The Fohlenweide was a popular destination in my childhood. I haven't been there in ages. We had dinner there the day before (Saturday). The weather was fantastic. We arrived around 2:30 p.m. Reserved signs were plastered all over the terrace. The waitress then gave us a table that wasn't reserved until 4 p.m. During that time, we were able to eat in peace and quiet. The portions are so huge that you can't die of hunger, even with the best will in the world 😉. On Sunday, we stopped by around 3 p.m. with a thirsty hiking group of 12 people (without a reservation). The weather wasn't great, and we were lucky to get a table on the terrace.

Great food, great service, always happy to come back.

It's a shame I drove all the way out only to find out that the company is closed until September 16th. It would have been good to have marked that.

The food at the Fohlenweide is always very good, but they say "kitchen open until 8:00 p.m." ATTENTION: If you want a hot meal, you should be there by 7:30 p.m. at the latest! After that, there's only WuSa or a tarte flambée.

We travel a lot by motorcycle between the Baltic Sea and the Black Forest, and of course, we always have a good appetite and are always looking for something new. Here, we've once again hit the jackpot, and it's now at the top of our list of favorites! The food, ambiance, service, and everything else are simply fantastic. Even the journey there is an experience in itself—a must-do. Outing tip: Swabian Alb!

A very nice, secluded and quiet restaurant. There's a huge selection of food. The prices are good and the food is delicious. The service is very attentive and friendly. However, you should make a reservation.

Service was very attentive and prompt. The food was very well cooked/grilled. The grilled pork neck steak and cordon bleu were excellent. The homemade potato salad and cheese spaetzle were very tasty. Highly recommended, and we'll stop by again on our next trip.

We ate at the Fohlenweide based on a recommendation. The food was delicious, the waiting time was reasonable. The space inside was a bit cramped and the service was polite but also seemed very rushed and didn't invite you to linger. There is a lot to see for children and it is certainly a great destination in summer. The way there is a bit "adventurous" with a big car

Alpine flair, restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered schnitzel and it was very good. From here you can go on beautiful hikes. Farm with cows and horses. There are a few beautiful cats running around, ideal for children, large tables are suitable for groups. Staff very friendly. We definitely liked it, we will come back.

Food is always TOP! The meat quality is great, always very tender. Vegetable quality is the same. Most of the waitresses are nice and friendly, but there is one waitress who is different. She was unfriendly and laughed derogatorily when we wanted to take our soup with us. We really, really like the soup and would like to freeze it for our child. We ended up paying for the soup. It's a shame that this woman works here. She's ruining the great time here.

Today we were in the foal pasture for the first time. We were just thrilled. The food was great, as was the service and the ambience. Price and performance are also great. Portions are insane. It was definitely not the last time we were there. Highly recommended.

A charming inn integrated into a farm. Idyllic setting with horses, cows, sheep, chickens, and cats. Home-style cooking. Swabian specialties, including meat and vegetarian options. Locals at the regulars' table speak highly of the place. Car required, or a pleasant hike of about 30 minutes.

Recommended... Excursion destination with rural charm. Good food like your mother's.

A good home cooking and cozy restaurant

Just a nice quiet place. Most of the time we are outside in the beer garden. But today on March 2nd, 2025 we were inside again and it was great.

The three of us were there spontaneously yesterday, and the many tables marked as reserved showed us that you can eat well here - and that was confirmed. Very tasty, homemade, plentiful and beautifully presented. Even though it was busy, the service was attentive, quick and friendly. Thank you for the wonderful end to our snow hike that we were able to spend here!

There were ten of us at the inn for a family dinner. The service was very on the ball and served us well. The food was incredibly good, onion roast was fried to perfection. An absolute culinary delight and plenty of it. There was a lot going on that evening, so it was loud and cramped in the dining room. Nevertheless, this visit to the Gasthof fohlenweide could be rated with five stars. Big praise to the chef and waitress👍🏼 Toilets were clean and a small hygiene basket (deodorant, hairspray...) was set up in the women's toilet. I found that particularly nice.

Yesterday we had our Christmas party at the Fohlenweide in Albstadt. As always, everything was great. We ate very, very well, we were served very friendly and we enjoyed a great evening in the middle of a really beautiful Christmas decoration 🤶🏼⛄❄️🎁. Beautifully located restaurant in the middle of nature. Great beer garden and nice playground for children. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced We'll definitely be back. The staff are very friendly. Since we sat outside we weren't served, it was self-service, but that didn't bother us at all. Despite many guests, we didn't have to wait long for our food.

Today we had dinner in the restaurant in the best autumn sunshine. We were satisfied. Everyone enjoyed it.

After a hike (or just because) you can fortify yourself here. My pork steak with fried potatoes was very good. In the cozy dining room I was entertained by nice, friendly staff. I spent a lovely evening in good company. The other dishes also looked very good and want to be tried in the near future 😀. When the weather is warm/nice you can also drink and eat outside

My Jägerschnitzel, with mushrooms, fries and a crisp mixed salad was very tasty.

We weren't indoors. We wanted to stay outside at the play area with the grandchildren. What I liked was that there was plenty of seating around the playground. It's also great that there are enough sand toys in the sandpit for all children. The play equipment has been taken into account for older and smaller children so that each child can feel individually at home. What's also great are the animals all around. There is always something to observe and discover. It wasn't the last time we were there.

It is a small restaurant with a large outdoor terrace, particularly popular with hikers as there are very beautiful hiking trails up there. So always make a reservation in advance, the food was delicious and the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. We'll be back

This was our first time at the Gasthof Fohlenweide but certainly not the last time. I came across the website by chance while looking for an inn with home-style cooking in the Alb. Since the inn is only open from 2 p.m. and we were there at 12 p.m., we took a great walk around the Fohlenhof to the Mühlenfels and the White Rock. We can only recommend this hike. From Mühlenfels you have a wonderful view over Ebingen. After our great walk, we stopped for lunch in the beautiful beer garden at the Fohlenhof. We found it very difficult to choose from the extensive menu, but we found what we were looking for and were not disappointed. The food tasted very good. For this reason alone we have to visit this inn again soon. We can only recommend the Fohlenhof.

We were there for dinner. The onion roast and the Corden Bleu were very good. The portions were large. The atmosphere is cozy. There are many animals in the area... Horses, donkeys, llamas, cats The inn is a bit out of the way, in the middle of the countryside. The personnel is very friendly and courteous.

A beautiful farm in the middle of nature. Offers a very nice terrace and a very cozy guest room. The food is very tasty and plentiful. Swabian home cooking with sophistication. Very appetizingly prepared, fresh and regional. Is really worth a visit. Or two...or three!!! 😉

My impression of the foal pasture is absolutely positive. Well, the atmosphere isn't very modern, it's just an economy like everything used to be. It was too bright for my liking but otherwise okay. Service was very attentive and the food was served quickly. Prices will of course be steep in the new year, but probably reasonable. The vegetarian selection is great and the Maultaschen with salad were very good. The highlight was the dessert. A warm chocolate cake with ice cream, cherries and cream. That was an absolute dream. Will definitely come back.

Gute schwäbische Küche. Lokal befindet sich etwas außerhalb auf einem Hof dort sind auch einige Tiere zu sehen. Es ist eine kleine Lokalität mit begrenztem Platzangebot.Man sollte vorab reservieren. Parken kann man vor dem Restaurant.

Wir waren zum Abendessen da, der Service war gut, das Ambiente ist auch okay, aber es hat sein Charme. Das Essen war sehr gut und damit wird da gepunktet!! Immer wieder gerne, ein geheim tipp wenn man schwäbische Küche möchte!

Selten so gut original schwäbisch gegessen. Service schnell, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber und ausreichend. Highlight sind die vielen Tiere drumherum, die die Wartezeit für Kinder schön verkürzen.

Si vous voulez vous acclimater à l’ambiance teutonne ce lieu est parfait. En plein milieu de ´nul part’ dans une ambiance champêtre le dépaysement est garanti. Le service et les repas / boissons étaient excellents durant ce repas en famille. Je vous conseille de réserver.

Sehr nettes Ausflugslokal auf der Schwäbischen Alb mit leckerem, traditionellem Essen (fleischlastig) aber auch einigen tollen vegetarischen Gerichten. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön mit vielen Tieren die scheinbar friedlich miteinander leben. Der Blick auf die Weiden ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Unsere Bedienung war sehr nett und hatte einen klasse Humor! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir sind durch Zufall mit dem Rad beim Gasthof Fohlenweide gelandet. Unsere. beiden Schnitzel wurden sehr schnell serviert und haben hervorragend geschmeckt. Die Beilagen waren ebenfalls sehr lecker, nur die Braten- und Rahmsoße könnten etwas mehr Gewürz vertragen. Die Portionen sind mehr als ausreichend. Preislich bewegt sich das Restaurant auf eher gehobenem Niveau, ist aber immer noch fair. Wir durften draußen sitzen, hier ist das Ambiente inmitten der Natur sehr schön.

Es ist ein rustikales sehr gemütliches Lokal.Das Essen ist Schwäbisch u sehr lecker,die Portionen sind für Grosse Esser.

Sehr schön gelegener, richtig gemütlicher Gasthof. Spitzen Essen mit sehr, sehr guter regionaler Küche! Topp Preis/Leistungsverhältnis! Das Team total cool, lässt sich nicht die Butter vom Brot nehmen, so mag ich das. Herzliche und motivierte Mitarbeiter. Habe dort richtig gut gegessen und viel Spass gehabt. Schade, das ich über 500km weit weg wohne, sonst wäre ich definitiv Stammgast!

ein schmackhaftes Essen, ein uriger Biergarten in schöner Natur - das ist ab und an zu finden. Aber ich habe selten zusätzlich so freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber getroffen, wie hier im Gasthof Fohlenweide. Spitzenmäßig und vielen Dank!

Kommen aus Stuttgart aber 2x im Jahr muss man da einfach hin. Die tolle Gastronomie wo man auf jeden gericht die liebe rausschmecken kann. Der Zwiebelrostbraten ein Gedicht das seines gleichen sucht. Die tollste Umgebung, mitten in der Natur, umgeben von so vielen liebevoll umsorgten Tieren. Es lohnt sich auch eine der zahlreichen Wanderungen zu starten.

Laut Bedienung war um 19:35 Uhr keine Essenbestellung mehr möglich. Angeblich Küche geschlossen.

Super leckeres Essen- auch vegan! Bedienung war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Im Sommer natürlich richtig schön wenn man draussen sitzen kann!

Essen sehr lecker, Personal sehr freundlich, wurden vom Junior Chef bedient, hat er dür sein Alter sehr gut gemacht. Haben uns gefreut und kommen gerne wieder.

Hier gibt's die besten Bratkartoffeln, die wir jemals in in einem Restaurant gegessen haben; schön knusprig und ordentlich mit Kräutern und Zwiebeln gebraten. Auch der Sauerbraten oder aktuell die Spargelsuppe von der Tageskarte suchen ihresgleichen! Wir sind regelmäßig zum Essen hier und versuchen auch alles mal zu probieren, bisher wurden wir nie enttäuscht. Besonders lecker ist auch der Blattsalat mit hauseigenem Dressing. Man sollte auch unbedingt reservieren, da immer viel los ist, sobald geöffnet wird.

Super leckere Speissen, zu tollen und fairen Preisen. Etwas abgelegen und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Das Essen war super lecker, frisch und einmalig, schwäbisch zubereitet. Bezahlen kann man mit Karte, oder noch bar. Toiletten vorhanden, jedoch nicht Rollstuhlfähig. Sehr nettes Personal, schneller, freundlicher und guter Service Aussenbereich mit Erlebnis Aufenthalt mit vielen Tieren rund ums Haus. Jeder Zeit zu empfehlen

Waren am Samstag nachdem wir aus Bremen in Albstadt angekommen sind im Gasthof Fohlenweide mit der Familie essen. Man kann es zusammenfassemd mit einem Wort beschreiben. SUPER!!!! Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, die Mitarbeiter alle sehr freundlich. Die Portionen sind recht groß. Wir haben es nicht geschafft aufzuessen. Wir können es nur jedem empfehlen dort einzukehren und die Zeit dort zu genießen. Wenn wir das nächste Mal wieder in Albstadt sind werden wir definitiv wieder im Gasthof Fohlenweide essen. Unkompliziert nach dem Spaziergang dort gegessen, sehr lecker! Preis / Leistung perfekt… Besser ist aber glaub mit Reservierung, ist ziemlich beliebt 😃

Ein sehr gemütlicher und uriger Gasthof. Es gibt gutbürgerliches Essen und es hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Portionen sind ebenfalls ordentlich. Man wird schnell bedient und die Leute sind sehr freundlich. Da der Gasthof zu einem Bauernhof gehört, kann es passieren, dass neben einem eine Katze schläft 😍 Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Preise sind auch top. Kann ich weiterempfehlen !
