The wooden house in front of the restaurant is a lovely idea and very cozy. The atmosphere is perfect. The food and service were impeccable. I'd be happy to come back, even if the portions were a bit large for me. Thank you.

Yes, unfortunately there must have been a change of ownership here. All of the food was inedible. Starting with the liver dumpling soup that had strange green vegetables mixed in. The fried potatoes as a side dish were pure ⚫️ money, and are brought to the customer like that and added to the bill. The salad is dripping with mayonnaise and the bread is covered in fat/oil. The sauce for the meat has nothing to do with a sauce for a small spoon, simply tasteless. There is simply no dessert on the menu anymore. In short, there is no longer any motivation to send customers home satisfied. A good example of why nobody will soon be eating out in restaurants anymore. It's five times better at home and sometimes you pay almost 80 euros for three dishes, soup, main course and salad. It's just a shame. Soon there will only be high-class restaurants, I no longer feel like throwing my money out the window for no reason.

Stopped here for dinner. The jagerschnitzel was good.

The beer garden is beautifully designed, but the interior is relatively small and crowded.

I'm disappointed now. It used to be better. We had to wait forever to be served, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The beer garden is completely useless. Closes at 8 p.m. in the summer? Closed because of wealth? A shame, but not necessarily recommended anymore.

Unfortunately, it's awesome. We came here after playing mini golf (also highly recommended). The portions are generous and very good. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance.

There's nothing to complain about the food, it was very tasty, but the service was unfortunately very poor. Not only that, but many dishes were forgotten and served separately. I finished my main course, and my colleague only got his starter.

Very nice beer garden in the courtyard, freshly tapped Augustiner Helles beer, and delicious schnitzel! We were there with 8 adults and 7 children, and everyone enjoyed the food and no one was left out! Reasonable prices and friendly service! Definitely recommend it.

This beautiful country hotel with a feel-good factor is located in a converted old mill and has an adjoining adventure golf course. The five rooms are spacious, clean, and lovingly decorated. They are equipped with wide, comfortable beds and a modern bathroom. The breakfast is adequate, and special requests are catered for. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes from an extensive menu starting at 5 p.m. The service is very friendly and informal, and all requests are catered for. The country hotel also has a large outdoor area with beer garden seating. The well-maintained adventure golf course attached to the hotel offers a wonderful opportunity for leisure activities. There is also a snack bar with a fixed location, open from 12 p.m. My conclusion: A recommendable hotel with a very good atmosphere. It invites you to return.

I can only say good things about my stay. The atmosphere in the winter hut is very cozy. The service was courteous and the dishes came for the whole group (6 people) at the same time and were good to very good. In my case, a delicious game goulash!

I was a guest here for 2 nights. Very pleasant atmosphere, great food/breakfast and most importantly... Very hospitable. If there were more stars I could give, I would have done so. Highly recommended !!

We were here for Christmas dinner today. It was my first time in this restaurant. Inside it is very rustic and cozy and it was very nicely decorated. There was a special menu for Christmas, 6 menus with soup, salad and dessert. There was nothing for vegans, my brother as a vegetarian could choose between Schupfnudeln with vegetables and cheese spaetzle, but the soup was with salmon strips, so the restaurant could offer a clear broth with vegetables as an alternative for vegetarians. The food itself was very plentiful and extremely delicious! We had cheese spaetzle, roast venison, salmon fillet and roast goose (breast AND leg). Everything was very good, including soup and salad. The price-performance ratio was 1A. The service was also very good, the food came very quickly (almost a little too quickly) and despite the fact that the restaurant was completely full at the end, everyone remained calm, patient and friendly. An absolute recommendation if you are ever in the area.

We wanted to have a drink in the alpine hut, but since there was no more room, we went into the archway, which was nice there too. Only the service was a bit unfriendly. We had to order directly at the counter and take the items with us, no problem. But we were told by the waitress that we couldn't stand in the way. You have to order somehow.

We were here shortly after Christmas... the alpine hut is cold and drafty... it was terribly loud so you could hardly have a conversation... the staff was unfriendly and seemed annoyed... the food was ok...

Only the hut is open, no menu and we wait forever for service. Totally annoying. Nobody understands the purpose of the hut, the restaurant is empty and everything has to be carried into the hut!

Im Winter steht im Innenhof / Biergarten eine sehr gemütliche und wunderschöne Almhütte, in der man super schön sitzen kann. Das Ambiente ist top. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und geschmackvoll, mit Liebe gekocht. Preis / Leistung stimmt. Der Service braucht definitiv Nachhilfe in Sachen Freundlichkeit….. das geht definitiv besser.

The service is so unfriendly that it's amusing. Lunch, although advertised in front of the restaurant, was canceled: unfortunately the cook was ill. There wasn't even a drinks menu. When asked, a few standard drinks were carelessly downed. You feel like you are neither a guest nor particularly welcome here. It's a shame, you could do a lot more with the location.

Hospitality and customer orientation are absent here. Orders are misunderstood, then you roll your eyes and say you don't want the food being served. On top of that, you wipe the customer's mouth and call him stupid. As compensation, there's an espresso on the house and a stupid comment when checking out without a tip... everything's fine, keep it up 👍 Doesn't need customers...

Unfortunately we have to agree with the previous reviews. No change in meal specifications possible. Absolutely inflexible service. We couldn't determine whether it was due to the incompetent service or the kitchen. What we wanted was spaetzle with sauce and fries with ketchup/mayo. We got cheese spaetzle, even though we said no several times, and fries without ketchup/mayo. By the way, the waitress wears it in her pants, as she answered us when we served the espresso?!? Conclusion: the fish starts to stink at the head. From the outside, wow, the service sucks. Discussions about how the spaetzle isn't over-baked, why we don't eat it that way, why we don't belong, how the guests are fed up, and in the end we blame the teacher girl for everything. My dear ladies, you still have a lot of potential for improvement! Unfortunately we can't say anything more about the food or the kitchen's skills, we've lost our appetite.

Hospitality tends to be underplayed here. Unfriendly and making you wait, even though it really wasn't stressful. And you really can't recommend the coffee either. And then the stream was no longer valid (bonfire), manmanman. Weissbier was good, that's why we get the second star. Unfortunately that was it.

Beer garden is self-service, very cozy, the adventure mini golf course is also very nice and is right next to the beer garden.

Pleasant and friendly beer garden with equally pleasant opening times (other beer gardens often don't open until 5 p.m.). However, I would like to see a little more discretion when it comes to serving food (e.g. through pick-up numbers). The whole beer garden doesn't have to know what someone has ordered...?!? Update September 2024: Unfortunately, the food that is ready to be picked up is still being blared all over the beer garden...

Ich habe ein nicht gerade preiswertes Rumpfsteak bestellt - und wurde gefragt, wie ich es gerne essen möchte. Medium Rare war meine Antwort. Bekommen habe ich fast well done. Nachdem 2 Bedienungen bestätigt haben , dass dies (siehe Fotos) nicht der gewünschte Gargrad ist, ist die Bedienung zum Chef und dieser wiederum damit in die Küche. Mein Steak kam wieder, mittlerweile fast kalt - und es wurde diskutiert, statt dem Gast das Gefühl zu geben, man gibt sich Mühe. Kein Preisnachlass, keine Aufmerksamkeit. Mein letzter Besuch - und das obwohl ich aus der Umgebung komme….

As we all know, you should give everything a second chance and we have that too. After the owner pointed out to us in a very grumpy way on the first visit that we were wearing the wrong shirt and that we were lucky to even be served with this T-shirt (OFC logo), the second visit was topped again. When we visited again, people said loudly, look, it's that STUPID OFCLer again. Rivalry or rivalry, it's about gastronomy and food, not sport. I was told that this was not an isolated case by a colleague who was there for a nightcap after an OFC game and was verbally attacked by a small group of Frankfurt residents (including the owner). It's a shame that they don't seem to entertain guests just because he's a fan of the wrong club.

I ordered a not particularly inexpensive rump steak - and was asked how I would like to eat it. Medium rare was my answer. I received it almost well done. After 2 waitresses have confirmed that this (see photos) is not the desired degree of doneness, the waitress goes to the boss and he in turn takes it to the kitchen. My steak came back, now almost cold - and there was discussion instead of giving the guest the feeling that they were making an effort. No discount, no attention. My last visit - even though I come from the area...

You can sit outside very nicely

Nice location, good food. But..... .. what doesn't work at all are the prices and the wrong - too old - map on the homepage. The menu is stored on the half board with, for example, a price for a veal schnitzel of 19.90 euros! But if you sit at the table you get the menu with a price of €23.90 per schnitzel. One of the owners asked about it... Statement: "If you had time for something like that...!" The price alone is...*well*...but then trying to foist that on the customers. For me it was the last time here.

The food is amazing, if you want to try traditional German food. The atmosphere on the terrace is pretty nice.

Great stop for a bike tour in the Kahltal. The beer garden with the mini golf course is really nice, the food is just like the beer garden. But you can also bring everything for the picnic and just buy the drinks. The mini golf course is the most beautiful I know. But next time I won't go on Sunday, but during the week.

We spent a night in the inn here on our Spessart bike tour. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. The cheese spaetzle were delicious. We had a lovely evening and the staff was super nice and accommodating.

Anyone who likes to be yelled at by bad-tempered waitresses in the beer garden is in good hands here. The Aperol wasn't tasty either.

This was our second time eating here. The first time the food and service was very good. Which also justified the high price. This time the service was a complete disaster. The waitress breathed hard and rolled her eyes when she reordered the side dish. And as if that wasn't enough, came The order will still be as shown on the menu. The liver dumpling soup, which was really tasty on our last visit, was completely over salted and the liver dumplings were not comparable to our last visit 6 weeks ago. The hunter's sauce was also way too over-seasoned, apparently the chef was in love 🙈 The veal schnitzel, also not comparable to the quality of the last visit. We were only asked for drinks once during the visit and sat in front of our empty glasses for ages. It's a shame because we were very excited last time. For the prices that are charged, the quality should be consistent and the service should be good. We were more than disappointed and will look for a new location. We recommend the mini golf course and the self-service beer garden. The lady at the checkout here was super friendly.

Food was ok, service too. However, I had to wait almost an hour for a portion of cheese spaetzle, which was the size of a child's portion, if at all. The place wasn't very crowded. The beer glass was also not filled to the calibration mark. This is how you annoy your guests. With "Alla Card" we at least had something to laugh about during the long wait.

Today we went to Kahltalmühle for dinner with our daughter. The cordon bleu and the cooked cheese schnitzel along with fresh fried potatoes were super tasty. The large fresh side salad is a hit anyway. Ambience perfect.

I now know the beer garden here and, in winter, the Alpine hut in the inner courtyard. The beer garden is located directly on the Kahl on the green meadow on the edge of Kälberau. Augustiner on tap, self-service, large mini golf course and the best dog in Lower Franconia. We always come here after riding the trails on the ridge. Nice people, nice beer garden and lots of cyclists. Favorite place!

Food was ok but nothing more… Price performance is just not right here. So nothing special, won't be coming back…

Went for dinner with friends and I was more than disappointed. The ambience is so-so, the noise in the half-full restaurant is almost unbearable and the food is a bitter disappointment: the sauce on my cream schnitzel was very over-seasoned, my wife's cheese spaetzle was swimming in oil and my friend's fried potatoes were burnt. Black fried potatoes are a no go, sorry. At these prices the food was an insult. I will never visit this location again

We were there for dinner in the alpine hut. The hut is only available for a month and is provided by a brewery. It was so quaint and cozy, I can only recommend it to everyone. Food was very tasty, huge portions, everything fresh. The only minor point of criticism was that the fries were too thin and somewhat rubbery for me, but that's also a matter of taste.

Rustic gastronomy. A place where you can also celebrate festivals. Prices are somewhat higher.

Essen ist sehr gut! , Getränke werden alle mot flasche serviert was für uns trotzdem ok ist. Vorallem überzeugt hat der service, sehr freundlich. Die kleine bekam auch eine fanta mit auf den weg als sie zum beim abgang nochma drinne nach etwas zu trinken fragte

Essen war qualitativ bzw. quantitativ sehr gut. Zimmer sehr komfortabel und Frühstück sehr ebenfalls Top. Kann ich sehr weiterempfehlen. Leider das WLan war sehr schwach und daher nicht so gut, man konnte sich kaum verbinden. Aber sonst alles sehr gut.

Ich habe noch nie einen derart unfreundlichen Wirt kennengelernt. Weil er keine Auskunft über Allergene in seinen Speisen geben will, hat er uns aus dem Gasthaus geworfen. Ich rate jedem Lebensmittel Allergiker dieses Gasthaus nicht zu besuchen.

Wir lieben diese Location und landen hier sehr oft 🥳. Im Sommer gibt es einen schönen Biergarten und jetzt im Herbst ist dort eine urige Almhütte aufgebaut. Tagsüber gibt es nur kleine aber leckere Gerichte, ab 17:00 beginnt der normale Restaurant Betrieb. Aktuell sind wir süchtig nach dem köstlichen Erbseneintopf 😋, der ab und zu auf der Tageskarte steht. Direkt neben der Kahltalmühle gibt es einen schön angelegten Adventure Minigolfplatz. Außerdem eignet sich die Kahltalmühle hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt für schöne Wanderungen und Radtouren. Falls meine Rezension hilfreich war, würde ich mich über einen Daumen nach oben freuen 👍.

Ein gutes Ambiente die Idee mit der Alm Hütte man kommt mit den Nachbartisch ins Gespräch. Das finde ich gut .

Waren auf eine Runde Adventure Minigolf da gewesen. Schöne Anlage. Witzige Idee und mal was anderes zu den klassischen Minigolfanlagen. Habe Platzreife. Danach waren wir nicht im Biergarten und Restaurant sondern in der davor extra aufgestellten Skihütte im Innenhof gewesen. Witzige und coole Idee. Sehr urig. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Hatten Leberknödelsuppe. Super lecker und kräftig im Geschmack, Danach Salat der Saison mit der gebrannten Pfifferlingen und Kochkäs mit Brot. Beides auch sehr lecker. Service zu vorkommend und freundlich. Hatten nichts auszusetzen. Ein Besuch kann man guten Gewissens empfehlen. Werden auf jeden Fall wieder einmal vorbei schauen.

Sehr schönes Ausflugslokal! Wir haben erst eine Runde Minigolf gespielt . Es ist eine wirklich toll und liebevoll abgelegenste Anlage , auf der das Spielen richtig Spaß macht . Es gibt einen kleinen Biergarten, dort kann man sich Getränke holen und auch mit auf die Anlage nehmen . Anschließend waren wir in der wirklich gemütlichen und urigen Hütte . Es gibt leckeres bodenständiges Essen . Tolles Ambiente . Zu empfehlen . Preis Leistung stimmt !

Sehr schönes Gasthaus mit Biergarten, im Herbst, Winter steht eine bewirtete Almhütte auf dem Gelände in der man gut feiern kann. Gutes Essen mit Produkten aus der Region von gleichbleibender Qualität sowie eine Erlesene Getränke Auswahl. Hunde sind in diesem Lokal Willkommen. Sehr zu empfehlen.
