Gasthaus Zum Hirsch in Hausach

I've had two visits for dinner, both late and early. The first time was around 8 p.m. one August afternoon, having been bounced from another nearby restaurant where we weren't welcome. They were friendly here, and we enjoyed our meal. So much so that we returned another evening after returning from the day's excursion at an early hour. They offered us hot food without any problem. As the evening progressed, the atmosphere became more lively.

It was recommended to us for gluten-free dining. They even serve gluten-free breaded schnitzel. The kids loved it. We absolutely loved it, and the staff was super friendly. If we're ever in the Kinzig Valley again, we'll definitely be back!

Yes, I can recommend it. Reservations are also recommended. The service was friendly and good. The drinks and food were delicious and plentiful. There's also plenty of parking behind the building.

Arguably the best restaurant in Hausach, a wonderful family business. For years, and no matter how busy it is, the quality of the food has been consistently excellent. The value for money is absolutely spot on. The service is enthusiastic, friendly, and prompt, even at peak times in the summer. Reservations are always recommended, as the place is almost always full.

I can only report on the inn: quite quaint and family-friendly. Everything is delicious. I like to stop here after my Brandenkopf hike. And, unlike the rest of the Kinzig Valley, everything here is still really affordable. A "must" for me when I'm in the Kinzig Valley. I really enjoy staying here because the price-performance ratio is still right. A village inn, just as you'd wish (and which there should be more of). Einbach, actually a scattered settlement, isn't really a village, more of a "Dörfle," but in two kilometers you're in Hausach (to which it also belongs) and thus directly on the B 33. I'll be staying here overnight after being really disappointed with my "regular hotel" in Haslach-Schnellingen (see my last review).

Good food, quite large portions for the price, and you can also order smaller ones, making it a good value for money. Friendly and fast service. The interior is rustic and inviting. There's seating outside right in front of the restaurant. It's often advisable to make a reservation in advance, as it's usually busy, but you might be able to find a spot for two people. It's right off the street, and there's free parking right on site.

We visited this restaurant today and were truly impressed. The outdoor ambiance was lovely, with the stream running nearby. The food was cooked to perfection and truly juicy and tender. We had the rump steak with pepper cream and the veal schnitzel with spaetzle and cream sauce. We ordered a salad to go with it. The dressing was delicious, but it also had radish and zucchini on it, which wasn't really my thing. My partner enjoyed it. The value for money was absolutely fine. The portions were quite large and sufficient for hearty eaters.

I've only been to the restaurant, but the food was delicious and the service was great. I absolutely loved it. Especially the rumpsteak, so flavourful and juicy. The meat almost melted in my mouth. The homemade apfelmost was good.

We ate there and were served very well overall. The staff was friendly, and the food arrived quickly. The only thing that deducted a star was if you asked to have your food boxed. We didn't finish our meal, and it cost us €1 to have it boxed. That's really cheeky 🥴 We've never experienced that before. We weren't even informed about it.

I thought the food was delicious, but my wife thought it was good (pork steak). The service was good and friendly, considering the stress and the wait. The food came quickly. While we were eating, we were approached by at least four waiters, asking if everything was OK. I think that's almost a bit too much, but it's better than being ignored. The outside seating is great. There was a lot going on, and overall, everything was good. Thanks to the "Monika" team.

One of the Best Dining Experiences I've Ever Had! This restaurant is truly one of the best I’ve ever eaten at. The dishes were absolutely delicious, with a wide variety to choose from — and each portion was generous and satisfying. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the entire atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Everything was clean and beautifully maintained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

A spontaneous stop during an evening outing. We easily found a seat on the terrace. The service was very friendly, and the Maultaschen were so incredibly delicious that we'll be back again for that reason alone.

The food is classic Baden cuisine, very tasty, and the portions are large (although you can order a smaller portion for less). The value for money is excellent. But you should make a reservation, as we're not the only ones who enjoy it.

Highly recommended! Super delicious, friendly service...

We went there because of the good reviews and were unfortunately disappointed. It started as soon as we walked in. The man behind the bar ignored us for ages, and when we approached him, we were told to wait. The beer had to be poured first. The food didn't arrive. One person had to wait another 10 minutes for their food. Even with a full house, this shouldn't be happening.

We can't understand why the food is receiving so much praise in other reviews. In our opinion, it tastes just okay. Unfortunately, the staff was a negative for us. Aside from the young man at the counter, the staff seemed to lack friendliness, or at least politeness and proper manners.

We've enjoyed going to Monika for years. We generally like the food, but there's far too little to offer vegetarians. The recent price increases have been too high.

A completely successful visit! The food was simply delicious and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The walk from Hausach to the restaurant was a real highlight thanks to the wonderful weather. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by a tastefully decorated and immaculately clean dining room. A great experience – absolutely deserved 5 out of 5 stars!

A bit away from the main road and the main town but the food is really top notch.👍 However, it is advisable to reserve in advance as it is quite busy. (At least on weekends.)

Sausage salad with no taste other than the taste from the fridge, the bread at least three days old, the schnitzel cooked to death, suck it out of the package. We didn't sit for 5 minutes before the food came, so I'd rather drive a little further to the käppeleshof

Visit on the evening of September 21st, 2024. I chose the restaurant with two friends based on the positive reviews (4.8 out of 5.0 points on Google Maps) and visited it in the early evening. The location of the property is rather atypical, away from busy streets in a village. For this location, we were very surprised at the high capacity utilization of the outdoor dining area. To our astonishment, every last seat in the indoor dining area was full or reserved. We were then given space in the outdoor dining area by the friendly staff. I ordered a salad and the pork schnitzel with fries and gravy, my friends ordered the pork fillet with mushroom cream sauce and homemade spaetzle. Finally, I can only say that all dishes were to our complete satisfaction. Not only was the taste very good, the preparation and quality of the products used was also outstanding. Both of my schnitzels were nice and thin, tenderly pounded and with a very nice breading, as it should be, tossed in the pan with plenty of oil. The breading was already peeling off and also showed the desired bubble formation. The fact that this restaurant, located off a main road, was so busy can only be explained by consistently high quality in combination with reasonable prices. This restaurant seems to be an insider tip among the locals. I can fully recommend this restaurant and will happily come back there. A big compliment to the kitchen.

We passed the inn on a hiking tour and spontaneously ate there. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. We sat outside in summer temperatures. The service was very well organized, friendly and quick, even with busy tables. We would always stop there again on our next hiking tour through this very beautiful and quiet place.

We only went there for food, but it was super tasty. The service was very friendly despite a lot of hustle and bustle. Romanesque atmosphere in the evening. There is even a small playground for children.

Nous avons passé 2 semaines au Gasthaus zum Hirsch avec notre chien. Le petit déjeuner est pantagruelique, avec charcuteries de leur ferme et pain cuit sur place. En Allemagne on mange très tôt. A 17 h il y a déjà des clients locaux. Il faut impérativement réserver car vers 19-20h, malgré une centaine de places avec la grande terrasse,c'est complet. On y mange des plats de viande de leur ferme, copieux et délicieux. En saison il y a du gibier chassé dans les environs. Nous avons tout goûté, le potage aux boulettes de moëlle, les saucisses, boudins noirs, escalopes de porc ou de veau, les steak de boeuf, la choucroute, les assiettes de charcuterie qu'ils appellent "Vesper" le tout accompagné de frites, de croquettes, pommes dauphines, de späzle ou pain pour les plats froids. Bien sûr, la bière coule à flot (avec modération bien entendu) mais ils ont de très bon vins comme le Tröllinger un vin rouge qui vaut le détour. Desserts classiques, glaces, crème brûlée, panacota etc. Rapport qualité prix, pour nous deux, nous avons payé entre 50€ pour 2 plats et 80€ pour 3 plats ce qui n'est pas cher vu les quantités de viandes servies. Nous y retournerons, c'est certain.

Une famille très accueillante aux petits soins pour ses hôtes. Un large sourire du matin au soir. Une cuisine authentique faite de produits locaux. Un petit déjeuner gargantuesque composé de divers pains "maison" charcuteries, œufs, confiture, miel, fruits,.....et + ++ Une chambre agréable avec salle de bain et WC privés. Les portes du paradis ?

The location is very beautiful and simply idyllic. With the stream and the babbling, it's wonderful. The marrow dumpling soup was delicious, the meat was very tender! The homemade spaetzle is a dream! The restaurant is very lovingly furnished, you immediately feel at home. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Absolutely fantastic! The best restaurant we went to on our two-week Black Forest vacation. Sauces, at star level, quality of all products is top, home cooking can't really be better for these prices. A must for every gourmet who wants to eat on Uhrenstrasse.

We were invited to a celebration. The main course was sirloin and schnitzel. At the beginning everyone only got 1 loin because the schnitzels weren't ready. Afterwards, half schnitzels were served. The whole table was without meat, you almost had to beg for another piece of meat. Instead of putting a platter on the table, meat was only served very sparingly. By now the side dishes were cold. A pity?? That's not one of them "Monika" used to. .

There are times when you just want a real pub. A real Black Forest inn, no frills, no eco, no fusion, where bacon is still greasy, the schnitzels are crispy, the sun shimmers through the chestnuts and ALL the service staff are called Monika. This is this place.

Great, rustic Black Forest inn. With excellent cuisine and generous portions. On request there is also a “children’s plate”.😉

One of the best guesthouses in the area, if not the best. The food was very good and the conditions were always very friendly. The guest rooms are also very well maintained and always beautifully decorated. When we go out to eat, Gasthaus Monika is always our first choice 👍 Glad you exist ☺️

Eine der besten Gaststätten in der Region. Gutbürgerliche Küche. Man kann essen was man möchte, alles schmeckt sehr gut. Da wird noch mit Liebe gekocht und noch dazu zu einem fairen Preis. Reservieren ist mittlerweile ein MUSS, auch unter der Woche!

Super Essen, macht einen familiären Eindruck. Garten Wirtschaft ist super... Man sollte eventuell Platz reservieren.

Du willst deutsche traditionelle Küche genießen dann bist du hier genau richtig. Das Essen ist sehr sehr lecker und das Personal freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich komme oft und gerne hier her. Meine Empfehlungen sind aufjedenfall der Blattsalat mit Ziegenfrischkäse, der Salat mit Lachs und die Schweinemedallions mit Spätzle/ Pommes in Championrahmsoße und als Dessert das Panna Cotta. Super schöner außen Bereich aber in der Wirtschaft ist es auch sehr gemütlich. Kinder können gut toben und sogar ein kleiner Spielplatz ist vorhanden. Barrierefrei.

Die Spätzle sind hausgemacht. Super lecker alles. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich empfehle zu reservieren.
