Standard restaurant with prices that are too high for what you get. Of course, if you offer 200 dishes, you can't make everything in-house. The winemaker's steak was unfortunately very tough. The service and ambiance, however, leave nothing to be desired.

Anyone who doesn't order food can leave. This has never happened to us before.

We were at the Gasthaus zur Post in Neustadt an der Weinstraße this evening and had a fantastic evening. The Greek food was excellent – ​​fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Every dish was prepared with love and was a true delight. The impressive, old-world ambiance of the house is particularly lovely, immediately creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The service was prompt, attentive, and extremely friendly. You feel very welcome and well looked after here. A guesthouse with a special charm, excellent cuisine, and great service – we would love to return and can recommend it without reservation!

A popular restaurant where we've always been served with friendly and courteous service. Every meal from the extensive menu has been delicious! There's never been a long wait, even when almost all the tables were occupied. We'd be happy to return anytime and give it a well-deserved 5 stars!

Delicious food, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere

One of the few restaurants where the waiter complains at length about too many customers. You felt unwelcome. Every new guest was greeted with a strained comment. Visually, the place is quite dated. The food, however, was quite good.

A truly cozy inn with plenty of charm and a pleasantly historic atmosphere. The decor exudes a traditional flair, and you immediately feel welcome. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive – a real plus! The food? Solid and delicious. The coachman's plate, served with a crisp side salad, deserves special mention. The sauerkraut was also excellently seasoned. The cuisine offers an interesting mix of Palatinate classics and Greek influences – surprising, but successful. One small drawback: At peak times, it can get a bit crowded and noisy, which somewhat detracts from the coziness. Nevertheless, if you're looking for good food and friendly service, this is the place to be. I'd be happy to come back.

This is our second time here because we were very satisfied the last time. The server was very nice, and the food arrived quickly. The food was very tasty, the portions were more than adequate, and the price was perfectly reasonable. Small special requests were no problem either. Unfortunately, like many others have reported here, we had the problem of receiving little attention. This meant that we waited at least 10 minutes before our first order was even taken, and the same thing happened towards the end when we wanted to pay. Card payments are accepted. Unfortunately, that's still not a given these days.

Disappointing, my gyro was badly burnt and covered in a lot of Metaxa sauce (tasty), which mostly hid the meat. The salad was fresh and well seasoned. As a regular customer, I probably wouldn't have been served this dish. In my case, it was even served by the boss herself. The following happened to us beforehand. We had chosen a table for two in the outside area of her restaurant, but she seriously directed us to a larger table near the main entrance, where smokers also like to sit. We are non-smokers. About half an hour later, two women sat down at the still free table for two (there was no reservation). ...business seems to be going well, but things like this can change. My request: everyone should question the way the boss treats customers like this, how does she handle other things too. I am deliberately giving it 1 star.

We were particularly impressed by the courtyard and terrace. A great ambiance in the heart of the old town, quiet, cozy, and very inviting 🌿🏛️. 1. Atmosphere The building is old and historic, and the terrace in the courtyard is truly beautiful. You sit quietly, get a real old town feel, and can really enjoy the evening. A real highlight for me ✨. 2. Service The staff was friendly and polite 😊. However, there was a noticeable lack of staff, which was unfortunately noticeable. Two tables got up and left during our visit because they weren't being served. It also took a while for our drinks and food to arrive, and during our meal, no one asked if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. 3. Food The restaurant offers Palatinate and Greek cuisine – the owners are Greek, which is also reflected in the menu 🇬🇷🥘. We opted for the Greek food. I had a minced steak stuffed with feta cheese, served with fries and onions – absolutely delicious. It was preceded by a crispy starter salad, a regional white wine, and finished with ouzo. The food was excellent – absolutely delicious 😋🍷. 4. Waiting Time Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time – both for the drinks and the food. This was obviously due to a lack of staff. It's understandable that it takes a while when the place is full, but there was a lack of table service ⏳. 5. Overall Conclusion A great restaurant with excellent cuisine, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. The only drawbacks were the long wait times and the staff being overwhelmed when the place was full. Therefore, one star deducted. We would still come back anytime when we're in the area – especially for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy Greek food! 🍽️💯

Nice service, there were two of us and we were probably overwhelmed by the number of guests. We noticed one customer leave because it took too long. The food was good; my colleague raved about his bifteki. My gyro was drier than I'm used to. The portions were okay; I was full, and that's what matters. It's a good place to go for a meal.

I've walked past it many times and finally visited it. Large and varied menu and also a lunch menu. Good value for money, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere in a historic building.

Definitely recommended. I've never had any complaints about the food. When it's busier, orders take a little longer, but with two servers, it's not possible.

We've been going to the post office for almost 40 years. I've actually always neglected to write a review. I rarely do that. But everything here is just perfect. A very long-established restaurant in Neustadt. With walls approximately 1 meter thick, the dining rooms are pleasant even in summer. Meat lovers have a wide selection. The quality of the dishes has been consistently excellent for years.

The name "Zur Post" describes the experience quite well. A rather reserved friendliness, service with clear potential for improvement, and the food had a very distinctly frozen feel. The location in the old town, near the market square, is good.

If my restaurant is full and I can't keep up with orders, I have a few options: - Hire more people - Prepare customers that it might take longer Telling customers who haven't even had a drink in 30 minutes, "I only have two hands!" is not an option.

What a cheek! I've never been asked so persistently and clearly for a tip. Ridiculous!!! From the service, including the wait time, to the quality of the wine, which tasted watery, to the food. The ordered saumagen, sauerkraut, and bratwurst were swimming in frying fat. A snack bar would have been more appropriate.

Highly recommended! A restaurant steeped in history, where the old walls are said to have welcomed guests such as Kaiser Wilhelm and Bismarck. ;) Very extensive menu, mostly Greek, but also German, and truly delicious. We discovered this restaurant while passing through and wanted to have dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but we received a wonderful and very friendly welcome, even with our little dog. We spontaneously went to the Gasthaus zur Post on Saturday. Although we hadn't made a reservation, we were warmly welcomed at the entrance and given a nice table by the window. The menu is very rich. There are Greek and Palatinate specialties. The dishes are superbly prepared and very tasty. The portions are large. The price-performance ratio is absolutely great. I can really recommend this place! I rate the restaurant excellent 👍👍👍😀😀😀

If you are looking for the best gyros in Neustadt, you will find it here. Great food at reasonable prices and in a great portion. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. At the end there was an ouzo on the house. More than satisfactory!

We traveled by motorhome for the third time. We discovered this inn for the first time by chance. The side salad was very tasty and fresh. We had rump steak with fries and lamb with fries, both with herb butter. The meat is prepared on the charcoal grill and tastes extremely good. At the end there was an ouzo on the house. The staff was very attentive and friendly. One star deducted because the food was carelessly prepared. There is still room for improvement here, as everyone knows. Otherwise highly recommended, we would be happy to come back.

We stayed in Neustadt an der Weinstraße for one night and found the restaurant by chance on Google because it was also close to our hotel. I'm not one for writing reviews, but it was so great there that I have to leave one. Super nice service and the food was super tasty. Very child friendly. There was still dessert for my son, even though the kitchen was already closed. If I come to the place again, I will definitely eat there again. Price performance was also super good.

Service was extremely unfriendly. Orders the guests around. 1 menu for 4 people. Can only take order with number from menu. If you say “I would like to order the Wiener Schnitzel” you will starve in the restaurant. I didn't order anything to eat and just drank the beer I had already ordered (without a number!).

As soon as you enter, you can feel the warm atmosphere of this traditional house, which impresses with its central location and authentic Palatinate hospitality. I would particularly like to highlight the side salad – a true taste explosion of freshness and sophistication! The selection of salads, crunchy vegetables and perfectly coordinated dressings is simply unbeatable. And when it comes to meat, absolutely top quality is served here. The service is always courteous and attentive. You can tell that the employees are passionate about their jobs. A little tip: Be sure to reserve in advance, as the restaurant is often well attended due to its excellent reputation. The accessibility of the inn is particularly practical. There are entrances from both the Mittelgasse and the main street, and both are just a stone's throw from the impressive collegiate church. In the picturesque, sunny courtyard you can also enjoy food outdoors, which is a real highlight, especially on warm days. If you prefer to enjoy your meal at home, you can easily order take-away meals - the perfect service for a relaxing evening at home. The menu is impressively extensive and fulfills all wishes. The Palatinate specialties, which are prepared here authentically and with a lot of love, are particularly recommended. Conclusion: For me, the Gasthaus zur Post remains the first address in Neustadt when it comes to good food and a cozy atmosphere. Absolutely recommended!

We were in Neustadt for a concert and found the Gasthaus zu Post by chance for dinner and that was a good thing. Absolutely very, very friendly staff, a huge menu. We sat in the front area and could practically watch the staff cooking. Everything was always freshly prepared. Visually and tastefully top notch. The prices are also more than fair. In our opinion, the Post is an absolute must if you are looking for a restaurant in Neustadt.

Alles sehr fad. Kein wirkliches AH Erlebnis. Muss man kein zweites Mal aufsuchen.

Ein sehr guter Grieche. Ich war hier schon einige male. Das Gyros mit Käse überbacken ist gut (auch viel Käse), die Portionen sind auch für hungrige ausreichend. Das Bifteki mit Feta gefüllt, war auch sehr saftig und schmackhaft. Der Beilagensalat wird mit Essig und Öl mariniert und sogar der Krautsalat im Salat wie ich die Bohnen werden hausgemacht vorbereitet. Hier wird auch noch mit einem Holzkohlegrill das Essen zubereitet. Der Service ist nett, zuvorkommend und routiniert.

Essen eigentlich 3 1/2. Vom Grill frisch serviert waren das Fleisch ein Genuss und der Reis mit einer Soße lecker.

Traurig das man den Espresso zum Schluß bezahlen muss. Angeboten wurde Quzo bzw. Espresso dachten er ging auf das Haus..

Wieder mal ein Zufallsfund, beim Stadtbummel. Urige Atmosphäre, hohe Gewölbebögen, rustikale Bestuhlung. Große Tische, somit muss man sich wie früher, bei Fremden an den Tisch setzen, bringt meistens nette Gespräche. Der Servicemitarbeiter war sehr freundlich, umsichtig und flott. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht, trotzdem kamen die Getränke und die Speisen zügig. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist riesig und war sehr lecker . Die Fleischgerichte waren zu unserer Überraschung schön rosa gebraten(bei griechischen Lokalen eher selten). Dazu genossen wir leckeren regionalen Wein. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Das Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis ist hervorragend.
