The smoked trout was sensational, and the chef was very personable. Unfortunately, one waitress seemed stressed. Nevertheless, we'll be back.

Questionable dump. I've been there twice and I'll never go back. Card payments? None – only cash, which is ridiculous in 2025. Friendliness? Customer service? Hygiene? They don't have that here. The waitress was not only unfriendly, but also dressed in completely unkempt house clothes. Guests were pushed to the checkout while they were eating. Thanks for nothing. * The unfriendliness of the staff is evident in their answers on Google Maps – and that's exactly how you'll be served there.

It tasted good. Afterwards, we wanted to use the restroom and had to listen as the boss ordered the busy and stressed waitress to clear our table promptly. We hoarded the seats, sitting lazily with our legs wide apart. If we spoke up quietly, we were spoon-fed... what a pity... a well-deserved day off (all the guests here are working hard for this family-friendly outing).

It was completely overcrowded, and the staff were completely overwhelmed with their customers, which prevented us from having more than a shandy. The food itself looked good, but the service took a long time. The food wasn't served at the same time for everyone at the table. But that's just my impression; we just watched and sipped our drinks.

We were there today. The waitress was very unfriendly and obviously completely annoyed and overwhelmed. We asked for a trout to go twice. Her response was, "I don't know if that's possible today." But it's posted. When we finished eating, we were practically forced to pay. Never again

Just imagine this delicacy: freshly smoked trout, still warm, alongside absolutely fantastic homemade potato salad, and a view of the lake... And that's not all! Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. We arrived in beautiful sunshine as an unannounced group of 11 people shortly before the main meal time around 11am. Unfortunately we didn't feel welcome. The tone of the female waiter was very unfriendly towards us and other guests. We were more or less complimented out after 45 minutes. Very unfortunate. I give the 3 stars 'ambience' for the lake view from the terrace. The 2 stars 'food' are for the children's menu.

Anyone who goes off on such a verbal rampage should change their industry. If you insist on cash and don't accept card payments, you shouldn't be surprised if your customers are duped. I'm thinking of going out for dinner here with the whole family for our anniversary, but given the host's digital eloquence, I'll save myself an analogue visit... Where there is a will, there is a way! Where there is no will, you can talk your way out of it with cycle paths! 🤦‍♀️

I don't really care about your motives for not offering cash payments in the 21st century, but if you're insulting my wife or questioning the way we raise our children, then that's not okay. When answering reviews, they called authors stupid and portrayed themselves as smart and successful entrepreneurs. That's not right. You yourself haven't even managed to create a proper and legally compliant imprint with the mandatory information on your website. By the way, cash does not make you independent, but rather offers the possibility of eliminating undocumented payments. Because unlike cashless payment transactions, the payer's personal details are not linked to the payee's data 🤔. Several customers expressed the desire to pay by card. Instead of taking customers' wishes seriously, you react with insults. What a great way to deal with customers. I'm glad that raising our children isn't your responsibility. Because unlike you, we don't just dictate our children's opinions, but involve them and encourage them to make their own decisions. What are you jealous of? You are a chef, run a snack bar, insult people, have no idea about payment methods and don't understand today's technology 😂. We were out in the park with our children and wanted to stop at the restaurant. We read on the card that only cash payment is possible. We then apologized and said that unfortunately we couldn't eat there because we didn't have that much cash with us. As a result, the innkeeper shouted after us in front of our children that we were becoming dependent and that only cash counted. In any case, today's time is over and the restaurant will no longer see us as guests. It's a shame actually. Update to owner's response: I find the answer subpar because you did not understand the content of the review. We are quite capable of reading. It's not that they don't offer card payments. That's your decision and it's ok - even if it's not contemporary. But you can clearly mark it outside, so every guest can decide straight away whether they can come in or not. It's about your tone and the way you interact with guests. And involving our children in the issue does not show greatness or respect. A nice evening to you and good luck in the future.

A restaurant in 2024 that foregoes card payments not only represents a hurdle to modern customer expectations, but also seems like a step back into the last century. At a time when more and more travelers and locals prefer to pay cashless, this decision seems downright anti-tourism. Why a basic service that has long been standard in other European countries is omitted in a tourist region remains questionable. The suspicion inevitably arises that the restaurateur is deliberately not making his income transparent by refusing to accept card payments. However, this is speculation and remains to be questioned. Nevertheless, the decision to insist on cash leaves an aftertaste that can arouse negative associations with guests. There is also another problematic element: it seems as if the owner is expressing his personal political views at the expense of his customers. Of course everyone has the right to their own opinion, but a restaurant is primarily a place of well-being and hospitality - making a political statement at this point could deter guests rather than attract them. Overall, this business conveys the image of a restaurant that rejects the spirit of the times and is confronted with unnecessary hurdles in a region that thrives on tourism. Guests want service, flexibility and the feeling of being welcome. Here, however, the guest seems to have to adapt.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, but Z.-Schnitzel simply doesn't exist anymore and the explanation from the lady in service, who referred to grandfathering and that's how we always did it, wasn't enough to show that this term is simply perceived as discriminatory by certain groups! It's a shame but it can't be changed. Unfortunately I can't respond to the owner's answer ;-( You have to sort out so much malice and crude/absurd statements in your little cobbled together brain! Discriminate and then see yourself as a victim🤮Dark Germany remains Dark Germany!

I have to be honest, I didn't expect that. Ready-made schnitzel from the deep fryer doesn't work at all. Waiters were apparently overwhelmed and clearly showed this, even though all guests were relaxed. In doing so, you created an unpleasant atmosphere, which shouldn't have been the case. Trout is supposed to be good, we found out later.

We were the last guests today, despite a full house the service was top and so was the food. The fresh trout and also the chicken are a poem. A worthwhile stop.

Unfortunately it all took a very long time. If we had been told this in advance, we would have gone further. After that we were no longer able to cancel our order. The seasonal salad variation is a simple leaf lettuce with tomatoes, plus 4 frozen potato wedges for just under €17, far too much in my opinion. Apparently the trout are a hit here ;-)

Let's start with the positive. The location is TOP. That's where it ends. The staff is totally overwhelmed and makes an annoyed impression. I was there 3 times on different days and seasons and it was always the same behavior, even from different staff. Important information: this location only has cash as a payment option, card payments are not accepted. However, this information was only given upon request; it could also be marked somewhere directly or noted on the map, for example. But that also seems to be asking too much or just inconvenient. Not accepting card payments in this day and age and in a location that is teeming with tourism is unbelievable to me. If a customer is dissatisfied, the operator doesn't seem to care, the next ones will come one way or another. I hope that more people don't keep their disappointment to themselves and publish legitimate criticism here openly and honestly. This store won't see me again As with other reviews, the operator's comments are underground. Instead of reflecting on criticism and converting it into an improvement, everyone complains about everything and looks for the fault in the guest other than themselves. For your information, I work my money properly and in a way that adds value and that's exactly why it annoys me when I want to invest the money I earn and my free time in a meal with my family when, as a guest, I don't receive the appreciation and service I deserve. The guests give their money to their shop and thus enable the employees and them to make a living, so you can expect appreciation and professionalism. And again, no card payment is simply no longer appropriate today and if so, please mark it clearly. You should be ashamed of yourself. And rethink your profession, whether there is a shortage of skilled workers or not, gastronomy is a profession that you have to live and not just do. That's why not all people work in the catering industry or don't want to anymore.

In itself a beautifully located restaurant that we actually wanted to stop in for a coffee. However, our visit was almost ruined by the impossible behavior of the owner (?). In the crowded dining room he loudly and unmistakably stated that prams were under no circumstances allowed in the dining room, they would only make a mess. The tirade also affected the weather. The other service staff also seemed overwhelmed. Maybe there was a lot going on, maybe there were incidents within the team. But that belongs in the background and not in the guest room. And the plum cake was like the weather that was being insulted - pretty cold.

Small and fine inn with a view of Lake Wörlitz. The kitchen provided excellent food with smoked trout (house specialty) with potato salad and a piece of plum cake. Very tasty. The service was extremely polite and very accommodating, with a refreshing sense of humor at the same time. Great end to a visit to the Garden Kingdom!

Unfriendly service. Service snippy. We felt disruptive during our smoking break or just before finishing work (around 2 p.m.). Frozen apple strudel drowned in vanilla sauce with tons of cream! Selling instant coffee as latte is cheeky! Too bad!

We ate at the Gasthaus zum Seeblick today. The food was super tasty and was prepared and served with a lot of love. The team was super friendly and helpful. You can linger and relax on the terrace. Always happy and absolutely recommended.

A nice little restaurant with a view of the lake and fresh smoked trout every day. Except for the fish and vegetarian potato pockets, all dishes contain meat, including the potato salad (bacon). The food is delicious, but the selection is correspondingly small for vegetarians. The service is friendly and in the mood to joke. Danger! Cash only.

We often had great meals here. Food excellent and good prices. Unfortunately, you are forced to order lunch at 1 p.m., even though they advertise their own cake, which we would have liked to order. It's a shame that the Seeblick doesn't seem to appreciate customers who "just" want coffee and cake.

What a fine refuge right next to Wörlitzer Park. The smoked trout is a small culinary experience. Delicate smoke aroma and best fish quality. The service is attentive and entertaining. The price/performance ratio is right. We would be happy to come back and recommend the inn without reservation.

We would have loved to try it out, but payment was only possible in cash. It's a bit incomprehensible these days.

Here you only order 1 dish: the home-smoked trout. There is more on the menu, but this is really the highlight. The fresh, warm potato salad (with bacon) is also delicious!! Please note: it is not a fillet, so a little skill with cleaning fish is nice. But it's totally worth it. Nice enthusiastic service too! And finally: a view over the Worlitzer See (nahja.. lake) makes it complete!

That doesn't work at all! As a small group of 9 with slightly impaired people, we decided to round off our last day of vacation with a meal in Wörlitz, at the Gasthaus Seeblick. We had reserved and also stated beforehand that we would all pay individually. The service staff seemed very overwhelmed and stressed on our first visit. Today was even worse. The service staff was under so much pressure that a completely uneasy atmosphere spread. Since I was responsible for paying for individual clients as an employee, she was overwhelmed. The owner began insulting us angrily in front of other guests. Among other things, with the words we should eat in a cafeteria! The waitress cried and guests commented, "This is a great way to scare away guests!" as they were outraged by the owner's behavior. That really doesn't work at all! THIS ANSWER FROM THE HOST CLEARLY SHOWS THE LOW LEVEL AND THE ABSOLUTE OVERCHALLENGING. IT BECOMES VERY CLEAR WHO IS “MIRRIFYING” IN THEIR JOB. WE SPENT NORMAL TIME EATING. AND IF IT'S TOO MUCH FOR 9 PEOPLE TO PAY INDIVIDUALLY, THEN THAT'S VERY RIDICULOUS FOR A RESTAURANT.

Als Gruppe mit leicht eingeschränkten Menschen hatten wir uns entschieden unseren letzten Urlaubstag mit einem Essen in Wörlitz im Gasthaus Seeblick abzurunden. Wir hatten reserviert und auch zuvor angegeben, dass wir alle einzeln bezahlen. Die Servicekraft wirkte schon bei unserem ersten Besuch sehr überfordert und gestresst. Am heutigen Tag war es noch schlimmer! Der Druck der auf ihr lastete, führte zu einer völlig unentspannten Atmosphäre. Es bestätigte sich dann für uns, dass die arme Person sehr unter ihren Arbeitgebern litt, denn auch wir wurden vom Chef persönlich beschimpft! Es ginge nicht, dass ich als Mitarbeiterin für Klienten die nicht alleine bezahlen können, einzeln bezahle. U.a. schimpfte er lautstark wir sollten in eine Mensa zum Essen gehen! Die überforderte Servicekraft weinte verzweifelt, Gäste meinten: "So kann man Gäste vergraulen." Soetwas habe ich noch nie erlebt und muss sagen: Das geht garnicht!

Good little restaurant on the edge of Wörlitzer Park. Simple and good menu. Trout is smoked on site. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Large portions, good quality. Quiet location. Stairs to the outdoor terrace. There are no parking spaces directly at the restaurant.

100% highly recommend the following dishes: strawberry cake, smoked trout and champion schnitzel and normal schnitzel with potato salad. Service girls were at full capacity and still very nice There was a lot of coming and going, but the service still had an overview. A great break on the terrace. Would come back anytime :-)

The ambience right on the lake is a real eye-catcher. The service was very friendly, also towards the four-legged guests, courteous and funny. The food is worth every cent and can only be recommended. Fresh trout from the smoker oven in front of the restaurant. Fresh schnitzel and potato salad. There is something on the menu for all guests. We have full stars. We'd love to come back!

In a great location, with an elevated terrace, you have a beautiful view over the lake of the garden kingdom. The freshly smoked trout was wonderful. But the highlight were the hosts! Unfortunately, apart from the trout, nothing is homemade here. The potato salad was definitely out of the bucket and the schnitzel we ordered wasn't freshly made either. It's a shame, because the view is quite nice. According to the owner's responses to negative reviews, they don't want to change anything in the concept. Obviously there's no need, the shop is mostly frequented by tourists.

We drove up yesterday (Ascension Day) with 5 motorcycles. The boss made everything possible so that we could park our machines safely. The place was packed. The nice waitress said we should come back in 15 minutes. No sooner said than done, after 15 minutes we were seated in a very friendly manner. The food was extremely tasty, the freshly smoked trout (again from the boss himself) was a hit... CONCLUSION: Hospitality and friendliness are LIVED HERE. This hasn't happened to me in a long time (unfortunately). Highly recommended...

The inn is in a beautiful location directly on Lake Wörlitz. The food is very tasty. We chose chicken schnitzel with croquettes, champion cream sauce and salad.

We went to Seeblick for dinner today and had delicious freshly smoked trout with salad. We were served in a friendly and careful manner and it tasted very good. We were completely satisfied. Wörlitzer Park is beautiful and there are wonderful cycling and hiking trails.

I can recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Wörlitzer Park. Above all, the freshly smoked trout is simply a delight.

We always enjoy coming back. The smell of freshly smoked trout lures you into the inn, where the delicious trout is quickly served by a cheerful waitress. When the weather is nice, you can also serve on the terrace with a view of the lake.
