We had our civil wedding two weeks ago at the Sonne barn, and it couldn't have been more beautiful! The barn looks beautiful and totally romantic with its fairy lights. Thanks to the good communication beforehand, we were able to plan exactly how many chairs we needed. The champagne reception was also beautifully planned – our guests and we were absolutely thrilled and couldn't have asked for anything more. My husband and I truly had the best day of our lives and are so grateful to have been able to say "I do" in such a dreamy location. We wholeheartedly recommend the Sonne, not only the location itself, but also Sascha and his family are wonderful, thoughtful people. Thank you so much again! David and Céline

The Gasthaus Sonne in Rotzel in the Hotzenwald is a very old village pub. The decor is in the old style and, in my opinion, very attractive. The menu isn't overly extensive, but you're not spoiled for choice. The food on offer is truly delicious! The Waldhaus beer is served in a stone mug, true to the old custom, and so naturally stays cold for longer. There's ample parking, and the staff are truly friendly and accommodating. The Sonne is always worth a visit! However, it's important to make a reservation in advance by phone or online, as the restaurant is only open on Tuesdays from 6 p.m.

We celebrated our wedding there on September 20, 2024, and we were very pleased. The ambiance was beautiful, the location was lovely, and the food was excellent and plentiful. We finally made it to Rotzel in the sunshine on Tuesday 🤩 and the trip was truly worth it 😃 We and our dog Kyra were warmly welcomed into a very homely atmosphere. Open half a day per week. How does it work ?

Great restaurant with a village atmosphere. The tradition of Erika and Elmar lives on in modern times... What is offered is stress-free, down-to-earth gastronomy with a small menu and large, perfect sausage salad, accompanied by courteous service. Open only on Tuesdays, but then with full vigor. A concept that pleases. Nadine and Sascha, continue to have fun and success! I'd love to come back 👍

It was okay but it was cold in the room even though the oven was well occupied and probably wasn't lit for pleasant warmth

It's always very nice and you feel welcome. The food and drinks are all very tasty. Time is also always made for the children. The owners and waitresses are always very friendly and always have time for a few nice words and a short conversation. And the events are regularly an experience and highly recommended.

Während unseres Urlaubes sind wir auf das Gasthaus Sonne in Rotzel aufmerksam geworden. Die Kontaktaufnahme zwecks Reservierung war super nett und problemllos. Das Restaurant hat nur 1x die Woche ( Dienstags ab 18.00 Uhr) geöffnet. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen, da es sehr gut besucht ist ( viele Einheimische). Die Karte ist überschaubar aber völlig ausreichend. Es werden Schnitzel , Pommes, Burger, Flammkuchen und Salat zu fairen Preisen angeboten. Die Produkte sind alle aus der Region. Eine nette Begrüßung steht auf jedem Tisch für den Gast bereit hier hat man noch das Gefühl, als Gast wirklich willkommen zu sein. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall im nächsten Urlaub wieder!

Familienfreundliches Ambiente, Wirtehepaar und Personal sehr freundlich! Die kleine Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich dementsprechend aber sehr lecker :-) Immer wieder gibt es tolle Veranstaltungen. Schön, dass wieder was los ist in Rotzel!

Ce restaurant n'a pas de carte, il n'y a qu'un seul menu! Entrée: une sorte de bouillon ou trempent des tagliatelles et des lanières d'omelette. Salade: composée . Plat: tranches de porc et de bœuf bouillis, nageant dans une sauce très salée, servies avec des légumes cuits à l'eau. Le tout est accompagné de plats de purée,de spatzle et de frites. Seuls la salade et les accompagnements sont bons, le reste n'a aucun intérêt. La viande et la sauce sont grasses et ont mauvais goût. Le prix de repas reflète la qualité de cet établissement: basse, très basse
