We went to the Gasthaus zum Rad in Aulendorf for the first time with colleagues to celebrate Christmas, and unfortunately, we were disappointed. The service was unfriendly and inattentive – we had to wait a very long time for our drinks. The food tasted okay, but the portions were rather small and quite expensive compared to other restaurants. Overall, it wasn't a good experience for us, and we won't be going back.

Very good food. Currently, they're having Hungarian specialty weeks.

The restaurant is located in a historic building. Parts of the restaurant have exposed ceilings, allowing visitors to admire them. The restaurant features a knight's cellar, appropriately decorated. In the restaurant proper, knightly charm meets modernity, which is very well done. The menu is in the form of a newspaper that you can take home. I had a roast beef with onions and spaetzle. I ordered medium rare, but received rare, which wasn't a problem for me personally. The food was delicious. The dessert was also delicious. The service was professional and friendly.

We celebrated our wedding at Gasthaus Rad in July and are absolutely thrilled. The Convent room was perfect for us, just the right size and a wonderful atmosphere for our celebration. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The entire team was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always on hand; no one had to wait long for food or drinks, and our guests felt completely at home. The food was fantastic, and we received nothing but compliments from everyone. It was an unforgettable day for us, and we owe that to Gasthaus Rad and its wonderful team.

We redeemed a voucher, and it was delicious :) A truly fantastic four-course meal. I highly recommend the restaurant!

I opted for the Aulendorfer Schlosstöpfle (a kind of stew of pork) and was looking forward to the pork medallions with spaetzle. Well done, actually a poem and a classic... I couldn't finish the pork medallions because they tasted so strongly of pork. They should have noticed this when they were searing, and served a different cut of meat. You can also smell the quality. The spaetzle from the Radwirtin (a local inn) reminded me more of convenience food than homemade. The cream sauce was average. All in all, for the price and the quality of the place, there's still a lot of room for improvement. A shame.

I've never left a cheese spaetzle in my life. But these were so disgusting, greasy, and salty that I left half a plate behind despite being hungry. I called the restaurant manager, who promised to look into it. He should. I don't understand the good reviews here. Mountain cheese and homemade spaetzle taste different. That's my favorite dish. My wife's Sauerbraten wasn't a delicacy either. The next day, she had diarrhea, the first time in 32 years. Something should change in the kitchen.

A very nice beer garden, very cozy even for a snack. Friendly, great service and a delicious sausage salad. The fried potatoes could be a little less oily 😉 Otherwise, definitely worth a visit again.

We ate at the Ritterkeller. It's not just a meal, it's an event. The food is amazing, the bread tastes fantastic, fresh, and crispy. The soup is also hearty and delicious, the Hergottspscheiserle or dumplings are tasty, and the meat is juicy and plentiful. A true feast for the palate. The waiters are smart and quick. The cupbearer explains the table rules and manners with wit and charm, which one must adhere to, otherwise one will be locked in the snare room. I "met" the third cupbearer this time, and he was great and entertaining. The other two always had stories to tell, which were shared from time to time, which wasn't the case this time. But it didn't detract from the evening in any way. It was a wonderful evening with friends, an evening to remember fondly.

Mushroom ravioli with chanterelles. Pure disappointment: hard dough, flavorless filling, a few watery chanterelles, all nicely decorated, like convenience food. My tablemates received their meat dishes without any side dishes, and after about 15 minutes, the spaetzle and fries were served. Techno music blared from the speakers in a reverberant dining room, who cares? The service staff were nevertheless very attentive and friendly. My recommendation: a smaller selection on the menu, but with good quality.

Very nice, wind-protected outdoor area! Highly recommend the gourmet pork schnitzel, although they served spaetzle and cream sauce instead of fries. ;) We got a seat without a reservation, so be prepared to wait a while for your food.

We ate here after our civil wedding. Short version: everything was more than great and absolutely recommended! Longer version: The menu coordination was very relaxed and was put together according to our wishes. The room for 22 people was great. With an open fire, large windows and very nice decorations. The food was incredibly delicious. We and all of our guests were super satisfied! You can taste the good ingredients and the skills of the kitchen team. All the employees were extremely courteous and in a great mood. It seems like a nice place to work. The inn is also absolutely convincing with the champagne reception in the dungeon and the many different impressions you get here! If you are looking for a location for nice celebrations, meetings or dinner, we can warmly recommend the inn! We would like to thank all the staff at the inn! Keep it up!!

Our main courses were a lot of fun. The dessert, a creme brulee, was wonderful. The price-performance ratio is simply TOP. The newly redesigned restaurant looks very beautiful and extraordinary. We really enjoyed the evening and would really like to come back.

Wir haben eine Familienfeier im Gasthaus zum Rad abgehalten. Das Ambiente ist ganz wunderbar, gemütlich und mit ausgesprochen viel Geschmack eingerichtet. Das Essen war perfekt, anders kann und will ich es nicht beschreiben. Für die Preise schaut auf die "rad-zeitung," die ich abfotografiert habe. Zu der ausgesprochen angenehmen Atmosphäre trägt auch das Personal bei. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können das Gasthaus nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

I was really looking forward to this evening, it was a business lunch. I decided on surf and turf because I finally wanted to try it, unfortunately I was disappointed. 3 shrimps that were actually cold when served and a very mixed piece of beef that was impossible to cut with this knife. Briefly summarized: 3 cold shrimps, a piece of beef that couldn't be cut and 500g of fries for 40 euros. Sure, you can have bad luck with the beef, but for 40 euros I just expect more. For me the price-performance ratio was absolutely not right, ambience or not. Unfortunately, very disappointing for me personally.

Every course was perfect. The waiters were all friendly and attentive. Lunch was also delicious. The atmosphere was harmonious. Every evening all the seats were occupied. No chance without a reservation.

Here 5 stars are an understatement.Glass with lighting and multimedia, in harmony with the walls and inventory.You definitely have to use the toilets.The way there is breathtaking. We had 2 dishes and drinks that were excellent. The service was courteous, friendly and perfectly attentive. You rarely find such service in the catering industry. We can recommend this restaurant to everyone with a clear conscience. What a lovely dinner! Above all, there is a decent selection for vegetarians and vegans, which doesn't seem to be common in this area. The cheese spaetzle and veg. Maultaschen were excellent and filling, as was the dessert. Very friendly, quick service in a nice atmosphere. Fair prices. If we are in the area again we would love to come back!
