Gasthaus Ott in Villingen-Schwenningen

A lovely gourmet stopover on a Monday evening during the week, without reservations. A delicious meal with friendly service and comforting cuisine.

Felt like a British pub, servers were excellent, real cosy Interior, good cocktails.

It was very tasty! Rösti chicken. I recommend it! The meat was very juicy and tender. But it would have been great if there were a little less meat and at least some vegetables or greens on the plate. The portion is large enough to fill you up. Great.

Food was delicious and very plentiful

We were staying in Villingen for 6 nights, and we ate here twice as it was so good and the staff so welcoming and friendly! The menu has traditional meals and delicious salads and sides: the schnitzel and cordon bleu were amazing, and the rosti - and the salads - and everything!

A definite recommendation for lovers of home-style cooking! Very attentive and friendly staff. The food is high-quality, homemade, and made from regional ingredients. The rösti dishes with meat (chicken and shredded beef fillet) are highly recommended! The meat was cooked to perfection and super juicy. The portions are filling and well worth the price. The food arrived quickly. The seating is comfortable, and the restaurant is regularly open for lunch.

(Visit in July 2025) We traveled from Berlin as a group – four adults, two children, and two toddlers – and would like to share our consistently positive experience at Gasthaus Ott. The restaurant impresses as soon as you enter, with its stylish yet inviting ambiance. The rooms are spacious, very tastefully decorated, and absolutely clean. The restrooms are also well-maintained, which is especially noticeable during a family visit. There's plenty of space, with many different seating options – ideal for larger groups like ours. The staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and well-prepared for families. Our children were immediately taken into consideration without us having to ask. You feel taken seriously as a guest – no matter how young or old you are. It's a place where everyone truly feels welcome. The food was of an exceptionally high standard. We often eat out – especially in Berlin – and can say with conviction: This was top-class cuisine. Every dish was superbly seasoned, freshly prepared, and lovingly presented. Our entire group was thrilled; everyone truly enjoyed it. A big compliment to the kitchen! The value for money is also more than fair. For the quality offered, you get outstanding service at a reasonable price. You can conveniently pay by debit card or cash. Conclusion: Gasthaus Ott impressed us in every respect. Anyone looking for good food, hospitality, and a stylish, family-friendly atmosphere will not be disappointed. A clear recommendation – even for those who don't mind traveling from Berlin. We would be happy to return.

I was there yesterday and had a salad with chicken breast, and today I had the tagliatelle with strips of beef fillet. It was delicious, and the service was super friendly. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the Cordon Bleu wasn't particularly good. It tasted like it was bought from a supermarket and made at home... I can't recommend it. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice.

Honest food and perfect service

Very tasty food, a wide selection of drinks. Friendly service and a lovely ambiance (traditional Black Forest). It's a bit more expensive, but you won't be disappointed.

Very good food. I had Schnitzel with spätzle and mushroom sauce, as well as a local beer on tap. The meat in the Schnitzel was from a local farm, just 10 km from the restaurant.

Great for a restaurant: drinks were cold, no long waits, portions were quite large but not huge. The dishes tasted good.

We just had cevapcici with djuvec rice and fries. The fries were too salty, the ajvar tasted like it had Parmesan in it, disgusting. The green salad wasn't washed properly. I'm disappointed with the food 🤮

If we lived in Villingen, this would be our regular! Wonderful, surprising decor, very friendly and helpful staff (okay, maybe they could have warned me that the "small pork schnitzel" was the size of my two hands... lol!) We enjoyed it so much that we stopped by again the next day for a nightcap. Thank you so much!

We were in Villingen on the shopping Sunday and were looking for a restaurant because we were thirsty. Then we saw the food coming out of the kitchen and decided to eat something too. The building itself appears to be very old and has certainly been rebuilt many times over the centuries. The restaurant is original. The food wasn't cheap, but we enjoyed it and the portions were so big that no one went hungry. However, the drink prices are steep. 0.3 Pils or Radler 4 €. 0.5 Radler 5.50 and a 0.4 juice spritzer 4.50 €. 🤔

On Wednesday evening we spontaneously went to the Ott and found space for two people. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating and always tried to make it as pleasant as possible. The two side salads were fresh and well prepared. The South Tyrolean Cordonbleu and the farmer's bratwurst with fries were very plentiful and delicious. What's great about service is that you get extra sauces at no extra charge. Finally there was an espresso. We always enjoy coming to the Ott. Thank you for the great service. 🍀👍

The Gasthaus Ott is in the most beautiful location in the town of Villingen. On our trip to the Black Forest, our travel group from the SERV Basel section was able to enjoy a delicious lunch with starter and dessert. The friendly, quick staff rounded off the good impression

We ate at Ott on a Sunday afternoon. We got a nice table, and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, the meal was a complete disaster. The salad was old, and the potatoes in the potato salad were hard. The fries had probably been refried and tasted stale. The fries also sat in our stomachs later.

I can only recommend this place! I was here recently with my boyfriend and I loved it. The location is beautiful, the food was incredibly tasty and the service was surprisingly good. If the food is so good and the service is as quick and friendly as it is here, you'll definitely be happy to come back. Tiptop, rarely eaten so well!

I had dinner here with my girlfriend and didn't regret it for a second. The ambience was nice (we sat outside on the terrace), the service was quick and very friendly and the food was excellent. My highest praise goes to the kitchen, and if we happen to be in the area again, we will definitely eat here again!

We were there as a couple on a Friday evening without a reservation and were greeted by a very nice, attentive waiter who clearly enjoyed his job. Even though everything was full he tried to find a table for us...with success! We immediately felt comfortable. The food was delicious, the service was nice, friendly and attentive. We can recommend the restaurant without reservation. We'll definitely go there again.

Wir waren heute dort wegen den guten Bewertungen hier und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Haben noch einen Platz bekommen ohne Reservierung, aber es war schon recht voll. Eine Reservierung ist also zu empfehlen. Das Essen kam sehr zügig. Es war reichlich und sehr lecker.

A great guesthouse! The two of us had dinner. The food was really delicious! The service was super friendly and very accommodating. The inn has its own style. From the outside it is already very interestingly decorated and from the inside it is topped off again. Great ambience and decoration!

Very nice pub with a good selection of drinks and an excellent menu. We were there with a team of 14 people and were very thirsty and hungry. The large restaurant with countless seating options, niches, tables, etc. was well attended, which didn't upset our waitress. The service was excellent and the kitchen managed to bring all the dishes to the table at the same time! From starters, steak to schnitzel, from beer to gin & tonic to dessert, we had everything the store had to offer^^ Thank you for the great evening

So I have to say the food was very good. The ambience was also really nice, we had a very great place. Service was okay, the reason for this was that at the end where we wanted to pay, not enough was given back. I wrote an email about it. Unfortunately, I have not received a response to the email to date.

It's a nice, quaint pub with a great menu. There is something for everyone, whether you are a vegetarian or a meat lover, whether you are hungry or small. The drinks menu is also very large. The food tasted very good.

Saturday evening: Waited 1:05 hours for food - lukewarm. Lt. Conversation with the owner an acceptable waiting time. Either the owner is on a very high horse or my expectations of post-Corona gastronomy are too high. No matter: The Ott has lost a guest.

I came here with a huge appetite for tarte flambée - and was not disappointed. There are two variations on the menu (classic and Greek). At my request I got a mix of both. This may have been due to the fact that it was quite empty, but the service was good. I could only have taken a photo of the empty board because I was really hungry. Maybe next time. I'll be back. Update (Saturday): Even with more customers, everything is fine. I drove here at noon today (almost exactly 12 o'clock). A large party arrived with me (birthday or something), but everything in the dining room at the front is still running smoothly and quickly. I'm very impressed. I put a star on it for the ambience, I hadn't paid enough attention to that recently.

We went there for dinner with a group of 13 people. Drinks and food can be absorbed quickly. In general, the waitress kept checking on us. The rump steak with bacon beans, corn on the cob, fries and homemade herb butter was sensational! With food and two drinks I paid €43.
