Considering the number of people also quite fast. Recommend.

Not far from the castle is the rustic inn with super friendly service and delicious food. Extra requests were also happy to be fulfilled. Many thanks to the great team. We'd love to come back.

Despite the offline review on site, I would like to leave a review here. It is very nicely decorated, there is a highlight upstairs for children to look at. The menu offers a dish for every taste and it tastes good too. The staff was quick and friendly!

Yesterday, after visiting the Cinderella exhibition, we came to the Bärenhäusl with 7 people and were very satisfied with the extremely friendly and emphatically attentive service of all the employees. The choice of dishes on offer amazed us and all of the meals we chose, including starters and desserts, were attractively prepared, tasted delicious and were served to us with persistent friendliness, despite the large number of guests. The portions were pleasantly large. We agree - we will come back and thank you for this pleasant stay at the Bärenhäusl.

The two of us had coffee today. As soon as you enter the inn you are greeted by a strong and pungent smell. In front of the toilet, two guests who took a deep breath told me to do the same. The men's toilets are probably operated without water for the sake of the environment! You can hardly breathe and the acrid smell immediately hits your nose and it burns. There is also a very strong smell at the tables in the guest room in front of the toilet. The service itself is great and very exemplary. The food tastes good and the atmosphere is otherwise very, very pleasant. But the Herten toilet is more reminiscent of an inn at a train station toilet!! What a shame!!!!

I can only recommend a very nice restaurant. Service was very friendly, everything was very clean, food was great. You can also pay by card, but I would make a reservation. There is hot food starting at midday, which I personally really liked since we weren't there until 3 p.m. We'll definitely appear again. I can't understand how some people can write such bad reviews.

Wanted to have a quick coffee. Unfortunately we were treated very unfriendly and we had to wait forever for the coffee (restaurant was not full). We even had to ask 3 times for the bill. I can't say anything about the food but the service was subpar...

Went here for coffee today. Very cozy place. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Makes delicious pies and cakes. Can be highly recommended. Anytime again and keep it up.

We used Sunday to end the wonderful autumn day with coffee and cake - it works really well here. The cake is super delicious, the cappuccino and the café au lait were creamy and aromatic. It was also worth looking at the map. The outdoor area was well filled, the staff was friendly and accommodating to the guests' wishes. The daycare center held its parents' council in the Bärenhäusl yesterday. We had our own comfortable room, the staff were always friendly and the food was delicious, especially the fact that everyone got their food at the same time. We are already looking forward to the next evening.

Nice location. The restaurant in the half-timbered house has something nostalgic about it. Unfortunately the map was difficult to read. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. The food is ok (grade 3-), but too expensive compared to other dining establishments. No reason to come back.

Yesterday we were at the Bärenhäusl for the first and last time, not because the atmosphere was stupid, on the contrary, it is a very nice guest garden, quick and friendly service, we felt comfortable...until we saw the chef with his work clothes ( who didn't look appealing or appetizing) sat down in the guest garden, probably with his friends, and one smoked, we found this very unhygienic and asked the really nice waitress for the bill and told her why, she apologized for it and said it I'll clarify it with the boss, I just hope that she implements this and that the next guests don't feel the same way as we did. Only three of the staff worry about you ordering quickly and then no one comes. Staff not very friendly. Say something about no WiFi but staff is only busy with their own cell phones.

We arrived today, relaxed and visited the outdoor area of ​​the Moritzburg and headed to the first restaurant. The first look at the menu didn't satisfy us so much, so we chose the dish of the day "Schnitzel with grilled vegetables and rosemary potatoes", but it wasn't possible to swap it for fries or fried potatoes. The food was fresh, hot, filling and delicious. Afterwards we treated ourselves to a dessert, it was okay, but absolutely not justified for the price. We left full and satisfied and that is the most important thing.

Super nice and child-friendly staff was very accommodating and super quick. The meal, a chanterelle omelette, was really perfect. The rich salad that came with it was crowned with a raspberry sauce that turned the omelette into a summery, balanced meal. The homemade hibiscus iced tea rounded off the stay perfectly. Gladly again!

We came for late lunch after a nice stroll around Moritzburg castle. Nice seating outside and quick and decent service. My mother had a some hash browns with salmon and salad - nice and light. My son was OK with his burger and I ventured for the wild boar fillets with asparagus. While the seasoning was nice, the meet was extremely dry. And the asparagus showed that the season is already over - pretty big and dry as well.

Eating for the first time, it was really delicious 😋. Cozy, in the best weather in the fresh air, heart, what more could you want? Not a long wait, we were very impressed. It looked relatively small at first, but it was really filling. And first the dessert, fresh strawberries 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 and delicately melting ice cream 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨, simply fantastic. We'll be back, promise.

We were here after visiting Moritzburg Castle. When the weather was great, the guests naturally gave each other the handle - the service was correspondingly stressed, even if it tried to be friendly. We ordered an egg pie with cappuccino and a salad with shandy. It tasted good and we would come again.
