Unfortunately, the tarte flambée is very tasteless. The place could use a bit of a refresh.

Even though I'm already expecting a rude reaction from the owner to this review, I have to submit this review and unfortunately say that we weren't satisfied here either. It was the end of May, and we sat in the lovely outdoor area, which at least has potential for improvement if it were given a little more care. We ordered bruschetta and a tarte flambée, nothing special really. The tarte flambée was quite good, the bruschetta was a disgrace... Well, they were the same ones Grandma Gerda occasionally serves from the oven, and they come from a frozen delivery truck... I explicitly asked the waitress about it because I've never had warm bruschetta topped with cheese. I was explicitly and repeatedly told that it was homemade, which is definitely not the truth. The price of €9.90 for four small, pre-baked things and the small salad garnish from a can is also a case of attention control. Peter would say I was ripped off. I'm sorry to say this so harshly, but I don't need to go to a restaurant; I can handle it better at home. Grandma Gerda can, too.

A wonderfully cozy beer garden, attentive service, and excellent food. We'll definitely be back.

We spontaneously went there one Sunday evening in August and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was truly delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was quaint; you felt like you were sitting in someone's "garden." We would come back.

A group of about ten of us went to eat at the Adler after a covered wagon tour. The atmosphere in our group was excellent, and we were looking forward to a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. A blonde lady. The waitress who served us seemed very unfriendly and had a noticeably bad mood, which spoiled the overall impression. I have experience in the restaurant industry myself and find it completely inappropriate to take one's mood out on guests. Of course, everyone has a bad day, but a certain level of professionalism should be a given in service – after all, the guests can't do anything about it. One positive thing, however, is that the food was truly outstanding! Very tasty dishes at a fair price. This ultimately saved the evening and will remain in our memories.

Beautiful place, but the waitress is incredibly unfriendly. It's a shame, because the restaurant is fantastic.

Some of the staff are clueless, overwhelmed, and prefer to devour guests who want something to eat, but a little further away is a recommended restaurant. We had a seat!

This is probably what it's like on the Kaiserstuhl! Good food, good wine, and simply fantastic gastronomy! The owners anticipate your every wish...

A very nice, small, and charming old inn. A great little salad plate, everything fresh and beautifully decorated. A delicious vegetarian tarte flambée with homemade pesto. A good schnitzel with exceptionally tasty fries. Good prices in a historic setting. I highly recommend this place.

We visited on Boxing Day and were delighted. Not only were all the dishes freshly prepared, but they were also kind enough to make us mashed potatoes and carrots for our 9-month-old daughter! Super friendly and accommodating staff! Highly recommended! Best regards, the Schönen family.

We were there yesterday with our guests, and the food was delicious. The staff was very nice and friendly, and they even looked after our dogs.

It was our first time there and we were very satisfied. The homemade carrot and ginger soup was amazing, and everything else was excellent too. The service, the owner and his wife, were all very friendly. We'd love to come back.

Every year we regularly dine at the Gasthaus zum Adler during our vacation and are always thrilled by the excellent food, which is always fresh and prepared with a lot of love. The Maultaschen made by the chef himself and the great salad plates are particularly praiseworthy. The schnitzel dishes with the delicious Brägele are really recommended. The service is always very friendly, warm and attentive. We especially love the ambience in the garden and look forward to being here as guests every time.

Unfortunately, the service was an absolute disaster; we received a very unfriendly welcome. We also received feedback from other guests about how rude the service was (a blonde lady with glasses). We won't be coming back and will also advise our friends and family in the Kaiserstuhl area against a visit! It's a shame, as the ambiance is lovely.

We ate at Adler three times during our vacation. As always, we were very satisfied. We particularly enjoyed the homemade Maultaschen and the Coq au vin. Helmut Esper is a great chef with always new ideas. The service staff were again very nice and professional. We are looking forward to the next vacation 😃

Went in with 8 people and ordered across the menu. Quality and service were excellent. The wine selection was also excellent. Always my pleasure.

We came here on foot in the evening. A small restaurant and friendly service. Unfortunately, we had varying levels of satisfaction with the food. As a starter we had a delicious, simple tomato soup. Plus Riegeler country beer in a mug... Very tasty! My wife had a schnitzel/steak on cheese-baked toast with fries and salad. Which was very good! I had cheese spaetzle with salad, which was served in advance. The cheese spaetzle were quite dry and, in my opinion, ready-made and not homemade. And the onion on top wasn't melted fresh ones, but rather pre-made fried small onion pieces from a can. Overall I was not satisfied and would not recommend this dish. Still recommended because the overall impression was positive

We always like to come back, good food, nice service.

By chance I found an invoice from June 2002. We remember the excellent food, fish duo, funghi noodles, strawberry ice cream and pancakes. Good red wine + mirabelle plum. Room number 2 was also ok. Nice terrace and evening walk with night watchman. Maybe we'll come again - greetings from the Aachen area

There is very good German cuisine here. The Maultaschen are awesome.

Sehr gastfreundlich immer wieder gern.

Wir waren jedesmal sehr zufrieden. Der Flammenkuchen sehr lecker, genau richtig gebacken, der Boden schön durch, Konsistenz fast wie Blätterteig. Die SchniPoSa (kleine Portionen) einwandfrei, die Schnitzel hochwertig und geklopft, einwandfreie Panade, der Salat recht groß und raffiniert, frischer Sellerie und Rotkraut mit dabei und mit Traube, Mirabellenschnitz und Feigenstücke ergänzt. Pommes genau wie sie sein sollen und gut ausreichend. Service schnell und sehr freundlich. EC-Karten Zahlung möglich. Von unserer Seite jederzeit und gerne wieder.

Sehr schöne, ruhig gelegene Gaststätte mit freundlicher, zuvorkommender Bedienung. Das Essen hat total lecker geschmeckt. Die Maultaschen sind handgemacht und das schmeckt man auch. Der große Salatteller mit den Maultaschen war frisch und bot allerhand Zutaten. Darunter auch frisches Obst. So einen leckeren Salatteller habe ich noch nie gegessen. Die Soße war super lecker. Auch der kleine Salatteller ist für einen kleinen Salatteller verhältnismäßig groß und man bekommt hier viel für sein Geld geboten.

Schöner Außenbereich. Der Soße beim Lachs war überragend.

Lecker Salat und frisch ich verstehe nicht warum manche Leute solche negative Sachen schreiben wir waren zu fünf und alle waren zufrieden, essen lecker . Personal und chef so nett und freundlich . Ich kann nur weiterempfehlen ein Tipp von mir lieber vorher Tisch reservieren weil dort ist wirklich viel los.

Das Essen wird liebevoll angerichtet, der Service ist wirklich sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt außerdem. Meine Frau und ich hatten am heißen Sonntag während des Burkheimer Künstlermarkts einen Tisch im beschatteten Gartenbereich und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Überrascht leckeres frisch zubereitetes Essen, Koch geht auf Wünsche ein, Bedienung ist zuvorgekommen und freundlich. Was will man mehr. Hätte ich bei gutbürgerlich nicht erwartet. 5 Sterne 🌟 gerne wieder

War mit meiner Radsportgruppe dort.! Haben draußen gesessen. Gemütliche Atmosphäre. Bedienung war, so wie ich mir das immer gerne wünsche. Top! Essen, durchweg sehr gut.! Und. Hammer Portionen.! Nur zu empfehlen. Restaurant: Zum Adler, und die Alte Schmiede, die Besten Empfehlungen von meiner Seite aus.! Nach einiger Zeit wieder hier gewesen.! Essen gut.! Pommes Klasse mit der Sauce. Dieses Mal in der Gaststätte mit meiner Frau.! Hat uns sehr gefallen.!!!! Weiter so... Nach einem Jahr wieder beim Adler gewesen.! Einfach nur Klasse.! 6Sterne! Muß die Rezession überdenken.! 7 Sterne . Das ist vom Essen und Bewirtung schon oberste Klasse. Der Wirt ist mit dem Herzen dabei.!

Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen und die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr freundlich :-) das Schnitzel wurde frisch geklopft und paniert, die Pommes waren heiß, gut gewürzt und auf den Punkt fertig! Rundum super auch wenn das Ambiente dies erstmal nicht vermuten lässt ;-)
