During a training course in Rosenheim, we stopped at the "Gasthaus zum Stockhammer" in the evening. Even though it was the middle of the week, the restaurant was very busy. We received a warm welcome. The service staff was extremely quick and helpful. The Bavarian cuisine was hearty and delicious. I don't need to say much about one of my favorite beers. All in all, a fantastic evening. I'll be back next year.

Great pork knuckle, great beer, everything was great

A very nice and quaint restaurant. I was shown to a table immediately (Monday, 7 pm). I was served promptly by a friendly lady. The draft light beer was excellent. Then the pork knuckle arrived with two dumplings. The crackling was crispy, the meat tender, the dumplings perfect for soaking up the gravy, and the dark beer gravy was divine. It also came with a side of coleslaw, which was a refreshing change. All in all, the meal was outstanding, even fantastic. I'll definitely be back.

We made a last-minute reservation for 24 people and managed to get tables in this busy restaurant. The staff was super friendly and helped us choose food for those with food intolerances. Ate here again last night with a friend, make sure you are served by Vincent, the nicest in the whole city...the duck was amazing...a cozy restaurant in the center, Vincent the waiter is amazing, despite all the tables he looks after, he is attentive and courteous...I chose the half knuckle...the meat was tender, the sauce was great...the crust was amazing but unfortunately it was extremely salty, too salty for me...but please, tastes differ and I would gladly come back

We went to the restaurant for the second time, and it was very good. We made a point of trying a variety of dishes, and they were all very well served.

We were passing through and were looking forward to a truly Bavarian restaurant. After being seated by a very friendly waiter and placing our orders, the drinks arrived very quickly. However, when my roast pork was served, my good mood sank. When I saw the sauce, cough, I just thought, "Maggi?" It had nothing to do with roast pork sauce. The same sauce was on my husband's plate, which he ate with a baked schnitzel. It smelled of Maggi, tasted of Maggi, and was also too salty. The coleslaw that came with my roast pork was also too salty. Very disappointing for a Bavarian restaurant. I'd rather make my own roast pork at home. The sauce was nicely infused with carrots, onions, garlic, caraway, and dark beer. It's a shame, because the restaurant is very nice and the service was very attentive.

While passing through Rosenheim for a business trip, we discovered this restaurant by chance. After being turned away from other establishments due to the late hour (8:30 p.m., German restaurants close their kitchens quite early in the evening), we were happily welcomed to dine here. The restaurant is clean, well located on a pedestrian-only square, and the terrace is very pleasant. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and the kindness of the waitress. The meal was delicious, as was the beer....

A very cozy inn. The Leberkäse (meatloaf) with pretzel dumplings was excellent and beautifully presented, and the Käsespetzle (cheese spaetzle) is also highly recommended. The prices were absolutely reasonable. The service was friendly and prompt.

Very good, down-to-earth, Bavarian cuisine with excellent value for money, especially for this prime location in the heart of Rosenheim. In short: not a tourist trap; locals also enjoy it. The quaint, cozy, and well-kept dining rooms are located in a very interesting building. Service is extremely attentive and friendly. Naturally, it can get a bit noisy in the large dining room when it's busy. In summer, tables are also available outside the building on the pedestrian zone. A special feature: on special days, there are special events, such as a beer tapping ceremony and live music. My recommendation for Rosenheim!

It was recommended to us. We ordered the knuckle and roast. The knuckle was very well done, but the crust was excellent.

Absolutely fantastic service, the food was good and served quickly despite the restaurant being full. The drinks were cold, and despite all warnings, the glasses were full and never below the fill line. So, all in all, nothing to complain about.

The Gasthaus Stockhammer in Rosenheim is a prime example of how a restaurant should not be run. The service is an absolute disaster. The waiters appear helpless, unmotivated, and arrogant. Instead of doing their jobs, they stand around, talk to each other, laugh loudly, and ignore the guests as if they were completely insignificant. We sat there for more than 15 minutes without a single server having the decency to greet us or ask for our order – even though several employees walked past our table several times. One waiter with a large beard was particularly negative. Just his look made it clear: If you don't tip here, you can't expect any kindness or respect. A disgusting attitude that has no place in the restaurant industry. This behavior isn't just poor work – it's a disgrace. It shows that there is no professionalism at all here, and that the management of the establishment clearly has no control over its staff. From top to bottom, disinterest, incompetence, and disrespect prevail. Instead of welcoming guests, these people are destroying the reputation of the entire city of Rosenheim. To be honest: Such employees would be better off staying home and collecting government support than dragging an entire restaurant into the abyss as "working staff." They are ruining guests' trust, damaging the region's gastronomy, and contributing to Rosenheim's reputation – albeit as a place of miserable hospitality. I sincerely hope this restaurant soon feels the harsh consequences for this outrageous behavior. Treating guests like this should never go unchallenged. Anyone who treats people like this has no place in the hospitality industry; they should simply be weeded out.

Unfortunately, the roast pork was lukewarm and very fatty! The waiter was VERY loud, rude, and insulting to my husband, so he didn't get a tip! The atmosphere was nice, but they just handled people like that!

Today was certainly an exception, with the start of the Autumn Festival in Rosenheim. A bustling atmosphere, yet very friendly service, and prompt service for drinks and food.

Four of us went to Stockhammer today with a long reservation and were really looking forward to it – unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. We were seated outside in the rain under an umbrella and the waiter rudely told us, "We could always leave." Our request to pack up the food because of the heavy rain was met with repeated annoyances and silence, instead of considering the entire table. Comments like "it was worth it, the short time" and "I told you so" from the waiter were extremely unprofessional. We found it particularly disrespectful that when we paid, our card was simply taken from our hand and then placed on the table in the rain. When we left without a tip (because tipping is a voluntary acknowledgement of good service), we received a sarcastic "Thanks for the tip." Of course, there's no tip for bad service. The portions are also very small compared to the high price. That's not how you treat guests. We were truly disappointed and won't be coming back. If you're looking for good service and a welcoming atmosphere, this is unfortunately not the place for you.

We actually just wanted a drink. At first, we weren't allowed to sit at our preferred table outside. Then we were told to sit next to another couple, which wasn't a problem for us, but we didn't quite understand why, as there were still plenty of tables free, including small ones. When we said we just wanted a drink, we were told it wasn't possible because of lunchtime and food. It was already after 2 p.m. and there were still several tables free. We couldn't understand that. The service was very unfriendly. We were then served very friendly by the person across the table.

The terrace is especially popular on nice days – so I recommend reserving a table in advance. The service is always friendly and cheerful, and they also offer a changing lunch menu, which I find very positive. Outside, parasols provide pleasant shade, so you can eat in a relaxed atmosphere even in summer. We've been there twice in a row now. Once I ordered sirloin steak, and on the second visit, roast beef with onions. Unfortunately, both dishes were served almost cooked, despite my request for medium. The meat was tender, but not as prepared as I would have liked – especially at prices over €27 per dish, you can expect a bit more. Therefore, I personally wouldn't order steaks in the future. Nevertheless, I don't want to criticize the cuisine or the restaurant as a whole: the atmosphere is lovely, and inside, you can still feel the old, traditional style of bygone years. Even though parking is rather scarce in the city center, there are plenty of parking garages nearby. All in all: a recommendable restaurant in Rosenheim – especially for visitors or vacationers who appreciate good food and a rustic atmosphere. Just be a little cautious with the steak dishes.

When we are on holiday at Lake Chiemsee, we always make a detour to Rosenheim and the Gasthaus Stockhammer in the pedestrian zone.

I really wanted to eat pork knuckle. I was in the right place. Highly recommended. The terrace was packed, including a Bavarian band and a freshly tapped keg. I think it's typically Bavarian. If you like that, you should stop by. Those who prefer a quieter place should be aware that it can get loud. "It's tapped"...

Beautiful central location on Max-Josef-Platz in Rosenheim, with a great beer garden in the pedestrian zone. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food is typically Bavarian and very good.

Definitely recommended, in my opinion. I had a delicious snack there with a beer. Four stars, because almost anything could be improved. But that's easier said than done. My wife and I were lucky and got a table. Reservations are recommended.

The food was decent – breaded pork schnitzel with fries, and a kids’ menu of spaetzle with sauce. Everything was fine and as expected, but nothing that would really stand out for a top score. Service was a little on the slow side, and the fan on the terrace was buzzing the whole time, creating quite a bit of background noise. On the plus side, the Radler was excellent.

We had made a reservation for the evening and got a table after a very short wait. Our drink order was taken very quickly, as were the food orders and the drinks served. However, we then waited almost an hour for our food, while other tables that arrived after us already had their food on their tables, which was a shame. The taste was excellent, though, so I'm only deducting one point for the long wait. The price was reasonable for what was offered.

We stayed in Rosenheim for three nights, and we enjoyed our first meal at the Stockhammet so much that we went back the very next evening. Excellent food and very friendly, typically Bavarian service.

Our expectations were exceeded. Cozy, with very attentive staff. The food is freshly prepared and tastes excellent. And to top it all off, the Flözinger. We'd love to come back.

We wanted to have a drink at this beer pub, which still had seats available outside on a Monday in a very empty city, and were rudely asked to leave because we didn't want anything to eat. A real shame.

When we were in Rosenheim a while ago, all of the kids were rumbling, and since we were in town, Wiebke and his wife spontaneously decided to go to this restaurant. The service was very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was great. The food was good, home-style fare, but nothing special. It lacked a bit of zest here, and the fried potatoes were a bit burnt there—small mistakes that shouldn't happen. After all, they cost money, and you can expect something. Overall, as mentioned, it was okay.

The food was delicious; we had to wait a bit longer for our food, but that was understandable given the crowd. Unfortunately, when we paid by card, a frustrated server tried to force us to tip using a touchscreen with tipping options (we're only familiar with this from the United States). That was a real shame, because otherwise, this restaurant is highly recommended.

Nice restaurant, right on the market square. The food, however, was rather mediocre; the cheese spaetzle was rather mediocre. The knuckle of pork was okay, a bit too salty and dry. The dumplings with sauce were rather tasteless. The service was very rushed, but that was due to the restaurant being very busy and therefore understaffed. The prices were reasonable. Few vegetarian dishes.
