The shoulder of pork was very tasty, especially the savoy cabbage as a side dish. The service was very nice and friendly.

Also has a bar right on the bridge.

We didn't have a reservation and were assigned a very nice place. Unfortunately, the so-called "wedding dinner" wasn't warm. The noodles were cold and the beef was only lukewarm. So there's still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to eating... also when it comes to the choice of food, there wasn't much that you would have liked to order.

Hospitality is different. The seats outside were well occupied but there were still a few free. Inside the inn, all tables were free and not reserved. We wanted to sit here as a couple at a table that also offered a nice view of the outside. We were asked to free it up because it would be suitable for 4 people and we were asked to sit in a back corner. So we left the empty restaurant. Never, never again!!!

The one star only exists because we found it. What's great here is a wheelchair symbol in the description. But with a wheelchair you can only get to the entrance and no further Of course you can buy something to eat or drink outside at the bar table. But the standing table is of course much too high for a wheelchair. But fortunately Würzburg has other locations.

I can only warmly recommend the Mainmühle to everyone. We recently celebrated our wedding there and are overjoyed with everything. Food, service, ambience - I can highly recommend it to everyone.

Very nice setting on the old bridge. We didn't have a reservation, so we waited a while for a table. Perfect service, good food and excellent Weissbier. There is a bit of a cold wind from outside at the door, I recommend taking a table further away from the main entrance.

Food good, service also ok, unfortunately reserving a table for three is a catastrophe, as you are then seated in the middle at a table for two, despite having made a reservation and requesting a table with a view of the Main.

The food was very good, the service to the guests was friendly but unfortunately the tone among the guests was very unpleasant. There were probably new holiday employees there who were pointed out their mistakes in an unpleasant way. I also work with trainees and interns, but I wouldn't talk to them like that, and certainly not in front of customers at all. The lady at the next table also noticed it. I'll choose another place next time.

The three of us actually wanted to eat there today. Went into the restaurant which was completely empty and accidentally walked past the sign indicating that it was being placed. Were immediately shouted at in a very unfriendly tone... whether we hadn't seen the, in their words, "huge" sign... and why we just walk in. We immediately turned back and ate very well at the competition. Service -5 stars Unfortunately I can't rate the rest.

We celebrated our civil wedding in this wonderful restaurant - and it was simply perfect. From the first contact to the big day, we were treated warmly, professionally and with great attention to detail. The food was an absolute highlight: fresh, refined, beautifully presented and consistently delicious. Our guests are still talking about it today! Even special requests were fulfilled with a smile. The service: unobtrusive, attentive, fast – simply great all around. We felt like we were in good hands at all times and were able to enjoy our day to the fullest. A huge thank you to the entire team – you made our day unforgettable!

Ate again in the Alte Mainmühle. Even if the price is a little more expensive here, the Mainmühle is still recommended. The food is of good quality and the service is very friendly. When making a reservation you should try to get a table on the balcony. Here you have a beautiful view of the Main and of course the fortress.

As foodies, on the occasion of our wedding anniversary we decided to return to this place, which used to have very good cuisine, but then lost its quality over the years: today, unfortunately, another disappointment! A restaurant that strives for originality and fine cuisine, but does not achieve what it sets out to do in terms of taste. Even the regional dishes are not at the expected level, the meat quality was poor today, the wild garlic soup was sour and didn't taste like wild garlic. However, the dishes are prepared very tastefully. Too bad!

The service was extremely friendly and the restaurant, right on the Main Bridge in the heart of the city, exudes a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the Wiener Schnitzel wasn't entirely convincing. Unfortunately, it was consistently tough and did not have the tender, juicy texture that you would expect from a real Wiener Schnitzel. And paying almost €70 (2x €33.90) for it unfortunately spoils the overall impression considerably.

The place to go on sunny days for people with a thirst for wine. Window sales of wines. Great idea. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. The only negative point was the service. We waited a good 10 to 15 minutes for the order to be taken. The same with the payment process. The restaurant wasn't even 3/4 full. So be it. The location including the view as well as the food and drink were great.

Great atmosphere! We had a table on one of the outside decks overlooking the river. The service was very friendly. Serving sizes were ample. Many customers simply purchased drinks from the outside service counter and enjoyed them overlooking the beautiful historic bridge.

Tourist trap! Massively overpriced

We went there for a drink at lunchtime. We had a table near the entrance, so every time the door was opened there was a rush of cold air. This happens a lot because there are a lot of people out on the bridge drinking their wine.

Always worth a visit. When the weather is nice, the spot on the balcony with the view of the old Main bridge, the castle and the vineyards is unbeatable. The food is great. The service has always been great.

Went to the Alte Mainmühle several times, as always the food was excellent, I always found something interesting, regional and seasonal on the menu. This time I ate porcini mushroom dumplings with leek vegetables and Belper Knolle (a cheese) as well as a dessert made from Belgian chocolate and Franconian plums, both of which were simply delicious. Since we came by unannounced this time, we were only able to get a seat on the protected and heated Main balcony, but that didn't hurt the atmosphere. Always my pleasure!

All 5 elements evening!!! The wood, the fire in the fireplace, the room and the ambience, fine jazz music, beautiful and delicious wine, pleasant audience. All around a perfect evening! I can only recommend it.

After a delicious rose on the Main Bridge, we spontaneously went to the nearby restaurant for lunch. The food was amazing! Staff courteous and extremely friendly. Large selection of wines, great and cozy atmosphere. Fireplace room really chic. Definitely recommended!

We had a really nice time here. The menu is very varied and every dish was prepared with a lot of love. Especially the meat and the homemade desserts were very tasty. The price-performance ratio is excellent for such good food. The prices were very fair service very attentive and fast everything was well organized I can definitely recommend it

Its location is the best in a very beautiful place. We only ordered some wines from the area, very good although expensive. It is clear that you pay for the location of the place, you can drink these wines in any other place in the city at a much better price, but as I mentioned, you are paying for the place where you drink it, as I said. It is not the worst because the price is accepted but I think that the location of the establishment has to be accompanied by good service for that you assume the price and the service gives a lot to be desired arrogance and arrogance I really hope that this review serves to improve this aspect because the place deserves and so does his clients.

A culinary paradise! The food in this restaurant was simply incredibly delicious – a real treat for the palate. Every bite was a treat that is hard to beat. There is absolutely nothing to complain about, I can only warmly recommend this restaurant. It really was like heaven on earth. The ambience was very pleasant and tastefully designed, which made the stay even more pleasant. The employees were extremely friendly and accommodating, which rounded off the service perfectly. An all-round perfect experience – I’ll definitely be back!

Price/performance not justified. With a higher standard, the fried potatoes should also be prepared in a pan and not briefly held in the deep fryer. Add too much salt. The appetizer labeled as pumpernickel also did not correspond to the description, because there was no slice of bread on the plate but rock-hard bread crumbs. Our complaint was not taken seriously.

We had a very good meal there a few years ago. Now we were back in Würzburg and were really looking forward to a lovely evening. The service was good, but it's not possible to get your high-quality, high-priced dishes faster than in a fast-food restaurant.

The Alte Mainmühle in Würzburg is a real highlight! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and our dog was immediately provided with a water bowl - very dog-friendly! The wine selection is impressive and offers something to suit every taste. Plus the beautiful ambience with a view of the Main – simply fantastic! The food was consistently excellent. From the starter to the main course to the dessert, everything was high quality, fresh and incredibly tasty. An absolute delight! This restaurant is a real insider tip and definitely worth a visit. We would love to come back!

The food was super tasty, but the vegetarians only had two main courses, only one of which was vegan. The portions were very small compared to those with meat. Even a bad eater won't be able to get enough without a starter. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Due to structural reasons, depending on the table, you sit very closely and the neighboring table is also extremely close. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of sitting next to a very loud group of tourists with little or no well-behaved children. Prices can be higher here.

This is a wine bar and restaurant at the east (Old Town) end of Alte Mainbrucke. In addition to taking meal here there is a take-away order window where you can buy glasses of wine as well as holiday glühwein during the Christmas season to enjoy outside while spending time at the old bridge. Opening hours are 11am to 11pm daily. We stopped here a couple times during our recent visit to Würzburg and enjoyed glühwein (€5 + €5 deposit for the glass). Servings came in an Alte Mainmuhle signature glass which is nice and importantly it tasted very good, nice to have while taking in the views along the river and just enjoying the festive and friendly atmosphere of this location in the Old Town.

Nice restaurant on the old Main bridge. Due to the first-class location, the prices are generally higher, with portions sometimes being smaller. Food: I found my food to be mediocre despite its great appearance (porcini mushroom dumplings on leek vegetables), whereas my friend was very satisfied with his meal (rump steak medium). Therefore overall 4 out of 5 stars for the food. The service was friendly.

Only the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. But given the price-performance ratio, it doesn't even begin to convince me. Schnitzel for 32 euros which was absolutely unacceptable in terms of quality. You don't get anything more with the schnitzel except a minimalist potato salad, which is also completely disappointing. NEVER AGAIN. Tourist trap, nothing more.

We waited almost an hour for our food (probably because there was like three waiters for a completely full, two story restaurant), which ended up being super underwhelming. The Schnitzel was literally just one Schnitzel with a tiny bowl of potato salad, leaves you still feeling hungry. The best part is the interior, looks very nice. Overall seems like a tourist trap, there's loads of cheaper and better restaurants with a similar franconian feel.

For German cuisine, the seasoning is moderate, not too salty, and it is very suitable for Taiwanese tastes. The stewed pork shoulder is very soft, and the bones and meat can be separated with a fork, but the pork skin is too hard for my 30-year-old teeth to chew. Although it looks crunchy and delicious, it is not recommended to eat it. The potatoes on the side have the chewy texture of German QQ...not unpleasant but not delicious either. The signature cider is delicious! recommend!

Food was okay, but service was a disaster. We waited forever until we had a table (even though there was nothing going on). Meanwhile, the staff ran around haphazardly. Once we got a table, we waited forever until we could order. The meal took 45 minutes. When serving, the waitress poured half the soup on my friend. Tourist trap!

We were there for our wedding anniversary and were very ceremoniously welcomed at a specially white-covered table with champagne. The staff looked after us lovingly and we really enjoyed the extra amuse gueule. The food was once again first class😋

Had 4x Schäuferle... bratwurst and fish. Sauerkraut ice cold... but then warmed up again. However, the Schäuferle were the worst we've ever had...hardly any crust, but a thick, soft layer of fat. Meat was tough and barely fell off the bone. It's a shame...especially at a price of 26 euros.

The place is very very good. We just had a local beer and ate a German sausage. But the service, location and food were great.

The Alte Mainmühle directly on (almost on) the old Main bridge is a restaurant with upscale, home-style cuisine. I was here alone without a reservation and easily got a spot at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday in November. However, while I was there, several groups came, some of them large, so that the restaurant filled up well. The food is absolutely excellent. The small mill salad as a starter was fresh with a very good dressing, cress and seeds. Only the sliced ​​baguette was a bit hard because it was (at least) from the day before.🤷🏼‍♂️ However, the braised Schäufele with savoy cabbage, potato dumplings and dark beer caraway sauce was a Franconian dream. The only thing I could complain about here is that I've gotten bigger shovels.🤷🏼‍♂️ But these two little things are whining on an extremely high level and are nowhere near enough to reduce the maximum rating of five stars.☝🏼 The service is extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating. I felt completely at home and will definitely visit this restaurant again if I am in Würzburg again.

This restaurant is in an old building on the Alte Mainbrücke bridge - the old medieval bridge that crosses the Main river and leads to the center of the city. For atmosphere, you can't beat it, and the food was great! The bridge is now just for pedestrians so the area can get pretty busy.

Simply top, nice service, nice ambience. We ate sausages with sauerkraut and fried potatoes. Super tasty, world class sauerkraut!!!

We chose this restaurant on the occasion of our son's birthday. No recognition of the event at all, something we don't know from other establishments. Above all, the service was unfortunately very poor and made the evening a less than pleasant one. The food portions were clear. The price-performance ratio has decreased significantly (we have been here several times). Now we will unfortunately be leaving this place off our list of restaurants to visit.

The prices are astronomical. For 3 small dumplings with alleged porcini mushrooms, a bit of salad and a smeared plate with sauce 23 euros, yes, just under 24, I took 5 small deserts with a few fried potatoes, which were also dry, a bit of sauerkraut 20 euros. Great location, good food - however, the seating on the balcony is too narrow so that you can no longer sit comfortably and it is rather very cramped and uncomfortable. The heaters above our heads aren't ideal either. It gets very hot on your head directly underneath

We were here spontaneously on the weekend. Kitchen had just closed. We were told there was nothing left. 1 minute late. We were very disappointed. The service staff wasn't exactly the friendliest either. There won't be a repeat, it's a shame...

Excellent food! The poached quail eggs were star-worthy. Difficult to cut and eat from the deep bowl. It is better to use a medium-deep vessel (soup plate). The table service was very nice and quick, even in the peripheral areas - 5 stars. What we didn't like was that guests piled up at the narrow entrance and waited in vain to be welcomed, and they were deliberately ignored for a longer period of time. Some areas were extremely noisy due to group tables, but fortunately we were able to move to a quieter area upon request. Conclusion: Great food, rest ok.

We treated ourselves to a glass of wine on the Main Bridge and enjoyed the sun. The serving went quickly. The prices per glass are between 6 and 7 euros, 5 euros are a deposit. The wine was delicious, the glass was filled very full. You can do it!

First the good: The ambience is really nice - depending on where you sit, but unfortunately that's where it starts. It's extremely narrow and unless you're really lucky to get one of the nice niche seats, the ambience isn't of much use. Apart from that, it is very noisy because everything is designed to take up maximum space. When we arrived, the service employee approached us when we asked for another seat. The food came to the table after 5 minutes - so it couldn't have been freshly prepared and that's how it tasted. It was cold and the fried potatoes were floury, cold and kind of hard without being crispy. They were also dripping with fat and barely seasoned. We don't even need to start with the other dishes. We left hungry and paid a fortune for bad food and mass processing. Unfortunately, mmn. simply a bad tourist shed in a prime location.

This place is right on the bridge. Served people three ways. You can dine indoors +we did), service is great food is very tasty (we each had schnitzel), and the atmosphere is pleasant. You can come part way in, place a lighter order to go (sandwiches, brautwurst) while standing up waiting, drinking a beer. Or you can walk into a small window just for beer or whine , stand around drinking & socializing whilst looking off the bridge or at the beautiful city.

Everything was super very tasty. I'll definitely be back.

We were here for the second time now. It was perfect except for the draft at the bottom. One of the male service staff seems to live in a tram. In any case, he didn't have it that way with the door. Otherwise as expected, good food, good beer and the service at the table was very good.
